Grand Resort Lagonissi (Lagonissi, Athens) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Total luxury overkill is the theme at Grand Resort Lagonissi, a sprawling seaside compound on a peninsula 30 miles south of Athens. This is the kind of place where wealthy industrialists arrive via helicopter or Learjet, and Hollywood stars make discreet entrances in chartered limos. Long a favorite of the Mediterranean jet-set, Lagonissi is catching on worldwide — their Royal Suite made Forbes magazine's list of the world's most expensive hotel rooms (though presumably a portion of the $25,639 nightly rate goes to cover the wages of the suite's pianist, chef, and personal trainer)." - Tablet Hotels

I stayed at Grand Resort Lagonissi in a beachfront bungalow, and the experience was absolutely perfect. The room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully designed, and opened directly onto a private beach – you literally step out of your room and into the sea. The service throughout the resort was outstanding: prompt, courteous, and highly professional. Breakfast was a highlight – an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality dishes. A true delight for food lovers. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, luxurious, and private – one of the few places I already know I’ll return to. An unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

One of the coziest and quietest hotels I’ve stayed in. Perfect for anyone who wants to disconnect from the world and just relax. It’s mostly adults and families, so it stays very calm and peaceful. Great for big families, as they offer large villas, including a honeymoon villa that comes with its own private gym, makeup room, and a special hair room where the bride can get ready for her big day — all with a beautiful view. There’s also the Royal Villa, a luxurious 7-star villa with both indoor and outdoor pools. It’s absolutely massive and stunning. All the villas and suites come with their own private jacuzzi, which is always a plus! I personally recommend the bungalows with the small pool — super cozy and private. Highly recommended if you’re looking for peace, space, and a touch of luxury.

This resort has undeniably beautiful grounds and beaches. It’s very conveniently located near the airport and Athens, so you can experience the beautiful of Grecian seaside without the hassle of traveling to the islands. The service is quite good and it was a beautiful venue for a wedding. That said, the rooms in the main building are outdated and small. The bathroom reminds me of that you might find on a cruise ship; when you open the door, it hits the toilet and you have to perform gymnastics to get in. The bed was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel, much less a luxury hotel. The bright spot of the accommodations is that you are hard-pressed to find a room where you don’t have a beautiful view of the ocean! The food is extremely expensive, though this is to be expected at a seasonal beach resort. As some reviews have mentioned, the resort does somewhat nickel-and-dime you (for example, only your first 2 espresso pods are included) and it is missing modern amenities. All in all, the location and scenery of the hotel are 5-star but the accommodations themselves are more like a 3-star experience. If it were not for the compelling nightly rate offered to wedding guests, I would have felt severely over-charged for the quality of the stay. I would absolutely not pay €500+ per night to stay here.

Resort is so close to the city center of Athens but feels like a world away. There are multiple beaches and pools to enjoy the water. Our sunset side bungalow room had a private balcony and what felt like a private beach. Although we didn’t go to the big fancy restaurants on site, the choices were impressive. The more casual restaurants and lounges were excellent, although the service was sometimes slow. But, it’s Greece.

Great Villa. All comfort, gym included in the bedroom 🔝. Big toilet with comfy amenities robes & slippers. Great beds (pillows could be better). Attentive cleaning and services. Buggies always on demand. Very good food offer at breakfast and lunch with some good options for non-meat lovers. Beach right in front of the bedroom with a stunning view to the ocean and full of privacy. (Mine a bit rocky but just few steps aside and you could swim at your own pace). A sandy beach on the other side at a buggy distance. Just couldn’t walk because it was a terribly warm weather week. A romantic place that gives you “a wish I could come back soon” feeling.

What a great place to decompress after 20hrs of travel. Stayed just 2 nights, but we were treated like royalty. The staff was just amazing, so helpful and friendly. The room, a sunset beach bungalow, was spacious. Did take a day to figure out all the lighting controls. ||Both of the main restaurants (Captains Table and Galazia Akti) had inspired menus and the food and service was beyond expectations. Both settings were spectacular. The breakfast was lavish and tables on the deck had a view of the sea. The beachside Mediterraneo was a great nibble while sunbathing. ||Me and my wife both agree that this was defiantly what we needed to start a long holiday.

Stunning hotel & the Grand Beach is the most beautiful beach on the Athenian riviera. Wonderful ambience, fab up to date music, clear sea, sandy beach. Nice food. Love it.

Solid five-star seaside escape. The resort’s peninsula setting is spectacular—private coves, wide lawns, and unobstructed Aegean sunsets. Our bungalow was spotless, the bed hotel-soft, and housekeeping kept it fresh twice a day. Breakfast covers classic Greek options plus international dishes, all well prepared. Staff are courteous and quick to arrange taxis, spa bookings, or late check-out. A few notes: on busy weekends some à-la-carte restaurants book out early, and the property is 30–40 min from downtown Athens, so plan transfers ahead. Otherwise, an excellent choice if you want quiet luxury near the city but still on the water.
