I really wanted to love this hotel but OmG this was really bad: a great hotel, I guess, but back in the 80s. Why the management let this beautiful hotel slipped, is beyond me.
Good points:
-Location is great, in the heart of Jakarta business district
-breakfast food is nice (even if the restaurant Andrawina is super weird place straight from the 80s)
-lobby is grand and airy, receptionist was nice
The horrible experience:
As soon as I entered the room:
- room smelled of old room that had not been refreshed since the 80s
- I couldn’t even lock the door because the door’s wood was not aligned (seemed like water damage) and the lock didn’t latch
- bathroom was old, tired, shower leaked, tap leaked, water went everywhere
- a cockroach in the bathroom (it was skinny and ran faster than I did so I wasn’t histerical)
- tried to order room service: i had to scan a barcode to access the menu. Website was down- unaccessible (it was not one day problem, it was like that until the day I checked out)
- super frustated, I tried to call reception, but the telephone didn’t connect. Tried to call Duty manager. Concierge. Beeeeeep. Nothing worked.
- tired after 18 hours flight- I thought- whatever, I’m gonna just sleep now. And voila I met the super hard pillows. Like my grandma’s pillows from the 80s. Seriously?!
I will never ever ever stay in this so-called 5 star nightmare again. Traumatized.
