Grand Sarai Nafplio

We stayed at Grand Sarai, in the heart of Nafplio’s old town, and our experience was truly exceptional. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful – whatever we asked for, they responded immediately and with a smile. We asked for beach towels, an extra blanket for the room, even a plastic container to take our breakfast with us as we were in a hurry – and they provided everything without hesitation. In fact, when we forgot a Kindle in the room, they contacted us right away and took care of having it sent to us in Athens! The mattresses and pillows were excellent, offering a great night’s sleep, and the building itself is impressive – a beautiful restoration that fully respects the traditional architecture. The view from our room was stunning, and the location is perfect for exploring the old town. I highly recommend it and we will definitely return!

The hotel room was amazing. There is one thing though, if you are a sensitive sleeper: make sure you don't fall asleep very late because there is a lot of noise in the morning. The church nearby starts to "bang" at 8 am, and closed windows and the ear plugs that they provide (2 pairs) didn't help me personally. The cleaner is loud in the hallways. I could hear the noises of the vacuum cleaner next door. But i still give the hotel 5 stars.

This is a lovely hotel in delightful Napflio. Christos, at the Front Desk, is excellent, with a perfect personality for a hotel. He is kind, thoughtful, considerate and nothing is too much trouble. The buffet breakfasts were excellent and Marina looks after it so well. The rooms are lovely, comfortable beds and pillows. I spent my last two days here and it was a wonderful way to end my trip.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at this hotel. It is situated in a perfect spot, looking down over the town to the sea. We stayed in the suite at the top, and enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the views. The room was quiet and comfortable. The only thing that could be improved upon is the breakfast, which was just OK. There is no parking at the hotel, but you can park for free in the road by the fire station about a 10 min walk away. (Just be careful to check where you park on a Tues evening, or you may find your car in the middle of a very busy market when you return to it on the Wednesday, as we did!!)

The Grand Sarai is located in a historical building in the center of the old town. It offers nice, comfortable, clean rooms and a breakfast buffet that has an excellent selection of very good, fresh and tasty options. It is easy to explore the beautiful town of Nafplio on foot and there are some excellent restaurants just around the corner. Although there is no car parking at the hotel, one can drive up very close to the hotel to unload the baggage and there is plenty of parking within a few minutes walk from the hotel. On the day we left the hotel there were in town driving restrictions due to a bike race and a running marathon, so we had to log our baggage through the streets to the car parked at the harbor, but the owner of the hotel graciously helped us with the baggage and come along all the way to the parked car, reflecting the outstanding service being provided at the hotel.

Boutique hotel in the center of the picturesque town of Nafplio. 4/5 for the location just because we had such a hard time carrying the luggage from our car compared to other hotels with road access. We were not happy with the breakfast. Room was clean and well appointed but the central AC unit struggled to keep the room cool. The narrow design curtains barely covered the windows from the sun in the mornings which did not help either. Staff were courteous and friendly.

What a great hotel! I loved everything about it for my family of 4 - the room setup, the charm, the decor, the view from the little balcony in our room, the windows on two walls with great views, the prime location and the good breakfast. I couldn't have picked a better place! I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Nafplio.

The whole house is well renovated, nicely painted, and a little remote from the crowded village. We had a room on the 3rd floor which was the largest I believe and we did appreciate that as well as the balcony. Superb views.|Breakfast is average but good with nice service. Other than that, few interactions with reception. Maybe because it was the low season, the staff was almost too discrete.|One point of attention for travelers: it is a house which means that you hear your neighbors.
