Grand Toshkent Hotel

The Grand Hotel is a clean, comfortable hotel in a nice, central neighborhood. It is adequate in all ways, spectacular in none. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Staff is friendly and helpful with enough English to assist with most normal questions. The breakfast buffet is basic but plentiful. The restaurant offers decent food at inexpensive prices but credit cards are not currently accepted (hotel side does take them). Beer/wine are purchased next door on your behalf and paid for separately.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and regarding the service there is a step change on its quality from the day and night sifts. The young female day manager was very professional and helpful (we told her we would need wifi and asked us to wait until a room with good coverage was avaialable). The room was vey clean and there is a pleasant courtyard always empty. The location is its worst feature - it's not really close to anything!

we are on our way from Germany and Austria to New Zealand by bicycle. we usually sleep in our tent but in cities camping is not recommended. we stay in better hotels up to four stars with a good WiFi access, because we want to update our reports onc facebook and blogspot.||we found this hotel by accident.||It is quite new, with swimming pool inside, sauna and free WiFi. Internet was not free, nobody told us and on the day of departure they wanted to charge us an extra fee. on the day of our arrival swimming was still possible, the next day the pool was empty.. Price 60 USD for a double room, delicious breakfast included. clean rooms and bathroom. sat TV with many channels from all over the world. the deskbook contains a pricelist of the inventory. in case of a break you always know how much you have to pay. never seen this before. strange!||several times they had no hot water. seems to be usual to limit gaz, not from the gaz company but by order of the hotelmanager.||I had to enforce turning on the hot water. this is really strange.  friendliness is a foreign word for the hotelmanager. the staff was friendly and speaks English and German. 

The hotel is new and the interior is fresh, but clearly the management needs to climb the learning curve rapidly. Some things in the organisation doesn't make sense, and there is a need to repair and maintain the premises better and train the nice staff

Down an unadapted road but can walk to a restaurant in 10 minutes. Staff helpful. Room basic and totally overheated. Shower good. As a quick stop off for a very short night between flights it was fine. Without local assistance I imagine that getting a taxi at the airport etc would be a nightmare even for the most self sufficient traveller.

They promised us to save two rooms for us. (Our friend who were on that hotel booked it via phone on morning and we were there on afternoon) and when we arrived to this hotel they said us that they don't have any room when they were laughing!!! Shame! People of Özbekistan are great and warm-hearted. But this hotel was a scandal!

I stayed in this hotel 6 or 7 times, and I keep coming back. If you're looking for a small, cosy and not fancy hotel, this is the right place for you. Every time I coming back I feel an improvement.The rooms are always clean, the staff is welcoming and nice, and the food is not bad. The hotel is located not far from the airport.

Hotel is close to the airport. The transfer should not cost more than 10000 Som. Call Taksi Lider. Staff is friendly and speaks fluently English, rooms are spacious and have wooden ceilings. ||There are some good restaurants close by, you need to walk about 10 min.||I would recommend this hotel if you need to stay close to the airport, it is not convenient if you want to explore the centre on foot.
