Cruising the canals of the UK is an amazing experience. On the whole they are kept in a very good condition. Sometimes you don't know where one canal finishes and the next one starts.

Walking along certain stretches you wouldn't believe that you were in one of the biggest cities in the world. Green, with plenty of wildlife including: swans mandarin ducks, mallard ducks, herons, fish, Canadian and Egyptian geese and of course the cygnets and ducklings in spring! The houseboats make for very picturesque photos. On the opposite bank to Meanwhile Gardens (W10) keep an eye out for a unique garden of topiaried trees and mosaic tiles. A lovely walk, especially in the sun.

My Husband and I had a lovely walk on a beautiful sunny day (in February!). Towpath was a bit muddy in places but it was tidy and there was no litter, which was a pleasant surprise as there is usually a lot of litter left by inconsiderate fishermen.

I've been fishing this canal for the past 15years! Its awesome fun, whether you're a begginer or an experienced angler.
It holds a variety of species such as, perch, pike, carp, bream, tench, rudd, roach, dace, minnow, chub.

We cycled it . Kings cross to birmingham . We unfortunately had it booked re digs & trains from monday of the heat wave . You need canal maps . Easy to go the wrong way at juctions . Some of the tow paths are poorly maintained . Often had to push our bikes due to foliage . Would suggest mountain bikes , for it . Probably no more than 45 miles per day . We found b&b,s / hotels pre booked em . Plenty of watering holes for a beer . Sometimes large gaps depending on population near by . Overall a great ride . I,am aged 66 my mate 71 , both fairly fit . So am sure younger persons will find it ok
