Great university, wonderful campus. I've had MANY friends & family attend here. We moved nearby in 2018 and frequently utilize the campus.

Grand Valley State University is the greatest little big school in the USA. Go Lakers!

Visited the GV campus for a tour. Comparing to some of the other schools, we found Grand Valley to be more updated, clean and organized. We will continue to investigate the school more.

I loved Grand Valley! It is the perfect size, you have the Allendale campus which is so cute and great for meeting more people. Then the downtown campus which is prefect for when you're old enough to go to the bars. I loved my professors, anyone who says their professor doesn't care I'm guessing never went to office hours. I'd highly recommend living in the dorms freshman year to meet more people and joining a club or greek life. The sororities and fraternities are so sweet here, super involved on campus, do a ton of volunteer work and social events.

Grand Valley is a fantastic university. Gorgeous campus but a smaller more intimate feel than a big ten campus. Staff truly cares about kids. Class sizes are smaller allowing students more interaction with their professors. Clean, modern, beautiful facilities. They are pouring money into upgrades on the main campus as well as the downtown Grand Rapids health sciences campus. This university is a rising star for sure. Check it out!

Yelp
This is our 2nd year where our kid comes to participate in a soccer tournament. The GV sports center is a great place for this. It has 3 fields that are in a great condition, great illumination along with ample space for kids to practice while they wait for their game. Also the area for spectators is well located and within a good distance from the fields. They have a vending area where you can get snacks and drinks if your kids starts getting impatient.

Yelp
Worst 3 years of my life that I will never get back. The classes aren't terrible if you take them online, But the students here are horrible and so is the area in general. It's a strange combination of ultra liberal party animals with no life goals or morals and ultra cliquish church kids. Not a whole lot in between. Campus housing makes no effort to give you compatible roommates and will often stick you in with the exact opposites. I had to change dorms 3 times before saying screw it and getting a studio. And only expect about 1 month of nice outdoor weather during the school year. Be careful and watch your back when doing anything fun as the area is known for a lot of "Karen's" and asshole police officers that will go after you for anything even if it's not criminal. Campus police made no effort to investigate my $700 stolen bicycle or vandalism to my apartment but had no problem investigating me multiple times for "riding my bike in a neighborhood I didn't live in" and "flirting with the wrong girls". Campus dining is decent but has gone way downhill in the last few years. The football team is great for D2 but absolutely nobody here has school spirit and leaves the games right after they begin. I was lucky enough to get out of this place right before the pandemic hit but I feel sorry for anyone still stuck here on campus. Save yourself the drama and just educate yourself virtually.

Yelp
I don't recommend this school at all. Especially the Athletic department and how poorley they address the student-athlets needs and concerns. Zero respect for their Athletic leadership (or lack of) embarrassed to say we used to go there. Nothing good to say about their programs, ANY College is a better choice than Grand Valley.

Yelp
I'm currently in my fourth year at Grand Valley. It is a liberal arts college, and a lot of the requirements to graduate are different from other universities. For example, all students not enrolled in the Honors College must take a theme. This is a category in which you must take three classes. These are not always relevant to life (my theme is Creativity, for which I took Creative Writing, Storytelling, and Creativity. Yes, there is an actual class called Creativity. I shit you not). That being said, the campus is gorgeous. The first time I came for a visit I was reminded of Disney World. Cheesy, I know. The professors I've had (I recommend using ratemyprofessor.com) have been amazing. The class sizes are small, and they offered me more financial aid than any other University. The university is improving every year. Despite its location in the Bible Belt, I have enjoyed my years here immensely. It is not for everyone, but definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Grand Valley is my school! I'm getting an amazing degree in an awesome subject (writing) with the best professors. What more do you want to know? You can read lots of lovely (positive) propaganda over at gvsu.edu. Woo! College!

Yelp
The overall campus is great. Love the atmosphere and the generous people. I however am not impressed with Kleiner and how slow and under staffed they are. Waited well over an hour for a food that wasn't what i ordered.

Yelp
Graduated in April of 2017 from the business college here at GV. What a great experience. My 4 years here at GV have molded who I am today. From stepping into those freshman dorms to stepping across that stage at Van Andel, I learned more than I could have ever imagined. Being a lib arts school you get a well rounded education. Sometimes that was a pain but it helps in the long run. GV is truly great. Not to mention all the amazing things to do in GR! Do yourself a favor, become a Laker.
