We had an incredible stay at Grand Velas Los Cabos. The property is stunning with striking views, beautiful pools, and excellent dining at every turn. The kids club was by far the best I’ve ever experienced—our daughter absolutely loved it and the staff made her feel so special. A special thank you to Natalia, our personal concierge, who made our trip unforgettable. From anticipating our needs, to making sure our daughter was entertained, to responding immediately to any request, she went above and beyond in every way. Truly world-class service. 10/10 would stay again. Highly recommend for families and anyone looking for a luxury experience with genuine warmth and hospitality.

We had an amazing experience here! The spa is amazing, and we also used so many of their amenities for our 2.5 month old baby, including the nanny service and we had peace of mind and they allowed us to use a camera monitor in the room with no questions asked. Truly a one of a kind place to take your family. I like to think of this hotel as the perfect postpartum resort. The food & drinks were absolutely incredible and I think we found our go to place in Cabo after trying multiple resorts.

This was the most amazing family vacation. An absolutely beautiful property - the suites were gorgeous and spacious with lovely balconies and views and the pool area was the best we have ever experienced. The epitome of luxury through and through. The staff were incredible - could not do enough to elevate our experience and were polite, professional, helpful and warm. Our personal dedicated concierge Carlos was super helpful, kind and knowledgable. He was available at any time and ensured we had the most wonderful experience. He made the entire stay so special. Isabel at the pool would bring us drinks and food all day, with a lovely smile - nothing was too much. A truly special person and a credit to the brand. The quality of food was exceptional with plenty of choice of cuisine in the beautiful restaurants. We cannot wait to return!! Thank you

Google
Amazing resort! The rooms are spacious, extremely comfortable, and stocked with everything you could need – the mini fridge is restocked daily, and turn-down service every evening adds a special touch. The staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. There are three pools to choose from, though beach seating is limited. Onsite dining and drinks were absolutely top-notch. A luxury experience through and through.

We had an unforgettable stay at the Grand Velas Los Cabos resort. If you're looking for a luxury resort with outstanding service and a peaceful environment, this is the perfect place. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Our concierge Elisa was wonderful. She sends us daily activities and books all our dinner reservations and answered any questions we had. The resort was very clean, beautifully designed, and extremely relaxing. One of the main reasons why we picked Grand Velas twice (Rivera Maya and in Los Cabos) is because we wanted to capture family pictures from InJoy. We booked two photoshoot sessions and we were really happy with the photos and we bought all of the pictures. The photographer was really nice and patient with us and Pricella was also great at explaining our packages and delivering the photos timely. Carolina at InJoy went over and beyond to followed up with us on our pictures and even offered a video collage.

Google
What an incredible getaway! My husband and I have visited many resorts in Cabo, but we are not typically fans of 'all-inclusive' stays. This was an exceptional experience!! Our room was spacious and clean. The pools were lovely and the food was phenomenal!! My spa experience was top notch - thank you Christina!!! Daniel was our concierge and he went above and beyond to schedule our dinner reservations and spa experiences and he regularly checked in to be sure we were satisfied with our stay. I highly recommend Grand Velas! We will be back!

Google
The best all inclusive resort hands down. Will not disappoint! |Been here 3 times now in the past 3 years.|All the other all inclusive resorts on the list does not even compare to Grand Velas. Yes, you're paying a premium, but its completely worth it. This is the ONLY all-inclusive resort that actually has GOOD food. I've been to a few other supposedly "official 5-star" resorts (Not going to name them), but the food and service is not comparable at all. Even the #2 resort does not stand a chance against Grand Velas. I made a mistake of staying at one of the other "Top All-Inclusive Resorts" a few months ago. Their service and food was not even comparable. We were so upset at one point, we cancelled our last remaining nights there and booked the remaining nights at Grand Velas. |Service and food is 5 stars. Super-friendly staff, and it's good to see the same faces every time I visit. Shows that Grand Velas takes care of their employees well. All the rooms are ocean facing which is very nice. Nice restaurants and their kids club is amazing! I'm going to stop here or else this review will be 10,000 words long. Book this place, you won't regret it. Been here with and without kids and also with parents, they loved it.

I stayed here expecting a premium experience, but the cost to value didn’t justify the price. The property charges luxury rates, yet the food and service matched other all-inclusive resorts that cost half as much.||The restaurants served no premium items. Room service steak came out tough and clearly low grade. Wine selections were extremely limited, with no real variety or premium bottles available. The sushi disappointed most of all—only tuna and salmon, both low grade and not fresh. Buffet food with very limited options tasted bland and poorly prepared, nothing close to a five-star standard.||I compared this stay directly with other all-inclusive resorts such as Palace and Pueblo Bonito. Grand Velas did nothing to distinguish itself in food quality or service, yet it cost nearly double.||Overall, Grand Velas Los Cabos feels overpriced. It markets itself as luxury, but the experience doesn’t rise above standard all-inclusive resorts. I left feeling like I paid far more than what I received.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant, VELAS 10: We wanted to have one night at a fancy restaurant with a great view and we picked a winner. Velas 10 is located inside the Grand Velas Hotel, not to be confused with Vela which is located inside the Hilton. Give yourself some time to get to the restaurant bc there is a path to get there. No one will escort you, but they will point you in the right direction. Prior to arriving, I received a message that said they would only hold the table for 15 min (we were 5 mins late at the time). The restaurant has indoor and outdoor space; outdoors is the way to go as it's very scenic, overlooking the beach. The food was really good and offered ingredients of high quality; everything we had was very tasty. Shockingly, not too pricey either. I think the corkage was $20 or $25, so we opted to bring our own bottle, however in the end, we were not charged for it. David was our server, and he was great. It was semi busy, but he was always available and very attentive. Note: Dress code was NOT enforced as far as we could see. I saw plenty of men in shorts and I saw some very scantily clad outfits. I would not test the waters on a weekend, but maybe they are just more flexible on weekdays, as we dined on a Monday.

Yelp
Supposedly an upscale or best all inclusive resort, however the quality of the food is disgusting and portions tiny. We lived off of guacamole and fruits but they served them in such small portions you have to beg for more. But at the Frida restaurant they refused to give us more guacamole. Also what everyone should know is that the sun exposure that you get at this property ends at 2-3pm because of one side of the building blocking the sun. Had we known this we wouldn't have considered staying. Recommend spending a bit more money and staying at real 5 star hotels that are NOT all inclusive unless your taste buds don't work.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible! We've stayed at other resorts in Cabo and Grand Velas tops them all. This is our second time there and our experience was just as good as the first. It was busier than the first time but we were there for NYE so it was completely understandable. The staff, food, entertainment and amenities were amazing. Kids Club was great. My kids wanted to go there everyday all day. They offer babysitting services at an extra fee for children under 4 and it was totally worth it. It was a true vacation. We've decided we'll be back every year around this time.

Yelp
Simply AMAZING! This is the only 5 Star all inclusive resort in Mexico. Staying here makes you feel very special every day! We came here 2 years ago during the pandemic, and loved the resort. This year we showed up after Christmas and one of their employees we met 2 years ago surprised us when we checked in. Thank you Miguel Cuevas Comino for making our family special! Wow what a surprise! The resort is beautiful, the flower, pools, the morning sunrises are amazing! There is so much to do for the kids and the adults to keep you entertained all day. Food... their restaurants are all On Point If you like Tequila, set up a tequila tasting, they take you into their private tequila tasting room. You learn about the different types of tequilas, and sample several. Great experience! If you get a chance to treat yourself and your family make your reservation for this Epic Resort!

Yelp
My snappy dragon aka toothless and I stayed at the grand velas boutique. Food at the boutique was much better than the main grand velas. Pool was lame but definitely not as crowded as the grand velas. We left our money sucks at home. I would bring them when they are old enough to use the kids club so I can drink in peace.

Yelp
We had a great time at the resort! We stayed at Grand Velas Boutique, but explored the other side of the hotel too. The breakfast and Velas 10 were the highlight meals for us, but everything was great. Uriel was our server at breakfast and he was great! He was always very attentive and provided us top notch service. The bar staff at the pool were amazing. Martha, the pool concierge made the experience even better. She made our 4th of July so fun!! If you're looking for an amazing all inclusive in Cabo this is the place to go! We preferred the boutique as it was more relaxing and quiet, but the activities on the other side were also fun.

Yelp
Summary: 1. Very inconsistent in terms of food quality and service. 2. Rooms (esp bathroom) feel a bit dated, and don't really look luxurious. 3. Some of the highlights you may see on Instagram, don't actually occur. We stayed here twice in 2023. We had such a great time and loved our first vacation so much, that we came back a second time just after a few months. Unfortunately the second experience was not as pleasant and felt like a waste of money and precious PTO days. First experience: The place wasn't so busy. The service was amazing. The food tasted great. Pool was the perfect temperature. No crowds to fight. Second experience: We went during busy season assuming that they'll keep up the same level of service and be properly prepared to accommodate a higher volume of patrons. Absolutely not the case. Food tasted subpar everywhere. Pools were ridiculously busy and it was hard to get a spot. Service was super spotty. We're not sure if we would return after our second experience - surely there's a better place in Cabo for the price you pay for this resort.

Yelp
This is THE hotel to stay at in Cabo!! The architecture, setting, rooms, pool, everything about this hotel is just breathtaking. You will hardly even want to leave. Even the spa is the nicest I have ever been to in a resort, and not many hotels actually offer good massages. OVERALL SERVICE: 10++ stars all the way! Once I am arrived, the bellman held my luggage for me and brought it up to my room after I checked in. Part of my check-in was waiting for my butler, and a server comes to you to serve you some champagne. I felt like a glorified star! My butler walked me to my room and made sure that I felt comfortable. He booked my restaurant reservations and spa appointment for me. You can text them if you have any questions throughout your stay. They will even come find you at the pool if you need anything immediately. ROOMS: Every room has an ocean view (unless you're on the first floor) so you can't really beat that. If you are willing to splurge, the sunrise room is the most amazing view you will get. Just take a look at my photos as proof. It was so relaxing just lounging on my balcony watching the sun while sipping on a margarita. POOLS: There is a family side and an adults only side. There are also two pool bars I believe. The way the pools are laid out is the most organized I have seen at the hotel resort. You can just chill at the adults only pool and stair at the beach. A big plus is that I loved seeing the servers floating around the pools with drinks asking people if they would like to try. BEACH LOUNGE: In addition to the pools, you can also lay out on the beach in cabanas or lounge chairs. There were not a lot of people when I was there, so it felt like I had the whole beach to myself. Just stare at the waves while you take a shot of tequila. RESTAURANTS/DRINKS: Many all-inclusive resorts have watered down drinks, but not Grand Velas! Drinks were all delicious and you can taste the tequila down to the juice. I tried three of the restaurants on site, and OMG food was just on par! I can't remember the names of the restaurants but their ceviche and pastas you can't beat. My waiter was even nice enough to pack me some extra ceviche to go. All inclusive really means all inclusive. There was also a churro cart and taco station next to the pool, and that has got to be one of the best tacos I have ever tasted in my life. You can order room service, and even though it's a different menu, the food was still yummy. The café next to the entrance serves good coffee and café snacks. I grabbed an iced latte in the morning and then headed to the pool for some margaritas. Talk about self-care! KIDS CLUB: I didn't take my kids with me on my vacation but the kids club definitely looked intriguing. There were a variety of activities for kids and countless snacks that they can grab. The next time I come here I will definitely have my kids hand out there. GYM: if the gym is important to you, you will not be disappointed here. The equipment and machines were all new and incredibly clean. Most hotel gyms are quite small and cramped, but here it was pretty spacious and you can find almost any machine you need like a regular gym. There are also water and towels available as you enter. I'm sure I am missing more amenities but I just can't say enough about this hotel. Yes, it is a bit on the pricey side but I'm telling you... it is worth it! There's a reason they are ranked at #1!

Yelp
This is my second visit to Grand Velas in Los Cabos and it did not disappoint. They continue to maintain the property with perfection The staff in every area is top-notch, efficient, cheerful, and eager to please. A special shout out to Irra the spa butler who graciously led us through our top-notch spa experience and also to Fatima who gave the absolute best hot stone massage I have had in over 30 years of spa experience. SERIOUSLY! She was amazing! The food is artfully displayed and just as delicious. The buffet offers something for everyone and you can create your own gourmet meal with the options!

Yelp
Beautiful place Expensive place Irritating place We paid to be at their neighboring boutique which boasted shared amenities but were told in alternating occasions to pay $500 for the amenities or $0. Annoying

Yelp
Great property. Service and staff is wonderful. Lots of restaurants to visit on property and all are great. Was the with a large group and location was perfect. Rooms are great and balcony is nice.

Yelp
Honestly the best vacation experience I've ever had. This all inclusive resort is GORGEOUS and I can't think of a better way to spend a day than laying by one of their infinity pools, snacking on some tacos and enjoying the nice ocean breeze. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. There's a great selection of restaurants but Velas 10 and Cocina de Autor take the cake! We would absolutely come back.

Yelp
I love this place!!! They treat you like royalty and that's not even an exaggeration. All-inclusive hotel worth the price, felt like I was in a dream. Can't wait to come back! Our concierge was Astrid, she made everything so easy for us, was on top of everything, set reservations for us and made sure to check on us regularly, really do appreciate her for making our stay amazing! The restaurants were amazing, we only had time for Frida and Azul since we were so busy, but the service at both were extremely nice, the ladies at the front of Azul were pleasant and Antonio Torres was extraordinary, felt really welcomed! Recommend this safe hotel to all wanting a beautiful Cabo experience. :)

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is excellent! Our personal concierge Antonio went above and beyond. I had the tequila and wine tasting and they were phenomenal. I learned a lot about tequila and Mexican wines. Restaurants: I'd recommend the restaurants in order: Velas 10, amazing quality steaks and seafood. Again excellent service. I also recommend reserving a table outside around sunset. You really can't beat it because it's steps away from the sand. Then I'd recommend Lucca. I had beet risotto and it was one of the best I've ever had. The other food was excellent too. The chef came out to greet us and we had a really nice and informative conversation about his methods of cooking. Also try Cocina de Autor a tasting menu by a 2 star Michelin Chef. Piaf is a French restaurant that was also great. If you need to skip one restaurant it would be Frida. It's high end Mexican cuisine but coming from California, there are plenty of restaurants. The lunch restaurant azul was excellent. Again our waiter Hector C. Went anote and beyond. My son wanted a type of food that wasn't at the buffet and they made it for him a la carte. This hotel is a foodie's paradise. The resort is family friendly and they have a kids and teens clubs. The kids club has activities all day, dance, foam parties, face painting, etc and the teens club has every game console imaginable, air hockey table and other stuff. They each have a deli so the kids can ask for food or drinks anytime.

Yelp
Fantastic time here on the company dime. All the food was amazing and fresh, from the buffet to the ceviche to the individual restaurants. Unfortunately, I did not have enough days nor stomach capacity to eat at every single one but special shout out to the staff at Azul and Daniel at Lucca. The rooms were very large. Honestly, could have fit five people comfortably and included a rainshower and jacuzzi. Cleaned twice a day too. There was food everywhere and drinks as well. Only weird thing was how limited the ice pops were and the lack of churros even though we saw a churro machine... The infinity pools were great as well as all the facilities like the gym and spa. The gym especially smelled like a Bath & Body Works which is great. Even though I never met my concierge personally, they were available through text and I heard great things about everyone else's concierge. Definitely would recommend anyone to come here if they can afford it and eat as much as you can!

Bianca C.

Yelp
I'm not a big fan of all inclusive hotels BUT you'll never stay at an all inclusive hotel like Grand Velas! My husband and I had an amazing time. The employees are very friendly, helpful, and everyone always had a smile on their face. They really make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean with beautiful ocean views. The fitness center was also very clean and had plenty of equipment. The food was delicious with plenty of restaurant options. We ate at Cabrilla every day for lunch (best seafood!). Frida was also one of our favorites. The adult pool had plenty of lounge chairs and the service was impecable! Huge shoutout to Arturo and Jorge! They both were so attentive, gave great drink recommendations, and were so friendly. We were assigned our personal concierge, Uriel Taboada. Uriel really went above and beyond to make sure we were as relaxed and comfortable as possible. He was so attentive, knowledgeable, and so easy to converse with. He definitely provided the best service! Anyone reading this that has future travel plans at Grand Velas, definitely request Uriel! Overall, we had the best time and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This review is strictly for 2 hostesses at Fridas Restaurant. Everything on this resort was beautiful and most of the staff were amazing. I would have definitely given it 5 stars, but unfortunately I had a terrible experience with 2 of the hostesses at Frida's Restaurant. My husband had originally left a review and one of the hotel manager at the resort reached out to us in hopes to fix our situation, however, I misinterpreted her. Instead of offering a complimentary stay, she had offered us a free upgrade but we'd have to book and pay in full then get the upgrade. That doesn't satisfy our needs at all. I am not asking for anything yet expect anything, but if you're going to ask me to remove our initial review, I would think you'd offer something I'd be satisfied with. To break it down, one evening we went to go have dinner at Frida's Restaurant. As I walked in, I was very friendly, greeted the hostesses and gave them our name and said we have reservations at 6. The hostesses look at each other, mumbled something in Spanish, then the other one told me "we have an open toe policy here and you cannot dine here". Embarrassed and shocked, I called our Butler and he fixed everything immediately and said that there weren't going to be any more issues. Mind you, I walked all the way back to our hotel, my shoes were Tory and Burch sandals and NOT beach sandals. As we walked back, we had new hostesses greet us and even the chef came out to try and make it right. The server, chef, and food were amazing. BUT, where we sat we can see all the guests walk in, 80% were all wearing beach sandals, and I'm talking about the plastic ones. Why was I singled out? I definitely felt discriminated. On top of that, the same hostess that told me I couldn't dine, was staring at me rudely when I was eating and didn't even apologize. I stayed calm because I had my toddler with me, but that was completely unnecessary and sad that I had to go through that. I was going to elevate it there but she had left elsewhere so we decided to go back to our room. No one should ever feel as uncomfortable as I did, especially since I was following the dress code.

Yelp
This was my 4th time in the Cabo San Lucas/ Los . Previously, I've stayed at Pueblo Bonito Pacifico, Viceroy, Esperanza and Nobu! This was my first time staying at the Grand Velas resort and I simply loved it!!! I'm usually not a big fan of " All Inclusives" because the food usually is not up to par and I don't care for the cheaper alcohol that is served! From the moment you get out of your van or vehicle, you feel welcomed by the staff! Everyone here offers excellent service. The only time I didn't experience this was when I was at the Velas 10 restaurant, the waiter seemed very tired. Room: Huge! I was upgraded to Grande suiteroom from the Ambassador. Amazing room and awesome view of the beach! Resort- Plenty of pools, easy walk to the beach. There is a gym and a awesome spa! Loved how they put a Christmas tree up! Coffeeshop by the lobby and 3 cool bara. Lots of areas to just rest and rbars. Food- very fast and efficient room service for breakfast or if you just want to stay in. AZUL- Great buffet and my favorite was the seafood grill bar where I would get shrimp freshly grilled with garlic. Cabrilla-a ceviche lovers paradise Cocina Autor- simply amazing Michelin starred meal. By far the best restaurant and need to make reservations Velas 10- good steaks and wine. The service I received that night was just ok. I think the waiter seemed tired and maybe had a bad day. I highly recommend this resort, had a fabulous time and hope to return or even check out the othe r Velas group properties to compare!

Yelp
We stayed here from August 2nd through the 6th with two adults and two children ( 9 and 8 years old). It started out as a disaster from the moment we tried to check in. We reserved a Grand Class Corner Suite. Originally it only allows two adults but you can get approval for two small children when you let them know in advance. We requested our travel agent to make this request. Unfortunately, the communication did not get to the resort and they wanted to charge us for two children at full price. At the time, the resort was running a summer and fall promotion that has kids under 12 years old stay free. My two kids are under 12 years old and you would think they would honor this promotion. You would guess wrong. After an hour of arguing, they let my two kids stay at 50% cost instead of the kids free rate. Had to pay an extra $500+. Pretty upset after this encounter! As mentioned, we reserved the Grand Class Corner Suite that everyone recommends to stay in. Unfortunately, no one tells you that there are two types of these rooms. The one that is advertised from YouTube and all other advertisements is the one with the two sided windows overlooking the resort and facing the sunrise. The one they provided is the one facing west to the employee parking lot and with the west facing beach. The beach section of the view is beautiful but the adjacent employee parking lot leaves a lot to be desired. Eric, our in room butler was over an beyond for us. Knowing how upset we were, he tried to resolve the situation by finding a room that we desired. Unfortunately, we had already unpacked and the kids were exhausted. We did check out that particular room and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for the best room at the resort. Eric's effort really changed our impression of the resort during our stay. We also made reservation to dine at Velas 10 Steakhouse, Piaf, Frida, and Covina de Autor for dinner. Velas 10 and Frida allows children and therefor the entire family enjoyed our meal together. The other two restaurants were adult only, but the kids were able to utilize the kids play area and enjoy dinner and activities under adult supervision. The food and service at these restaurants were 5 stars! I'll leave more details and pictures at each specific restaurant review. Breakfast and lunch is provided at Azul, the buffet with an international cuisine that can satisfy everyone's palate. The Spa was a bit pricey because it includes an 80 minute water and sauna ceremony but well worth it and enhances the spa experience. Definite must do! The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The balcony includes a plunge pool that our kids thoroughly enjoyed. Bathroom was large and spacious. Attached are pictures of the room at view for anyone looking to stay here. Overall, this resort can be an enjoyable experience with service over and beyond our expectation except when checking in. Unfortunately for us, the two issues really left a bad taste but all the other experiences were exceptional. I would definitely recommend to others but make sure that you have all the details and facts of your reservation.

Yelp
Went here recently and stayed for 5 nights. Firstly the resort as expected is beautiful. The rooms are sufficient but nothing earth shattering. Pros- Dinners at Lucca, Velas 10 and Concina de Autor were all amazing. Some of the best food I've had recently. Activities were fun including the cooking and painting and wine. Neutral- Breakfast was fine, nothing fancy, room service was decent but the tortilla soup was more like a tomato soup. Negative- Had to ask multiple times for our in room fridge and snacks to be replenish. We were told we couldn't have a pool float in the adults pool, no mention of this anywhere on the pool rules. Felt like we had to flag down staff at the pool even though we tipped after each drink. Ceviche at Cabrilla lacked flavor as did the guacamole. Overall didn't feel like it was a good value given the high nightly cost.

Yelp
Looking for the top of the line lap of luxury? Want to feel like a Queen or King? Looking for the best service of your life? Into fine dining? Stunning views? Impeccable staff? Did I mention ALL INCLUSIVE? Look no further. Grand Velas, you have blown me away. Your staff made my Birthday incredibly memorable and special. We will tell the world and be back again and again.

I was sooo excited to take a vacation prior to having baby #2 later this year. This trip was to celebrate our anniversary, my husband's birthday, and our babymoon. The views are stunning from the lobby and the staff appear to be trying their best to be nice as they were trained to do so. Unfortunately, I feel that Grand Velas is a place for "influencers" to get what they want and enjoy all the benefits of the resort. So if you are a "someone" they seem to treat you like royalty, but if you are just a normal person who doesn't post on social media or have a presence you do not receive the same type of benefits. But let this be known that our money is just the same as their money and this hotel is NOT cheap by any means!! We wanted to splurge and see if it would be worth it, especially because it was in the Forbes Travel Guide, which has never led us astray before. But in this case, I feel like that mark was significantly missed. The first two days, we had to ask to switch rooms MULTIPLE times-mind you, we have a 19-month-old daughter so packing up and repacking took a significant amount of time. The first room had stains everywhere, was dirty, and I could hear the freeway noise in the room over the white noise machine I brought for my daughter. They said they would have the second room "cleaned" and ready for us by 8:15 pm. We had a later dinner so we said okay this is fine. When we went to get the keys to the new room, they said it was not ready and someone would meet us at our current room with the keys. Mind you, we have a 19-month-old and needed to get her to bed as it was already past her bedtime! They eventually came and then moved our stuff to the new room. The new room was EVEN WORSE. There were clumps of hair all over the bathroom, crumbs on the tables, and stains again all over the ground on the carpet and seats. This is a "LUXURY" hotel? I've stayed at plenty and this was just not acceptable. They indicated they couldn't change rooms again for us that night so we would have to wait until the next day. The next day my husband sent pictures of the room, the stains, the crumbs, and clumps of hair indicating the room was not clean despite having to wait for 2.5 hrs to switch rooms. They apologized and tried to get us another room. My husband asked to see the room this time before we moved. It was cleaner but there were stains all over the bathroom door that we had to ask multiple times for them to be removed. Now I don't expect perfection, but for the price I'm paying, I do expect cleanliness at a minimum. So that was the huge room debacle and them not wanting to really do much for us in that regard after having given us the run around etc. The food is raved about here over and over again, but I was not impressed by Azul, the room service, or the pool food (minus the Korean chicken wings). The dinner restaurants were decent and the food was not bad. We were not able to visit any of the fancier places since we had our daughter and I was not comfortable with a nanny watching her. I thought we would love Grand Velas so much that we would bring our family back so we could try the restaurants, but I'm thinking that is a no-go. The pools were decent, and there were a lot of lounge chairs, but a lot of people also saved a lot of spots early in the morning despite there being signs that spots should not be saved lol. I have also seen people post on their instagram how annoying this can be-which I agree with. the views were nice, and we went during whale season and saw a ton of whales which was the highlight for sure. Overall, I feel super disappointed. I do feel like I was treated like a second-class citizen. I felt like they were offering us rooms that they knew had issues and hoped we wouldn't notice or complain about them. It is really unfortunate because we were hoping to bring our extended family back, but I definitely do not believe I would want to return here. For the amount of money we paid, to feel like we have to beg and plead to get a clean room or proper service just seems ridiculous. Save your money and go elsewhere! We definitely won't be returning.

Yelp
Wow, this place was great!! I came here for a family vacation and it was perfect! This should be the expectation for Cabo Luxury all-inclusive. The grounds are Beautiful with 3 pools and places for everyone. The staff was amazing and catered to basically anything and everything I asked for. The room was spacious and nice, and the balcony was amazing (I spent most of my time there) I ordered a ton of room service, which was amazing! If you are planning to stay here then Get excited!! Grand Velas is An amazing resort! My one tip is to get out into the towns. San Lucas is fine and touristy but San Jose feels much more authentic. I spent a day snorkeling in san Lucas, and a day walking around San Jose. This Cabo Resort is amazing and Deserves its praise!!!

Yelp
The manager Alejandra was incredible, she dealt with my concern professionally and immediately. Our butler Eric was also phenomenal.

Yelp
Can't speak highly enough about this place! It's a foodie paradise, perfect for any special occasion (in our case, our 11 year wedding anniversary)! They have THE BEST food, service, amenities, and more. Looking forward to coming back in the future, recommending this to all of my friends and family, and checking out their other locations in Nuevo Vallarta and Playa Del Carmen!

Yelp
To Donald W. GM OF GRAND VELAS LOS CABOS.... So here I am again after a long work day. I find out grand velas is backtracking and not honoring their promise in which they told my wife. They promised to fix the issue if we deleted the review. I deleted it and still have not been one bit taken care of. It has been gaslighting at its highest level. Donald i expected better from you guys. But blatantly insisting your dress code is for men and kt women shows you didn't read my original post. I had closed shoes on. My wife did not. She was the victim of racism from You hosts at fridas restaurant on your property, not me. So again im writing this lengthy review to put everyone involved on notice. This is not right my wife is distraught with what happened still to this day and i refuse to get gaslighted by a fake "offer" to fix this... lastly when i deleted the review, yelp said they do not condone this behavior on business' telling consumers to delete the review to mitigate the issue. So whats next? Im open for discussions once you read this thank you in advance.

Yelp
Short version - for the most part, excellent service (personal concierge was lacking), food was very good (not amazing, but very good), room was very modern and very nice (I would avoid the pool suite as it's a covered patio if you're looking for a little sun). However, my husband and I both got very ill from some form of alcohol or food poisoning. Longer version - Paying for the all-inclusive version is the best option as the prices on the menu are expensive for the portion size. Food was very good. I would skip Loto, that was by far the lowlight (restaurants at main resort were better). The staff is very friendly and accommodating (they are a highlight for sure). The drinks are inconsistent as sometimes a waiter is making the drink or different bar tenders make in very different ways. The Woodford Bourbon was a different color and taste from what it usually is (we were just at Woodford's distillery in KY so I'm pretty confident we know what it should look and taste like). Also, the Jack & Coke I got was terrible so I didn't drink it. I'm not sure if that's what led to our illness or not, but it is suspect given the history of all-inclusive resorts in recent years. My biggest compliant is probably the restocking of the room; the room was cleaned but not restocked. When I requested it be cleaned and restocked the next day, it still wasn't. We had to repeatedly ask for our room to be restocked; including asking while we were out for dinner, yet 2 hours later when we returned back, they were just stocking it then at 9pm. Lastly, I requested feather-free due to extreme allergies, to which they said it was but it wasn't. Only after i was sick and stated the pillows said "down" on the tag, was our room changed over. While the waitstaff is good, the concierge and front desk seem to have a lackluster attitude about resolving issues and tried to minimize or dismiss the issues. Bottomline, for this price point, the experience needs to be exceptional and it wasn't. I won't go back nor will I recommend.

Yelp
UPDATE: after investigation, it turns out that the "misunderstanding" about my booking was due to travel agency error. PRO TIP: when booking this hotel for a family vacation be sure to book the "family suite" which is two connected rooms--not a dedicated class of rooms. In other words a family suite is two connected rooms. Our travel agency recommended we book 2 rooms and request that they be connected. Big mistake. Don't do that. Had this been made clear to us in the booking process none of our mishaps would have happened. We were told the general manager, Monica, was off the day we arrived but the following day she spoke with us and clarified that a family suite is what we should have booked and promised to put us into one asap, which she did. Otherwise our stay was great. Food was wonderful (particularly at Piaf, Luca and cocina del Autor). Also don't miss the lunch buffet at azul for freshly grilled steaks and seafood. A step above your average poolside fare. One particular standout at this hotel is their kids/teen program. It is absolutely beyond. Chock full of activities from 11am to 11pm. It's the best thing I've seen for kids in any hotel anywhere. Probably could rival Disney for the fun had by visiting kids. Truly amazing program and amazing staff. Lastly, our concierge Antonio was fantastic and helpful every step of the way. We would definitely go back. And book a family suite. To Clarify: this place is not a scam. They tried to help as best they could and they are a legit 5 star inclusive. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Best time at Grand Velas! Esteban was great and made our day great by the pool! Amazing service!

Yelp
Unfortunately, this will be our last time staying at Gran Velas. Here were the issues: 1. We had a party of 12 (four rooms) and requested adjoining rooms early on but they were unable to accommodate at the last minute (not a big deal). 2. We requested double queen beds for three of the four rooms and when we arrived at the hotel two of the four rooms were king beds and they were unable to provide the rooms we originally booked and provided a roller bed. 3. Bath tub drain did not work and had to request repair multiple times. 3. Had to reach out multiple times to concierge to book dining reservations, transportation, golf... they were unresponsive and when they did respond were incompetent by booking under wrong families, arrival times, etc. 4. The four families booked a combination of over the phone and online at the same time (both direct through the hotel) and some received better offers than others (50% off transportation, etc) and when we asked hotel management to match offers they told us "no". 5. Concierge was unresolved on dinnng reservations, made incorrect reservations and was not helpful in correcting mistakes they made Pass on this hotel and go to one of the other luxury hotels for better service

Yelp
Amazing and best in class all inclusive hotel. When you first checkin you're greeted by a plethora of staff and assigned a personal concierge/butler for your entire stay. Simply WhatsApp your needs and they are prompt to respond. The food is outstanding at all the restaurants. Kids club for our 2 and 4 year olds was awesome. Kids loved going to kids club every day, staff truly enjoy being with the kids, and mommy/daddy get to eat dinner for the first time in private as well as enjoy daytime by the pool. I can't say enough about this place. Definitely would like to return. My stomach didn't have a chance to eat all the variety of food they had to offer. Oh and I got a couple days of surfing in at a local beach solo. Amazing. Thanks Blaire and Claudia. Jair was our velas 10 waiter. Paul was our poolside server. Staff is excellent and caring. Sad to leave

Matthew K.

Yelp
Paul and Geraldo (of the pool staff) helped us during our stay and they were very attentive. Our family sat in their section specifically to get their service! I came with my family and expectations for dinner were very high. There is a dress code, however it's not enforced at all. We went to Velas 10, 2 out of our 5 nights and there were multiple parties that wore shorts and flip flops both nights. At the end of the night the manager was made aware of these things and mentioned she understood our thoughts. We specifically looked for an elegant hotel and paid a premium to stay here. If you are looking for an elegant hotel that expects everyone to abide by their dress code and act professionally then this might not be the hotel for you. Yes, I can be very specific about things but when the hotel advertises that there is a dress code then I expect everyone to follow it and for the manager to enforce it. Most of the staff is very attentive to everything you needed and did it with a smile on their face. Specifically Paul and Geraldo by the adult pool. I hope this review helps people understand what they are getting from Grand Velas in Cabo as of Aug. 28, 2023. I would say I had a great overall experience staying here and most of the staff is very very friendly but there are expectations that should be met.

Yelp
Just got back from 2 nights. I would have given them 5 stars, but.... On Sunday March 26th 2023, I got lunch from Cabrilla - their ceviche place. I had a crab tostada and a tuna tostada. Bad idea. I should have known not to eat there bc it was empty at lunch. I have had food poisoning - probably from toxins in the seafood - for the last 2 days. I had to skip work monday, and the flight home was miserable, I had to keep running to the bathroom. When I called to let Grand Velas know they said they didn't know it was their food. I literally only ate at the resort for 3 days straight, and don't have any stomach issues. I'm really disappointed with how they handled it bc it's a beautiful resort otherwise.

Yelp
Some of the best food I've had. I enjoyed dinner here with some Chocolate Clams and deliciously fresh white fish. Service was great. The restaurant and ambience are relaxing and sophisticated. If you're staying at Grand Velas absolutely give it a try. My seafood was melt in your mouth so fresh. Delish!

Yelp
Already been here twice in the past year! A true 5-star resort with the staff to match it. Food is a notch above others such as Hard Rock and Moon Palace. Very kid friendly, with several options for kids of all ages, including a Teen room. Also evening events for the kids. Exceptional food tastes across several premium restaurants (think big city level!) and the old faithful Azul buffet. Even to the point where they will make every effort for any kind of food you ask for if not on the menu. Also the pool food menu is not to be discounted. We had the wonderful Diane as our butler both times. She proactively followed up on our service and corrected any mishaps that might have occurred. Other stand outs are Hugo, the pool Director, who will go out of his way to get you anything you need, including buying new goggles, or assisting with food service. Victor is a great server at Azul. Had Eduardo several times at Velas 10 and great. Glad to see very little turn over of employees as a repeat customer. For the ladies out there, the supplied toiletries are top notch, all brand named French L'Occitane. If some rain is in the forecast (bad weather is rare), non-slip mats, umbrellas and games under cover are quickly present. Had a 50-60% occupancy rate here for Thanksgiving week 2019, so a little busy but not bad at all. Service levels are the best I have seen across many other resorts in several countries!

Susan P.

Yelp
Room not ready upon check in. Not warned of construction noise. Room not anywhere near a 4 star. Food barely editable- and cold. They didn't whether we were or not.

Yelp
We stayed at Grand Velas in March 2019 for 6 nights. Our goal was simply to relax and enjoy the hotel. We had an amazing time, and we highly recommend the hotel. Hotel grounds- We found the hotel to be large enough to entertain us and our 1-year-old daughter for 6 nights. In the morning, we would have breakfast and walk along the beach. After her nap, we would order room service or get lunch downstairs and then swim. In the evening, we'd have dinner at one of the restaurants and then have her play at the playground or Kids Club. Many people compare Grand Velas to a cruise, which I can understand. The hotel offers everything you could possibly need without ever leaving! Staff- All of the employees were polite, professional, and helpful. We appreciated the wonderful service from our butler, Rocio. All of the staff greeted us in passing, and we always had great service at the restaurants. Food- We were very impressed with the quality of the food. We have been to other all-inclusive hotels with soso food, but the restaurants at Grand Velas were excellent. We could order room service 24/7, go to the coffee shop/cafe in the morning or evening, have a buffet breakfast and lunch, or dine at one of the 7 restaurants in the evening. I'd suggest making reservations ahead of time with the concierge, and keep in mind that different restaurants are open on different days. There are 2 adult-only restaurants (Piaf and Cocina de Autor), so we had to hire a babysitter in order to eat there. Our favorites were Cocina de Autor and Piaf. Family Friendliness- A+. I was amazed at how family friendly the hotel was. They have a baby concierge, which provided us with a stroller, bouncer, crib with mobile, bottle brushes, bottle warmer and sanitizer, and bathtub. There is a playground (with shade), a splash pad, and baby pool that is perfect for toddlers. Older kids and babies with floaties can also use the 2 main pools. All of the restaurants either have a kid's meal or are willing to make child-friendly dishes upon request. The room service made specific purees (e.g. steamed pear and prune puree) as well as random things like plain pasta, tofu, steamed rice, or steamed spinach. Babysitting Service- All of the babysitters are Grand Velas employees. The 2 babysitters that we had both worked at the spa. This made me feel at ease since they wore Grand Velas uniforms and name tags, and they were familiar with the hotel. We were pleased with both babysitters that we had and we never had any concerns regarding the service. You can fill out a form with specific requests (e.g. can/cannot swim with child, can/cannot leave room). SE Spa- SE was my favorite spa ever! I wrote a separate review for SE if you're looking for more information.

Yelp
I think it's fair that 2020 was a rough year for most. My family suffered a heavy loss. As a tribute to that person, I decided to go to the ocean. I spent months researching resorts in Cabo before picking Grand Velas. This was my first trip to Cabo and I could not be happier with my stay. My requirements: sun, pool, ocean view, swim-up bar. I was greeted immediately upon arrival, my bag was taken, champagne provided while I sat looking at an amazing view. The resort is stunning. Even the view from the gym is amazing! The hospitality is top notch. Everyone that works there goes out if their way to accommodate every request. And the food...oh my goodness. It was outstanding. I cannot safe enough good things about Grand Velas. I definitely will be going back!

Yelp
We have been to many of the other Grand Velas Resorts, and this location exceeded the level of service, food quality, and spectacular views of the others. We were able to eat at all the venues at least once. Frida's gives you a tour of top regional Mexican cuisine with the best drink pairings Mexico can offer. Luca the Italian restaurant is very good and beautiful inside like all the others but it is just another above average Italian restaurant. Although the wine pairings at Luca were top quality. Velas 10 steak house was right on the crashing wave shoreline with spectacular views and even more spectacular food. We tried the tomahawk steak, the filet mignon, grilled fish and shellfish selections. The sides of salads, soups, chocolate clams. Velas 10 steakhouse was a highlight. Piaf the high end French offering was a delight for the family. We each had, excessively high quality wines, deserts, main entrees, between meal curated surprises from the chef. Cocina de Autor was a multi course culinary journey with separate wine pairings for each course. The welcome cocktail was specifically designed to get you in the mood for the coming groupings of spectacular over the top quality foods. The after dinner during performance was worth the wait. We ended up booking the two room suite. We had one of the high floor views and totally separate living quarter from the kids. We each had identical suites us a king and the kids two queens, both rooms has small kitchenette bars with fully stocked snack and drinks multiple wines and beers, along with replenished tequilas every few days. Also every few days the staff would bring a special snack like fruit, macrons. the nesspresso machine was fully stocked every day and they even accommodate special requests daily. Both our concierges made sure all,our reservations, activities, likes and dislikes were top of mind everywhere we went. We used the full spa menus a few times that week for special couples massages combined with the magical water ceremonies and rituals. My daughter got a pedicure and manicure. My son sunned and swam everyday, experiencing the amazing pool staff who remember you by name within a few minutes. Check out the pool menus for amazing drinks and authentic local fare. I love how grand Velas allows you to try specific foods from all over Mexico at so many venues. Azul the daily breakfast and lunch venue also has amazing staff who make you feel at home promoting you to try the best offerings in case you missed them. We spent a ton of time at the pools as well as many walks on the beach. Keep in mind this is not a swimming beach. It is extremely dangerous. If you get a chance to got to this fully all inclusive resort, please do so. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Great trip! The food and service was all perfect and the staff was extremely friendly

Yelp
What can I say about Grand Velas in Cabo that would express the absolute attention to detail this place gives. First, the food is not the buffet style garbage you get at an all inclusive. It's a 5 star 5 Diamond resort, just to start. So everything they do, they DO highest end possible. Even the drinks are top shelf and perfection. We had the most amazing butlers you could ask for. Our room was incredible, over looking the most perfect scenery words can't describe. I was a little afraid to come back to Mexico because I had the WORST experience in Cancun 5 months ago but this place is safe, friendly and extraordinary. The only disappointment is leaving this place.

Yelp
I don't understand the amazing reviews this place receives. We have been here twice and both experiences have been very disappointing. The food is generally subpar (particularly the pool food and the guac, which is horrible). We went to every restaurant and only had a couple of good meals. The pool service was really bad on more than one occasion. And when they sent a survey about my experience so far at the resort, I was honest and told them about a bad meal, bad service, a drunk lady blasting a speaker in the adults pool, and getting sick from their smoothie that was probably laying out in the sun all day and spoiled, they awkwardly set up a surprise meeting with the head chef. Very odd. Then we decided to give them another shot, chalking it up to COVID and our experience being a rarity, but it was again very disappointing. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Not only was I complety misled about the type of room I was going to get (and spending $20k), I was completely misled about the fact that if you do not have children this is definitely not the place for you. When I asked to leave upon arrival explaining this, and after waiting in the lobby for 3 hours, the staff informed me that the "corporate office" would not allow it. The Corporate office, which is not on property but in some mysterious location controls everything, and has absolutely no customer service. This is literally the worst resort I have ever been to in Cabo. I have been coming to this town for over 17 years, I cannot express how AWFUL this property is out of anywhere in the world I have been. Thank you for ripping me off and ruining my New Years eve. Shame.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing resort. The amenities that were offered here were fantastic. They had an 80 min massage in their spa for $308 that included an Ice Room, Steam Room, Sauna, and the Water ceremony as well. The room was spacious, the shower was perfect and it also had a jacuzzi inside as well. The service that was here was top-tier as well. I really appreciate Jesus who took care of me and answered my requests (he took down my number and texted me my itinerary and even came within 5 min of problems). Big shoutout to Hector as well. Would highly recommend this resort and would definitely come back!

Yelp
I did the painting class today. Carmen, America, and one other very kind lady helped teach us how to paint a beautiful ocean scene. The care for helping people and the patience of this staff is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone. I enjoyed this class so much that it will likely be the highlight of my trip!

Yelp
Wow. There are not enough words to describe our experience to this resort. It was my first trip to Mexico and I was so blown away by Grand Velas in every aspect. Atmosphere- the hotel is so grand- from the modern lobby, to the lush grounds, beautiful 3 pools (1 adults only infinity pool), and the large gorgeous rooms, there is nothing lacking in terms of the ambience. The several restaurants on property were also beautifully designed, many of them with incredible views of the ocean. The bougainvilleas lining the entire building are spectacular. The hotel is situated right on the beach, and while the ocean is so picturesque, you are not allowed to go in the water because it is fairly rocky and the tides are rough. With that being said, you can walk on the beach and sit in cabanas right next to the ocean if you're not a pool person. The spa is a MUST VISIT- it is by far the best spa experience I've ever had. They have a "water ritual" type multi-pool experience prior to your treatment, the therapists are phenomenal, and the spa design was relaxing and peaceful. Service- the service at this resort is unparalleled anywhere, hands down case closed. From the second we got to the resort, we were blown away by how friendly, helpful, and accommodating everyone was. We were welcomed at check in with glasses of Veuve, and at multiple points during our stay they surprise you with their hospitality in small ways. The resort is also very in tune with safety precautions during covid- the property is extremely clean, rooms are sanitized, every employee wears a mask (many also with face shields), and they are operating at a 50% capacity. Covid tests are provided on site with ease for travel requirements. Food- I was initially hesitant to book this hotel because of the all-inclusive piece of it but the food is excellent. Our favorites were Velas 10 (a steak house- they had a delicious Tomahawk steak that was included in the rate), Lucca (a romantic Italian place), and Azul (excellent breakfast/brunch buffet with incredible ocean views). The cocktails were on point all weekend- they have multiple swim up bars and another on site bar that is open daily until 1am. They have a cute little coffee shop open most of the day for unlimited coffees, frappes, juices etc. Overall, I can't speak highly enough about this place and the cost is 100% worth the spend.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place! We stayed for 5 days and I wish we had stayed double! Service was intensely amazing, all the staff we interacted with were so warm and welcoming. Special shout out to Silvana and her water aerobics class and to all the pool bartenders that made countless mocktails for all the kids without once rolling their eyes. The food, the FOOD, was amazing, best all inclusive food we've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The hotel was clean, well appointed pools were perfect and clean. I hope to make it back soon, thank you for an amazing stay!

Yelp
While we had an unfortunate first night the staff did everything in their power to make the remaining 5 nights so memorable for our family! Carlos, the GM was so kind and shared his love of wine with us. He made sure we were beyond happy. Monica, Nishme, Jair, Jesus, Daniel...the list goes on! The staff is wonderful, the location is a dream, the events, the food all superb. Mil Gracias!
