Great location in the center of Chieti, easy to explore the town on foot. We walked to to Cathedral of San Guistino and the Civitella. There’s an open air market downtown on Tuesdays and Fridays.||||To check in, you have to find street parking. After checking in, you get an access code for the free parking area behind the hotel. We had two adjoining rooms which shared a bathroom and a large outdoor terrace. The view from the terrace was stunning, especially at sunset. The room was clean and adequate, about what you’d expect for $50/night. Bathroom shower was a sprayer with a mount on the wall that didn’t really hold it in a useable position. Beds were comfortable and clean, and the AC worked well. There was no safe in the room. Wifi was good.||||The complimentary breakfast was meager: coffee, croissants, and pre-packaged items. No fresh fruit. But I almost didn’t notice because the view from the dining room was so stunning!

Located near the Main Street, Corso Marrucini, this hotel has a special charm and a view from its balcony that’s hard to beat. The staff are friendly and helpful. And, on those nights you don’t feel like going out, the restaurant right on premises is a fine choice, serving delicious Abruzzese food. They make the pasta and if you like hot peppers, they have the pepperncini (hot peppers in oil) on top of spaghetti alla chitarra will make your day (or evening) |The rooms are nice enough, clean and well kept. There is a modern screen TV, but if you don’t know Italian, you’re out of luck. However, the WiFi is excellent, free and in all the rooms so that really isn’t a problem. The water pressure is a little weak. I was on the second floor and had to wait for the shower to heat up. But that might not be their fault. |All in all, this is a fine choice of a hotel/restaurant if you want to partake in the local life and be near all the sights of this beautiful town.

This hotel is a real interpretation of "old world charm". It is well located. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the new town. Lonely planet really disses this place stating " the rooms are more dusty than grande". Not ture. The staff are friendly and very helpful. My room was large with a large bathroom. Also there was a bathtub in the bathroom. Bonus. How often do you come across a bathtub in Europe. Large tub as well. Really enjoyed my stay here. Breakfast is basically coffee and a pastery buth that's what I usually have any way. Loney Planet needs to reasses this hotel as well as the town. Chieti is an important piece of Italy's history. There is a museum that exmplains the various "tribes" and the evolution of Chieti. Need to spend at least a full day here!

Well-located in the historic centre of Chieti, within walking distance to attractions and very close to the bus stop. Clean and quiet room with great view across to mountains. Friendly and helpful staff.||There is an attached restaurant downstairs with great views and a small but varied menu. The hotel breakfast is modest.||The tiny lift to upper floors contrasts with nice staircase||Wifi does not work in rgw restaurant.

I travelled here with my family in Christmas 2012 (sorry that it has taken so long to write this). One gets the immediate feeling that this hotel would have been very grand in it's day. Whilst the decor and rooms are dated and kitschy, the hotel is very clean and we loved the continental breakfasts in the foyer amongst all the plants. As we were visiting family we were fed too well and unable to try the restaurant. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and booking from Australia was a breeze. The views are amazing and Chieti is a lovely town. I'd rather stay somewhere like this than a modern, soulless hotel. We'll be back!

I have spent a number of weeks in this hotel over the last 4 years. It is simple, eclectic and very clean. The staff are always on hand to help out with any problems. If you want a slick modern generic chain hotel then this is not for you. If you want a taste of real Italy then my advice is to give it a go.

Wonderful customer service, beautiful views and big balconies, very clean rooms. We had everything we needed and more, the only thing missing was a minibar. The restaurant is great and the breakfast is simple but complete :)

Not a chain hotel or a modern one but for our visit it was perfect. My wife's fathers family emigrated from chieti to the US around 1920. The hotel is centrally located for our trip down memory lane of stories about gathering water from the town well, the church where her father was Christened and the clothes drying on lines over the street..... amazingly all still there. The rooms were older and simple. A windy night caused a heavy wooden window shutter to clatter and my clumsy attempt to fix it resulted in a badly cut finger- not really the hotels fault. All in all we would stay there again.
