There's no shortage of excellent restaurants in Paris, but the Grand Brasserie in the 4th arrondissement stands out! The food was superb. I had the pork belly, my son had the duck, and my wife had the tuna. All were perfectly cooked. And the pork belly (which I've never figured out how to cook) was truly wonderful. Crunchy outside, done to perfection inside. Not at all dry, as sometimes happens.
The service, however, really stands out. I did something foolish: I accidentally spilled my wine onto the plate. I asked for another plate, but instead, the maitre'd insisted that they would make the dish over again. Which they did, and the second version was just as good as the first.
I cannot recommend Grande Brasserie highly enough. They not only serve excellent food, they are also very nice, very generous people.
