Orlando during the holiday season is a sight to see!
We love staying at the Ritz Carlton when we visit the area. It's a beautiful hotel which is freshly remodeled with lots of amenities on site. The outdoor pool area is beautiful on a sunny day. The gym is well equipped with premium equipment. The restaurants offered top-notch food with reasonable prices, considering where you are. With regards to the rooms, everything is at or above Ritz Carlton, quality with regards to comfort and design. Overall, a wonderful place to stay... Especially when the prices are reasonable.
Fishing, mountain biking, and other activities are available to do for fun during the day. These are included if you have the American Express perks. We especially like the mountain bike trail, which was a new addition and very exciting.
We decided to stay here over the holiday time into Christmas Day and unfortunately, it wasn't the typical Ritz Carlton experience. Let me start off by saying that it was still very nice and with regards to room, cleanliness, and the amenities, our stay was great. However, it seemed like the staff were flustered the entire time we were there. Upon check-in, we were told of a few things that we were supposed to be given with our American Express complimentary perks, but we never received them.
Throughout our stay, we asked for a few additional smaller items, one of which was a lint roller. We were told that if it was possible they would bring it up and never heard from them again with a yes or no. Additionally, upon arrival we were told we would be given a glass of champagne for our aniversary that never arrived to our room & nothing was heard of that again.
During checkout, we called down for the luggage cart on two occasions, because the first time nobody showed. And then, lastly, our checkout process, and receiving our car from valet, had a few messy issues along the way, including them not being able to find our car keys.
We come to this location rather frequently as we live only a few hours south, so we are familiar with how things are normally run there and this just wasn't up to par. This may be due to it being holiday times, but considering that we paid nearly double the typical nightly rate, for a less than typical Ritz Carlton experience, it's a little frustrating.
That being said, I would not consider this typical for this hotel, and I would still easily recommend the Ritz. Separately, these issues would be minuscule and probably ignored. However, since there were so many of them, I felt I needed to mention them in this review.
