We went for a New Year celebrations and stayed for 5 days in this hotel. It is definitely a beautiful place and the New Year gala was very good. Most of the time the service was fine, the room was large and the girls did a great job keeping it clean and the breakfast was very good. However, there are some points for improvement: 1. the queues at the breakfast are ridiculous, often you wait 15 minutes to get in, but prompt at 11am the staff gets a second life and starts clearing the buffet. I wish they were as organised trough the whole morning with changing the tables so the guests don't need to queue. 2. The restaurant is small for the amount of the rooms so it is difficult to get in, the menu is disappointing and not adequate in quality for the price you pay for. I would recommend to eat dinner and lunch in the town. 3. There is reservation needed for the bar which is again ridiculous: how do you know in the morning if you want a drink in the evening? People in the bar come and go, you can always stand at the bar, the chairs will be free at some point. 4. The Pupp cafe has again a queue. The guest of the hotel should have a priority. 5. Some of the staff make an impression of doing you a favour of serving you. On many occasions you get the feeling that the Czech guests get a better treatment than the other nationality guests.|Overall the place could be so much better and provide a better value for the money.

We arrived a little early and were greeted by warm welcoming staff. Not only was our room ready, but we were also upgraded to a premiere suite which was amazing!! Bed was very comfortable, lighting including chandeliers and all lamps created wonderful ambience. Air conditioning controls in multiple rooms. Wonderful views across the river and down the road in both directions. Absolutely magical. Breakfast buffet was superb, and as we needed to leave early in the morning to catch our flight home (5am), reception had prepared takeaway breakfasts for us, without request. Exceeded our expectations - would recommend to everyone! Thank you very much

Architectural beauty and mother nature combined. The attention to detail, down to the brass cover on the door hinges, reminded me that there was a time when we created things to be beautiful. The salt cave was one of my favourite parts of my trip. The temperature of the room and the wool blankets helped my body melt into a deep and restorative sleep I didn't know I needed. The staff, for the most part, was incredibly helpful. I especially liked one of the porters, who answered my questions about the hotel's history and shared his own love for the history and beauty of the space.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the annex, not the main hotel, but it was still amazing and classy. We were inspired to come here from the move "Last Holiday" now we are inspired to come here based on our experience. Only negative is, it is a challenge to drive here from Germany, but it's worth the winding roads.

The property is beautiful and the service was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. My boyfriend and I had a great time spending quality and very romantic time together. We even got engaged and the staff allowed for my Fiancé and photographer to take pictures of us in a plot to propose at the entrance of the hotel. I didn’t suspect a thing and will Sherri’s this beautiful memory for the rest of my life.

The hotel is very beautiful, but the service expectations are quite different. Advantages:They have quite cute presents for children. Disadvantages: The staff is unpleasant. Check-in is at 3 pm, we arrived at 1:30 pm, no one even checked if the room was available, they said check-in is at 3 pm, but by 3 pm there are already 30 people at the reception and only two staff members. Nowhere in other hotels there is no rule the spa needs to be left by 12 pm. The staff only told about this at 11 am. In all hotels, no one has ever kicked us out before. On booking it should be at least written that spa zone is for free till 12.00. We asked to have our suitcase brought to the room, but an hour later it still hadn't arrived, so we had to go back down and ask them again. The gentleman at the parking lot was also unfriendly. They indicated breakfast was in one place, but in the old building, the dining room is much nicer and more cozy. It feels like discrimination.

We went to Grand Hotel Pupp this past October for our honeymoon and it was an absolute dream come true! I have wanted to go here since the movie Last Holiday and I was not disappointed. The room, the spa, amenities, restaurants, bar, cafe, food and friendliness of everyone made this trip an absolute joy. We really appreciated Mohammed our server each night. He showed us really great wine pairings and made us laugh and enjoy the experience even more. Our dog was welcome almost everywhere and he had an amazing trip too! We watched Casino Royale in our room and explored the beautiful area. Overall I would highly recommend this luxurious classic hotel!

I wanted to stay at Grandhotel Pupp for some time and I was very excited to do so. The hotel is beautiful. Great location. The mountain is right behind it and the river is at the front. I enjoyed staying there. You get complimentary water, tea and espresso in your room. There is mini bar as well. The breakfast is included. The rooms are luxurious, nice and clean. Bathrope and slippers included. You can relax and the spa or pool area. If you don't want to dine in the hotel there are other choices nearby. The only downfall was the service. To be more specific we were relaxing in the steam room and apparently the closing time was approaching and a lady from the staff came and started yelling at us and other guests that they are closing. I understand that we lost track of time, but she could've been nice and respectful instead of being rude. I couldn't believe someone can be so unprofessional. That was very unpleasant and disappointing experience.

Yelp
This place is simply a must visit. Whenever we come to Karlovy Vary, we try to come here to have at least a cup of coffee and some nice cake or a glass of wine. The charm and ambiance is simply unique even though the service is not always the greatest.

Yelp
Stopped in here to have a quick lunch at the cafe near the entrance. It's called the Cafe Pupp and they have good sandwiches and desserts. Wandered into the hotel and found the room where Bond at caviar and toast points in Casino Royale.

Yelp
WAS THIS GOOD OR WHAT?! Yea, it was a little difficult to find, but once you're there, I screamed "I'm living in a castle tonight". The nightview and daylight view of this hotel was gorgeous! Walking inside, the main reception area COULD be a little more grand, as it seemed a little crammed. There were red carpets EVERYWHERE, although the elevators were a bit old, it really had a distinct design. The food. We had a late night dinner here and the appetizer and main was amazing. The salad tasted fresh as the fruits were juicy and the lettuce was crunchy. The main was my favourite. I asked the waiter what the fish was. He barely spoke English and replied "Um, Czech Fish". Though it had bones in it, I loved this fish. Another bonus was that the potatoes on the side weren't fried, but sprinkled with herbs. That's an added bonus for being healthy. The dessert was meh, seemed like an average cake with a nice piece of chocolate in it. Grandhotel Pupp also has a casino for those who want to come down and bet their luck. The environment is beautiful as it's surrounded by spring water and many unique shops. It felt like European high class Blue Mountain Village (for those of you who are around Southern Ontario region).

Yelp
Karlovy Vary aka Carlsbad is Charles IV in czech (king of Bohemia) founder n 1370 of the most gorgeous spa town i've ever laid my eyes (and butt) on. it sits in a forested valley ringed by hills, river Teplà running through it's center, banks lined with an eclectic mix of renaissance and art noveau bldgs. i hear in the history of conflict among european kingdoms, détente was observed when it's leaders repaired here for a cure. came for a soak in the hot springs of this baroque hotel in mid-90s, again in 2006, the spa since modernized. accomodations are as grand as it's name, i wouldn't think to stay anywhere else (+ Café Pupp breakfast buffet is epic). tip: approx 2.5hrs by car/bus from Prague. must get a porcelain karlovy vary spa cup for drinking curative waters (drawn from abt a dozen wells) at the Mill Colonnade or other thermal stations. signs are posted with mineral content and particular benefits.
