Grandhotel Pupp

I had the most amazing time at the Pupp! From the door, I was assisted with my bags, all the way to the reception (I came in through the other connecting entrance).|My room was beautiful, quite spacious and comfortable. The hotel’s historic atmosphere is exceptional, location is amazing and everything about the hotel is gorgeous. Quite well maintained despite being in existence for generations. I was excited to have dinner at the Grandrestaurant. |I booked a spa treatment also, that was nothing short of professional too. Totally recommend, I even extended my stay by one night!

This hotel is gorgeous and steeped in history. Check in was very easy and our room was available earlier than anticipated. We used the spa for an entire afternoon including the saunas, steam rooms and relaxation area. The pool is too cold for my taste and there were some screeching children that interrupted my relaxation time but otherwise it was great. The Christmas decorations were tastefully done both inside and outside the hotel. Our room was lovely with tea service. Concierge was very helpful and we loved the pillow menu and evening room service. Breakfast was a nice affair with plenty of choice and pleasant service. Dinner in the grand restaurant was excellent.

I've wanted to stay in the Grand Hotel Pupp since watching that famous Queen Latifah movie. I'm sure many hotel guests past and present have felt that way. ||Truth be told, the hotel IS Grand. Very grand from the outside. The facade is quite spectacular, especially at night with the Christmas decorations. ||Unfortunately, inside the hotel, it is very underwhelming. Best part is the reception, which was staffed with polite and responsive personnel. They were indeed helpful. ||I booked a suite which turned out to be on the 1st floor, which wasn't what I had hoped for, but it was large, newly repainted and refurbished. Unfortunately, it was VERY cold, especially the large bathroom. The room itself was huge, with a separate sitting area, but very spartan and minimal in terms of items and amenities provided. Not what you'd expect of a more than six hundred euros a night hotel room. Even the turn down service did not include any water at the bedside. ||The bathroom showers were ok, in terms of water pressure. The bed and bedding was alright, although the bedsheets felt rough and coarse. ||Breakfast was your standard European fare, but with nothing cooked to order. Everything was laid out in the buffet spread, which after day 2, seemed very boring. But it was the servers / waitresses who were the most disappointing. Clearly, they received very little service training. I asked for coffee from one staff and all she replied was "this isn't my area!". And you could see the staff chatting amongst each other looking completely disinterested in serving any of the customers. Very low energy staff, especially the younger ones. Zero motivation. ||The same could be said of the spa which is apparently famous, but I can't quite understand why. The two times I went, it was overly crowded, noisy and chaotic. Not a good experience at all. ||If your desire is to stay in this hotel, my advice is think twice.

Staying at Grandhotel Pupp felt like stepping onto a film set. As a fan of Casino Royale and Last Holiday, seeing the iconic facade in person was truly special. ​Our riverside room was stunning; the high ceilings added a sense of historic grandeur that you just don’t find in modern hotels. The highlight, however, was the breakfast—the variety and quality were exceptional. It’s a perfect blend of cinematic glamour and genuine comfort. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Karlovy Vary!

I came mainly for the spa, but that was less than what I had hoped. For the most part, the staff was kind and helpful but I do see what others mean by less than friendly service. The one person that was most impressive to me was my waiter at the Grand restaurant. He had only been working there for 2 days. He had a trainee name tag on, and he was the most professional I encountered! I had many spa treatments but only one impressed me, the Resilience Ritual and the young lady who did it was lovely. One staff member was friendly and said I absolutely needed to go to breakfast because it was so beautiful…. He figured out that I was at the parkside bldg and with a conciliatory tone said “ohh, well that’s nice too..” 😆 I enjoyed my breakfast. On a last sad note I hauled my luggage out and went to whom appeared to be the valet and asked for a taxi, and he told me I needed to go back inside and ask the front desk.

The Grandhotel Pupp was an overall amazing experience. The room is big and has everything one might need. The service within the Hotel is excellent, from the luggage service, up to the rich breakfast and the Grandhotel restaurant, every thing was great. A few points which I might highlight: - the hotel is great and huge, but not easy to understand where is what. When checking in a short summery of the services would have been appriciated. - the spa is amazing, but I was expecting it to be bigger. - the bar at the Malà Dvorana has no bartender, for such an amazing hotel I was expecting that a Dry Martini would be possible without any issue. This unfortunately was not the case. We were suggestet to wait the opening of the Becher's Bar.

We had a wonderful stay at Grandhotel Pupp and were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our visit. The hotel’s historic atmosphere is unique, the location is beautiful, and everything is perfectly maintained. Our room was comfortable and quiet, the spa and massage experience was excellent, and the dinner at the Grandrestaurant was a real highlight. The service throughout the hotel was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. An ideal choice for a romantic getaway.

The hotel is amazing—everything was great, and I will definitely come again. The girls at breakfast were so kind. You should also visit the casino. The casino has a beautiful interior, and the atmosphere inside is calm and pleasant. Some comments about the dress code surprised me; of course a casino has a dress code!

Came with my friend we went to the spa but did not stay at the hotel. The hotel design and the facilities were amazing the staff was warm as well. We felt bad we did not stay there, highly recommend!

This place is simply a must visit. Whenever we come to Karlovy Vary, we try to come here to have at least a cup of coffee and some nice cake or a glass of wine. The charm and ambiance is simply unique even though the service is not always the greatest.

Stopped in here to have a quick lunch at the cafe near the entrance. It's called the Cafe Pupp and they have good sandwiches and desserts. Wandered into the hotel and found the room where Bond at caviar and toast points in Casino Royale.

WAS THIS GOOD OR WHAT?! Yea, it was a little difficult to find, but once you're there, I screamed "I'm living in a castle tonight". The nightview and daylight view of this hotel was gorgeous! Walking inside, the main reception area COULD be a little more grand, as it seemed a little crammed. There were red carpets EVERYWHERE, although the elevators were a bit old, it really had a distinct design. The food. We had a late night dinner here and the appetizer and main was amazing. The salad tasted fresh as the fruits were juicy and the lettuce was crunchy. The main was my favourite. I asked the waiter what the fish was. He barely spoke English and replied "Um, Czech Fish". Though it had bones in it, I loved this fish. Another bonus was that the potatoes on the side weren't fried, but sprinkled with herbs. That's an added bonus for being healthy. The dessert was meh, seemed like an average cake with a nice piece of chocolate in it. Grandhotel Pupp also has a casino for those who want to come down and bet their luck. The environment is beautiful as it's surrounded by spring water and many unique shops. It felt like European high class Blue Mountain Village (for those of you who are around Southern Ontario region).

Karlovy Vary aka Carlsbad is Charles IV in czech (king of Bohemia) founder n 1370 of the most gorgeous spa town i've ever laid my eyes (and butt) on. it sits in a forested valley ringed by hills, river Teplà running through it's center, banks lined with an eclectic mix of renaissance and art noveau bldgs. i hear in the history of conflict among european kingdoms, détente was observed when it's leaders repaired here for a cure. came for a soak in the hot springs of this baroque hotel in mid-90s, again in 2006, the spa since modernized. accomodations are as grand as it's name, i wouldn't think to stay anywhere else (+ Café Pupp breakfast buffet is epic). tip: approx 2.5hrs by car/bus from Prague. must get a porcelain karlovy vary spa cup for drinking curative waters (drawn from abt a dozen wells) at the Mill Colonnade or other thermal stations. signs are posted with mineral content and particular benefits.
