Hotel Yasmin

"Prague has Gothic spires and Baroque curlicues aplenty, but modern designer hotels have long been a local rarity. Enter the Yasmin, which combines outlandish retro-futuristic décor with moderate prices. Don’t expect fluffy robes, fancy vanity sets or slippers. But each of the 198 rooms (including 11 suites) has plenty of pleasing touches, including hidden jasmine-leaf motifs which make even the smallest doubles seem new again on the second day. The sage-and-sand color scheme, sleek fabrics and funky light fixtures come from Czech designers Barbora Skorpilova and Jan Nedved, who also created the hotel’s far-out restaurant and bar, where dozens of furry orange sculptures and large silver globes create a Seuss-like atmosphere. Despite the low prices — look for even better bargains via internet bookings — Hotel Yasmin feels like it could cost twice as much, with a great location near Wenceslas Square, a well-equipped workout room, sauna, and surprisingly gracious service."

Hotel has a pleasant lobby and staff were helpful on arrival letting us store our bags in their secure luggage room. We arrived before 10am so dumping our bags meant having a full day of freedom to explore without baggage.|We found the hotel to be ideally located with regards to visiting local areas of interest. A real strong point for the hotel.|We later checked in at 4pm and that was pretty straight forward. We were given room 230 on the second floor. Supposedly a deluxe room. Deluxe is not deluxe. It’s just standard. Clean and spacious. No view but I think not being street facing was possibly for the best with regards to street noise. |Nice sized bathroom but shower space in the bath was small. And towels were not deluxe either, on the small side and tired. Plenty of shower gel provided, and body lotion. Also little vanity kits. Hairdryer also in bathroom but not powerful. |Tea/coffee/kettle in the room but everything else in the minibar, you pay for. So we found a little supermarket called Albert. It was a few minutes walk from the hotel and you could miss it but you have to go down some steps to get to it (underground almost). We were able to keep bits in the fridge in the room. |The room had a great tv, not that we came to Prague to watch tv but after a 3am start, several hours of travel and then 6 hours of sightseeing on foot (nearly 25k steps), we were exhausted after our evening meal, so whilst we tried a bit of a walk around, we found ourselves quickly giving up and succumbing to the lovely big and comfortable bed in the room - another plus. We popped on Netflix and Amazon stuff we’d been watching at home and let our legs and feet get some rest! |Breakfast - good choice but don’t expect British bacon. Cereals, breads, a variety of meats and cheeses. Coffee was lovely. |We found the staff at the hotel to be friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean including rooms and communal areas etc. |I would recommend this hotel and would would return to stay here.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent location. Close to train station. Walking dostanve to the old town woth all its historical sites. Amazing breakfast. |Room was bit small but enough for us as we only slept there really. To get to the hotel was a bit of mission as there are mirrors on the walls everywhere. Hotel doesn't look big from outside but it is massive. |Just be aware they offer transport service. Would charge you 400 to the train station. Which is literally 5 minutes walking distance. Guy at the reception at check in was asking for my card number to write it down just in case we consume something from mini bar to charge me later. I refused and he said that was normal practice.|But other than that we had really nice stay.

Check- in was smooth and the member of staff was very friendly and thorough. We were offered a discounted room upgrade option but decided not to take it. |Our room was perfect. Spacious, extremely clean and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a great size, with hand soap, body lotion, body and hair wash, bar of soap, hair conditioner and a little vanity kit. There was a mini bar but we didn't use it. There was a kettle and a hair dryer. The air conditioning was very much appreciated in 32°C!|The lobby bar is bright and cool with good value drinks and friendly staff. |We didn't book a food package with our room, but found so many amazing places to eat anywhere from a 5 minute to 20 minute walk away.|The location is fantastic. 15 min walk to old town square, 5 min walk to wenceslas square. Less than 10 min walk from the bus station (Airport Express bus 30 mins 100CZK).

Google
hotel with very strategic location, close to shopping center, old town, other interesting places. cleanliness is maintained, breakfast is very diverse, simple, and delicious. at that time we checked out at dawn, and the restaurant staff was very kind to provide breakfast to go, which should have been informed before, but we don’t know, so we really appreciate this. clean and spacious room, spacious bathroom. very fast and friendly service. we really enjoy to stay here.

On arrival, the front of the house staff was very informative and polite. Our room was very clean. We had lots of accessories robes, shower gel, shower caps, and tea making facilities. You could also purchase water crisps wine from a mini bar, not a bad price. The breakfast was a buffet style lots to choose from, even had an omelette and waffle station this was made fresh in front of you while you waited. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone it's in walking distance to old town, 10 minutes, 3 minutes for shops and a national museum.|We booked our excursion from the hotel, and they sorted our transports getting around if required. |All the staff we have come in contact with have been extremely nice and welcoming.|Wonderful city and experience ❤️

Google
Legitimately the nicest hotel we’ve been at. Staff are amazing, the hotel breakfast is unreal. Included with your stay, it’s a complimentary breakfast unlike anything we’ve seen before. Super clean and well kept. Would definitely stay here again.

This centrally located hotel offers convenient access to major attractions, shopping, and dining. It combines comfort, modern amenities, and unbeatable city-center proximity Only 1 thing to improve is earlier room makeup, as ours wasn’t cleaned by 3 PM after we came back from outside

Nice hotel - very comfortable. Great location. Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Lovely breakfast. ||We had 60 minute massages in the Spa here. I explained that I had spinal surgery and my Masseuse was very careful to accommodate that. The massage was excellent. The Spa itself is beautiful and I would recommend it 100%.||However, I did have a problem with the bathroom. The anti-slip stickers in the shower were very worn and not effective - I slipped the first day and could have really injured myself.||The floor is extremely slippy and the shower doors are inadequate. My daughter had a very bad fall there and hit her head really badly. |When I called reception to get a doctor, they told me that it was Sunday and no doctor was available (according to the information App., a doctor is available 24/7). They suggested an ambulance - but my daughter didn't want that. To be fair - they called us back a few minutes later and said they could 'google a doctor' and it would cost €500. I wanted to do it - but my daughter refused. |They were very anxious for my daughter to sign a waiver - which she refused to do until the following morning. She was refused entry to breakfast until she went to reception to sign the waiver the next morning. ||Also, there was no food available in the hotel after 10 p.m. We wanted to eat late because my daughter had no appetite following her accident. I had to settle for a rather unpleasant fast-food take-away !! Even a decent sandwich or snack would have been preferable.||Overall, a very pleasant stay. I would recommend the hotel and will stay there again ..... but please, please address the bathroom issues. Otherwise, there will be a very serious accident ......

Yelp
Hotel Grandium has the best breakfast buffet. The hotel is also centrally located. It is walking distance to the famous sites like the Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if the chance to return arises.

Yelp
We spent a few days in Prague for a conference and stayed at Hotel Grandium. Rooms were clean and spacious enough for us. Hotel is located near Old Town and New Town. Great location as it is within easy walking distance of most popular sites. Breakfast buffet is good at the Hotel. They also have a bar with a very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Worst hotel I've ever been to. Move away Below is our experience. An unfriendly attitude of the staff and a lack of personal communication, very small rooms, a carpet that should have been replaced a long time ago and caused us an allergy, small transparent towels that should also have been replaced a long time ago, an aircondition that do as he likes, the view from the window is a wall about 50 meters away. Our friends we met at the hotel think like us. We will not go back there.

Yelp
This is a very pleasant hotel right by where the action is in Prague. It's a really nice hotel - pleasant staff and beautiful decor. We had no issues with anything - I only mention that since a few of the review mention problems with their rooms. I was particularly pleased with the cafe. The service is great. And, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Right in the area are plenty of restaurants, many of which are classic Czech food. However, note that some of these are tourist traps - know where you go before you do. Also, there are some wonderful museums and historic buildings within walking distance of the hotel. Comments about currency exchanges - someone mentioned the rate at the hotel. While I can't comment on that, I can say there are places where you can change money at a fair rate. But, since Krona (Crowns) are only used in the Czech Republic, don't change too much or you will lose when you try to change the currency back.

Yelp
I've stayed at a handful of hotels in Old Town Prague, and I would definitely stay here again when it's as good a value as it was for this stay. The historic building tucked away off the main streets is an easy walk to the train station and all of Old Town. There are to good Czech restaurants within a block. The lobby and rooms have all been made modern without being over the top. Included breakfast is very good, with just about everything an American, Brit, or continental European might be looking for. There was even sparkling wine for mimosas.

Yelp
We had a lot of issues at this hotel as it pertains to the shower. They turned off the hot water one of the nights and I was unable to shower. I called the front desk at 9:30pm and was told that they run out of hot water because too many people showered so I have to wait half an hour. 3 hours later and still no hot water. The next day nothing had changed and when I called down to the front desk I was told that the boiler is broken and they are working on it. I couldn't wait around for them to fix the problem so I ended up washing myself with wet towels and using cold water in the sink to wash my hair. It was not a pleasurable experience as it was 30 degrees outside but I couldn't go 2 days without showering after walking 8 miles a day. On another day, our shower backed up and water was up to my ankles. I called maintenance who came down and "fixed" the problem. The next day the water wouldn't drain again and it flooded the bathroom and the nearby hallway carpet. I had to stand in ankle deep water at midnight and attempt to dry myself. One of their workers came up to my room and tried to clean up the mess with towels but the carpet stayed wet the entire stay. I was not offered any upgrades, apologies, maybe a free drink at the bar or anything else by management. I can see that another customer got upgraded to the suite for the hot water situation yet we had two issues and had to stay in a room with a wet entry way. Apparently I should have made a bigger deal of the issue but considering how busy our schedule was I just didn't have the time to complain over and over again. The positive aspects of this hotel are the following: -Location is pretty central but on a quiet street. -The breakfast buffet is very good and after leaving I missed having the ability to go downstairs and have breakfast that someone else prepares. Special shout out to the complimentary champagne and beet/apple juice shots. The neutral aspects of this hotel are the following: -Our double occupancy room was small, faced another building but had all you need. -The workers were nice and helped me with going on a tour but she also sent me to a metro station that was under construction and closed. I am sure most people do not experience issues like we did in regards to the shower and water shortages so I would not be hesitant to stay here if that is in your plans. However, management should have reached out to us after I complained numerous times and either moved our room or offered some small act of good measure which did not happen.

Yelp
Great hotel! Very accommodating and very friendly staff! I was able to try out the spa and it was the best massage I've ever had. Delicious food, coffee and tea in the rooms, and the English speaking staff were helpful. Will be staying here the next time I visit the city. Thank you

Yelp
Three night stay in deluxe double. PROS: Nice room, quiet side street, close to train station, trams and metro station. Hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet from 0630 to 1030 is outstanding both in variety and quality. CON: Currency exchange at desk was less than 21 CZK for USD when market rate was more than 23.
