Hotel Yasmin

"Prague has Gothic spires and Baroque curlicues aplenty, but modern designer hotels have long been a local rarity. Enter the Yasmin, which combines outlandish retro-futuristic décor with moderate prices. Don’t expect fluffy robes, fancy vanity sets or slippers. But each of the 198 rooms (including 11 suites) has plenty of pleasing touches, including hidden jasmine-leaf motifs which make even the smallest doubles seem new again on the second day. The sage-and-sand color scheme, sleek fabrics and funky light fixtures come from Czech designers Barbora Skorpilova and Jan Nedved, who also created the hotel’s far-out restaurant and bar, where dozens of furry orange sculptures and large silver globes create a Seuss-like atmosphere. Despite the low prices — look for even better bargains via internet bookings — Hotel Yasmin feels like it could cost twice as much, with a great location near Wenceslas Square, a well-equipped workout room, sauna, and surprisingly gracious service."

We have stayed at this hotel before a few times now, and have happily returned. The staff are still very welcoming on reception. Our room was fine, spacious , no view to speak of but we did just use the hotel as a base exploring. It was a quiet room and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included which was plentiful. The restaurant can get quite busy but you are welcomed with a friendly member of staff offering a Buck’s Fizz or juice to take into breakfast which is a nice touch. The foyer is beautiful and always clean as is the rest of the hotel. On the day of check out we were able to leave our luggage for the day, and the gentleman dealing with the luggage, who was there on previous occasions, is very helpful. We ordered a taxi for the airport through reception, this was on time, and when it arrived, the member of staff informed us it had arrived, took our luggage out to the car for us which I really appreciated, thankyou. This is a hotel which cares about its guests and clearly has pride. We would not hesitate to return and I recommend staying here as the location is excellent for exploring Prague.

Wonderful location for a hotel and easy walking distance of the old town and the river. The hotel was clean and staff were really friendly. They allowed us leave our luggage with them until we checked in later that afternoon which was greatly appreciated, as we arrived on an early morning flight, and on the morning we checked out we were able to leave luggage again with them as we had a late flight back. The breakfast was exceptional we've never seen so much choice! Our room and bathroom was very clean and tidy. We would definitely book again with the Grandium Hotel without hesistation a solid 10 out of 10!

Stayed at this charming hotel just minutes from Prague’s Old Town Square — the location is unbeatable for exploring, yet surprisingly quiet for a restful night. 💤✨ The room was cozy and well-kept, and the breakfast spread was a great start to the day, especially the made-to-order omelets! The only downside was the shower — it had a half door, making it nearly impossible to shower without soaking the entire bathroom. Definitely something they should improve by installing a fully enclosed setup. Overall, still a lovely stay!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The entire reception team were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant staff we saw during dinner were polite and attentive. The hotel was very clean, the rooms spotless, perfectly located and very comfortable. The food was fresh and tasty, and every request we had – including when we needed an electrical adapter or soap refills – was handled quickly. Václav gave us a warm welcome at check-in, helped with the luggage, and showed us to our room while patiently answering all our questions. At check-out we received the same kind and professional treatment, which left a wonderful final impression. Service throughout our stay truly went above and beyond expectations – highly recommended

Let's begin with great things. The location of the hotel is great, near old town and main train station and you can really visit a lot of stuff just walking, no need of any kind of transportation. I can't say who was more friendly, the stuff in the restaurant or the reception stuff. They all speak perfectly English and they are there for all your questions 24/7. Also hotel can make most of your arrangements, if you know what you would like to see or visit, just ask. Breakfast is also good, but not if you are vegan. In that case you probably need to ask for something special. Now the less great things: We were in the room 644. The room has a big humidity mark under the window and it has very bad small, which probably means mold. Hotel with 5 Stars cannot have molded walls. Also carpet between 2 beds had an awful feet small and the pillows smelled like unwashed hair. 😒. Evan though dinner was great ( we had breakfast and dinner included) it would be nice if the menu with just few choices is daily different. If you stay longer and you like only one of dishes, you are stuck with it every night. And the last but not least, pick up drivers are awful. They are very unfriendly, they don't speak english or just a little and our drive (3 women) from airport and back was very uncomfortable and unpleasant.

A lovely hotel with a fabulous location. I took the AirPort Express bus from the airport and the drop off point is 7 minutes away from the hotel which was very handy. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk away from Wenceslas square. Check in was very quick and efficient. The room was lovely, clean and very quiet. The bathroom was nice. The only niggle was the shower screen was about a third too short which resulted in the bathroom floor getting very very wet each day. ||The buffet breakfast was excellent. Plenty to pick from and included made to order omelettes and waffles. Although it was busy, no issues getting a table. ||Good bar in the hotel which also had lovely staff. ||Would I stay again, most definitely

Location is absolutely perfect for sure! Rooms are functional. In the renovated parts and higher floors they are better though cleaning could be improved and it's impossible to take a shower without getting water all over the bathroom floors. Breakfast is awesome, lots of options for everyone. In general I think service could be better. Both in reception and in the restaurant but overall recomend. Enjoy this beautiful city ❤️

We stayed at the Grandium Hotel July 3-9. It was a great stay. Wonderful hotel, fantastic location, and welcoming staff. My only complaint is the shower. Several others have mentioned it in reviews. The shower has no curtain. It has this weird 1/2 door thing. Water goes everywhere! So just know you have to get creative!

Yelp
Hotel Grandium has the best breakfast buffet. The hotel is also centrally located. It is walking distance to the famous sites like the Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if the chance to return arises.

Yelp
We spent a few days in Prague for a conference and stayed at Hotel Grandium. Rooms were clean and spacious enough for us. Hotel is located near Old Town and New Town. Great location as it is within easy walking distance of most popular sites. Breakfast buffet is good at the Hotel. They also have a bar with a very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Worst hotel I've ever been to. Move away Below is our experience. An unfriendly attitude of the staff and a lack of personal communication, very small rooms, a carpet that should have been replaced a long time ago and caused us an allergy, small transparent towels that should also have been replaced a long time ago, an aircondition that do as he likes, the view from the window is a wall about 50 meters away. Our friends we met at the hotel think like us. We will not go back there.

Yelp
This is a very pleasant hotel right by where the action is in Prague. It's a really nice hotel - pleasant staff and beautiful decor. We had no issues with anything - I only mention that since a few of the review mention problems with their rooms. I was particularly pleased with the cafe. The service is great. And, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Right in the area are plenty of restaurants, many of which are classic Czech food. However, note that some of these are tourist traps - know where you go before you do. Also, there are some wonderful museums and historic buildings within walking distance of the hotel. Comments about currency exchanges - someone mentioned the rate at the hotel. While I can't comment on that, I can say there are places where you can change money at a fair rate. But, since Krona (Crowns) are only used in the Czech Republic, don't change too much or you will lose when you try to change the currency back.

Yelp
I've stayed at a handful of hotels in Old Town Prague, and I would definitely stay here again when it's as good a value as it was for this stay. The historic building tucked away off the main streets is an easy walk to the train station and all of Old Town. There are to good Czech restaurants within a block. The lobby and rooms have all been made modern without being over the top. Included breakfast is very good, with just about everything an American, Brit, or continental European might be looking for. There was even sparkling wine for mimosas.

Yelp
We had a lot of issues at this hotel as it pertains to the shower. They turned off the hot water one of the nights and I was unable to shower. I called the front desk at 9:30pm and was told that they run out of hot water because too many people showered so I have to wait half an hour. 3 hours later and still no hot water. The next day nothing had changed and when I called down to the front desk I was told that the boiler is broken and they are working on it. I couldn't wait around for them to fix the problem so I ended up washing myself with wet towels and using cold water in the sink to wash my hair. It was not a pleasurable experience as it was 30 degrees outside but I couldn't go 2 days without showering after walking 8 miles a day. On another day, our shower backed up and water was up to my ankles. I called maintenance who came down and "fixed" the problem. The next day the water wouldn't drain again and it flooded the bathroom and the nearby hallway carpet. I had to stand in ankle deep water at midnight and attempt to dry myself. One of their workers came up to my room and tried to clean up the mess with towels but the carpet stayed wet the entire stay. I was not offered any upgrades, apologies, maybe a free drink at the bar or anything else by management. I can see that another customer got upgraded to the suite for the hot water situation yet we had two issues and had to stay in a room with a wet entry way. Apparently I should have made a bigger deal of the issue but considering how busy our schedule was I just didn't have the time to complain over and over again. The positive aspects of this hotel are the following: -Location is pretty central but on a quiet street. -The breakfast buffet is very good and after leaving I missed having the ability to go downstairs and have breakfast that someone else prepares. Special shout out to the complimentary champagne and beet/apple juice shots. The neutral aspects of this hotel are the following: -Our double occupancy room was small, faced another building but had all you need. -The workers were nice and helped me with going on a tour but she also sent me to a metro station that was under construction and closed. I am sure most people do not experience issues like we did in regards to the shower and water shortages so I would not be hesitant to stay here if that is in your plans. However, management should have reached out to us after I complained numerous times and either moved our room or offered some small act of good measure which did not happen.

Yelp
Great hotel! Very accommodating and very friendly staff! I was able to try out the spa and it was the best massage I've ever had. Delicious food, coffee and tea in the rooms, and the English speaking staff were helpful. Will be staying here the next time I visit the city. Thank you

Yelp
Three night stay in deluxe double. PROS: Nice room, quiet side street, close to train station, trams and metro station. Hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet from 0630 to 1030 is outstanding both in variety and quality. CON: Currency exchange at desk was less than 21 CZK for USD when market rate was more than 23.
