"Grandma's Bar, Cbd by Grandma's Bar for 8 Hospitality. Who doesn't like going to Grandma's? One of the only places one can kick back, get cozy and accept hand delivered delights from food to drink and lots of love without feeling the favour need be returned. One of Sydney's first small bars set done a discreet nondescript set of stars lies a small little bar with a focus on cocktails on the flamboyant side and a real kitsch/ tiki flavour."

Once you find your way from the busy streets and down the basement. Kick back and get cosy, the bar staff will tend to you with Tiki cocktail treats. Relaxed small bar which played 80s music whilst we were there (Saturday night). They had jaffles on the menu but unfortunately the machine was broken. I also wouldn't come in with a large group. Smaller the better. Nice place overall, friendly vibe and quick service.

Google
Nice quite place, a little hidden so most people walk straight past it which is good as it is a small style bar. Great mix of cocktails and a fee different ones to your normal mainstream ones. Jaffles/ toasted sandwiches on the menu which really hit the spot after a few drinks. Would recommend for date night or catch ups with 1 or 2 people. Wouldn't go here with a dozen people trying to party.

Great cocktails. Kinda childish jaffles. Overall a cute place but they can certainly add some more stuff to the menu. Service was incredible.

One of the best bars I've ever been to. Very comfortable, the staff was very friendly, the music was good, and the drinks were great. Highly recommend to anyone who likes going for some casual drinks.

A hidden gem of a bar in Sydney CBD that has wonderful cocktails in a cozy setting. The entrance is hidden so you gotta know where to find it. The moose head with miscellaneous woven things that adorn the entryway are a part of this wonderful bar’s quirky charm.

tl;dr.: Lovely, tiny, kitschy hipster bar If you can imagine where hipsters hang out, you'd come up with an idea like this: a tiny (I'd be surprised if more than 30 people would fit) basement, playing a mix of 70s, 80s and 90s music, with ye olde and mismatched decorations. It all really works though, even in the incredibly low light. The menu is also quite limited, but what's there are all excellent. I'd say that this would be a fabulous place for a first date, or like we did, for pre dinner drinks. Navigate downstairs at the entrance, and don't try to climb in through the open window like some idiots did, but this also means that it's not very mobility friendly as the only way to access the venue is via the stairs.

Cocktails and Jaffles yumm 😋 Hidden underground spot in one of the Sydney streets. What a cool cozy place with chilled staff. Absolutely loved it. Worth trying - would return soon !!

Google
Great speakeasy bar specialising in their cocktails. Fairly small space, so would probably ring up (not sure if they do bookings). Not a huge fan of cocktails in general but they were surprisingly delicious, combinations were great and very unique.

Yelp
The thing that makes this place stand out is that I was told off for ordering a beer in a cocktail bar. Honestly, I really don't care all that much considering that I'll order what I like where I like, unless of course it isn't available. Well, despite it being a cocktail bar, that did happen to have beer available here, though I must admit that the place was a little dark, though that probably does add to the atmosphere. Yeah, it was okay, but not one of my favourites.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars on earth. Drinks are solid but the vibe and diversity of clientele are amazing. Bar tenders give off great vibes. They play Australian pop, Hawaiian theme. Hard to find, basement of a building. Everything is good. Spirits are high. It's hard to explain. I plan to visit again, it's been probably 5 years for me.

Yelp
I loved this bar. The drinks are creative and delicious and the service was good! We came on a Friday night and were expecting it to be packed, but surprisingly we were given a table within 10 minutes of arriving. It probably helped that we were only a group of 2, but still. The server came over a couple of times to check on us and take another drink order, which was nice to not have to fight our way to the bar. Be prepared because the drinks aren't cheap, but worth every dollar!

Yelp
Took 5 minutes for me to make the decision that this is the favorite bar out of all the ones I've visited on my Aussie/NZ adventure. First of all, it's tiki based but has elements of a speakeasy as well. The drinks go down way too easy. They are so tasty, but they get you tipped up very easily...I had the knickerbocker & the coco chumbo. Both drinks amazing. Rum based. Sweet but many different flavor elements in both concoctions. And, who has a Tom Selleck 'Magnum PI' thing-of-a-jig that holds straws and cocktail making things? (I have huge crush on Tom Selleck, so that's secret is out now). And Magnum PI? That's a reach into the childhood. It's little crazy things like that that will make a place a keepsake. Not to mention that they're nostalgic about places their barkeep have visited in the world by having a wall with different money denoms on it. And then there was a Three Dots and A Dash reference. And the music they were playing... Very eclectic, many different genres and eras. Many things played into the atmosphere and authenticity of this place and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me extremely comfortable & I just felt at home.

Yelp
We found Grandma's based on a Yelp recommendation and so glad we check it out! A hidden jem with unique and tasty drinks. Fun, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. It's a little tricky to find, watch for the street address (275) and then go in and downstairs.

Yelp
Hidden gem...seriously, you have to really really look for it. No sign outside, but just a piece a paper before you head down some sketchy stairs. But it's nice and personable. There's actual seating by the bar too. Plenty of cocktails to choose from and from what I understand, they change it up from to time. I had a great time here, I came back a second time, met some cool strangers and drank until I couldn't think on my own.

Yelp
Somewhat hidden location Tiki Cocktails w/a twist Chill This is a fantastic bar. I am so glad we discovered it. A quaint little bar with cool music, friendly bartenders and damn good drinks. A must try for locals and visitors.

Yelp
One of my favorite cocktail bars in Sydney. The Bear Country is a must-order if you are a whiskey fan. The environment is cozy and very relaxed. The entrance is not marked so I walked back and forth a few times trying to find it, but trust the map and look for an open door leading downstairs. Is it weird that I was entertained by the way the toilet flushes? I guess us Americans are easily entertained!

Yelp
Wonderful cocktails. Small underground bar. Can get a little cramped, but not the worst I've seen.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink here. Ordered the Phoney Negroni - and sampled the Ultimate MaiTai Both well made and theatrically presented. Great relaxed feel to the place. Friendly, generous professions bartenders. Could see this becoming a regular place if I happen to be lucky enough to live here - the sort of place that says "Stick around and let's shut this place down".
google avatar

Yelp
Besides from the tight squeeze to use the bathroom I couldn't fault this place. Bar staff are friendly and assisted us with choosing the right cocktails. Very chilled place, good vibes, recommend as a place together start or end the night. Great cocktails, recommended that you try the peanut butter colada or the Mai Tai.

Yelp
No more shines Billy. I said, No more shines. The baws Tony G was in town so we couldn't miss the opportunity to create some made men. Spitshine Tommy and I rounded up the crew and we hit Grandma's. We pondered briefly on a Wolf of Clarence Street before declaring the Smokin' Joe to be our drink of choise. We were all a little punchy and rum was gonna maintain that rage. Then Tony G said "Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes", and we knew then that we were all Made Men - Talisker 10 whisky combines with Ron Zacapa 23 rum stirred over ice with sweet vermouth and aromatic bitters to create a drink that is rich, strong, smoky and smooth - Just like us. Now go home and get your f@#$%^' shinebox!

Yelp
Small bars are super cute. Especially when they remind you of your grandma. No, I didn't just lose my mind. But I have been totally charmed by this delightful, boutique basement bar, where you can sink into rocking-chairs and pick up a pair of knitting needles (really). The charming "faded granny glamour" decor is matched by some old school service-with-a-smile and a great drinks list. Plus if you're peckish there are jaffles! Do you remember the hot deliciousness of jaffles? They might even be better than my grandma used to make. It's true that Grandma's is tricky to find. But if you wander down the Town Hall end of Clarence Street and look for The Guitar Lounge, then you'll just need to lower your gaze to peek into the domestic haven of Grandma's. Another tip: try and get there before 6pm if you're dropping by from Thursday night onwards. Grandma's might be homey, but it's also a small bar.

Yelp
Tiny little bar with a lot of character. Another great discovery thanks the my fellow Yelpers! Came here after visiting the foxhole, which is great but limited on drinks and food. We came here on a Thursday around 7 and it was packed. Luckily we met some nice girls who were willing to share their table. The cocktails here are awesome but unfortunately they only serve toasties and peanuts. So a group of us were getting pretty drunk and hungry and kept ordering nuts and toasties. I don't know if I was just tipsy, but the toasties ruled! We got the vegetarian cheese one and the spaghetti toasties. They are basically just little grilled cheese sandwiches with fillings inside and they're sealed. We ordered maybe 3 or 4 orders of them. The nuts are nice as well, flavored and salty. Overall a very cool small bar with great cocktails!

Yelp
Hard to find, but such a good one! Flaming Mai tai is money! Loud and hopping on a Friday at 5:30.

Yelp
Grandmas has been open for a while now, but Grandmas is SO good, I have FINALLY gotten around to writing about it! My problem being that I spend all my spare time there! Grandma's Bar, much like my beloved Grand Parents homes, is exactly that. A home, a place that eases you out of that crappy day you've just had at the office, or on the road, and in seconds, you are relaxed and chilled. A place where all the regulars know each other, and the staff know you by name, and will have your regular drink on it's way the second you walk in the door. Choosing a favorite drink is probably the single most difficult thing to accomplish here though - the cocktail list is quite extensive, and packed with top quality concoctions that will have you all umming and ahhhing about who's got the best drink! From Exotic Tiki drinks like the Brazilian Batidas & their flaming Ultimate Mai Tai, to classics such as the skillfully made Negroni's and Hemingway Daiquiri's - it's a tough choice, that will keep you coming back for more! Grandma's also has the widest, and best Rum selection I have seen in Sydney. Rum has long been over-looked here in Australia, but it is fast attracting a great following. Rums from the obvious cornerstones of the Industry, Cuba, Jamaica and Barbados adorn the back bar, but it's Rums from Venezuela and Guatemala that really catch the eye, and more importantly, the taste buds. The GrandKids (bar staff) are truly amazing in their knowledge and skills with this sumptuous dark spirit, and are only too willing to help you get your teeth into it! YUM! Finally, but not forgotten is the service. From the minute you enter, to the the last second you're there, James, Warren and the other GrandKids, will sweep you off your feet with a level of service I have not seen anywhere else in Sydney. You will be amazed - Get down There now Sydney! **EDIT - Recent recipient of Time Out Sydney's Best Small Bar 2011-12.

Yelp
Went in for my birthday celebrations and we sampled many of their cocktails. All of them were delicious. The "Dark and Stormy" is a standout as is anything that uses their homemade ginger beer. Lots of variety and the menu gives you plenty of detail for each cocktail. Seating is a little uncomfortable but if you can score the one booth under the street window you can settle in for the night. The bartenders Dean and Tristian (T-Bone) will do table service and constantly do the rounds to make suer everyone is happy, comfortable and has a drink or one on the way. Speaking of which, Dean and Tristian are both lovely (to look at as well hehe) and offer suggestions and recommendations based on your likes and what you may feel like. My friend ordered "give me something fruity and fun" and that was exactly what he got - an "Apricot Honeysuckle" The "Ultimate Maitai" is also a spectacle to behold. They flambe rum at the table and then shake cinnamon thru the flames as well creating your own mini fireworks. Have your cameras ready.

Yelp
I don't know what your grandma was like, but mine was (were) pretty rad. Who else can you look to to spoil you silly and cater to your every whim? Bingo. Small gimmicky bars seem to have an upper hand in Sydney, perhaps because they are so rare. Grandma's is very well done when it comes to theme and decor and offers you that "dirty little secret" feeling. I don't know when you last sipped scotch while in the presence of grannie's rocking chair and knitting needles, but it just feels a teeny bit wrong and conversely, oh so right. I would advise you to check out this tiny- reiterating, TINY- spot on a weeknight. You might even want to go post happy hour if your sore feet need a-restin,' because there's no way that between 5:30-7, or later on the weekend nights, that you're going to get a seat. I honestly wonder what a fire marshal would think if he saw the amount of people that pack into that little hat box of a bar on a regular basis. Eep! Either way, pick an opportune time and give Grandma's a whirl. The cocktail menu, separated by booze type and style, is definitely a throwback to when your grandparents were hip and happening. The only thing that would make this bar a little more theme accurate would be if they hired real life grandmas to come through at closing and brush everyone's teeth for them while forcing them toward their beds. That might be a difficult hire, but Grandma's Bar should look into it.
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
It's a grandma-themed tiki drink pseudo-speakeasy. I know it sounds like it might be obnoxiously hip, but it's probably one of the better bars I've been to. It's definitely hard to find (through an unmarked door, down the stairs), so just look for the address. Drink menu is expansive, mostly concentrating on sort-of sophisticated tiki drinks. We had a few different ones that the bartender recommended, and enjoyed all of them. I think my favorite was the Pineapple Express. The decor is casual and indeed grandma-esque (think faded floral patterns everywhere), with nice lighting that makes you not mind being in a basement. There wasn't a ton of seating, seems like it's best for small groups.
google avatar

Linda A.

Yelp
Great place - do walk down those stairs even if you've had trouble finding the place and think ..... mmmm it looks dingy. It is super cool, smaller than I expected, but the staff were loads of fun and really great helping us find a spot to sit and stay a while - pretty soon more spaces became free. Awesome music, did I mention super cool staff - very friendly. Who doesn't love a jaffle and cocktail - great place to hang out or go to for a quick drink!

Yelp
Who knew that Sydney was becoming the new Melbourne? As an out of towner with a distinct impression of what I thought the Sydney scene was - boy was I proven wrong. Forget the flashy and over the top ritz for what Sydney city style is synonymous with, this is a hidden away basement bar with some serious understated hipster class. From the entrance with only a faint hint of what's within from a glowing basement window, what awaits you is a cozy nook with all things your nanna would totally treasure including a delicious old fashioned yet "famuly secrets" style cocktail menu, a couple if pairs of knitting needs and rocking chair. Simple, friendly and definitely bucked my stereotype of inner Sydney bars, definitely worth a visit to Grandma's for a couple of cocktails and crochet times :-)
google avatar

Regan R.

Yelp
Monteiths and a huge selection of rum with awesome cocktails to match make it awesome for a kiwi. Good otherwise though - skilful bartenders adapt if you want something off- the- rum, and if you do... You will have a good time. In particular, grab a ultimate mai tai for a show, dark and stormy for relaxation, and chase with a sipping rum shooter. It may be the drink of sailors, but by god they make it classy
google avatar

Sally P.

Yelp
A 'not so hidden' cocktail bar in a narrow, long basement on Clarence. Great atmosphere and music for a different diverse crowd, helpful and knowledgeable staff and above average (when compared to other top rated speakeasy/Cocktail bars in the vicinity) cocktails. As a global taste tester for the spicier cocktails I can vouch for the Dark & Stormy and the El Diablo... the home made ginger beer giving them the extra kick they merit. Great find... makes my top 5 alongside Drink (Boston) and Artesian (London) but don't come here for fancy decor... come for authentic cocktails. Oh... And how could I forget.. They have handbag hooks girls...woo hoo'

Yelp
Nice Chill Bar. The place is cosy and I like the grandma decor, though I don't know if the posters are what I can expect to see at my Grandma's. When we first arrived, there was this really nice pleasant aroma in the place which I initially thought was mulled wine. But it turned out to be Jaffles, so either they both give out a similar aroma orImy olfactory senses aren't that good. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is that the staff are super friendly. Their cocktails are great too. I had the dark and stormy which is rum with their home made ginger beer which gave a bit of punch to the drink. I wanted to try the peanut butter colada but didn't get a chance this time.

Yelp
Absolutely glad we found this place. It's easy to miss but well worth it. My partner and I really enjoyed the place and of course the drinks
google avatar

Yelp
This place is pure genius! I feel like this is one of those venues that is purposely hidden to create a sense of mystic atmosphere. It is a neat little underground venue that has a delightful range of cocktails and drinks! A friend and i sat down in the grandma-chic venue and were greeted by friendly bar staff who then proceeded on to walk us through their great range of cocktails but i still went with my usual, Single barrel Jack Daniels (I mean really, Is their anything better?). We sat and the bar quickly filled up (but not to the point where we felt uncomfortable) and found that this quirky spot is subject to nearby CBD 'work-drinks'. My favourite part of the whole experience has to be seeing a deer's head mounted upon entry, totally rad!
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
Did not have to wait very long to sit down and the drinks are creative and well presented. I love this place
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Looking for somewhere at the town hall end of town to have a quiet drink or two before catching a show. Grandmas popped up in the search so off we went. First impressions - its tiny. But cool looking. Daggy old charis that look just like some stuff my actual grandmother had in her house. Second impressions - great cocktail list. On the down side though, thd beer list is pretty ordinary. I had to bypass the beer and have a cocktail. Third impressions - fantastic cocktails. I had a dark and stormy (rum lime and ginger beer) which was great. Very gingery. Christina had a passionfruit cosmopolitan which was good as well. All up. Great place for an evening drink. If we didn't have a show to get to we would have stayed all night.

Blake S.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome!!! The chill vibe environment allows you to socialise the night away... Grandmas has a wide range of cocktails to explore and take your taste buds on a journey and lastly the staff here are amazing... don't know what to drink? ask for a recommendation they will gladly help you chose a drink based on your preferred preferences, not only is their knowledge great but there friendly service is something that keeps me coming back.
google avatar

Fernanda S.

Yelp
Cute little hidden bar in the city, but it gets massively packed on Fridays - you'll be struggling to find a table, or even a seat. If you do, the cocktails are super nice and will help ease the stress of the working week, but food-wise their selection is pretty limited. Overall, I'd say there are better small bars in the CBD, but it's worth a stop if you haven't been, as it's got its charm.

Yelp
Sloshed already from another awesome adventure in all things Yelp (That would be the Chapas event), we descended here on the advice of the tourist (Sorry K!) and to the everlasting shame of the host-city regulars. Why the mortal shame? Because we had never been here, and we own this city. And this place is awesome, and I let the team down. Well I felt that way at least.. although the thinness of my blood was also making me feel pretty damn fine as well. So the feelings of guilt were short lived as we skipped lightly up the stairs, along the hall, admired the wallpaper, turned right down, right, down, and then opened a door into.. Well, I don't know about you, but my grandma would certainly never have gone into a den of iniquity such as this..... Or. Hmmmmm. There were those photos I found.... black and white ones taken with a box brownie.... with her in that flappe.. ... .. Skip that last part. Grandma loved this place! She would have rocked it, and heres why: The guys running this place are super cheerful, super professional, super capable and super duper hot. They serve super, awesome (one punter was drinking FIRE!!!) cocktails and drinks, and well, thats what a bar should make its name in. Good drinks. But Grandmas Bar excels at more than that. They've turned a claustrophobic, haunted little narrow bit of a fire-escape (sorry but that is what it must have been in a past life) into top-of-the-class awesomeness. This is one of the best little places in the heart of the city (The S.G. also springs to mind) to get sloshed. Is it a bit pricey? yes. But who's counting when everything works the way it should? Decor and fun, and hot staff and cool drinks, with wonderful atmosphere and a magical little environment? Thats a delivery of awesome, if you ask me.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Sydney seems to have a penchant for hard to find, those in the know, speak-easies. Between this and Shady Pines, there is no way a tourist would ever walk in off the street. It's a shame that all the best places to go are virtually impossible to find here. In any case, Grandma's Bar definitely has the best cocktails under $20 in this city. A good selection of martinis, vodka and rum based drinks exists here. This place is also conveniently located near the Kent and Druitt street bus stop which means if we ever miss a night bus we simply pop in here for a drink or 2 before catching the next one.
google avatar

Audra E.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Sydney, laid back, strong cocktails, cool bartenders. The feel is a small cave like bar with doilies to compliment your drinks (like you're at your grandma's house if she was a cool hipster). I always enjoy my cocktails here, and the bathroom is amusing too. The toilet and sink are together so the water from the toilet also feeds the faucet. Sounds gross, but is totally cool.
google avatar

Artemis H.

Yelp
We went here on whim for pre-dinner drinks but wished we could've stayed longer. Would've love to have gone through more of their cocktails. The array of cocktails is vast and funky it's hard to come to a decision but found two nice strong ones that hit the spot. The cocktail menu describes the cocktails accurately and interestingly as possible so you have some clue what to anticipate. The bartenders were welcoming and friendly and one of them reminded us that "this is where the party happens". Hm. The vibe inside is perfect: small, intimate, chilled music, hip, old style but enjoyable. It's in a basement so watch those stairs on the way down. I can think of many mates I'd love to drag over here so it's got return value. Have to try the jaffles menu next time damn sometimes you just need some grilled sandwiches. See you again Grandma's!
google avatar

Beth J.

Yelp
AMAZING cocktails. Honestly, the best and most interesting flavors I've ever experienced. I can't remember what the names were exactly but I ordered something names after Hemingway, something with a smoked glass. Hunt them down!
google avatar

James E.

Yelp
Best cocktails I've had. Period. The guys that run this place are super friendly too, definitely ask them for a cocktail recommendation. We went on a Saturday night and had no trouble getting a seat (though there was only two of us). Visit, it's delightful.

John I.

Yelp
Try to find it. Worth the time spent looking. The bar feels like a family gathering at your house with engaging staff and every one who walks in gets acknowledged. Really humming from about 9 pm on Friday night but there is the option to sit at the bar or a table. You could sit here with someone else's partner and never get caught! The whisky selection is very good and the staff are always happy to recommend their favourites. They are constantly mixing cocktails and according to the "cocktail queens"have a great selection of their own versions of some of the well known cocktails. Definitely worth a visit but get in early. Age group on the night was generally late 20s to late 30s. I'm not sure if that is the standard demographic. ENJOY!
google avatar

Tim D.

Yelp
One the small-bar explosion in Sydney in recent years. Very Melbourne, with almost no indication that it's here: look for the guitar shop sign and you'll spot the basement window below it: entrance is on the left. It's small, tight, and a jumble of eclectic seats and tables made to accomodate couples and small groups. There's a bit of see-and-be-seen attitude by the clientele, but the staff aere down-to-earth and excellent. Get here early or don't bother. And be prepared to try the cocktails.
google avatar

Luke B.

Yelp
OK, I have to stop comparing Sydney bars with those in Melbourne but... Grandma's Bar has the Melbourne hidden, cool bar feeling down pat. A quirky little hide out, with bric a brac type furniture and dim lighting. Friendly, hipster bar staff too! The perfect spot to chill, catch up with friends or even knit (or was that so 2010?). Rum based cocktails with homemade ginger beer are a specialty here. Fresh and zingy! They are perfect way to wash down one of Granny's piping hot jaffles, if you feel so inclined. The perfect spot for a night cap!
google avatar

Zoe K.

Yelp
This place is so hole-in-the-wall Melbournesque, I love it! An extensive cocktail menu, friendly bartenders and a really Granny inspired interior. Being so overwhelmed by the menu I took James. E's advice and asked for a recommendation, which I'm glad I did because I learnt that they make their own ginger beer and I walked away with a Moscow Mule. And yes the Dark and Stormies are ah-mah-zing! Little expensive though, cocktails start at $16, but overall totally worth it!.

Yelp
Grandma's is the type of bar that is changing Sydney's reputation for unimaginative night life. In the heart of the city, albeit not on a main street, you would miss it if you didn't know it was there. It's these types of bars that have made Melbourne the benchmark for late night variety and excitement. Low in profile but packing a punch of note, Grandma's certainly delivers. Small enough to just swing a cat, it is the perfect dive to head for after those Friday night drinks. The cocktail menu is uber impressive and the delivery doesn't disappoint. The barmen know their stuff and ensure that you get full value for your drink. It's an intimate , no frills establishment that exudes friendliness and authenticity. This is a perfect antidote to the many soulless and often aggressive late night bars that Sydney has become notorious for.
google avatar

Allerina M.

Yelp
Another Sydney small bar - they've definitely exploded in the last 3 years. Love the quirkiness of this place - handwritten-style menu that includes notes and tips on the cocktails, jaffles on the snacks menu, knitting wool and needles available to play with, knitting on display. It's a nice cosy little place and surprisingly not difficult to secure a nook. The cocktail list had some great promise but I found the cocktails a lot better at a few other places further north on Clarence and also on York street. We tried 3 (you can download their menu from their website): Rhythm of booze I could only taste the watermelon and vodka. Didn't get the subtlety of the passionfruit syrup. Game of Sloes Really disappointed with this one. Tasted quite bitter to me. Couldn't figure out if that was due to the pomegranate syrup. Grandma's Highball I found this quite watery - I think I expected some substance to it from the pear juice. With so many other places to choose from, I'd be hard pressed to come back.

Yelp
Wow! So... This is an amazing cocktail bar folks! Friendliness? Yes. Insane ambiance? Yup. And drinks? The creativity here is simply inspiring. These are top top TOP drinks Yelpers... And you will be happy! None of the 'Smirnoff' type liquors here. Only top shelf. Or rather... Only good quality... You decide how 'top shelf'. The drink menu is simply epic and will be an inspiration to those looking to build their own arsenal of goodness (like me). Yeah... Looking for good cocktails? Go here. 16-20 per cocktail so going price. Worth it! Oh and did I mention the bartenders are awesome? Friendly, very talented, and not dicks. WOOHOO!

Yelp
This place would be great of there were more proper seats and tables options.... It is very cliche Melbourne-ish, and in a great location, bu it is just a bit toooo cramped and uncomfortable for me. Being so small and bereft of tables, if you don't arrive in the first two parties for the eventing, you may as well not bother. The best seats in the house are at the front under the Window off Clarence Street.

Yelp
A little sneaky to find which is always fun. Came here with a friend for after-work drinks and for a small place it got pleasantly busy without being annoyingly crowded. It can get a little toasty being underground but I didn't mind. The bartenders are absolute legends and will sit and chat with you when it isn't too busy. The cocktails are innovative in concoction and unique in taste. Good place to impress your date or grab starter drinks with friends.

Yelp
I really like this place! Came here only once but would have to come back. The place is very small but arriving at 6 we could just get a table. Place was packed few minutes after. Had few cocktails and the were yummy! Just felt like I was at my grannies house. Very small very different and worth to go. I liked it!

Yelp
I was brought here by a friend and I seriously didn't expect such a hidden gem to exist. It's very tiny but extremely cosy, not to mention the bartenders are true performers as they shake up fancy (and flaming) cocktails.

Yelp
Grandmas is a great hole in the wall. The drinks are very well made. The bartender was very accommodating and helped us choose our poison.

Yelp
Expensive, but cute and classy basement bar. Great cocktails. Hidden, but look for the small hallway entry by a Fender poster (or at least that's what was up last summer) and then go down the stairs.
