I’ve never been to a store like this. Consignment I guess it is. Very interesting items. Furniture, art, misc home goods and jewelry. Tons of employees around to assist if needed.

We came to browse dining sets and purchased a table with chairs. They have a lot of quality antique furniture and it is fun to look around! Furniture is usually more high end and can be expensive, but prices decrease on a fixed schedule and you may also make offers to the seller. Staff was friendly and made it easy to purchase. They will hold items you purchase for up to 7 days.

Everything I visit there are sooo many cool things to see, and so much I want to buy. This time it was a rare etching for $30! What a find!

I would give 0 if I can. I visited the store twice and bought several “gold” pin sticks. The first time I bought 3. When I buy them, I buy them from a case that saying they are either 10k, 14k(didn’t mention gold plate or overlay). I got them tested at a jewelry store and one pin is not gold. The next day I went to their store to return the one that is not gold. The guy was nice and apologized. I can feel I was respected and probably it’s just an accident. So I pick another three pins. I asked the store to test it to see if it’s gold again. It seems one piece is not gold but the other two are 10k and 18k. So I bought the other two. Again, I tested them at a jewelry store using both machine and acid. The 18k one is definitely not 18k but rather 10k gold plated. I was disappointed and came back to return it. The WOMAN was so rude. She told me they will not sell things to me again since it’s my second time to return. But it is not my fault. It’s their responsibility to test, organize, clarify things. She didn’t apologize but rather blame me on returning. I am so sad it’s happening in Columbus and in a such great store. I told her if it’s not gold or not solid gold, you have to clarify it. She replied OKAY and told me when they mention gold it’s can be gold plated. They how can we trust on the other valuable pieces?? So rude and I will not do business with them again.

I can't say enough good things about the customer service team. So helpful and professional. Also good senses of humor. Special thanks to Barrett and Mallory.

Google
Was intent to buy. Tried to make an offer on an item that was one day from price drop and has been in the store for 6 weeks. I was told since it’s a sale day, I couldn’t make an offer. I’m sure the seller would love losing a decent sale without being given the opportunity to weigh in.

What a great place! Want a vintage Chanel bag, a chandelier, a piano, vintage or antique artwork, a super lux handmade rug, vintage or antique jewelry, ANYTHING? Chances are you'll find it here. Rotating stock, of course but that's the fun of it. Prices are great, items are displayed nicely and easy to access, super high quality (no junk here), and the staff is extremely helpful but not in a hovering kind of way at all. The store is well laid out, clean, and full of treasures just waiting to be found. Check it out just once and you'll see why visiting Grandview Mercantile is a fantastic way to spend a couple hours. Plus, the longer an item is there, the lower the price goes. By shopping here for lots of my household items, I've been able to create a cozy, eclectic mix of wonderful things that truly make my house feel like home. I feel good about not buying new and I always find one of a kind items that embody my personality.

My wife and I spent a good hour looking at all the unique furniture and miscellaneous decor items scattered throughout. If you are looking for one of a kind pieces at fairly decent prices, this is a great place to start your search.

Yelp
I've been driving by this place for 5+ years and only recently made the time to stop in and browse. This place is huge and has a ton of beautifully curated furniture, art, and antiques. Every corner you turn there's something new to googly-eye over. I particularly loved the inventory of art they have. I feel like I've seen something from just about every era for the last 100 years. Colorful art deco paintings, culturally specific tapestries, amazing glass structures, tons of impressionism pieces, I could go on and on. If you're looking to add some character to your space, I definitely suggest paying Grandview Mercantile a visit. Depending on what you're looking for, it might not be cheap, but it'll be unique and special.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite stores in Grandview and absolutely recommend. They offer furniture, art, jewellery, antique and vintage pieces, lighting, consignments, and more. Plenty of free parking in the lot and meter street parking on Grandview Ave. Very inviting atmosphere. You can find all kinds of fun stuff here and it is great to just walk around and explore. I always discover a lot of cool and some vintages pieces that sparks nostalgia. Especially the "I remember that style" and it reminds you of a specific time period. Or even better the odd find or "what is that" or "what do you use that for" item? New arrivals all the time and I love to use that as a reason to revisit to see what's new. The price points are of a wide range and there are some really good finds. Some furniture pieces show a markdown schedule and you can keep an eye on it if it is just something you would get if the price is right. You can even browse and make offers on their website at www.grandviewmercantile.com/. I personally prefer the experience of walking through the showrooms and absolutely recommend checking the Grandview Mercantile out. You never know when you will run across or find something you didn't even know you needed!

Yelp
Best selection of unusual finds in the city! Fantastic jewelry, artwork, lamps, and furniture - all of which I have bought from them repeatedly. Priced to fit any budget and/or decor! ;-)

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place! It's a fun treasure hunt. I've been coming here for years and have always found very high-quality products that are unique for various tastes and styles and that stand out. Everyone is so kind, knowledgeable and willing to assist, however needed. There's always new furniture and products that are definitely reasonably priced. You can certainly find something you adore and will cherish forever. HIGHLY recommend! Thank you, Tabitha Stitt, The Self-Help Psychic

Yelp
I love this business and have been going here for years. I've never sold anything through there consignment but have bought some real treasures, from art to large pieces of furniture. Plus it's just fun to browse. Staff have always been really helpful.

Yelp
Bought a beautiful mid century modern table- perfect size for our home! love going to this store and seeing unique items and furniture.

Yelp
A mix of consignment and set-price home decor and furniture, this is a great move to this new location for Grandview Mercantile Review (GMR). Definitely more space to move about, and things are not as squished into every nook and cranny. There are some really spiffy furniture options (kitchen tables, lounge chairs, sofas, end caps). Some stuff is ticketed showing the discounted price if the piece is still for sale by the printed date. Yes, as is the case for many consignment stores, you have to keep an eye on the piece you're thinking of buying; if you wait too long, it could get snagged up, while you're enjoying a scoop of Jenny's ice cream down the road. I'm thinking I'll venture back in to take a more proper look at the jewelry section, as my mom loves jewelry, especially of the antique variety. Perhaps I'll be able to snag her birthday present from GMR.

Yelp
I hadn't been in since they moved to their new location in Grandview, so I was interested in checking it out. This is a nice large space filled with a lot of neat items to peruse. The center of the space contains a huge amount of furniture and a whole lot of chandeliers. These are accented by colorful rugs and a variety of artwork. Vases, bowls, and other decor items sit on the tables, sideboards, and more. There are a number of cases on the side of the store near the registers that have everything from china and silverware to art and jewelry. There's even some fascinating items like fossils, a meteorite, and a toothbrush that looked like it had actual teeth where the bristles are. The sales tags on each item list what the price will be on several different dates (assuming it hasn't sold before then). There is a good sized parking lot that is shared with the neighboring Big Lots.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Tucked around the side of Big Lots, this is a furniture/home decor store with a large selection. Also some jewelry, clothes, etc. All sorts of styles for your home decorating needs, lots of paintings, some kitchenware. Big, and packed, but laid out so you can browse easily. Prices seem reasonable. Sweetie will need to come and see what we need, so I'm sure we'll be back.

Yelp
Bro you want some crap for your house? Get you some here, but only if you're hip AF and have way more money than I do. (You probably do.) Like, it's cool to come here and look around but I can't envision any circumstances where I would actually buy something. This place is basically an artisanal thrift store. Like, if every Belle & Sebastian fan in the world was hired to peruse garage sales and thift stores until they were able to fill a warehouse, this is what you'd come up with. I'm sure you could make yourself a tidy living buying old junk from Facebook Marketplace and then consigning it here. I realize that this makes me sound like a ranting old man but I pretty much am that so whatever.

Yelp
I have been to Grandview Mercantile so many times, and I'm surprised it has taken me this long to write a review. But the fact that I mention having gone so many times should tell you how much I like this place. I have seen a few reviews mentioning that it seems to be a home decorations store but that things seem a little old, that their products are overpriced, that they call themselves a "mercantile" but that there is almost nothing in the way of clothing and foodstuffs. People fail to grasp that this is primarily a store that sells antiques and other items that are on consignment (some things that are old and some things that are not so old). That said, the inventory changes by the week (maybe by the day) depending on new items they have received and who is contracted to consign with them. So, don't go in trying to find Ikea and Target products and prices because most of what Grandview Mercantile sells is of much higher quality. We have quite a number of items in our house that we bought from Grandview Mercantile. These range from flower vases to sets of glasses to paintings to other small decorative oddities. I will often walk through, find something that I like, see that the price will drop by a quarter or maybe even half within the next two weeks, and then come back later to get it. I have been successful in making purchases that way, but sometimes I haven't. That's the luck of the draw -- someone else might like the same piece and make the purchase before I return. But whatever...Grandview Mercantile always has something that interests me and makes me want to go back. Right now I have my eye on a small chest of drawers that I hope will be available in a week when the price has gone down a little more. If it isn't, I'm sure I'll find something else another time. So, if you like browsing antique and consignment shops, if you like looking at curious and sometimes just weird stuff, if you're looking for a piece of furniture or home decor, or if you're in the market for a platinum and diamond ring, stop by Grandview Mercantile. Even if you buy nothing, you'll see some pretty awesome stuff.

Yelp
If you are looking for something other than FURNITURE... disappointment will be the theme. Good location on HIGH ST.

Yelp
I love this store so much, both from a customer perspective and a consigner perspective. I lived in Columbus 2006-2010 and loved visiting the location on High Street in the Short North, and would take my mom there every time she came to visit. I moved back in 2016 and went to that same location to help furnish my new home. I bought a set of china, a dining room set, and what I like to call "the little weirdo" - this strange little chest of drawers I keep in my living room. I love those pieces and have received several compliments on them. I just love having things that are slightly different from the things you find in traditional home furnishing stores, things with history, and frankly things that are better quality than I could afford at traditional retail. I had a couple of pieces of furniture I no longer needed and decided to reach out to try consigning for the first time. Kara in customer service was so incredibly helpful throughout the whole experience. She had very clear and efficient communication, and recommended local movers who were familiar with the store. Both of my pieces sold quickly (far more quickly, and for far more money than they would have had I tried to sell them on my own). I would recommend this to anyone!

Yelp
Good store but the hours are not good. Closes early every evening...I've gotten here once again just to find out the store closes early....thought it might be different on Saturday. This influences my decision almost every time I think about stopping by.

Susie R.

Yelp
I love this place, though I can't really afford this place, heh. Don't get me wrong--you might be able to afford Grandview Mercantile. It has a wide range of products. But I tend to be drawn to things like a simple dining table with four chairs that is almost $2000 because it is a Danish modern antique. #welp Combing through the store is always a lot of fun, though, even if I'm not looking to make purchases. They carry a variety of styles and eras. The salespeople are helpful but don't approach me every 2 minutes like people in some furniture stores do. Definitely stop in when you're making a day of the Short North. It's a good time.

Yelp
This was such an incredible place. We live in Philly and wouldn't drive over here for just the Revue (we were here for a wedding) but I would definitely visit this place if I were anywhere close to Columbus. We got some prints and a super cool find: letters between two brothers during the civil war, one a captured prisoner. How freaking awesome is that?! The stuff was super interesting with all levels of fanciness. The prices were really good. I could see coming to this place to decorate a college dorm, a first home, or an established family. Such fabulous stuff and good deals!

Yelp
I always drive by those big old rural warehouses that each claim to be the biggest antique dealer in Ohio with X amount of square feet. I go in and find myself sorely disappointed by the junk stored within. Grandview Mercantile is NOTHING like that. Grandview is 8,000 square feet of good stuff. While Grandview is connected to its sister store ReVue, the older sibling's taste lie mainly in antique jewelry and the arts. At Grandview, you'll typically see a middle-aged woman ooo-ing and ahhh-ing at a glass display case full of tarnished jewels while her husband stands by and yawns. Other than jewels and art, Grandview also has great furniture finds, but everything is too expensive for a recent post-grad like me. My momma taught me to look and not touch. You'll find some quirky stuff here, like the giant barbershop head that was displayed in the front - the head was later purchased by Collier West and now accents that storefront window. The best time to go to Grandview is during their red tag sale; prices are marked way down during this event. I think it happens twice a year. If you're an uber antique nerd, check out the website. They interestingly post favorite sold items there; it's like watching antique road show.
google avatar

Jenna Z.

Yelp
An antique store like nothing I've ever seen. They have a real human skeleton in separate parts in a case to be bought for medical purposes only. Other things I found super cool: gigantic bulbs from the early 1900s, a bunch of Native American artwork and jewelry, miniature soldiers from World War I, signed pictures from Toy Story 2, and the usual baubles and trinkets that most antique stores generally have. The prices range from reasonable to highly expensive, but if you really scour, you can find a fantastic deal or two.

Cmh S.

Yelp
The new location in Grandview is excellent with good parking but oddly, it shares a parking lot with Big Lots, which is a strange pairing. Big Lots is low rent crap, Grandview Mercantile is fancy and expensive. It's a fun place to kill some time but it is wildly overpriced. This is not a "treasure hunt"-type thrift store. The antiques and jewelry sections are well-done and nicely curated but the furniture area features dated stuff suitable for grandmas and the art work throughout the store is universally tacky. They use a weird pricing scheme that reduces the item's price as time goes by, which serves to encourage you to NOT buy that day. Of course, most of us don't bother to come back at a later date, so they lose the impulse buys. Strange. BTW: If you want to consign something with them be prepared for a huge hassle. Your email inquiry may not be replied to for weeks, you have to make an appointment to drop something off and it takes months to get one, and they are very peculiar about what they take in. Customer service in the store can be very snotty. Overall a fun place to browse, a bad place to buy from or sell to.

Yelp
I'm in love. If they hadn't announced they were closing for the evening when I was standing there, I would have hidden myself away in an armoire and come out after closing to discover every little nook and cranny in this place. Very awesome! Don't go here in a hurry planning to just pick something out quickly and dash as that will NOT happen. You may also want to cash out your 401K before you arrive as you will want everything in the store (except the giant antler chandelier or stuffed peacock looking thing).

Madelyn A.

Yelp
WATCH YOUR STEP! This was a very interesting store because it was just a huge consignment center consisting of several rooms. They had everything from furniture to jewelry, fine art, sculpture, collectibles and more. I love that their jewelry was displayed behind tall glass shelves so that you did not have to bend over to see items. If you are looking for some nostalgic pieces, something affordable or just a little accent piece for your home or apartment, you should check out this store. Be careful as you enter because there is a big step up and no warning sign. I stumbled in and as I left, the woman in front of me stumbled out. We shared a laugh because we were okay but it is an unsafe entrance. Check it out and don't forget to look down before entering!

Robin H.

Yelp
I had the most shocking customer service experience at this consignment store today. I wanted to purchase some jewelry but could not get anyone to help me. I understand that when you shop here it may take a while to get waited on but I was not prepared for the rude dismissive behavior by one of their employees named Angela. I approached Angela who was sitting at the service desk typing on her laptop. I waited thinking she would look up and at least ask if she could help me. She never looked up even when I said "excuse me can I get someone to help me". She was totally dismissive still never looking up. She finally made a motion with her head and said "he can help you over there". Still never looking up. I was shocked and appalled that an employee would have the audacity to respond this way. Clearly an employee with this type of disposition representing the consignment store doesn't speak well.

Linda E.

Yelp
We had the daunting task of clearing out 40 years of furniture in a very short time. We had no idea who to trust with our treasured belongings. Pam from Grandview Mercantile came to the house and immediately dispelled our qualms. She recognized the provenance of our items. In one case, she identified two pieces that were designer specific. The prices she quoted were more than fair and we were solid in our commitment. She arranged for furniture pickup and the company was fair and very professional. We left Ohio with the confidence that all would be handled fairly and equitably. All but three minor pieces sold! We couldn't be happier with the professionalism and personal care that we experienced.

Yelp
Confession time: I love antique stores. I don't really buy antiques or get into antiques or anything like that, I just loooooooove looking at old shit. Sure, some of it I really do want to buy in my richest dreams. But mostly going antiquin' for me is all about eye candy. And, for that, Grandview Mercantile is a literal treasure trove. The inventory of this Short North (not Grandview!) store is not only diverse, it's stacked to the gills into every conceivable inch of space. A wonderful feast for the senses! Walking through Grandview Mercantile can easily devour huge chunks of time, getting lost in the "ooh's" and the "aah's" of it all. One of the neater features here is that a lot of the bigger or more expensive items slowly drop in price by date, as marked on their price tags, so you can try your luck at getting a good deal (at the risk of losing it to some jerk who has more money than you do, or less gumption about throwing it around). But what really sold me on Grandview Mercantile were all the little gewgaws. I love little gewgaws. As much as I love old crap, I love LITTLE old crap even more. I almost purchased a set of little metal chickens the last time I was in here. Do I need little metal chickens? Hell no. Do I still want them? You bet. So, there you have it. This is the store that makes me want to spend money on tiny, non-utilitarian, metal fowl.

Yelp
I am not over the age of 73 and I do not collect antiques.. buuutttt I LOVE THIS STORE! I do have a hidden passion for old, antique jewelry that then becomes the "it" item that you own and this place has plenty of options! I spent a good hour in here when I meant to just peak in and warm up during the gallery hop. Anything can be purchased in here from random metal roosters, beautiful furniture, mirrors, jewelry, paintings, old license plates, a cougar lamp... (I wasn't kidding when I said anything!) So dear future husband, you should definitely look here for a wedding band and dear future wealthy self, you should definitely shop here when you decorate your house.

Yelp
Hey! Hey, you! You're broke, you're thrifty, you love old things. Where to go to buy neat furniture, furnishings, and random baubles? Hmm. I daresay GRANVIEW MERCANTILE is where you will go. This place is huge! I did not expect to spend two hours meandering with such wanderlust. Unleash your imagination and delve into the most beautiful, or intriguing, or weird furnishings our ancestors have owned. Additionally, the articles for sale are reasonably priced and one of a kind. In a blowout sale, I saw a cherry desk set, perfect for a computer or a study area, for $175. I'll gander that a desk of this quality and size could easily rob you of $700 anywhere else. Similarly, cureo cabinet in mint condition-$200. I also saw an old OB/GYN set with foot straddles... for the kinky in us. :-/ I loved how part of the store was decorated in different "rooms," using their own collection. Nostalgia seeps from every creation, from typewriters to fancy chairs, from mosaic tables to odd paintings. I want to live here. Buy, wander, awe.

Yelp
I have a bit of a, well, strange interest in what might be called oddities. And if you've seen the TV show of the same name, yes. That's exactly the type of stuff I like. Luckily, there is a case in Grandview Mercantile that caters to my particular interests. And so my collection now contains a fully articulated bat skeleton, raccoon baculum, and a medical school human foot skeleton. Where else could you find those in Columbus? Don't worry, I've found some "normal" things there too. A desktop printing press in less than working condition got some tender loving care and now is in working order in my studio. For the most part, prices here are pretty high. Generally higher than what I'd be willing to pay for antiques but they often have items that are hard to find and occasional sales bring prices down. And its always worth a shot to ask them to call the dealer with an offer. They'll often take it.

Jill S.

Yelp
I was interested in a piece of jewelry I saw on the website but had some questions. I sent an email, and Nathan responded very quickly. He was incredibly helpful. I couldn't have asked for better customer service.

Michael L.

Yelp
Walked into the Grandview Mercantile yesterday to browse. There were three managers/employees standing in the front of the store when I walked in and not one of them greeted me or asked me if I needed any assistance. Apparently the Mercantile needs some basic training in customer service.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
if you want to look at tons of crazy crap from the past, grandview mercantile company (which is no longer in grandview but now in the short north) is one of the best spots in columbus. seriously, you could spend days in this place. in my quick trip through the 8000 square foot space, i saw a chandelier made from antlers, cigar store indians, taxidermy of all sorts, creepy antique dolls that looked like they would walk off the shelf and stab me in the eye, and a ginormous bison head with a santa hat. it might have given me nightmares, but at least it was interesting.

Yelp
After years of visiting Grandview Mercantile, I guess it's time to finally review it! GM really isn't a hidden gem, and their prices reflect that. That's really my only qualm - the sometimes outrageous prices. Other than that, I love GM! About once a month, I like to visit GM to see all the cool things they have in store. The mister put it perfectly - he said it's like somebody else went antiquing for him and weeded through all the crap to just get the good stuff. The quality at GM can't be beat. And some of the prices are totally reasonable. Here are some things you can find at good prices: * small furniture (I bought two end tables for $75 each) * art prints * cake plates * light fixtures * unique small gifts I love visiting GM - go check it out!
google avatar

Bryant M.

Yelp
I've recently become a stalker of GM's Revue. They have a table, and I want it. But not right now. It needs to get cheaper first! Here's the deal with Revue: As time passes, items get cheaper. With a little risk and a little luck, you can get something you really want for a decent price! Revue is more about furniture than Grandview Mercantile. It doesn't have to be vintage, but it does have to be in excellent condition. And you can actually sell your own things here! Go check out their website, and you can read all the details. Okay, I guess it's time to go back to Revue and stalk my table.
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Love this place! I got my favorite piece I've ever found here. The range on items they have is extensive. And everywhere you look there's something that catches your eye.

Yelp
I haven't been to Grandview Mercantile on the assumption that it was a lot of super high priced furniture. Not the case at all. I'm pretty sure that the place is a mix of lots of different merchants. As a result there's a broad range of stuff to look at. I have this problem with loving orange things from the seventies. I don't want to like them, but I do. I was a little uncomfortable when I initially walked in, seeing only high priced art as I entered and walked left. But when I saw the orange stuff from the seventies, I knew I was at home there. As I pushed further into the store I began to discover more and more reasonably priced stuff. Of course, most things were out of my price range, but I always assume there is one thing that I want. And that one thing can only be in one place. So it's always worth my time searching for that place. I didn't find it. But I'll be back to search again. On the other side of the store is a large floor filled with interesting furniture. I breezed through the $1,000 price tags and made it back to the bric a brac.

Kate V.

Yelp
This is the best secondhand store I've ever been to. Every item is something of quality and beauty, worth preserving.

Yelp
I seriously could have spent an entire day in this place browsing and ogling the goods. I loved it so much I went twice during my 4 day stay in Columbus. I purchased several pieces of Taxco sterling that were artist-stamped and in super good condition. I paid very little for really high-quality vintage jewelry so I was SUPER happy. I would encourage any vintage lover to go see this place, especially if you are in the market for fine vintage jewelry or furniture!!!!
google avatar

Christiana C.

Yelp
When I talked to people about looking for a vintage ring, this is where everyone told me to go. And it was a fun place! It was funky and unique and fun to look through! Here's some things I wish I had known up front specifically about jewelry here. There is a set of 8ish glass cases full of estate and antique jewelry. Companies or sellers take care of a case and switch the merchandise in there as they sell things or on a whim. So if you are looking and can't find something you previous saw there, it's probably gone, although you would have the option to contact the business who controls that case. Clerks have the keys, so when you see something you want to take a look at, you just have to ask to have that case opened. To be honest, these rings are a lot more expensive than what I was seeing when I did my homework. Even the nondiamonds were more than I was mentally prepared to shell out, which was a bit disappointing. I think if I had less of a time frame in mind (I want this specific thing NOW), I could have done better than just coming and hoping that I wouldn't have to check back to shop around or anything. They definitely have beautiful things and it was a great excuse to finally check this place out!

Yelp
True, Columbus has bigger antique stores. But none are as distinguished as the Short North's Grandview Mercantile. And though its name is a bit misleading -- the store is nowhere near Grandview -- this sprawling antique store is a true treasure trove for anyone looking for an item from yesteryear. Most of the store's inventory is made up of various consignment sellers. One of the largest sellers, ReVue, almost constitutes a store unto itself. Hundreds of items are marked with ReVue's unique pricing format. When an item first goes on sale, the full price is asked. For every three weeks that pass, the price is reduced. The cool trick is, with ReVue, you get to see the upcoming sale price. But there's a risk there. Sure today the candle stick might cost $40 today, but two months from now it might only be $12...if it's still around. You can get some great deals that way.

Yelp
Have enjoyed dealing with the upbeat staff upon several consignment occasions. My items are displayed in proper settings, and always handled carefully. Those prints, paintings, etc. not sold are nicely wrapped for protection upon pickup. Take time to look around if you can.

Yelp
Ok, so misleading store name because Grandview Mercantile is actually in the heart of the Short North. Worth all of the confusion however, once you step inside. The store is gi-normus! Really, you could devote a week to its rooms, nooks, and crannies. You might even be able to buy a "crannie" here. I don't know, it's really that huge. The mercantile is filled with fun and fascinating things. I spent a summer going in once a paycheck to buy antique ashtrays and I don't even smoke. If you find something you really like you can actually barter, an art everyone should learn. The staff is great and very helpful. They will search with you from room to room and let you in on price deals. My boyfriend and I went there recently to buy a coat rack and ended up with an engagement ring. This also reminds me to tell everyone to check out the vintage jewelry. This store is always changing inventory and themes. They have sellers from all over the United States. I especially enjoy this month's seller form L.A who is hawking mod sixties items in the blue room. Go to Grandview Mercantile and I dare you to come out empty handed.

Yelp
I have to say I was REALLY excited about the ring I found here and then my fiancé later proposed with. How cool, an antique ring right? And from a place with a good reputation. But since then it's been a disaster. The appraisal for the ring was COMPLETELY wrong. The ring then started to fall apart! We had it fixed and when we contacted Grandview and told them of the problem, they did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Except argue with us, change their story and tell us to just "send it back". We have since then sent a detailed summary from our jeweler explaining the issues, a new appraisal and pictures proving the original issues. Still nothing. They now say the ring is brand new and should haven't fallen apart. Well, it did. And my jeweler said there is NO way this ring is new. In fact it's a couple decades old. I haven't had a bad customer experience like this in a long time. I would NEVER recommend purchasing jewelry from this store. Horrible horrible horrible.

Yelp
If I ever win the lottery and get to buy a really big fancy house, I am going to come here to furnish it. They have so many beautiful pieces every time I visit and it's so fun to just get lost here. Actually, a lot of the pieces are reasonably priced, so you wouldn't have to win the lottery to purchase a few things. And because it is a consignment shop, the longer they have the piece in store, the more the price drops, so you can find some really fantastic deals here. They also have something for everyone, meaning there are your standard pieces (dining tables, couches, desks, etc.) and then they have some more odd or macabre items (mounted animals, antique medical equipment, etc). Getting lost in here is a great time and because the inventory is constantly changing, it's never boring.

Yelp
So many of our store fixtures are from the Mercantile, a wonderfully edited antique shop. I do my share of antiquing, but have to admit that the roadside behemoths can get overwhelming. I find myself spending as much time there than somewhere like the Heart of Ohio because I want everything. Rarely do I leave without something.

Yelp
Spent three hours here today during the tag sale. Spent a few hundred dollars. We are auction house owners and professional buyers and sellers of antiques. We always enjoy GM for its wonderful selection of largely great antiques and vintage items. Among GM's strengths is that it is huge and crammed full. Worth the trip from anywhere around Ohio. Another strength is its incredible array of fine and costume jewelry at reasonable prices - from $10 to $10,000 and above. I have made most of my major jewelry purchases for my wife here - and without regret! GM was very busy today and obviously understaffed. We had to wait 15 minutes to see some things in the cases, and some folks had to wait 10 or more minutes to check out. Not a major issue but something we noted today. Also, to call GM an antique mall or store would also be a misnomer, as it (as it should) reflects the tastes of today's buyers (primarily vintage and Mid-Century Modern). But GM is also chock full of classic antiques, classical antiques and early stuff. It is weak on primitives, country furniture and that sort of thing - but it really is an urban, trendy place - not a place you would expect to find that kind of stuff. Also - beware - as there doesn't seem to be any rule at GM requiring pieces to be old. There are many great old pieces at GM but many booths had made-to-look-old recent Asian imports amid the truly old stuff - and with the price tags usually seen on truly old stuff. It takes a keen eye and plenty of experience to know the imports from the true antiques, and I'm sure many folks get fooled. But then again, many folks simply don't care - if they like the way a piece looks (old, charming, weathered) they buy it, whether old or not and without a care toward age. Still, as someone who steers clear of imports whenever possible, I do note their proliferation here. But GM is not alone, as this sort of stuff can be found just about any place antiques are sold. On balance, we have found GM to a real Columbus jewel. One of my absolute favorite places in town and my favorite retail place to shop for old stuff (although I mostly buy at auction!).

Yelp
This place has a little bit of everything and a wide price range. Every Gallery Hop we have to pull ourselves out of this place so we can go everywhere else. I did most of my Christmas shopping last year here and everyone was really pleased with their gifts. I would suggest going here for your first time on a non-Gallery Hop night so you can spend ample time as it will take a few hours to properly go through the place. The store and the restaurants in the area have made this place a hit with any out of town guests that have come for a visit, I highly suggest you give it a try and then spread the word.

Yelp
I finally made it to this place last Saturday. I've heard great things and was really excited to check it out. The good thing is how organized this place is. It really feels like you are in a real furniture store. Everything is set into rooms, and it's very easy to navigate around the store. As for the product, it wasn't quite my style. I didn't really find anything that jumped out at me, or that I would consider for my house. As much as I did enjoy looking around, I don't think this will made it to my list of places I make sure to visit often.

Yelp
Received communication from the owner today with a check for their entire commission. I appreciate their caring in this situation.
