Walls of the chalet are paper thin. Neighbors brought a baby with them to the chalet. Baby cried off and on all night long. The chalet should have age restrictions so people who can remember the experience can enjoy it. I also thought the staff there were not particularly helpful and did the bare minimum. I also stayed at Sperry Chalet this summer and the staff there went above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful. What a difference in attitude and professionalism. The only plus is the location-which is spectacular. It could be better with a little tweaking.

We had a great trip. It was so close to many trails you normally can't reach in a day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downfall was walls were paper thin, so you heard all your neighbors. Wearing ear plugs at night was a must, but the views were breathe taking.

Obv great location - u don’t need these reviews for that info. The staff are amazing as are their backstories. The chalet is more a hikers hostel to manage expectations. But clean and safe. Specially the bunk beds have comfortable and firm mattresses, so folks with iffy backs, feel good about this. The floor is not flat (rock slabs etc) so those planning any stretching etc consider requesting staff either in advance or on the day of, for extra blankets and perhaps a sheet for hygiene.

It's a historic Chalet in a wilderness! Gorgeous views, amazingly friendly staff. The kitchen times are bit early (4:30-6:30p), but having a kitchen is a luxury! There's a 7:30p evening program for all hotel guests where hot water, coffee, tea, and cocoa are offered. The pit toilet is an absolute hazard. It's being used by all hikers and guests all day long, and it's ripe. Riper than ripe. Bring a mask and don't stand downwind. As other have mentioned the walls are thin. Like thinner than thin. I have never experienced anything like it. "There are no secrets in the chalet" was said by staffmember while offering ear plugs. Wear them. Our room was outfitted with 2 bunk sets, sleeping 4. The $40 offered bedding was a treat! I stayed nice and warm, and the beds were fairly comfortable. Personally, I slept really well. Extra blankets and flashlights were also offered. We even got to witness the pack mules on our way down!

Not a review on the lodging. I hiked the Highline Trail to Swift Current Pass to Many Glacier one day on my Glacier NP trip a few summers ago. They had Gatorade bottles here for a surprisingly reasonable price. Was a godsend right after the hike up to the Grinnell Glacier overlook.

You have to earn it by lining in but that makes it even sweeter. Unmatched beauty and always provides great conversations with others staying or hiking through!

I'm sure this is a lovely place for whoever gets to stay here.||But I couldn't find any information online about how likely that was...so I thought I'd put our experience here.||We were logged on and were refreshing the page when reservations first opened and clicked the reservation button within 2 seconds of it showing up. We had all the info pre-typed and pasted it in to the form very quickly.|We offered all five days that we would be in glacier for any 1 or 2 nights that were available planning to mold the rest of our trip around this stay.|By the time we pressed submit, we were 876th in line and we got an email a couple days later that our week was completely full. ||So, even if you do everything they recomend (offer multiple dates, pre-prepare your info, log on at the excact time they release availability) - it seems pretty unlikely you will get a room...at least for a family.||I think its pretty irresponsible that the travel guides feature these backcountry lodges as a - not to be missed - highlight. It seems like a low-probability lottery ticket at best - even if you do everything in your power. ||It's not the lodges fault...they have the rooms they have. But I thought there should be info on the internet somewhere about how likely it was to get one of them - it would have affected our trip plan.

Just stopped by for a break. Simply stunning views. Gray- crowned rosy finches were present so good birding.

Yelp
Great place, Spectacular views, ... Breathtaking hikes, but they want you out of bed by 8:30 am at the latest. Even though quiet time is 10 pm, people stay up talking (Talking loud) well past that point. You can ask them to whisper, but that doesn't help. There are really no walls between the rooms, just half logs stacked together with an inch and a half of space between the two halve's. No, you can not see into the other room, but you can hear everything from the other room as if there were no walls. The chalet offers ear plugs but that only helps if the other people try to be quiet. Everyone should be told at check in about respect for other guests by being quiet between certain hours because of the walls. So, my point, if your not out of bed by 8:30, even though you have only slept a few hours because of the noise the other guests are making, you will be awakened by the staff going through the empty rooms with their music extremely loud (really dude, that's why they make the earbud). I did ask him to turn it down, the response was totally childish. The next few minutes were filled with multiple, yes multiple, doors slamming accompanied with loud music. He did make an effort to slam the doors. He went down the stairs, came back up, went into the room on the east side of mine, slammed both doors. Then, he went to the room on the west side and slammed those doors. And then he went back to the east room and slammed those doors again. All within a few minutes. I realize the staff gets their time off during the day, and they need that time, but at whose expense!? I really want to go back and hike the trails I didn't do and even spend more time on the trails already done. But that may not be possible, now. The socialities were great if you were face to face, but don't hinder their free time. Only one of the four staff didn't seem to worried about her free time. I guess she was had been there longer or she was having someone make the noise for her. Who knows. All I know, if we weren't on their schedule, ... Really, moving the hot water to the staff counter just because it's after 9:00 am. How subtle can you be, you already had breakfast. Overall, we had a great time at the Granite Park Chalet. I appreciate what this family is doing to make these places more accessible. Thank you (everyone at the office) for the accomodations you made. I could not have made this trip without you.

Yelp
Expect terrible customer service!! After you have paid in full, you do not receive a refund even if the main road and trails into the chalet are closed due to forest fires. Think twice before booking in the month of August or September. They have a strict no refund policy and stick to it no matter what. The demand here is so high that reasonable accommodations and customer service are completely lacking. You will never reach anyone on the phone if you call the number listed, only get voicemail. If you email a question, you may or may not get a reply. After paying in full, I emailed a couple weeks prior to our stay to inquire about whether or not they issued refunds in the setting of the road and trails being closed, and instead of answering my question, they just cancelled my reservation! I had to email them back and inform them that I was only asking a question, and fortunately our 6 spots were still available to re-book. We had to cancel our reservation in the end since the road to Logan Pass was closed from the west; it's several hours to reach the pass from the east if you're staying on the west. My only recourse was to wait until the very last minute to cancel (I already knew I wouldn't get any of the $600 back) so that they couldn't re-book those spots and double-dip another $600. Buyer beware.
