Perfect place for a special occasion, birthday, anniversary etc. The food is beyond. They have a seasonal menu that highlights the time of year. I enjoyed that there was a small menu that was full of fabulous items, rather than a large menu with filler food. The cocktails were made perfectly and the dessert was on point. This was an experience that I would definitely recommended.

We came back in 2019 for Valentine's Day. Again had reservations, but waited well over an hour to be seated. As before, the people, the food, the atmosphere, and my French Martini was great. We stood at the bar for a while, because drinks are not allowed in the waiting area. Then seats at the bar opened up and we were able to sit down. We had great conversations with people we met and the bartender, Cory, was excellent. We finally were seated and our server was friendly, attentive, and our meals were perfect. My suggestion, if you are making people wait that long to be seated when they have reservations, and you are already charging exta for the experience, and have failed to deliver on the package ... offer them a complementary drink as compensation. I have not changed my rating from last year, but was tempted to drop it down, as the price paid, there was no excuse for the delay in the seating for us and many others. Sometimes the experience you have includes the attitude you bring with you. (Me) Below is my first review. First visit here. It was Valentine's Day, but we had reservations, so we were seated promptly. Not sure if they were short staff, but our wait between ordering and receiving anything was very slow. Most items were great. I ordered the 8oz filet, and my husband ordered the duck. He said mine was the better choice, and I would agree. The oyster selection was very good as well. The dessert champagne cake was moist, but nothing spectacular. The 2012 malbec was just opened, I was told. But the temperature was too warm. But the French Martini was very well made. Overall a great expierience, but over priced for the experience. My suggestion try this place when it is not a set price per person.

Wow! My husband and I are foodies and love to travel and try new places. We loved this place! The food is delicious & presented beautifully. The staff are all knowledgeable and wonderful. We will definitely be dining again soon!

I thought that the server we had was slow responding to our needs, as he appeared to be more attentive to customers who arrived after us, taking their order while we were sitting for about 15 minutes with our menus closed. (The reason for the low star rating) The food was very good and we enjoyed our drinks. The hostess was very nice, and the dining/lounge area were clean.

Google
The food itself was decent, but service was awful. Showed up for dinner not aware there was a special Valentine’s Day fixed menu at a set price and we were unable to order from the regular menu. This would have been fine if communicated beforehand, but it was listed nowhere on the reservation, their website, socials, and it wasn’t mentioned when they called to confirm the reservation. None of the other diners around us knew about the fixed menu either. Both of us got the steak, we were never brought steak knives. We had asked multiple people for steak knives, and never ended up getting them. We asked for our dessert to go, they ended up bringing it to us plated. These are small things that wouldn’t normally matter to us, but it all added up. Our waitress was MIA after taking our order and wasn’t back until she dropped our check off 2 hours later. The food and drinks were good, so it was a big disappointment that the service was so lackluster, especially for the price for our meals. Would not recommend.

Google
We came here for our Mother’s Day dinner and when we were sat it took a long time to get greeted by our server and get water. Drinks took a while to come out and when our food came out, the portion sizes were pathetic for what they charged you. I understand sometimes when you don’t get quantity because the quality is good but the quality wasn’t even there. I ordered a petite filet with shrimp and received the smallest piece of filet I could imagine along with 2 barely cooked shrimp. Flavor from the dish was absent and overall this whole dinner was a disappointment and we felt completely ripped off for what we were served. Too expensive and a disappointing meal.

This place was a bit of an all right. I came here for dinner one evening, we were staying in the hotel and so we were seated pretty much immediately as soon as we got there. We had they were white tables and white table service and I would say the service was really good and the wait stuff does make recommendations for you we tried the steak and potatoes and I got the lump crab with the brussels sprouts. I would say the food is well prepared and the wait stuff is really good with us however the food was just sort of average. I didn't come here expecting to get anything decadent or out-of-the-way from a gastronomical experience but I do think that the food is solid and well presented and well-prepared and it's a solid dinner option for the area. It does help that it's inside the hotel and still people who are staying there have an easy spot to go to for dinner. I don't really recommend coming here for anything that isnt traditional American food.

Google
Service took forever. We constantly waited for everything - to get water, to get drinks, to order, water refills,, for our check. If service was better, we would have had another round of drinks but it was terrible. Food was good, but nothing to write home about.

Yelp
I sat at the bar. They were very busy. Once the bartender noticed I sat down (I was there for about 8 minutes) he was apologetic and very attentive. I ordered a glass of Banfi (tried and true) but he did give me tasters of a couple others first. This restaurant has half orders! I ordered a half wedge salad, which had wonderful blue cheese and blue cheese dressing added a little fresh pepper and it was a slam dunk (watching final four). I also ordered the half filet dinner. Hands down one of the best filets ever. It is accompanied by mashed potato and fresh asparagus. Blissful. The bread comes out warm and it is homemade. Excellent dinner.

Yelp
This use to be our go to place for birthdays, anniversaries, with company or just having a snack and drinks at the bar. I am sorry but the service, food and drinks are not what they use to be. Wait staff, attention to details are lacking. One person in our party got a wrong drink it was like it was her fault but we all heard her order it. We all got the filet and three of us the meat was cooked wrong. Waitress never came over to ask how it was cooked or tasted. In her defense we have never seen her before and looked like you were very short staffed. We feel driving to Manchester for food and drinks is better than what you have been offering, sorry to say. Loved the restaurant but it's not like it use to be. The hostess made us feel bad for arriving 8 minutes before you opened and made us sit in the hall?? Awkward, and sorry but we like a place we feel they are happy to see you.

Yelp
I made a reservation well in advance for 7:00 pm on Valentine's Day. My date and I arrived at 7:00 and were told that there would be a 15-minute wait. OK, I'm not going to get upset about that. And the wait turned out to be shorter than 15 minutes, so that was good. We were seated at a table next to a drafty window, and it was a cold and very windy night. So it was a tad chilly. There was only a prix fixe menu, with three choices of starters, three choices of main courses, and two desserts, for $75 per person. Nobody mentioned this to me when I made the reservation, but OK, we'll go with it. It took quite a while for anyone to come over even take drink orders. Once the drink orders were taken, the drinks came quickly. My glass of Liberty cabernet was quite good. But then much time passed before anyone took our food orders. We were told that one of the servers was feeling woozy, so that the rest of the staff was pitching in. OK, but still, it was taking a long time. We finally got our orders taken, and once again it took a long time for even the starter course to come out. My date and I both ordered lobster bisque. We both like salt, but the lobster bisque was way too salty for either of us. We each ate a few spoonfuls and put it aside. It was borderline inedible. When a server came by, we explained the problem, and she got us shrimp cocktails instead. They came out reasonably quickly and were OK. They had four large shrimp, but the shrimp were pretty bland. My date is a pescatarian, and she ordered the scallop dish, which comes with bacon. She asked for the bacon to be omitted, was told that it can't be, and decided to roll with it. She then changed her mind, and got to a server who changed her order to a veggie pasta dish. Again, many moons later, our main courses arrived. And lo and behold, the scallop dish with bacon was put in front of my date. We explained the mixup to the server, and they got a replacement pasta dish out quickly. Once we each had our main courses, they were pretty good. I ordered filet mignon, which was cooked properly, and there was a lot of it. It came with pureed potatoes and gravy, which were quite good. My date liked her pasta dish. My date got the chocolate torte dessert, and I got the banana creme brûlée ice cream. The torte was good, and I'd say that the ice cream was outstanding. Fortunately, we didn't have anywhere else we had to be, because we didn't get out of there until around 9:30. I like a leisurely dinner, but this was just too slow and laden with too many problems. I will not be going back.

Yelp
interesting restaurant, situated on the outskirts of downtown in a grand and gothic red brick building. It took us a minute to see it was the right place, certainly did not look like a restaurant from the outside. We figured Out eventually it is actually located in a fancy boutique hotel. It was a pretty formal setting, kind of stiff and a bit condescending. But based on Yelp reviews we decided to stop in for lunch. Somewhat limited menu for lunch, but my clam chowder and cheeseburger were very good! Crab cake not so good. $100 for 3 of us!

Yelp
This was a nice little intimate space. You'd never know it was there! Everything we had was delicious and very well prepared and presented. We especially liked the bacon and eggs grits app and the short rib entree. Place was very clean, friendly staff. I could've done without the country music though.

Yelp
Why aren't there more brunch places in Concord? And why does the best brunch place in Concord only have brunch on Sundays? And how many times can I say brunch in one review, you ask? Well, let me continue. We went for brunch and it was fabulous. The bacon is a fat slab of deliciousness and the bloody marys were spicy, tangy and slapped you around in all the good ways. My friend got biscuits and gravy and I got a breakfast burrito. Both of us were so fat and happy when we left. Go here. Do it. Go for brunch. Brunch it.

Yelp
I used to really like this place. We did have good service but the food was terrible! I ordered shrimp scampi and the shrimp were so small they looked like they came from a can. 2 other people ordered lamb and it was ridiculously small! The manager comped our meals but we left hungry and so disappointed. Sad to say that we will not be back

Yelp
Definitely one of the best restaurants in concord. My wife and I stop in about once every month or two. The atmosphere is high-endish but not over the top. The bar has comfortable seats and is well stocked for an wide variety of martini's. It also has a very good selection of wine which my wife will attest to. The bartender is always friendly and attentive...... Great Guy! I always get an Caesar salad with anchovies...even my wife likes it that way, give it a try. They always serve fresh warm rolls with herbed butter and olive oil for dipping. I got a stoli dirty martini & my wife got a stoli cosmo..both were great. Very good martini bar, Period! For dinner I got the 8 oz fillet with a demi glaze sauce, asparagus & mashed potatoes. My wife got the leek wrapped cod....both Very Yummy. Great place to go for dinner!...my one caveat is that they have limited bar seating so it can be hard to get a bar seat depending on when you show up.

Yelp
We always looked forward to special celebrations at this restaurant. However, after spending Mother's Day there for dinner, we all left disappointed. Meals were highly overpriced for the quantity of food received -- I ordered the scallops; received only 3 (not 5 or 6 as in the past), accompanied by "red potatoes." The potatoes were shaved paper thin, and fried ... and only 3 very small pieces. The sauce was excellent, but I was hungry by the time we returned home (one-hour drive). The entrees are smaller than appetizers in most restaurants. We won't be returning ...

Yelp
Lovely restaurant for a cocktail or a delicious dinner. Excellent staff, diverse menu and an intimate atmosphere makes for a terrific dining experience.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had Easter brunch here and the food was delicious. This was our first time here and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was both clean and inviting. The wait staff were friendly and the overall service great. I got the hamburger and my fiancé the strata and both were was tasty. We'd recommend getting an espresso martini: delicious!

Yelp
Our first time at this restaurant , the food was superb !, the service was exceptional! Our server was Sarah and she really did an excellent job of making our experience wonderful !! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be coming back !

Yelp
We went here for Thanksgiving, and it was an amazing experience. The dining area is on the smaller side, but it had great atmosphere, and the pricing was reasonable. Definitely a good place for a special occasion! The chef was very attentive to dietary restrictions(gluten/celiac) and they were able to provide an excellent meal for everyone. The flavors were great, portions were perfect, and I found myself very full at the end of the meal. We would definitely go here again. The food and the staff were incredible! Thank you for an awesome dinner!

Yelp
Taking a page from 'Parks and Recreation' Donna's life philosophy of "treat yourself," the decision to do so had commenced. This type of place is outside of my usual price range, so I wanted to have something special. Walking to the restaurant, the atmosphere is light, even delicate in a sense. Opting for a high table, it was time to settle in to delight in the parade of delectable escapades. Starting the meal with a local brew, 603 brewery on tap. It may have been a sin but I cannot deny what makes me, me. Enjoying my craft beer I awaited and partook in the first course. Beef Carpaccio. Only experiencing such a delicacy once before, I had high expectations and they were met. The beef was mouth watering and seemed to melt away before you could even chew. Arugula added more of a texture to the beef. The crostini didn't quite have a crunch to it, but yet was firm. The Beef Carpaccio was a fleeting, beautiful experience. Time for the second course, Filet Mignon. I had mostly finished my beer by the time this had arrived. It was time for a wine. I opted for a true pairing, a wine with a little spice to the finish. Catena Malbec 2012 was the choice for this meal, and a good pairing. The Filet Mignon was tender, delicate, and juicy. The asparagus was crisp and mild, complimenting the Filet Mignon. The mashed potatoes had nice texture and absorbed the other flavors well. The demi-glace added another layer of appreciation to the meal. The experience was otherwise complete, but the server had suggested dessert. I felt him a little nudgy (not pushy), but was happy that he did so. Appetite quite satiated, the choice was for a welcomed half dessert, chocolate truffles. They were rich and delicious. The service was good. I have no complaints. It was a lovely experience to partake in while visiting Concord.

Yelp
I don't think we got one smile from our server all night, even when I advised that we were celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday. The focaccia was ice cold. We asked if it could be warmed. After telling us it was normally served room temp, our server took it away for about 15 min and returned with it still colder than room temp... The dinner was pretty good, had the short rib, it needed a little more sauce. Honestly, the sourpuss server really ruined the whole experience

Yelp
We wanted to love this restaurant. We ate last night, Sunday, so maybe that is why it was so lacking. Our server was okay, but often forgot the different items we requested. We watched other servers clear the dirty wine and water glasses onto the mantel over the fireplace and then stick their fingers inside them to remover them off the mantel. My hope is that they washed their hands after. We were constantly batting at the four or five fruit flies that were swarming our table. The lighting was perfect when we first arrived then they turned it up in the middle of our dinner and we felt like we were all on stage. We requested that our waitress turn them down, but she never did. There was also an annoying hum in the dining room the entire dinner. It would shut off for two seconds, and then start again. The food (which is the most important) was a mixed bag. The appetizers were fabulous. We had the gnocchi, tomato soup and special salad. They were out of scallops and the waitress did not make us aware until we ordered. Most of the entrees were undercooked and underwhelming. My filet came medium rare when I ordered it medium well and demi-glace was lacking any seasoning or flavor. The lamb we ordered well done plus, came rare and the duck came out rare after ordering it medium. We sent some items back, and suffered through the others. The veggies and potatoes on the plates were warm at best. The mashed potatoes needed salt and pepper. We hoped that dessert would end the night right, but it didn't. We ordered the pomegranate cheesecake, peanut butter molten cake and orange chocolate mousse. The waitress brought out our desserts and put a snickerdoodle cheesecake in front of me and said "they changed the cheesecake special, so I brought you out this hoping it would be okay". I don't like snickerdoodle at all, so told her I would try something else. She was visibly annoyed. She took the cheesecake out from in front of me and brought it back to the kitchen. The molten chocolate cake was not molten and the peanut butter in it was in the ice cream on the side. The highlight was the orange chocolate mousse; it was fabulous. The manager did visit our table and apologize for the meat issues telling us that his cook on tonight was young and not very experienced. They bought us our desserts, but sadly it didn't make up for the $40 filet that was lacking any flavor and was cooked incorrectly.

Yelp
I had been going to Granite since before it became Granite, more than a decade ago. Unfortunately, as of this writing (Sep 29, 2021) it has been closed for more than a year because of COVID-19. The announcement on their website alludes to it being a temporary closure, and they might reopen at some point. I'll be there if/when it does reopen. I don't know if it's open to the hotel's guests.

Yelp
They have a interesting menu where everything looks good. Food was delicious. And, wait staff was very helpful.

Yelp
Wonderful choice for an upscale meal. The new manager has really kicked things up a notch. I will be back for sure. I enjoyed some great wine here recently. We live in town so I haven't stayed here but it sure looks like a nice place.

Yelp
well we were looking for a lunch spot and our daughter suggested this..we were very pleased, in a big old brick inn which probably has some interesting history, dining room is very nice and upscale looking, service was pleasant, drinks were good and they had some interesting ones to offer, food was excellent, had their spinach salad with chicken and their fish and chips...really liked it here, they have some different hours serving breakfast and lunch and dinner in certain time slots...very nice!!

Yelp
THIS IS NOT A VEGAN RESTAURANT Very disappointed with my experience at Granite. The main reason I use Yelp and not walk into random restaurants is to avoid awkward situations in which i can't find anything that fits my dietary needs on the menu and have to walk out. And that is exactly what happened at Granite. Yes, salads are vegan. But without any source of nutrients or protein or substantial calories, they are placeholders until then next meal. The bread for the portobello sandwich is not vegan, nor does the restaurant have any vegan breads. I didn't ask about the veggie stir fry but unless they use straight soy sauce there is most likely fish sauce or something else not vegan in it. Seemed like a great atmosphere, very upscale which i enjoy. Staff were short and seemed rushed, could have just been an off day based on the other comments. I would recommend this for anyone who is not vegan. However, until the denotation is taken out of their Yelp account, or they actually have a vegan option, they are not a vegan restaurant.

Yelp
This review of for brunch which is known as the best meal offered at this restaurant. It has all the typical brunch options you would expect, except the brunch is certainly not cheap. The portions are quite small. The cinnamon buns that they offer as a free treat were a great addition to the meal. I did feel a bit rushed in my brunch experience. Overall, the value (price to quality ratio) is disproportionate. I wouldn't come here all the time, but it's probably one of the better brunch places in the downtown Concord area.

Yelp
So very disappointed to arrive at the restaurant for breakfast with a reservation and to have it disregarded as we were turned away! But as one door closes, another opens. We decided to try EJ's in the Holiday Inn. We were warmly greeted and treated wonderful by the stall. Just by chance we ended up there and it was wonderful....Thanks Granite for shutting us out this morning.

Yelp
I visited The Granite 18 months ago and had a great time. Good drinks and food in a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, my most recent visit couldn't be more different. Our drinks were okay and they had a good selection on their cocktail menu. The oysters were gritty and when I ordered them on the half shell it wasn't noted anywhere that they'd already be in vinegar. When I squeezed lemon on them (as I typically do) they were almost inedible because of the amount of acid. I love vinegar on oysters but that should be communicated. The house cured bacon in the gnocchi appetizer was great and the tomatoes were fresh. The texture of the gnocchi was fairly good. My BF and I ordered half entrees and they weren't kidding. They were very small and looked almost laughable on the gigantic plate they were served on. My half salmon was cooked and seasoned well but the mushrooms tasted like and had the consistency of leather and the potatoes were completely unseasoned. The scallop risotto looked more promising and the scallops were well cooked. What killed this dish was the risotto, it was comparable to unflavored Quaker oatmeal. Our waitress was kind, but I feel as if she avoided our table because it took a long time to get our appetizers and an even longer time to get it entrees. If it takes over an hour to get an entree from the time an order is placed, perhaps offer a free entree, more bread, or a reduced meal price. The place was nearly empty, I would have expected a better turnaround time.

Yelp
The Granite restaurant sits Inside this beautiful restored centennial hotel. With a quiet clean dining room that can seat 80. With Chef Corey Fletcher at the helm this place can never go wrong. I have been here dozens of times and never had a bad meal. If you're going to have a meal or party in Concord NH this is the place to have it.

Yelp
I was on the road for business and staying at the Centennial Hotel. Stopped by for something to eat (Sunday night) and loved it. I'd been here with my family a few years back and was happy that the service/atmosphere & menu were still awesome. Friendly staff & patrons paired with an excellent menu made for a lovely evening. The rose that had was delicious & dessert was SOOOO good!! Hoping to get back in town again!

Yelp
What a pleasant lunch visit. Plenty of parking, no wait, great service. The crab cake BLT, clam chowder, and Caesar salad with salmon were all well prepared. Nice service. The prices were reasonable. We will be back soon.

Yelp
nice restaurant for the area. staff was very attentive. Nothing wowed us overall, but it was tasty and convenient as we were staying in the hotel. I had the trout.

Yelp
Tonight was our first time visiting this restaurant. My boyfriend and I have travelled the world, tried numerous types of cuisine, and have spent numerous years in the culinary industry. From the cocktails to the appetizers, to the entrees, we were BEYOND IMPRESSED! We started with the Blood Orange Martini and the Antioxidant Martini, and we enjoyed the cheese platter as a first appetizer. We then decided to try the tuna tartare, and we both agreed that it was delicious and the portion was perfect for two to share. For our entrees, I ordered the trout. It literally melted in the mouth. We also wanted Beef Wellington, and although it is not on the menu, after a phone call four hours ahead, the chef, Mike agreed to prepare it for us. It was truly the best we have ever had, and a butter knife would have cut through the tender and succulent beef. We chose to enjoy a bottle of wine with our entrees. We were amazed at the extensive wine list that was offered, and we were equally impressed with the amount of both domestic and foreign wines. When in doubt, order a wine from Italy. You cannot go wrong. Crawford is an outstanding bartender who is personable and very experienced. Bill is an attentive and friendly server. Mike is an outstanding sous chef. We have found our new favorite place, and we WILL RETURN; and we will bring friends and family.

Yelp
Waited 1/2 hour for a drink at the bar and had to flag down staff proactively to get a drink. Dinner was meh, service was meh. Not worth the cost.

Yelp
Super fancy. Our waiter Nick treated us like we belonged there, despite the fact that we did not. The food was awesome and surprisingly affordable. I will be back and I will probably eat something I normally would not.

Yelp
We stayed at the Centennial Hotel for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the onsite restaurant. We had 3 meals here, 2 dinners and 1 breakfast. Both dinners were delicious. Between the 2 nights the great items we had were the caesar salad, the Great Hill Blue Cheese, Smoked Bacon and Spinach salad, Beef Kefta Kabob, Bucatini Carbonara, Hand Cut Beef Tenderloin and a steamed clam appetizer (it was a special). I was disappointed by the gnocchi and I love gnocchi. There was very little gnocchi and a lot of chicken and cream sauce. The chicken was delicious, but I ordered gnocchi and was hoping for gnocchi with chicken versus the opposite. Both dinners we sat at the bar top and were pleased with the service from the bartenders. I do wish I would've saved room for a chocolate martini. They looked REALLY good. Breakfast food and service was just okay. My husband ordered sausage and although the portion was quite generous be said the sausage was gamey and not very good. If you like small, pork sausage this is not the sausage for you. My only complaint regarding service was that the server did not bring cream with the coffee. I assume that's just a given when you order coffee. When she brought the coffee she asked if I wanted cream and when I said yes she said "the girl that took your drink order did not tell me that so I didn't bring any" I was okay with that answer but then she took our order and forgot. My husband eventually got up and asked someone for cream. Sadly, they weren't even busy. There was only one other table.

Yelp
We made OpenTable reservations the morning of for 4. I was pretty shocked that our time was available, but so goes Concord. We arrived before the rest of our party, and the hostess had no problem with us waiting at the bar. Drinks were perfectly acceptable, but definitely on the pricier side. The bartender had no problem with my husband's request to find the basketball game (but he wasn't overly busy). We were seated as soon as our friends arrived. Our waitress did not greet us for what seemed at least 10-15 minutes, however, we didn't mind because we were catching up with friends we haven't seen in a while - if it was just my husband and I, I would have been annoyed seeing as how the restaurant was not that busy. All four of us order half portions...the salmon, the filet, the scallops, and the duck. We were all perfectly happy with our drinks and our food. The orange chocolate mousse was a larger portion than my dinner, and amazing. I would have been annoyed to pay the full bill for the portion sizes (I would call them a fourth, not a half), but our friends had a gift certificate they had been sitting on that took care of most of the bill. The atmosphere was quiet and clean. We had a very pleasant evening, but left and ordered a couple appetizers at another establishment because we were still hungry!

Yelp
Breakfast very disappointed . Definitely need more training. Had to ask for everything salt and pepper. Toast was burnt, ask for butter. Not offered water. Nice atmosphere

Yelp
Big potential, poor execution. That's what the Granite Restaurant and the Centennial Hotel in which it's located are all about. First of all, when we came down for breakfast there was no one around. One family was finishing their meal, but there were no staff to be seen. We seated our selves but after a few minutes we gave up and asked the concierge at the front desk if there was anyone to help us. Once a waitress was found, she was very friendly the food came out quite quickly. I would be more forgiving of this if not for the fact that the same thing happened when we were going to check out. This time we finally found some one in the restaurant who found the concierge. The fresh blueberry/blackberry muffins were delicious. Eggs Benedict were nicely poached if meekly hollandaised. My omelet of oyster mushrooms, goat cheese, spinach and shrimp was promising, but the large shrimp that one would be pleased to find in most other dishes we ungainly in an omelet. Why do so many restaurants insist on serving an inch thick disk of scrambled eggs folded over some filling. I want my omelets thin and delicate. Even with all of that it was still pretty damn tasty. Execution problems reared their head again in the Parmesan hash browns with chive creme fraiche which were rather undercooked to the point of being crunchier on the inside than the out. But the flavor won out over the texture problems and I ate them all anyway. The Hotel has only been open a few months so I can only hope that next time I'm in Concord they'll have figured out their inconsistency issues and settles into a very fine little establishment.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and the wine list is decent. Four stars for the staff but one star for the food. I am an expert in risotto preparation and have eaten it in Italy, Ticino, and elsewhere. I have created over 60 different risotti. Sadly, this risotto tastes like oatmeal and isn't even close to what risotto should taste like. The half portion idea is ok for some dishes but the salmon dish looks ridiculous in a half portion. It's about three uninspired bites.

Yelp
We were recommended by a friend who gave this place a great review. Thank god we didn't read the two poor reviews before we arrived, they are so far off! Keep in mind we have eaten at some pretty elegant places over the years to make a good comparison. We were immediately greeted by the friendly host who seated us immediately even though we didn't have a reservation on a Wednesday night. We first asked if there was room at the bar and he diligently first checked the entire area for us but there was only one seat free. Passed the bar area - unlike the other reviewer said, sports wasn 't on the TV and the room was not overly loud. There are half height walls on either side for privacy. The dining area is obviously updated, tasteful and simply elegant. There is a separate glass room for private parties. Our friendly waitress came right over and got our drink order. Someone complained on the drinks being pricy in an earlier review - well you get what you paid for here. The drinks are large and potent. My spouse was already around the bend after one gin martini! Menu selection was good with a nice variation for all types. I got the duck breast and my spouse the scallops with a salad and fried mozzarella appetizer. Salad was a wonderful mix and I've never seen fried mozzarella served this way - two circular pads with a mix of green, sliced tomatoes and other mixes in the center. It was a delight! I asked for my duck medium rare and when it arrived, it was cooked perfect and the sauce was to die for! My spouses scallops were delectable and seared to perfection. Portion sizes for both were perfect. Not too much and not too little. Note unlike the other bad review (which is suspicious) all food arrived at the perfect temperature. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. This place strikes me as a simple elegant hotel restaurant that we will definitely be trying again.

Yelp
The food tastes great, and the service was fine. Unfortunately the portions for the price are absurd, even by hotel standards. A 3 Oz piece of halibut with a dab of cauliflower puree and a few pieces of chopped up broccoli and carrots for $19 is ridiculous. In short, plan on ordering more than you think you'll possibly eat, and you'll probably be comfortably full when you leave.

Yelp
I'm so shocked this only has 3.5 stars!! I used to only hear about the Sunday Brunch but My husband and I ate here last night for dinner and we had SUCH yummy food!!! Our waiter Nick was wonderful and we wanted to lick our plates after every course!! Highlights were the house made kimchi, black garlic gnocchi and of course the lemon chiffon cake ! We're certainly going back!!

Yelp
Every time we go to the Granite the food is delicious and well presented. The service is consistently wonderful and the atmosphere is perfect. It's a fun place for a date or ladies night and I'd highly recommend it.

Yelp
My wife and I refer to this place as "a nice option." It strives to be a cut above the rest of the restaurants in Concord and that's to be commended. When I look at the menu my eyes wander from option to option, not really excited about anything. Usually I settle for the chicken, and it's very good. It's a nice option.

Yelp
Located in the Centennial Hotel which is a really cool building with some history. We had reservations for 8 people. They kindly upgraded us to a semi-private area that was empty that night. We started with martinis. Mine was tasty and strong. My husband did not enjoy his syrupy concoction. When we switched to beer, the draft beer list did not reflect what the actual drafts on tap were so that was a bit confusing. The appetizers shared among the table (tuna tartare, egg rolls and carpaccio) were fantastic. The tuna was my favorite...very tasty and fresh. As for the entrees, I can't speak for everyone but I think the collective opinion was good. My hanger steak was nicely prepared and cooked exactly to my liking. The demi-glace was quite delicious and a nice accompaniment to the potatoes and vegetables. My husband had the lamb shank which he devoured but admitted that he liked my steak better. When the night went longer than intended, they didn't try to kick us out even after the place was empty. As for service, the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, albeit a little quirky. He could only take a couple drink orders a time for some reason. I can't really speak about the speed of which we received everything because we were having a great time conversing over drinks, but I can tell you that the drinks came pretty quickly! Next time, we will definitely check out the breakfast or Sunday brunch.

Yelp
I have been to the Granite more than a dozen times, over the past couple of years, and have never had a disappointing meal. The fish dishes, in particular, are always cooked perfectly, as are the fresh vegetables. I noticed in the Yelp description that the restaurant was loud. When seated in the main dining room, to the right as you walk in, I have always enjoyed quiet conversations, and have thought of it as an "average noise level" restaurant. Even when the bar is packed, and everyone is chatting, it has never been rowdy, in my experience. Update Apr. 17, 2013: Stopped in yesterday and had one of the best meals there... "Walnut Crusted Faroe Island Salmon" with barley and spinach risotto, garlic roasted broccoli and cauliflower, and a dollop of cranberry mustard jam on top. Everything was cooked perfectly. The toasted walnuts and jam worked so well in contrasting textures and flavors with the medium-rare salmon. Also I had a bowl of parsnip puree soup with truffle oil and three small highly flavored chips (potato? tortillia? corn?). Incredible! Great idea. Last night's server was "Bill". Table service has always been good, but this new-to-me server was outstanding. Like the meal, he was the perfect balance of friendliness, good humor, thoughtfulness and polite professionalism.
