Granite Rock Grille

The other day we went for breakfast at this lovely café. Everything was beautiful — very cozy and charming. I ordered the poached eggs, and the sauce was absolutely amazing. The gravy was delicious, and the fried potatoes were perfectly crispy, just the way they should be. I also really enjoyed the Bloody Mary — it was served in an impressively large glass with pepper and vegetables, everything done just right. Beautiful presentation and great taste. It’s a pity it didn’t include vodka, but it was still delicious. My husband ordered the pork with potatoes, but unfortunately, neither the pork nor the sauce tasted as good as it had been described to us. That’s why we’re not giving it five stars. Overall though, the portions are very big — huge, actually. And the staff is super friendly.

A great neighborhood breakfast/brunch cafe, with tasty fare, great coffee and fantastic, friendly service. We've been there a couple of times, trying different dishes, and have not been disappointed. Highly recommend it!

Shocked and wondering if they changed hands? New owners maybe? Been coming here for 20+years and having moved back to Rocklin having it delivered. Granite Rock had always been Rock solid….always good always plenty to eat. Ordered it delivered today and it was like it came from a different restaurant, way smaller portions (even the famous biscuit! Hash browns were burnt. Chorizo scramble was good flavor but 3 fork fullls! Ordered two sides of refs and it looked like two eggs scrambled! Again shocked hopefully this was a one off and not a new trend for them 😭

This was our first visit and the food and service were impeccable. I ordered Gabes Grilled Cheese Benedict with crispy House potatoes 🤌 which were delicious and a dish I'd highly recommend.

Gonna end up aa our go to breakfast spot..feel like I went back in time when the town folk all met at the local diner for coffee in the morning to chat about current events. Blue vinyl seats and tabletops, wood paneling, hand painted walls set the stage. I don't know how one gets excited about a pancake, but they put out the best we've had. So, yeah, it's something good. You get a really decent breakfast meal and a pleasant atmosphere. And, the bloody Mary's are spectacular! I recommend 100%

BEST breakfast I’ve had in my life! I ordered strawberry pancakes (because strawberries were in season), with hash browns and sausages. Other orders in our group included hamburgers and eggs plus biscuits with gravy. Everything was beyond delicious, and even the fresh-squeezed orange juice was amazing! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Can’t wait to go here again!

This place is amazing. Had to get my windshield replaced down the road stopped by for breakfast and let me tell you if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Staff amazing food amazing atmosphere amazing 12/5 stars if you can stop by for a bite do it!

10/10 restaurant for large groups First timer here, our party of eight had a great time and very much enjoyed our food. One of us asked for a spoil blt and portions are definitely generous. Staff was the best service we’ve ever had, they were literally on it! Serving coffee, water and whatever we needed.

Food and ambiance was great. Service was also spectacular. Will definitely go back soon with the kids.

I ordered lunch today from Granite Rock Grille via DoorDash. What I received was good. My Lexi's Tuna Stuffed Avocado was fresh, large and well packaged. The Tuna was tasty, and it complemented the rest of the Salad very well. It consisted of lettuce, hardboiled egg, red onion and cabbage, radish and croutons. I will order again. Cost competitive.

I have to come to Rocklin a few times a year for work. I always wanted to try this place, but never had time. But this time I did! I got there really early and was seated immediately. The woman who was there was nice and very attentive, she was also hella patient with me while I was staring at the menu. I ended up getting the omelet and biscuits w/ gravy. The food was good and I was way too full. I should have not eaten that before a full day of work. lol. There's parking on the side and the decor is hella Americana which was cool.

Food was decent but the price was pretty high for the quality of the food. Service was attentive but a little harsh from the wait staff. I was surprised how busy they were with what appeared to be regulars based on the $70.00 bill for a family of 4 (two kids under 10). Chicken and waffles were 6/10, waffle was good, chicken quality was pretty low. Pancake was decent but bacon was over cooked with noticeable black charring on it. Soda is served in a huge cup, the cup is 150% the diameter of a normal cup.

Dannnnnnnng! This place is everything I love. The waitresses were the kind that don't let your coffee cup empty and they call you honey! I absolutely loved the service I mean 10 stars but I need to get right to the point.... From the very first bite I knew that this place knew how to season food! The food was home cooked and full of flavour. Although me and my cousin did NOT get the lightest fare... it wasn't greasy or too heavy... it was delicious and well balanced. I have one regret, I was really wanting to order a piece of toast because the jam on the table looked like the kind my granny used to jar every year:) The look of the restaurant wasn't fancy but it was cozy and I loved the American feel. Also check out the salsa wall... yep the wall:)

Heard about this place awhile ago but finally got a chance to try it. Arrived around 11 am on a weekday. We got seated immediately and there were lots of open tables. Came with a friend. I ordered the chicken fried steak. My friend got a side of corned beef and a cinnamon roll. Portions are large and a good deal for the price! The corned beef is fresh rather than canned which is great. The cinnamon roll I massive and the size of the entire dinner plate! My chicken fried steak was crispy and cooked well. I ordered a biscuit with it which was also twice the size of a normal biscuit. The menu is massive. The servers were attentive and I would return to try other foods.

Always amazing, staff is amazing food is comfort food your mom would cook for you. It's an old school diner inside which I love always super patriotic and decorated for holidays which is super cute ! Their Benedict's and club sandwiches are my absolute favorite !

Why is iced tea better with an iced tea spoon? Why??! I don't know, but it is. Something about vigorously stirring in the sugar makes it better. This is a great breakfast place. It has good value senior options for senior family members. I always get the veggie omelette and it's very good. Big iced tea around, large portions, GREAT service. One star off for the flies. Terrible last time, only a little annoying this time, maybe they are solving the problem. I recommend!

Great dining and excellent Steak Breakfast. The service as top notch, you can't go wrong with Granite Grill with any meal, I've never been disappointed!

Tried out this spot recently. It's a diner that doesn't pretend to be anything but eclectic and charming (with murals and well worn booths). The portions were generous and the food was great. Separate conpliment for the fluffiest biscuits around. Already made plans to sample more next time we are in the area.

I still hold firm on my previous review. However, I did select the homemade biscuit over toast this time, and I'm so glad I did!! The biscuit is a meal unto itself, fluffy and so darn good. It is super humongous. Never skip it as I did last time. Otherwise, the place looks the same with very good and competent service. It seems like the people working here have done so for a very long time. I had forgotten how extensive the menu is for breakfast! There has to be something for everyone, but don't expect anything too creative or low in calories. My choice for this meal was the Santa Fe scramble with home fries. It was an abundant meal and very well prepared. I enjoyed it. The scramble came with a side of salsa that looked and tasted more the consistency of Ketchup. Breakfast is $15. or so, but the portions are very large and filling. I wouldn't rank it at the top of my breakfast places, but it is competent and good when in the mood for a big breakfast of very typical 'greasy spoon' fare.

This is a special place and everything about it is awesome. It's a true, American gem and everything was cute inside. I especially loved the little American flags in the food. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. If I lived in the area, I would make it a place I'd come to all the time to enjoy breakfast with my family.

Gotta love a comfortable family-style restaurant where most of the items on the menu are named after a customer or staff. Great breakfast menu that's gonna take you awhile to go through, so grab a cup of coffee and take your time. The food is a 3-star, everything solid and flavorful - the service and atmosphere moves it to 4-star. There's even a whole line of mimosas for those wanting to do weekend brunch ... and if I were to start a line of specialty foods, I'd use the same of one of their items for it ... Chubby's low fat !!!

Food was cold , waitresses seemed overwhelmed maybe someone called in sick ? I haven't been there since Rich & Kay owned it and will not return

Arrived and was greeted instantly. We were seated quickly. Restaurant is pretty big, seating is spread out which is nice. Waitress was nice. She took our order fairly quickly and made sure to fill our waters occasionally which was nice. Bacon was cooked perfectly! Super tasty. Eggs done right. French toast was also very tasty. Steak 4/5 for rating. Will will be back. :)

Long time family favorite! Staff is always friendly and food is always delicious. It can get busy but worth the wait. When we went in we lucked out had no wait time and they were already decorated for Christmas so cute! We went in for breakfast and our food was served quick and hot. Good options for kids menu and good size portions. Parking lot is small but there is a parking lot close by.

Good morning it's been a while since I posted a review for this great family owned establishment, decor I would say is country themed, service is still great, friendly staff greeting you with a smile, coffee hot and hits the spot, ordered the Clevelyn's Phenomenal Benedict got the full order was alot but delicious (will do a 1/2 order next time), added a homemade biscuit (huge,hot & delicious) YUM!! , they even have homemade jelly , cost $17.99. Parking is tight but there is additional parking down the street, Will be back

Amazing food and amazing service!!! Big portions but even bigger smiles! Can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The environment and place is a gem :) servers are always so helpful! 10/10

I honestly picked the wrong thing with too many potatoes BUT I was able to see past it. This place is great. Reminds me of going to breakfast with my Dad. I enjoyed the old school aspect of this joint and has become our new go-to breakfast spot. The freshly squeezed OJ was amazing and so were the fruit jams. The service was great and very attentive!

French toast is fire! I really enjoyed the way they made it. Excited to go back soon.

My grandpa loves this place and so he took my bf and I to it while we were visiting. We got so much food and all were picture worthy and super tasty. Inside is very eclectic and homey ambiance wise- can definitely take a family of kids and feel right at home. The service was super sweet and my grandpa knew the wait staff pretty well which makes you feel even more at home. Will be back (:

Fruit in French toast was frozen (not fresh), this is the heart of California no reason for that. Huevos rancheros- everything tasted like it came from a can. Server asked if we would like a box for our barely touched food, I said no thank you, honestly we just didn't care for it. No response, dropped our check on the table and walked away.

We came here with friends and I'm glad we did. Food was delicious, food portions are very generous and service staff went above and beyond. Place was packed and we had to wait for a bit, but the wait was worth it.

This place needs a serious deep cleaning, dining area and likely the kitchen too. There are so many flies in the dining area which is concerning. The food used to be make up for the interior but it is getting harder and harder to ignore the shoddy condition of this restaurant.

Oh how they have fallen, this place use to be a really good breakfast spot. The food is not even average it's not even greasy spoon good anymore. There were tons of flies all over our table that was dirty to boot. The service wasn't much better with a server reaching over me while I was eating to take plates away from the table.

Absolutely amazing breakfast. Had an omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. Hash browns were nice and crisp. Cousin had home fries with his breakfast, the seasoning on them was amazing. Great service to boot. Cousin also commented that the linguica was the best he ever had.

Service - everyone was super friendly and attentive. 5 stars+ Location - downtown, super tight limjted parking but plenty in street lot 3 doors east with way more room. Inside - cute murals all over the walls and bathrooms. Only drawback is the filthy ceiling tiles and nasty can lights (not working) and semi-working fluorescent lights. Distracts from the rest of the space. Table and booths are large with plastic dividers from Covid days that add privacy. Rubber tableclothes are interesting, clean. Meals - diner taste and quantity. Omelettes very good, hash browns perfect. Biscuits awesome and huge. Home fries are home-made, tasty but seem to have soaked up some oil? Look forward to trying other items like french toast and lunch menus.

I got the stuff French toast with peaches and it was beautifully done. Sweet & fresh all at once. Loveddddd the atmosphere, kid friendly! The staff was so sweet, everyone was! We'll definitely be back!

It's a nice little hole in the wall type place with that heavy American breakfast that will kill a hangover. It probably wouldn't hurt for the inside of the place to have a little bit of a makeover. But the staff is friendly, the food is filling, and I love sitting by the fireplace.

We stopped in at Granite Rock Grill to fuel up for breakfast before heading just down the street to the Quarry Park. We had a great experience from the service to the food and drinks. Most of our group had been here before but it was my first time. We ordered bloody marys and mimosas to start along with coffee. The bloody mary was large and came with bacon - yum! The mimosas all came in these wine glasses with funny or cute little sayings on them. I tried my fiance's country fried steak and I ordered the huevos rancheros. Both of our dishes were large and in charge and really good. I'd recommend stopping in for breakfast or brunch - the portions are huge and the food is delicious!

I went back to Granite Rock Grill to give their food a second chance. I felt like this cute little breakfast place was too good to pass up and I was right! Well, I didn't go with that I had last time which is a favorite kind of dish I like trying (the cooder; biscuit with sausage patties, drowned in gravy) so I got Tom's 4 strips of bacon with over medium eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy on the side. My friend also got Tom's but with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, and white toast. When he ordered his bacon, he was very specific and didn't want crispy bacon. I guess he went with chewy & flexible bacon. They nailed it on both dishes. Hands down, I am a huge fan of a crispy exterior on hash browns. The biscuit came out warm and gravy on the side as I requested. Eggs cooked to a perfect over meduim and my bacon was a bit more crispy than I like, but still delicious. Next time, I'll be more specific, lol. Our server was Erin. She was fantastic I can't wait to come back

The food was ok, I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were cooked the way I requested, so that was nice. My husband had the chicken fried steak which was large and we split a cinnamon roll, it was tough around the outside, but the middle was pretty good. Service was fine and ambience was comfortable. We came here initially because we had gift certificates in my husband's wallet and were in the area. The gift certificates were old, granted, but they wouldn't take them because the owner has changed in the meantime. The name of the place is the same and its in the same place, my husband, as a business owner himself, said when you buy a business you buy the assets and the liabilities, and wanting to benefit from the previous owner's decisions while not honoring the name shows a lack of integrity. Also, he would have accepted the gift certificates because it could be a future customer, and the $50 in the grand scheme of things is not a ton of money. So, while the food and service were fine, we probably won't be in a hurry to come back or send others, whereas, had they honored our gift certificates, we'd probably be singing their praises despite the fact that the food was just ok. So, 1 star for integrity, 3 stars for the food and 4 stars for the service.

I have become a regular at Granite Rock Grille for breakfast, and it is truly an exceptional experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly staff made me feel right at home. The portion sizes are generous. I also loved the attention to detail in the service, our server was attentive without being overbearing, and the food arrived quickly. I would highly recommend.

Great country restaurant! Breakfast was delicious! Rebecca served us well! Very attentive but not pushy. They have a large seating area that was about 3/4 filled. They let us visit our visiting family refilling water and coffee. You will be pleased to eat her! Try it!

Why change a good thing this place used to have the best biscuits in town, and they changed the recipe!! We have been coming here for more than 5 years because of the fluffy yummy biscuits, and they no longer have them. That's what set this place apart for us. I'm super disappointed...

This place is super cool. As described in other reviews it kind of rocks a 70's/80's vibe. I was in the neighbourhood, looked at Yelp reviews, and decided to give Granite Rock a try. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, so get there early if you want to get in before they close. I ordered the pastie. It's kind of a rarity to see it on a menu in this area, so I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try. It's a little different. The beef, potatoes, etc. are basically a dry seasoned concoction that is folded between pie crust and baked to order, so it takes an extra 20 minutes or so. Brown gravy is served on the side. It comes at a cost of $15.99, I think. It's pretty good, but definitely not exactly what I was expecting. The waffles, hash browns, and biscuits all looked scrumptious, so I plan to return with my family some time in the near future. You should give 'em a try if you're in the area.

We went on a Tuesday. The only day they serve the Taco Salad. Three of us ordered and we all enjoyed them. Service was great. The ambiance is a lot of USA stuff. Flags all over and on the food. I don't get it but to each his own. I'm a combat vet and don't get the red white and blue decor. But to each their own. Good food

Maybe we ordered the wrong items beca I didn't find our meal worthy of returning. The corned beef sandwich on rye for instance; the rye was wet from not draining the sauerkraut enough, the sauerkraut was plentiful and way too hot instead of room temperature, and they were stingy with the corned beef which was very dried out. on a positive note, the thousand island was very good as was the macaroni salad. The Country Benedict was served with too little gravy to eat the other half of the biscuit. The breakfast was good other than that. Service was great!

Paid $50 for breakfast then had to hunt down forks and napkins. They can't give them by law. Weird...

The first time I came to Granite Rock Grill was more than 5 years ago and after that experience I vowed never to return. Fast forward today and I accidentally went to Granite Rock Grill...arghhh! I ordered the biscuit and gravy and a pancake. The biscuit was large. It was so dry that you could choke on it. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and it was horrible. It was oily and my husband threw up after eating it. The potatoes were burnt. Will I come here again? Definitely no

The food was great (we had breakfast). I had the fried chicken and waffles and the chicken was perfect- the crust stayed on the chicken in between bites and the waffle was crispy outside and soft inside. the service was good and they displayed a level of appreciation and individual attention that I see missing now-a-days and made me feel good about spending my money there. The environment was very clean and spacious and welcoming. I will go back again as this was my first time and the key is consistency- so I really hope is great the second time.

We stumbled upon this place on Yelp as we were still in search for a great breakfast spot near our hometown. And boy, did Yelpers get this one right! The place is big inside and always busy. Plenty to select from off the menu...come hungry but not starving or ya might order more than you can chew. We have only had breakfast and must say, the pancakes still make my mouth water just thinking about them. I don't recall ever enjoying pancakes that much. But these were fluffy, made from scratch, flavorful and moist. It melts in your mouth like butter! If you do come hungry, I recommend going big and taking the rest home to eat for dinner or breakfast the next day. It's just as good! Oh and the coffee is strong and tasty just the way I like it!

My friend and I had breakfast there on St. Patrick's Day. The weight staff and the hostess were warm and friendly. We got seated immediately. We got our drinks really fast and it was very festive on top of that. I ordered the French toast meal. I think it was Hannah's. They came with two eggs, two bacon and a half an order of French toast and it was really good now my French toast I think what made it so good was that when they fried it there was enough oil on the grill that made it a little crispy, so that made yummy for me. My friend had two eggs bacon and a waffle and she said it was good. Our coffee cups were filled continuously. They never got past half a cup. It was a bit on the pricey side, though I would definitely go back.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast yesterday. Great food, large portions! We both had omelets that were very good. Home fried potatoes well seasoned, a lot of places seem to neglect that little detail but these potatoes were on point. The star of the breakfast was the amazing, HUGE, fluffy homemade biscuit that had just the right flavor and texture. You definitely don't want to pass on the biscuit! Restaurant is much larger inside than it appears from the road and I'd call the ambiance "country Americana." I'm giving it 4 stars only because the service could've been a little better. None of the employees we interacted with seemed to be very enthusiastic and coffee refills were slow. But overall, we were pleased and will try this place again.
