These are the Best donuts in Montana! It’s only open Friday through Sunday. Cash only ($1 donut or $10 for a dozen)place and there was a long line but it’s worth the wait. Granny was serving you the donuts and the shop owner was so friendly. He let us dip a donut in sprinkles. That was a great experience! I highly recommend any of the donuts but loved the orange cream. The donuts have a crunchy but soft texture. Really is the perfect donut!

Google
Tiny donut shop that features the softest donuts you can find! All cash, but at $1/donut or $10/dozen, it is so worth paying cash! All of this is topped off with top notch customer service and a cool kid experience for the littles!

Google
The best donuts I have ever had in my entire life!! I was visiting from Dallas tx so they gave me a free donut straight out of the oven, iced it in front of me and then let me dip it in a bowl of sprinkles! The entire experience was magical. Granny herself boxes up your donuts and there is a man behind the register who looks exactly like Santa. I want to move to Montana just so I can take everyone I know to Granny’s Donuts!

Absolutely delightful donuts. Homemade, bold flavors, and the sweetness is just right! I went 2 days in a row. I couldnt stop thinking about that maple pecan donut. Amazing prices too for freshly made. They are only open on the weekends and close when they sell out. Best donuts I've ever had by far!

3rd times the charm. The first time my husband and I drove to Granny's Donuts, we were hit with the reality that they only accept cash. Unfortunately, neither of us really use cash and there were no near by ATM's so we just turned around and left. On the second occasion, I pulled up an hour and a half before the shop was supposed to close - cash in hand. I was met with the "Sorry, we are closed signs" on the doors and windows. It was such a bummer. I'm not sure why they closed early but I tried to look it up on their social media pages with no luck. It doesn't look like they utilize it often. This time around, I made sure I had cash and woke up early! I got there around 10am and originally had to wait outside. The line moves fairly quickly but the inside is pretty small so you have to maneuver around a bit. The donuts were good and you can't beat the price. The Bismarck donuts were my favorite. A family behind me had a child and the team let her make her own special sprinkled donut - that was super cute and a fun experience for kids! I can't say these are the best donuts I've ever had but they're definitely at the top of the list in the area. Getting here is about a 40-minute round trip from home so I'll likely only be back when I'm in the area & have access to cash.

Google
Take it from a self proclaimed donut aficionado... Granny's are amazing! However, there are two rules you must follow if you want some: Show up early (if you don't want to stand in line for an hour, or be the one that is told, "sorry, we're out of donuts" ) Bring cash (only form of payment accepted) The coffee cream is to die for... The orange cream is amazing, as is the pecan maple bar. They're all good, but those are my favs They are only open Fri-Sun at 7am....

If a vomit face was an option instead of a star id give them four. I was hopeful with a long line and fresh donuts coming out it makes you think that the donuts are going to be amazing, but I’ve had garbage that tasted better than this. This is the worst place to get donuts. Stay clear of this place. I don’t care if you’re a local or just passing by stay clear it is no good at all the 1st bite was so disgusting I couldn’t bare to take another bite. do yourself a favor save your money and go eat the garbage outside on the ground. It taste better.

Food: donuts were pretty good. Taste homemade for sure. Service: Super friendly and personable!! Atmosphere: A cute location with a very local vibe!

Yelp
Easily my favorite donut shop I've been too. Great place, people, price, and most importantly donuts. Upon arrival, the smell of fresh donuts was prominent and fantastic. It's a small shop, but very pleasant. The staff was super friendly and the owner interacted with every customer in the quick moving line. He gave each child the chance to dip a free vanilla frosted donut in sprinkles for them to have, which was neat. As for the donuts themselves, I highly recommend the Maple Bar and Strawberry Bismarck. The Strawberry Bismarck had a sweet dollop of strawberry jam and a sliced strawberry on top, complimenting the vanilla glazed Bismarck wonderfully. The Cherry and Glazed Raised Donut were great as well. If you ever find yourself visiting Bozeman, it's worth the stop.

Yelp
Seriously the best stop ever. 100% Worth the drive off 90!!! What a selection of fresh donuts! Plus you can add your own rainbow sprinkles, to vanilla & chocolate topped. Would definitely come back. Oh and to top it off my daughter got the most amazing apron too!

Yelp
Stellar donuts, perfect glazed donut. Kids love "making their own" sprinkled donuts. Such a cool unique local spot. Love coming here on the weekends.

Yelp
Delicious donuts! Huge selection, friendly service and reasonable prices. They also serve coffee. Picnic tables outside.
google avatar

Yelp
Best donuts ever. Small service space and the line is right next to the tables, so best taken to go. Personal service. Cash only.

Yelp
If you love donuts, you'll love Granny's All the small town charm you could ever want backed by some of the most authentic, most delicious donuts you've ever eaten. Remember that they're only open mornings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (and they're cash only) but once you're inside you'll be deep in the heart of Bozemania and you'll always remember your visit. Especially memorable are the owners who greet everyone with warmth, sincerity, and a perfect sense of humor. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Amazing donuts and hands down the best apple fritter we've ever eaten. Everyone working there was super friendly and the line out the door moved really quickly. In short, lived up to all the hype and then some - would 100% return next time we're in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Good donuts and cheap too. Weird operating hours but u think it's worth it if you haven't tried.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
It's worth the drive. By far the best, cheapest, most unique donuts around. The place is tiny but always packed. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This is such a super cute and friendly donut shop!!! A must see and taste!!! Regardless of the line out side; this place was sooo quick and efficient especially with having the patrons do their sprinkles on their donuts!! They sure play the part of the name! The gentleman was so sweet asking where I was headed... took me by surprise... lol I said home... I technically don't live here, I'm a traveling medical staff for a short time.. thank you for being so sweet, kind and the delicious donuts!!! My brothers a local and it's his first time at granny's .. he loves them!
google avatar

Allison C.

Yelp
Only open on weekends, and the amount of times I've desperately wanted to get a donut from here during the week is too many to count. Donuts aren't super pretty or gourmet in that sense, but they are exactly what you want in a yeast donut - soft and pillowy and not saturated with grease. Workers are also very friendly and the guy working the register has asked me if it's my first time there the past few times I went - just say yes - you get a free donut that you get to sprinkle-ify yourself!
google avatar

Amber J.

Yelp
Best donuts in town! Locally owned, and smells like heaven when you walk in. Come early, wish everyone a good mornin', and get your box of donut perfection. I'm in love. You will be too.
google avatar

Erik C.

Yelp
Early morning stop was worth it! Planned to get a half dozen but that wasn't enough. The apple fritter, the cinnamon sugar, and the maple donuts were our favorites. Three cinnamon sugar was just made and was astonishingly good. Really enjoyed it and we'll be back!
google avatar

Jake 4.

Yelp
Get there early or you might miss out on some of the donuts! All of them are great options so I recommend getting a dozen, especially considering it's only $10 for 12 donuts. A cozy little store and an extremely nice staff that spend some time chatting with you while you wait in line! Would definitely recommend to anyone that's visiting or staying in Bozeman!

Local R.

Yelp
Such a cute, hole in the wall place! The staff is cute and friendly. I've even seen them give donuts away for free when folks didn't have cash. Kids get to put on their own sprinkles and adults get to indulge. Definitely a favorite

Yelp
Oh.my.gawd. There's something so, so wrong about donuts like this. One. Just one and you'll dream of them in your sleep and crave them almost every waking moment. The dilemma will be choosing only one. Because one is probably all you'll be able to handle before the rush of all-things-bad about a donut and the sin of it, catches up to you. But you won't stop with one because you'll be trapped by the taste memory of that wicked awful sugar/fat hell you've just experienced. Enjoy. It'll be worth every sinful bite.
google avatar

Yelp
Overall the donuts were good and pretty fresh. I was hoping they would have a cronut but it's all donuts. Not a very wide selection. This is a cash only place and it's a $1 a donut. Not a bad deal but I hardly carry cash anymore so I had to hit a ATM and come back. Line was out the door and seemed to be popular with the college students. If you have kids it's cool because they ask the kids if they want to make a donut. Of course the kids say yes. So they take a plain donut, spread some icing on it and then have the kids dip it into a plate of sprinkles. Here's the kicker, they charge you for that donut at check out without mentioning it prior. Not a big deal but a simple FYI would be nice.

Jerry S.

Yelp
Best donuts in town! Always enjoy stopping in! Price is right as well, one of the few places not taking advantage of the locals
google avatar

Jordan M.

Yelp
The best donuts! Locally owned and a very warm, homey atmosphere. They make you feel welcome and offered my little brother the chance to make his own donut which was incredibly sweet. I dream of this place!

Yelp
This was my first stop in Montana and it did not disappoint at all! We were walking around Montana University and saw it on a whim. I checked the review and was amazed at the high rating so I checked it out. I got there about 30 minutes before they close so unfortunately, they ran out of the 2 things I wanted: apple fritters and the coffee creme donut...I ended up getting the strawberry donuts, the orange creme, a regular cake donut, and a apple filling donuts. Even though they don't look like anything amazing, they were delicious!!!! My favorite was definitely the cake donut. It was so simple but the texture and flavor was spot on. My second favorite was the orange creme. This was recommended by the girl who helped me. I love the subtle crunch on the outside and inside was filled with orange cream. They also used zest on it so you definitely get a nice citrus taste. The best part??? It was $1/donut or $10/dozen!!!!! You can't get a gourmet donut in Washington for lest than $3 these days!!!!!! And these are comparable.

Yelp
I was visiting Bozeman for the first time this past weekend, and on one of the days I was there I woke up craving donuts. I googled local places and was excited to see how well reviewed this place was, so my friend and I quickly headed over to check this place out. We were there like 20 minutes before they closed, and they still had quite a few donuts, even for a Friday! I was very pleased to see how many fruit flavors they had, and we loaded up a box of strawberry and raspberry donuts. As soon as I took a bite I was in heaven! This is my new favorite donut place! The balance of just the right amount of sugar versus the bread was just so perfect. Anyone who gives this place less then 5 stars is either out of their minds or just plain lying, because this place deserves more then 5 stars!
google avatar

Jenn S.

Yelp
I do not think it is possible to love this place more than I already do! We visited one time and we are hooked! Granny's is on our list for every Bozeman trip. The donuts are fresh and the cake donuts are really unlike any others I have tried. The owner was there (I am told he always is) and it was so cute that all the little kids loved him. We giggled when one little one was leaving and waved at him and said "bye Granny!" It's definitely a local favorite and I am pretty sure I moaned while eating the orange cream warm cake donut!!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
I hope I don't sound conceited, but I have eaten many donuts from many different bakeries, so I know what a good donut tastes like, and what a magnificent one tastes like. So when I say these were some of the best donuts I've ever eaten, I am not exaggerating. I made it a mission to stop by here during a weekend in Bozeman. I had seen all the five star reviews, read all the raves, so I knew it had to be good. The second sign was upon pulling into the parking lot I could see the long line of customers that wrapped around the building. So there I was, mother's day weekend, freezing my ass off waiting for donuts because it's seriously the tiniest little shop. To be honest I wasn't too impressed at first when I saw how the donuts looked. They don't look all too special, but they taste out of this world good! The apple pie donut was really something else! I'm not sure if they make their own pie filling or if it's just the canned product but either way it was super good! There was glaze on it as well. It reminded me of Krispy Kreme, but homemade. The orange cream tasted awesome! They definitely hit it spot on with the orange flavor. It was really really good! The vanilla sprinkle reminded me of my favorite donut from my hometown that I'd get all the time. I can go on and on about this place but no word will give it justice. You HAVE to stop by here if you are ever in Bozeman. If there is one place in this small city you need to try, THIS IS IT!!!

Yelp
Holy crapola, these are some amazing donuts! I consider myself a bit of a donut connoisseur and will be honest and say that I was a bit skeptical when we arrived and the donuts had a sort of appearance of what you'd see at a grocery stores. BUT as soon as we walked in, the owner and other staff member were super friendly and greeted us with big ol' smiles on their faces and questions about our day, our time in Bozeman, and our home towns. They immediately made me feel at home and happy to be there. My friends and I decided to order 6 donuts of different flavors ranging from Orange zest, to maple glazed to sprinkles. As we were about to leave, the owner called my friend and I over (it was our first time visiting) and let us glaze and sprinkle our own donuts. I could see how much joy he got from this and I'm guessing he does this with most new guests. We ended up leaving with 8 donuts for a total of $6! How amazing is that? We went outside on their picnic tables to enjoy the donuts and holy moly, these are some damn good donuts. They are soft and flakey with a rich, yeasty flavor. The donuts themselves are quite mild and almost savory, yet the sweet glazes balance out the flavor. They were realllllllllly delicious! Before we left, the owner came outside with a large wooden donut, urging me to stick my head in it and take photos, which I definitely did! I think he was impressed that I came there wearing my favorite donut shirt AND my donut socks. Hah, Granny's donuts is the real deal. They know what's going on! Amazing.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
This is the best donut shop I have ever been to, I have patronized establishments from Washington to California, even Texas. The secret is to get them fresh from the oven, that's why there's such a line in the morning, sometimes even before they open up. Warm donuts that are soft and moist inside and crunchy on the outside. This is the best donuts I've ever had
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
This unique gem was just a walk from our daughter's apartment. We got there when they opened and there was a line of people waiting to get in. At only $1 a donut (no matter the flavor), I could see why. I tried the Donut of the Day: banana pudding filled donut which was yummy! The plain glazed and chocolate were good too!
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
Oh wow oh wow it can't get any better can it, Granny's always has a great atmosphere and quick service. Donuts always on point, but don't forget to look at the special.
google avatar

Yelp
Read reviews on Yelp so on a cold cold day we made our first visit to Granny's Gourmet Donut shop! Well worth our trip and we will be back for more donuts. We called before we went to Granny's donuts and whoever answered the phone was so friendly that we knew it would be worth the trip. The reviews said get there early because the donuts are best just out of the fryer and warm. We didn't get there early so some of the donuts were sold out. As soon as we arrived we were told that the staff could personalize a donut if they weren't available. Our daughter wanted a chocolate sprinkled donut so they customized two for her. We let them know it was our first trip to Granny's so the owner made me a personalized donut and I was able to add the sprinkles myself. The donuts we bought were cold so when we got home we put one in the air fryer for 3 minutes on 200 degrees. Made some hot tea and shared a hot donut with my guy. Delicious, soft, and warm! Because of the pandemic they are only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 until 1:00.
google avatar

Ruth M.

Yelp
Freshly made, deliciously satisfying doughnuts. My husband and I split all of these doughnuts thinking we'd have a few days worth and ended up eating about 3 each in one sitting. We couldn't help ourselves. Favorites: original and raspberry but the fritter was noteworthy. Run, don't walk to Granny's.
google avatar

Maddy M.

Yelp
Best donuts I've ever had. Very friendly people and super delicious donuts Highly recommend.

Yelp
This donut shop has been on my mind for the last year! We were visiting Bozeman from Indiana during the summer of 2019 and we were just blown away by the donuts and the kindness of the owner. We asked him which donuts were the best to try as we weren't from around there. He made his suggestions and then he invited me to make my own donut! I guess this is typically reserved for kids, but he took the amazing hot warm delicious donut, spread icing on it, then I had the honor of dunking it in sprinkles! Truly the best donut I've ever had and I'm not kidding when I say I haven't stopped talking about this place. If we're ever in Bozeman again, we will definitely be stopping here!

Craig S.

Yelp
The best donuts I have ever had. We stop whenever we are anywhere near Bozeman. Just remember to take cash and go for a dozen. You won't be sorry.
google avatar

K C.

Yelp
Really cheap for such amazing donuts! It was my birthday and Robert let me put sprinkles on a donut. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. The entire building is pretty and reminds me of my own grandmother. 10/10, definitely recommend!
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Granny's is the only 5 star rated donut shop I've ever seen probably because the donuts are made at the shop fresh every day unlike all the grocery stores and dunkin who have them shipped in. No pictures because you have to stop and taste the freshness
google avatar

Hayley E.

Yelp
Loved this place! My friend got the Apple fritter and said it was AMAZING! I got the coffee cream and vanilla sprinkle and both were so fresh. Robert was so friendly and gifted my friend an apron as a party favor. Definitely recommend coming here if you're in town driving to Yellowstone!
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
I have so many good things to say about Granny's. They have excellent donuts and as many have mentioned, anyone can sprinkle their own donut. My young daughter was thrilled to do this. When I first moved back to Montana, my coffee maker had not yet arrived, and the next morning I walked over to Granny's to buy a cup for myself and one for my wife. We didn't know that it was cash-only, and I didn't have any on me. The owner let me take the coffee and pay the next time I came in. Legendary. Another time, I had my heart set on a donut that they don't always have: a raised donut with lemon icing, topped with fresh blueberries. When I got there, they were out of blueberries. The owner offered that if I wanted to go get some blueberries and bring them back, he'd make me one. Absurdly amazing service.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
Delicious doesn't even begin to describe these donuts. I love donuts but don't eat them often (for the calories they better be so good they make me not care) but these were amazing. Soft, moist, melt in your mouth perfection! The gentleman at the register was so warm and welcoming which made this stop even better!
google avatar

McKenzie B.

Yelp
Popped in on a whim after church on Sunday. It doesn't look like much, but the donuts are amazing. It was really great seeing them frosted right in front of you, and getting to "sprinkle" it yourself was so fun and unique. My only complaint -- wish they weren't only open on weekends, as we were visiting from out of town and really wanted to come back the next day Owners were legitimately the kindest and friendliest people we had met in Montana so far. Best advice: get here early, they sell out quick!
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Delicious!! We will definitely be going back!! My girls had the best time putting sprinkles on their own donuts!
google avatar

Meg K.

Yelp
Amazing!! And super friendly employees who move quickly. Definitely worth the trip for absolutely delicious donuts
google avatar

Chase A.

Yelp
Delicious donuts! Helpful and kind staff! Would definitely recommend if you are near the downtown Bozeman area! We will be back!

Alex B.

Yelp
Delicious! All 5 of the donuts my girl friend and I had were phenomenal. And best thing... only $1 each. What a deal. Also, super friendly owners (:
google avatar

Len W.

Yelp
Old Bozeman! Thankfully still in business and offering same home-made great tasting quality donuts at a low price.

Arda A.

Yelp
I don't think a better donut exist. I moved out from Bozeman, I will miss this place
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Best doughnut in town! Worth the wait in line. Get there early and they might still have apple fritters.

Nibbles B.

Yelp
Pros: some of the best donuts I've ever had, donuts are super consistent, owners are almost always there and friendly, the prices are reasonable, parking is easy Cons: usually busy (expect to wait in line for 10-15 minutes), limited hours
google avatar

Bridger T.

Yelp
Love Granny's Donuts. Robert has perfected the donut. The service is fantastic. Beth is my all time favorite. The best donut shop in America!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
$1 donuts! Cash only! It looks like they offer about 6-10 different kinds of donuts. I tried the classic sprinkle. I love how they aren't the perfect O shape of donuts. The dough is soft and delicious! I wish I got more but self control is a hard thing to beat. A little inside seating and a little outside. I love shops like these.
