This is a charming, clean, and unique place to stay in Bloomington. My husband and I stayed here to try something different for my Bloomington birthday weekend--we wanted walking distance to Irish Lion and something nicer than the Fairfield Inn we'd stayed at last year. Grant Street Inn fit the bill. The location couldn't be more convenient, and the room we booked (a small suite--room 30) was nicely decorated and roomy. We peeked at some of the other rooms before we settled in, and they did look a bit smaller, so if you're used to more space and a big bathtub, get one of the small suites.
Breakfast was pretty good, too, with a lot of variety--a few hot casseroles, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, granola, potatoes, etc. I can't say it was better than Runcible Spoon, which is my favorite in Bloomington, but it was still a solid offering considering it was served buffet-style. Oh, and the dining room has individual tables so you don't have to sit with other guests if you don't want to. In the evenings they set out little shortbread cookies, fruit, and coffee in the lobby. We will be back next year for sure.
