I ordered the Wagyu burger and asked for medium well, but got well. After I ordered, another server told another table that if they wanted medium well, they should order medium. I was not informed of that. The food was delicious, and the servers were super friendly. I enjoyed my meal but the prices were a little high also. I understand that this is a restaurant in Yellowstone Park and travelers who are driving for hours don’t have many options, and this restaurant felt a little upper class to me, so I didn’t mind. $15 for a glass of wine and $24 for burger and fries for a total of $50 with tip for one person. Overall everything was good. The glasses were a little dirty.

Cara and all the staff were awesome! So friendly, made us feel relaxed after a crazy full day at Yellowstone! Fish and chips, burger, huckleberry sipper were all amazing. Huckleberry ice cream was perfect treat at the end (not pictured, ate that too fast).

This restaurant serves a wide range of dishes, and everything is so good! We ate Tuna Tataki, Steamed Mussels, Roasted Tomato & Basil Soup, Skuna Bay Salmon, Chicken Curry and Linguine with Smoked Tomato Sauce. We found seafood dishes are especially delicious, which are must-try. Also, all restaurant staff are friendly and welcome. Specifically, thanks to Genesis's great service, I and my wife spent a wonderful time.

Food was good, but pricey. View was a highlight. Pretty loud, hard to hear each other at a large table. Reservations required.

We reserved a table for six at 9:30 PM on a Saturday night in mid September! But the host lady was able gave us a table around 7:30 which we were highly appreciated. Two stars are for this. One more star for the view at the deck outside. The selection for meals are limited. Not recommending for Fish and chips or beef and chips, they were over seasoned! But the bison burger are highly recommend, it was juicy and tasty! No the $16.99 breakfast buffet are total disaster, a choice, in selection of poor, and not not very well prepared. The $18.99 breakfast buffet at lake hotel dining room how much better.

We had a wonderful experience all around. The hosts were able to get us in before our reservation and the service was also pretty speedy. The dining room was very well kept and clean, and I really enjoyed the trout dish the server recommended. And a special thanks to Dusk at the bar for being so attentive and making one of the best lemon drops I’ve had in quite a while.

We were staying at the Grant Village lodge so we did dine here a a total of 4 times during our stay. The service is very slow because of less staff so you will have to factor in extra time for everything, the server coming to your table, the order, the food coming out, the check, everything. We were there for breakfast for 2 days and opted for the buffet so that we can quickly finish up and leave. We were there by 6.45am on both days and the restaurant was not that crowded at that time. If you are ordering from al la carte and are in a rush in the morning, you can get late. For dinner, we had reservations so we got a table as soon as we reached. I would recommend having reservations. The menu is limited. We had the soup, tofu & chips, fish and chips, ravioli in the 2 times we had dinner there. I would definitely say to skip the ravioli. The restaurant comes with a beautiful view of the lake and you can go on the deck as well.

Jill and Aaliyah were phenomenal. They made my experience at Grant Village great! I will definitely be back here and I highly recommend it to everyone. The kitchen cooked wonderful food and made it promptly. I also interacted with a few other servers, one being Gabe, who was an absolute sweetheart. Thank you for giving me a great experience here!

Yelp
OMG. How does the U.S. Government/National Park Service give a 15 year concession agreement to this Xanterra group when the food is uniformly bad across the entire park. The most visited national park in the WORLD! Who got paid off for this crime against the people of the U.S. and visitors from around the world. Shame on whichever politician or government agency gave Xanterra the contract ( and bribes I'm sure) to do this. And in most of the restaurants the service is terrible and not organized for the amount of people visiting the park. It is mostly very young college kids running the places so that may be the problem. Also a LOT of Eastern Europeans who barely speak any English and mess up descriptions and orders. Maybe not much to be done about this because so many people are needed to run things, but the food quality is something you can fix. I can tell you the Wolfgang puck catering organization would have delivered far better food quality! Ate in many of the restaurants and "grills" in the park. This one had some items that sounded decent at higher prices for lunch. But the service and kitchen were so screwed up, we ordered before 4 other tables did and they all got their food first. We were at the 35 minute mark from ordering and decided to get up and leave. Never have done that in my entire life. Was just so frustrated with things and figured the food was gonna be cold or just another terrible meal. Hopefully one of the I'm sure very underpaid staff got to take our two meals home or eat them. The best thing I ate in an entire week of food at the park was the bison brat at the general store at Mammoth Springs. But even that was supposed to be on a better bigger French roll and came on the regular hot dog bun. Jeez. So if you are used to eating good food or if you are more of a foodie, on your vacation to Yellowstone, you better lower your expectations to the depths of hell. You are in fact at the place where the lowest depths of the earth bubble to the surface more than anywhere else on the planet! Only good news is it was the first vacation in my life where I came back not gaining any weight! Shame on Xanterra. Look them up online. Employees say they are grossly underpaid and treated and fed, and MANY people like me complain of the horrible food. I'm sure when the government went out to bid a concession contract for 15 years, these guys were the ones who paid the most for it which means they had to cut quality and service to make money and Im sure some political donations took place to get the award.

Yelp
Don't come here for breakfast buffet at all!!! The food is terrible, but the people at the front desk are really terrible. We visited Yellowstone for a family trip and went to a restaurant and had a breakfast buffet on 8/28/2024. When we entered the restaurant, two wait-staff or hosts(anyway two women) glimpsed us and didn't guide us, and they chatting with a one customer. We stood and waited for more than 10 minutes and when we asked how much longer we had to wait or go into the restaurant and then finally stopped the chatting. I was so offended by their attitude and nearly ruined my schedule. They are not the kind of people who have the mindset to work in a restaurant.

Yelp
We were late by 15 mins due to the weather. Thankfully the ladies at the front had a sense of humor and were still able to get us seated in a packed restaurant as soon as we arrived. Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins have to wait a while especially if there's bad weather. The restaurant was brightly lit and looked great. Our waitress, Anne, was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. We ordered a couple cups of warm water and she actually remembered to bring it to us! We ordered mussels, 3 cups of clam chowder, wagyu burger, and chicken curry. Almost all of the food was delicious! The clam chowders came out first. They were very flavorful, full of umami, and filled with plenty of dried shrimp and clam chunks. The mussels were sprinkled with beef chunks, diced tomatoes, garlic, and other spices. The bread that came with the mussels was super hard but I softened it up by dipping it in the butter sauce. The wagyu burger was juicy and fries were crispy. The arugula on the burger gave it a special extra flavor. The curry was a miss. It had crunchy rice with a sour Thai style coconut based curry. I think the curry is supposed to be sweet and spicy. Overall, Grant Village Dining Room proves that you can have great scenery, spectacular ambiance, pretty damn good food, and 5-star service in a national park.

Yelp
Be aware that this restaurant is reservation only although there were plenty of open tables on our first night here at the park. The menu is limited and is not bad. The service is meh as everyone working is seasonal with no hospitality experience. Our waitress could have used more training as she wasn't attentive at all. I had the mussels which was made in a white wine style with tomatoes and ham of all things! As crazy as it sounded, the smokiness from the ham wasn't bad. The mussels were clean and quite large. The rest of the table enjoyed their meal of skirt steak, trout and a bison burger for the most part. It was just the waitress who kept forgetting things like the catsup we asked for. We just weren't impressed. I'm mediocre on this place so we cancelled our second reservation here later in the week. Pretty much downhill from here at all the restaurants in the park.

Yelp
Excellent food and decent service. They have a very limited and focused menu. Fish is a specialty, though they do have burgers and salads if you aren't a fish person. I had pan seared local trout, and it was excellent and perfectly cooked. My wife had the fish and chips, which was also good and was a huge portion. Kids menu is VERY limited and restricted to under 11, and there's not a whole lot on the regular menu that tweens and teens are going to be excited about. Kind of small dining room, and it gets busy, so reservations are recommended at dinner time.

Teresa C.

Yelp
I was looking forward to a fine dining experience. What I received was one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory. Seated overlooking Lake Yellowstone: my one star. Waiter was indifferent, music was too loud, food consisted of two fillets of trout over what seemed like tomato basil soup with a couple of pieces of artichoke swimming in it. For $31! I ate because I was hungry (and still was when I left). Go to Yellowstone for nature, not food!

Yelp
Our family of 4 adults stopped by for a sit-down dinner at the end of August. We didn't order any alcohol (they seemed to have a pretty good selection of wine/beer), but focused on ordering a variety off of a pretty focused menu. There is a large window overlooking Lake Yellowstone, so the ambience was good. In summary, the ingredients and preparation were good in most cases and very good in one case. You can see the prices in the attached menu. If you consider where you are getting this meal, I think the prices are reasonable. We had the Prime Rib Sliders (OK), Hummus (Very good...the hummus was tangy and creamy, and the pita bread was indeed freshly grilled), Caesar Salad (average with no anchovy), Soup of the Day (some sort of vegetarian kale, Quinoa which was OK). The Prime Rib Au Jus was a large thick piece, rare. The bison burger and fries was ordered medium well (came out well), which can be expected...next time we would order it medium. The fries were crispy and hot. We had two orders of the Char (each order had 2 medium filets), and it was well cooked (moist), and the succotash added the necessary acidic balance. Very enjoyable. The servers were trying their best to keep up, and the food was the right temperature when served (I hate it when the food is brought together all at once and some of them are cold, indicating bad coordination of when to complete dishes by the kitchen or servers not bringing it out fast enough). Our food came out at a reasonable time after placing the order. One nit-pick was that our water glasses were not kept full much (it will refilled once). The still water at Yellowstone is quite good, so maybe having self-service water pitchers at each table could help alleviate this concern)

Yelp
Best park meal we had, hands down (2023). Our Grant Village lodging was unbelievably cramped and uncomfortable, but it was almost worth it to dine at the dining room. In contrast, the dining room had high ceilings, warm wood colors, and a nice lake view of the West Thumb. Reservations are required for this season so make sure you book in advance as much as possible. Our server, Christina, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I recall one drink getting delayed but she was quick to remediate. The menu this season is a "Fish House," with a number of seafood options as well as a bison burger, flank steak, and fried tofu alternatives. We had: - Fish & Chips ($24): One large fried cod fillet on a bed of fries, with a side of pickled slaw. The cod was hot, flaky, and delicious. I would have preferred three smaller pieces, as a large filet is unwieldy and creates a steam blanket that makes the fries soggy, quickly. The fries were crisp for a bit, and quite tasty to boot. The tartar offered a slight dill kick as a perfectly creamy accompaniment. The slaw tasted off, maybe too vinegary, I didn't care for it at all. - Tofu & Chips ($22): Four pieces of bland tofu over a bed of fries. Tofu is so mild, it needs to be confidently seasoned. Avocado crema dipping sauce was flavorful and saves the dish. The smashed peas side comes very cold, which just wasn't too tasty and might have been better warm or in a soup. Unfortunately can't recommend this dish. - Huckleberry Cream Ale ($5.75): Arguably the best beer I had this trip. Perfect blend of sweet and creamy, with the regional huckleberry charm. Served in a can but completely worth it. Our friends had the Bison Burger and the Steak & Chips, both of which they praised highly. I tasted the flank steak with chimichurri, it was definitely worth the premium. We also stopped by for a breakfast, which is a small walk-in buffet for $16.25 per person. From what I can recall, there was cereal and milk, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast, waffles, biscuits, gravy, and a tortilla bar, complete with cheese, sour cream, and tomatoes. Excellent value for a park breakfast if you're feeling hungry. Coffee and juice included. Good food and service at expected park prices, would recommend if you're in the area or decide to stay at Grant Village. Spades more enjoyable than the cafeterias we endured.

Yelp
Be prepared to WAIT, even if you made a reservation. I made a reservation at 8:30pm expecting to be seated immediately, but it took over 30 minutes before my name was called and I was finally seated. The waiter talked me into some of the more "expensive" items on the menu. It didn't matter as much because I wanted the beef and chips anyway. The steak was served with chimichurri like sauce and was very tasty, but the smoked trout dip was a little too salty for me.

Amelia W.

Yelp
Horrible, food is barely edible and there is almost no where else to eat on that side of the park minus the gas station. The other options aren't great either even if you drive to another part of the park. Long story short: BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!

Courtney D.

Yelp
Hostess was horrible. She should not be working there. We got no help once we were seated by the angry hostess. I had to go and ask one of several waitresses if we could get up and go to buffet. One person said yes. Then there was one plate. Had to ask another person for more plates. Then we were never told anything, the price, where to put our plates, etc and we found out after asking again if it included coffee and it did so she gave us coffee to go after the meal. For $20 a person, it was definite worth it, but the service was the pits.

Michelle S.

Yelp
If you want to spend a lot of money on food that isn't good, come here. Clam chowder was watery, French fries were dried out, beer was flat, chicken sandwich wasn't good. The menu is very limited. There's also a lot of tables packed into one open dining room so it's a tight fit in between tables.

Karen G.

Yelp
We had a memorable dining experience with a beautiful view of Yellowstone Lake. The rustic interior was bright and airy with big picture windows. Because we dined here during the off-season, we were seated promptly for a week day lunch. Our server, Erik, was personable, friendly, and efficient. He checked on us regularly and offered insights on diners' favorite dishes. We were hoping to try the lake trout, but discovered it was only offered for dinner. So we ordered the trout dip with grilled toast points, tomato-basil soup, and beef burgers. Everything was delicious, although the burgers were a bit lean. Erik brought us extra toast points for the dip and extra homemade pickles for the burgers. Both of which were exceptional. The beer and wine selection was good and reasonably priced. As a tourist destination, we were very comfortable in our t-shirts and jeans in this nicely appointed restaurant. If you're visiting during off-season, treat yourself to a relaxing dine-in meal at this great location.

Dakota Darling W.

Yelp
Overpriced and so-so food. I understand that everything prepared in the park has to be imported INTO the park, so I'm guessing that's partly why everything is so pricy- but the quality of food was so-so and the quantity was inconsistent; either too much or too little. (See pictures) The service was good though. A lot of college students working there. I felt bad for them, lol. The park is a ZOO with people this year. My favorite thing about the whole meal was the Huckleberry Cream Pale Ale.

Georgia W.

Yelp
BAD MANAGEMENT!!! If you're coming to Yellowstone, be aware that very few restaurants are even open. The sign on the door to this one said Dinner starting at 5pm. So we waited over an hour thinking we would have a sit-down meal. Boy were we wrong as were at least 30 other people! A manager came over from the hotel and unlocked the door. We were one of the first there at opening after waiting....only to find out you have to have a reservation! How do you make a reservation in a park with little to no cell service?! The manager's response was he had 300 hotel guests coming. I could see the reservation page. Most of the reservations were crossed off! The whole place was empty and he was turning away about 50 people willing to eat now! The perception I got was unless you were a hotel guest in his hotel you were on your own. I have no idea if the food was even decent but with thus treatment they aren't getting any of my patronage! Seems to be the attitude all over the Park. Pitiful.

Yelp
My elderly parents came to this restaurant around 6:30pm on August 30 for dinner. (They were part of a big group bus tour, so they were left on their own to find their own dinner that was walking distance.) When they walked in they asked for a table for 4. The female host was very rude and told them they had to until 9:30 for dinner. She had no sympathy for my parents as they had to walk quite a distance to the restaurant from the hotel, and were extremely hungry and exhausted. Fortunately, Wyatt the other host was very thoughtful and helped my parents out for a table with only an 1 hour wait vs the 3 hours wait the female hostess quoted my parents. THANK YOU WYATT for being a considerate. The female hostess should learn from your apathetic personality.

Jamie L.

Yelp
God don't listen to these uppity reviews. You're in a national park in the middle of 2million acres of forrest...this isn't a Michelin star restaurant. THAT BEING SAID-- we loved it! The menu is updated since 2022 season, it's now considered a 'fish house'. Unfortunately my partner and I don't eat seafood so we can't rate that. The bison burger (cooked medium) was perfectly cooked and delicious. The skirt steak was shockingly tender and had great flavor. The lava cake dessert with huckleberry ice cream was the icing on top!! Get yourself a reservation if you're staying in Grant Village and enjoy!!

Lance M.

Yelp
Lovely location, nice views, friendly server. Bison burger @ $18 was a disappointment. So overcooked. It came with a huckleberry onion jam but the charred burger hid the flavor. Other beyond burger and regular burger came with zero veggies even though they claimed they do on their menu. Only game in town so if you want a sit down restaurant, this is it.

William R.

Yelp
Expected Lake House to be open and it was closed early for no excuse. Lifetime trip and missed opportunity that will never happen.

Ajay V.

Yelp
I stayed at South entrance when at Yellowstone. The menu here is same as what you will see at Snow Lodge. But the food quality and taste is so so so so so much better at Snow Lodge. Since I'm vegetarian, the menu was limited for me. So I ordered the same dish at both dining places. The same dish came with Pesto at Snow Lodge but grant village guys didn't serve me. When I asked they told me they haven't seen pesto in 3 months Travel that additional 30-45 mins but go snow lodge dining. It's First come first serve there. Others need reservations.

Akash K.

Yelp
It must be the Yellowstone hotel monopoly that allows such a poor restaurant to serve throngs of people and have the gaul to charge so much. The food quality at this restaurant is below the chain dinner restaurants like Big Bear, Furrs, and Luby's, which is already ridiculously low. We got a pasta dish and a local trout, and both were basically inedible. The trout was well seared, but the fish itself was bitter and the accompanying vegetables were boiled and unseasoned. The pasta has sauce that looked like vomit; seriously little chunks of vegetables in this gritty garlic sauce. Even the view didn't make up for much because we were seated close to the entrance so there were ten tables between us and the big windows.

Rachel C.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL!!!! Disgusting service for breakfast - came at 9:30am and they only have one small buffet area and they didn't fill up the empty trays(like eggs) at all. Have to ask them to fill up milk and they slowly move their ass to do it. If you ran out of food then don't seat people to rip them off. Also, our server(a guy with beard) didn't come at all until we ask for our missing utensils and water cup. There were plenty of tables available but seated 5 of us with a smaller table next to a pillar which is not comfortable and not close to the lake. We asked and they said that's the only table available which is bs. At the end, when we were asking for our check the guy is busy chatting with another table for at least 15 minutes until we walked over and ask. Very unprofessional, lack of service, food is bad and not much options - We are all still hungry at the end for 16$ buffet. (Only got one plate of bacon, French toast, tater tots, and cereal) I had worked as server for more than 5 years before and they don't deserve any tips.

mary s.

Yelp
Awful! Reservation required. Make sure you make it within your time. This is the only place to eat around Grant Village. There are better places to eat and stay at. Skip this place

Amelia S.

Yelp
Pretty basic fare but the bison bratwurst with apple sauerkraut was really tasty! It's nice that they have gluten free options. Also a spectacular view of the lake from the dining room.

Isabelle L.

Yelp
We had breakfast buffet everyday at this place. Lovely lake view. A good variety of food selection and drinks: try their orange spices hot tea, you'll be surprised by the presentation. I love their home fries (stir fried instead of deep fried), slightly salted. Love the French toast. Breakfast menu is exactly the same pretty much everywhere in the park.

Joe P.

Yelp
This adequate, if overpriced, lakeside dining room at Yellowstone's Grant Village has wonderful views, friendly service and decent food. On a recent visit, my family enjoyed a solid meal of Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Baked Red Bird Chicken and Maple-Pecan Salad. None of the entrees were particularly memorable, but they weren't bad, either. The chocolate Caldera torte we shared for dessert was also pretty good. The wine and craft beer selection was better than I expected, and there's a tiny lounge off the main entrance where you can grab a drink while waiting for a table. All told, a decent place to grab a meal in America's most spectacular national park.

Fred B.

Yelp
Only restaurant in Grant Village. You need reservations for dinner.Good food and service.

Jie S.

Yelp
My family really liked this place. We enjoyed the dinner here then came back for the breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly. Took off one start due to the food. The lake view was pretty during the dinner time or in the morning. This restaurant is such a contract to the Grant village dark rooms. Prime rib sliders was not even average. The mussels with pretty good. I really liked my breakfast - Hiker's choice which became my breakfast and lunch. My daughter really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Our waitress Melanie was really nice and professiaonal. The hostess was wonderful as well.

Nat F.

Yelp
Let me be clear... you are a CAPTIVE AUDIENCE. Reading the review from Melita M written on 8/8/17 left me feeling as though we were sharing the lousy experience in parallel as I sat to write this review. This morning we started with breakfast at which my daughter and I chose the buffet at the same time my wife ordered off the menu, a quick glance around confirmed the restaurant was at 25% occupancy. After serving ourselves at the buffet, going back for seconds, enjoying a refill of coffee, going out on the deck to take pictures of the lake and going back inside to see if my wife and been served (which she hadn't) the server told us "we only haven two burners in the kitchen, sorry." My wife's food arrived 32 minutes later, the hikers breakfast (poached eggs, potatoes, ham and toast). Starving and at the mercy of the only available reservation (8 pm), we went back for dinner tonight. We were promptly greeted by a friendly young man, Sam after being seated and he delivered our drinks in a timely fashion, but that's where the service stopped. Our meals took nearly 60+ minutes to be delivered, were luke warm, bland and with no follow up from our server or other wait staff. We left hungry, disappointed and sad that our amazing day in the park culminated with an experience on par with "a cafeteria at a decent liberal arts college, but with wait service", quoting Melia M. Our recommendation? Stick with pre-made sandwiches and other items easily purchased from the market, visit either dining room ONLY for drinks at sunset.

Yelp
Was visiting Yellowstone with a few friends. We decided to go out to eat one of the nights. We ended up going to this place because we had no service and it was close to our campsite. Oh boy, I wish we would have just gone to the grocery store and picked up some burgers to make at camp. All the food was... Horrible. I'm not one to do bad reviews... But I thought I'd at least try to save a few of you. I had ordered the mussels and calamari. I felt like they had just poured a bottle of white wine over a bowl of mussels. Most of them were even closed! The calamari was meh. I've definitely had better. One of my friends had ordered the chicken spinach ravioli... It was watered down sauce with ravioli you could have bought from Walmart. The other two had the business burgers. Which weren't too bad. The bread just overpowered the bison. There wasn't too much taste to it either. Their ranch is also watered down.

Danyang Y.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I both think this meal is the worst we had during our 20 days travel around the U.S. The staff are really nice and the place looks good too. But their food is awful... My boyfriend had a burger, he hates the meat in it and said the chips is the worst he ever had. I ordered chicken salad wrap, it's just bad, the source tastes disgusting....

Kaylin O.

Yelp
Let me sum this review up and say don't ever come here in your life! I ordered the chicken nuggets off of the menu and the lady who took my order (Val) explained that the chicken nuggets were chicken breast and sliced. I double checked that they were breaded and Val said yes. Thank you Val for being so kind! So my family and I went to sit down and we waited for our order. There was an amazingly kind lady named JoAnn. She told us all about how she works there over summer because she is in a program where elderly people work for two months part time over summer!! And her husband happens to be the cook too! She enjoys the program becuase she loves Yellowstone and the restaurant too. She always found a way to help us and I want to give JoAnn a huge thanks for being so kind! When our number was called, a different lady (Joy) walked a couple feet toward us as our food was in her hands. As my mom was walking toward Joy, Joy kept walking. She thought that the waiter would take the meals to the table since she kept walking. Then my mom decided to walk back to the table. Then Joy turned around and told the lady behind her, "This lady thinks I'm going to carry her food!" She was incredibly rude. But she did more than just that! We got out our food and started to eat, but I just then realized that I got unbreaded chicken breast cut in slices (see picture below). So I went to talk to Joy. She said that that's how they make chicken there and I said that I said I'll try it and order something else if I don't like it. And she said ok in a peppy voice. I went back to my table and noticed my friend's side salad that came with her grilled cheese wasn't even a salad (see picture below). It was more like a couple pieces of lettuce rather than a salad. Although, some of the other items on the menu were adequate, I will not be returning to this restaurant becuase of the bad attitude and the poor quality of the food.

Jay N.

Yelp
Very good little bar instead of the grant village dining restaurant in Yellowstone park our bartender Noah kept the drinks flowing, better than average bar food ;wings, prime rib sliders and bison sausage

Justin L.

Yelp
After a couple of days with home made sandwiches and energy bars, was really anticipating a great dinner at the restaurant, given the holiday brochure recommending it, and having to make advance reservations. We were disappointed. Even with the spread on the menu, what was delivered was kind of like airplane food :( We shared a chicken pasta which was kind of blend in my opinion; a zucchini spaghettini which of interesting; & a bison and elk meatloaf which is the beat of the lot. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Manage your expectations and you might be in for a better experience!

Nipun S.

Yelp
Location is the best thing about this place and was one of the biggest reasons we went there. Of course the fact that it was still open partially late was the biggest contributor. The beginning of our experience was good. The food tasted fine and I actually like the hummus that my friend had ordered. I was having a bison burger, if I remember correctly. We were all fine with it till then and I was surprised to find such a place in the wilderness, I would have given it 3.5 stars or even think about 4 stars. But then things changed. First there was a mistake on our bill, when we were few of the last people left in the restaurant. Then we actually saw small rats running around our table in the restaurant. I like wildlife, but not rodent wildlife where the food is being cooked. So, I gave it only 2 stars here.

Yelp
I was highly impressed by the service offered by Aron. He was really good and understood our food accommodations. Food was decent but he made our dining experience wonderful!

Yelp
I had dinner at the Grant Village Dining Room during a family trip to Yellowstone in the summer of 2008. Dad picked this place as it had a nice view of Yellowstone Lake, and that it was located conveniently close to our hotel. Let me begin by saying nothing in the park is cheap. However, this place seemed especially expensive; our dinner cost a total of over $70 for the three of us, and that's going by 2008 prices. The menu selection was fairly limited with each non-appetizer category having only a few items. The servings were also particularly small, making it even harder to justify the price. But despite what other reviewers have said, the food wasn't bad at all. I actually found everything to be pretty delicious - although it did feel a bit odd to be eating a bison meatloaf at Yellowstone. Pricing and limited menus aside, I don't really have any complaints about this place. -- TL;DR version -- Highs: Everything we ordered was delicious; great view of Yellowstone Lake Lows: Limited menu selection; the food here is very expensive Bottom line: This place isn't bad as far as national park dining goes, but a larger variety of food would have been nice. Final verdict: 3.6 stars (rounded up to four)

Yelp
Options are pretty limited in the park but I would avoid this place if possible. I had the spinach ravioli, breaking a cardinal rule I normally live by not to eat pasta in non-Italian restaurants. I was expecting it to be pretty basic supermarket fare. Instead it was swimming in a super garlicky sauce and lots of random vegetables which didn't really go with it. My husband had the trout which I thought was decent enough but he wasn't a fan. Service was friendly and the view of the lake is lovely.

Yelp
Had the breakfast buffet and the dinner here. It was alright. The place tries to be fancy but the food just doesn't seem really great. The breakfast was fine but the dinner was really disappointing. The bison steak was really dry and flavorless.. Service was great during both breakfast and dinner.

Yelp
I knew going into it this place was going to be over rated due to the location, but It still managed to under achieve. I ordered the Prime Rib, which was actually cooked properly, but was as tough a sirloin steak. The rest of my party ordered pasta, wings, and shrimp pasta. They were: Frozen, over cooked, and bad respectively. Service was fine, except he spilled my au jus on me. The ambiance was decent, except for the mouse in the back. Just for an idea of the price premium, we ordered: Prime Rib, Shrimp Pasta, kids pasta, and Wing Appetizer. 2 Sodas, 4 Beers. Total w/tip: $115. Seriously would have been $50 outside the park. I know the choices are weak "in the park", but you'd be better served looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Mandatory reservation for dinner, that sets up my expectation for some level of epicurean indulgence. Desserts (pecan pie and chocolate molten torte) were well executed, but that's about it. After 30+ minutes of waiting for our table despite having a reservation, and a further 45+ minutes wait for food, average meatloaf, bland tasting trout, and overcooked salmon weren't delivering much satisfaction. Other Yellowstone restaurants we've tried provide superior food or better value, or both.

Yelp
For breakfast options in Yellowstone, I prefer this place to the cafeteria at Old Faithful lodge. The way you get your food is similar to how you get your food at Chipotle, with employees giving you your food from behind glass barriers. The food is not that great, but it is ok, and certainly much better than the food at the Old Faithful cafeteria. The tables and chairs are sort of dirty, but still acceptable. M favorite thing about this place is how it has plenty of tea, three coffee machines, and even a machine where you can get hot cocoa from. Of the breakfast options in Yellowstone, this is probably the best. food: 3 stars cleanliness: 3.5 stars drink facilities: 4.5 stars employee kindness: 3.5 stars

Yelp
I realize that there are not that many choices in Yellowstone to have breakfast but this place is not one I would come back to. The presentation of even 2 fried eggs leaves a lot to be desired. No potatoes or any sort of garnish - just 2 eggs on a plate with 1 piece of toast (which was delivered late). Not recommended. Service was friendly but very unprofessional and sluggish.

Yelp
Lake house restaurant. Great place for breakfast. Kids loved the buffet, setting is beautiful. Did not eat here for dinner, menu with sandwiches

Yelp
Lake restaurant, We both had the Fish and chips and loved it. For Breakfast and another dinner we ate at the Cafe in the General store and had very good meals. Both places had good, fast service and friendly staff.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for lunch after a morning of hiking. I had a sandwich and French fries which was pretty decent. My husband had a vegetarian wrap and he said it was also very good. The service was a bit slow but the girl that filled the water was nice and prompt. The restaurant itself is a little 80's (gotta love brass fixtures) but seemed to be well maintained. I found the prices reasonable for a national park restaurant. We almost went back but ended up going to te Lakehouse restaurant (which was a mistake, should have came here).

Yelp
After waiting for 1 hour... We got our tables ...to know tht the dishes we wanted weren't available. Then we order pasta....it was worst...without any seasoning ....it just place placed directly from the pot and topped with some canned tomatoes( mashed) and fries were okay ...so was quesadillas were okay....we paid extravagant for the crappy food.....too pricey place with horrible food

Yelp
Two stars because we were really hungry, and it was there. Clean, nice atmosphere, friendly service. Food left a lot to be desired. Elk sliders came on hot dog buns cut in half. Mixed green salad was about 90% iceberg. Quit after the app and salad to move along...
