If you want some amazing tacos and nachos while sitting with a million dollar few then come here. The barbacoa was some of the best I’ve had. The family had amazing dinner then walk the pie for sunset. And don’t forget to get a beer on tap they were both great.

We were staying at the hotel next door, and I brought nearly 45 of my guests (a tour group) to dine at their restaurant. The servers were all polite and provided good service. Normally, when we bring a group to dine, the manager will offer us a discount or complimentary tacos, and in return, I encourage my guests to leave a generous tip. However, this time, the manager—a white older woman wearing a white shirt—was extremely rude and appeared visibly impatient. I politely asked if there were any discounts available for the driver, and she responded in a very unpleasant tone, saying there were none. I replied, “No problem, I’ll pay for it myself,” but instead of acknowledging this in a courteous way, she turned and walked away with a disrespectful attitude. Throughout the entire interaction, she did not smile once. I don’t owe her anything—there was no reason to treat me in such a disrespectful manner. This felt like clear racial discrimination. In my opinion, she is not suitable for a position that requires customer service skills!!!

Great tacos here. Hard to know that's what they sell though by only finding them in the park newspaper. It would also be nice if they had some local meats or fish for their tacos. Great view of Yellowstone Lake too.

Beautiful lake view and tasty tacos. The staff was very accommodating, especially Maddi. She went above and beyond to make our dinner enjoyable. We had an issue on our part where someone in our party forgot to mention their allergy, and though it was our fault, Maddi had an order remade for no extra charge. On top of that, we were generously given churros. (Even though it was our mistake!) We greatly appreciated her kindness.

GREAT VIEWS, SERVICE, AND FOOD. In Grant Village there is basically nowhere else to sit down and have a meal other than this Lake House restaurant and I am glad. The quality of the service was wonderful with each server being extremely attentive and also being very accommodating with all spots. There is also vegetarian options which was great because after a long day of being in Yellowstone seeing all the animals some people don’t particularly want meat. The meat options were amazing however, my favorite being the Al pastor which was a little spicy but had a lot of flavor. The spicy pork was very tender and had a pinch to it, but thankfully the grilled pineapple put on top of the taco evened the spice out. We also got the dip trip which was BOMB the salsa , guac, and queso all taste really fresh, and they used tortilla chips instead of corn chips which is what I usually see in American restaurants. One of my 2 highlights from the meal was just the view of Yellowstone slake you get from eating next to the window especially at sunset JAW DROPPING! Also the churros that we ended off with were just amazing crispy on the outside soft and a little gooey on the inside with lots of sugar and cinnamon on top. There wasn’t too much cinnamon though which I appreciated. OVERALL the meal was quite affordable, delicious, and unique with the fantastic view which is why I would definitely recommend Grant Village Lake House Restaurant to others and I will come again during my next visit to Yellowstone!

My husband and I went here after arriving late and no reservations at the dining room. The menu was small. You have a choice of an about 2-3 appetizers and 4 different kinds of tacos and 2 desserts. My husband and I both got the nachos, should be safe right? Wrong. The cheese was gritty, the salsa was an odd taste. The chips were cheap and flavorless. The only part of the nachos that were hot were the chips. The rest was cold-room temp. The beef was dry and bland. If I had the option to starve or eat those nachos again I would choose to starve. I couldn’t even make a dent in them despite being extremely hungry because they were that bad.

Wow. Amazing food and service! Been there twice, both times were great. They have made the tacos bigger and outdone the other park restaurants. Great job Sarah and the rest of the crew!!!

Your only choice if you come late or did not make a reservation. The menu is small, and feels expensive with a small taco for $5. We had to get a couple of plates of chips to fill up! Try the churros, they are a delight. The food is all quite we made, it is just small portions and limited menu. The views are spectacular, go walk around the lake.

Yelp
Just ok food but with great service and a spectacular view of Lake Yellowstone. If only rating the food, I would give Grant Village Lakehouse 2/5, but I think the quick service and view each bump it up by 1 star. After I ordered at the counter, my group found a vacant table in the corner, and our food all arrived within 5 minutes of sitting down! The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful, we came a little after sunset but I can imagine the sunset would have been amazing. The food was very affordable as well, with tacos around the $5-6 mark, and I think 2-3 tacos would be enough for a full meal for most. I tried the fish taco, al pastor, and barbacoa. Being from San Diego... I really did not like the fish taco. The fish was dry rather than buttery and flaky. I wouldn't recommend. The al pastor was very spicy so much so I couldn't taste much else. But I liked the barbacoa one though, if I were to go back I'd just get that one. It is strange that the meat is cubed instead of shredded, but it's ok. I also appreciated that if you ordered a vegetarian taco, it comes in a separate bowl to avoid cross contamination. Overall, I think Grant Village Lakehouse was a convenient, casual dinner spot, and I also understand the challenges of running a kitchen within a national park. I am glad we chose this restaurant to dine at.

Yelp
Yet another disappointment here in the park. The menu was tacos with chicken, pork, beef, fish or tofu, chips with some dips and that was about it. I was so shocked at the quality that I neglected to take a picture. I ordered two fish tacos and hubby got two chicken. The tacos are street style meaning the corn tortilla is small. The protein is also small and shredded. For our one plate with four tacos we got one slice of lime that was more like a sliver. When I went up to get a cup for water, I asked the cashier if the menu would change during the week and she said no. It was the same every day. Oh mercy! Don't waste your money here. I have completed a feedback form for every location and meal we have had and won't hold my breath for anyone to reach out to me. The lack of variety, quality and consistency in the menu options in the park just baffles me. People come from around the world to eat here and are basically captive unless you brought food with you in a camper. Such a disappointment!

Yelp
What a wasted opportunity to do a decent taco bar. Yellowstone NP food is a disaster throughout the park and this was no exception. It is supposed to be street tacos, and they also have a trio of dips and chips. The taco choices were: Al Pastor, Fish, Chicken, and Beef barbacoa. We ordered the dip trip (guacamole that looked like green paste with no seasoning, cheese dip, and what I think was an attempt at salsa but was just diced tomatoes with an occasional onion piece tossed in. For some reason if you order a single taco it comes in a bowl. Never in my life have I had a taco served in a bowl. These are supposed to be street tacos but they serve theirs in a single yellow tortilla. You need double tortillas to stop them from falling apart. You also need white corn, not yellow, for the tortilla. There was no salsa bar. How can you have a taco restaurant without a salsa bar? All they had was one flavorless salsa and one spicy(thank God) sauce in a squeeze bottle) And this is Yellowstone, what a missed opportunity to not have shredded elk, bison, or cubed venison tacos! Represent the local area proteins! And get this, no Mexican lager available to drink. This restaurant is what you get when someone wants to serve tacos but they don't understand tacos.

Yelp
If I could select a negative star I would have. These were the worst tacos I have ever had in my life!! I am Mexican I know what tacos are supposed to taste like. Not sure how they cooked their meat but all were horrible! My husband I ordered 3 to share. one each , pork, chicken and ground beef. We each took one bite and threw the rest away. Don't waste your time and money! How do you ruin hamburger? Their menu selection and hours were terrible. Will never stay at Grant Village again. The young lady that took our order was more interested in the conversation behind her than paying attention to us as she took our order.

Yelp
Needed a respite from the grills and ice cream parlors sprawled in other lodge areas. We came here because the other restaurant in Grant Village required a reservation and we were on a time crunch for a cruise. Our order: elk and bison wursts (with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and steamed veggies) and chicken parm (with polenta and steamed veggies). Five star view, and close to zero star food. When the menu read steamed veggies, it really meant steamed baby carrots and baby carrots only. Dried up steamed baby carrots were not the most appetizing to look at. The parmesan was not properly melted, the chicken was dry and there wasn't enough marinara to compensate for the previous two faults. Polenta was less than fluffy and certainly not creamy - we thought we were eating couscous. The wursts were okay - they started tasting the same after the first two bites. The mashed potatoes lacked flavour and the sauerkraut assumingly came from a jar, so it was okay. We were so disappointed with the food that we decided against coming here for breakfast the next morning. Maybe make a reservation at the other restaurant? Or stick to the grills. The cheeseburger and rotisserie chicken during lunch hour tasted so much better. As someone else said, it was cafeteria styled dining with self-service components. It would be worth it to come here for a few drinks as Yellowstone Lake is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend dining here.

Yelp
Went there to have dinner, but didn't realize they were serving just tacos and chips with salsa. It was pretty sad to be in this beautiful scenic place on the lake to have a snack as a dinner. It was also pricey because the portions were small. No choices for kids! The staff was nice, but the restaurant is not a place I would go back. We were all disappointed by the lack of foods and choices. Also, there were no boats on the marina in the middle of summer. I could envisioned this place with a much better menu to attract more customers serving local foods (fish and bison). So sad!

Yelp
Chicken wings are over fried, prime rib has so many fat. The view is good, besides the lake but it is the only restaurant in yellow stone park , wood house hotel. So you have no choice but "enjoy" the meal.

Solomon E.

Yelp
TERRIBLE BURGERS!!! Crusty and charcoal like on the out side, and way to undercooked on the inside!!!! Way overpriced, fries are floppy and flavorless!!! And they kicked my brother out because he has asthma and can't wear a mask because of COVID-19!!! WE WON'T BE BACK!!!!!!

Danyang Y.

Yelp
We went there really late, right before they close. The staff is nice. They have choices for noodles, meat, source. We chose spaghetti. I selected chicken and tariyaki source, which is too sweet! My boyfriend ordered beef and red source, which looks nice. Anyway their noodles are alright, veggies and meat Are ok. I just like that you can have your own choice. And the view there is awesome!!! We saw the lake and the rainbow there, amazing!

Mikki B.

Yelp
I had the Salmon and my Husband had the prime rib. The food was amazing. Our waiter was very friendly. The best part was the views of the lake! Prices were reasonable.

Sharan N.

Yelp
Other than food, you can go here for the outstanding view of the yellowstone lake. It was breathtaking. You cant ask more than the view during the sunset. The food was ok and good when compared to old faithful inn. We ordered Mahi-Mahi buger and it was nice, Reuben Panini which was just ok and Bison Burger can be still better. The fries as accompaniment were good. But more than the food, the place is a must for the view of the lake and is walk-able distance from Grant Campgrounds. The place is bit small so make reservations.

Leslie L.

Yelp
The cafeteria line was all over the place. We waited an hour for our food which was marginal at best-and overpriced to boot! The waitstaff was very cheerful but you kind of felt sorry for them because people were complaining a lot. We'd get something at the convenience store before we ate here again!

Chrissy C.

Yelp
Lousy food and self service style ordering. With a little effort they could make this a very good place to dine while in Yellowstone.

Alicia A.

Yelp
Cafeteria style dining with a nice view. Hubby made the mistake of ordering the prime rib. Don't do it. Meatloaf was ok. Would rather have spent the extra money and ate at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel Dining room twice.

Trisha C.

Yelp
This was the most expensive bad food we have paid for in a very long time. We were coming back to our lodge for the night and seemed like a logical choice. What a waste of money. Very expensive and not even fresh grill quality. Go to the general store for some staples. It will come out better!

M R.

Yelp
This is a fine respite from the many grills, ice cream places, and "fine dining"establishments in Yellowstone. Mind you, the food is sightly better than cafeteria level on those special food days, but being directly on Yellowstone lake, I was quite forgiving. If and when I come back, it won't be for the Huckleberry chicken, which was flavorful but a bit dry, it the garlic parmesan fries, but instead the views.

Me H.

Yelp
We ate here when there was nothing else we could get in to. Fabulous views, nice wait staff, but pretty pricey food. They charge you for the noodles then again for the meat. I had the noodles with steak and spicy peanut sauce. It was spicy, noodles were ok, but the meat was pretty poor. Grey all the way through. I'd eat elsewhere unless you have no choice.

Yelp
It seems like the menu has changed compared to what the older reviews say. I went for dinner a few days ago-offerings were around $15-17 and included meatloaf, chicken, trout, turkey pot roast, bratwurst, some salads, and $6 kids meals like chicken tenders and mac and cheese. Ordered the meatloaf on recommendation from the staff- came with veggie which was just steamed zucchini, and mashed potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised! I received two big pieces of meatloaf and it was very tasty with good gravy. The mashed potatoes were good and silky too. We also ordered the kids chicken tenders- three big pieces and fries (chicken was good, fries not). One person in my group got the huckleberry chicken and did not like it- one piece of chicken and sauce just tasted like bbq sauce. The view is GORGEOUS! Right on the lake!!! I would recommend for a quick and easy meal with a great view.

Yelp
If you want to pay $18 for a meal that is worse than what you can get at a Panda fast food chain - then head here. This is a cafeteria wasting a beautiful view of the Lake. The vegetables are cooked until they are soggy and tasteless - and since the dishes come with sauce that is more like soup - overwhelming all other tastes - it is consistent with the mediocrity of this place. For a few dollars more a plate - you can get real table service, better food and a great view at several other restaurants in the park. Avoid this expensive and mediocre lake house .
