Granville House

I LOVE Granville House! I've just returned home from my third stay there and cannot recommend it strongly enough. The hosts, Terri and Terry, are warm, friendly people who have impeccable taste and tremendous skill. The breakfasts are delicious, the home's decor is beautiful and characterful, and no detail has been overlooked in ensuring their guests' comfort. On my most recent visit, I dropped a diamond ring in the sink. Terri went above and beyond to dismantle the sink and recover my ring. Truly fabulous people delivering an unmatched guest experience!

In heart of Berkshires 4 min drive to downtown Great Barrington. Repurposed old mansion. Decor is retro-funky lots of mid-century objects. But, up to date amenities, well maintained, good bed. Gracious, helpful owner. Unfortunately had to leave before we could try the 2nd "B", but smelled good. ;-)|Note it is near an active RR spur with 3-4 trains per day, but only @ mid morning to @ 10 PM.

My daughter and I just returned from an overnight at Granville House in Great Barrington. From the moment we were warmly welcomed at the door until the moment we took our leave to head home again, our stay was pure delight!! ||Terry and Terri didn't miss any opportunity to enhance the guest experience in their B&B. It has been lovingly restored and thoughtfully appointed to create an ambiance that is both cozy and elegant. The public areas downstairs have a wonderful array of interesting objects, books, games, art, and music for guests to enjoy. The basket of thick wool socks available at the front door, the whimsical working juke box with their "Start with Yes" slogan on the wall above it, the vinyl record library to select from and enjoy downstairs or in your own room on the turntables available there, the delicious breakfast including the most heavenly muffin ever...all were just perfect!!! ||Upstairs, our room was spacious and lovely with a comfortable bed, snowy white linen (yes, linen!) sheets, fluffy towels, robes and all the bathroom amenities needed for a truly relaxing stay. ||I heartily recommend Granville House and Terry and Terri's warm hospitality. I can't wait to go back!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Granville house. The proprietors, Terry and Terri, were very welcoming and seemed interested in ensuring we had a comfortable stay. The inn is very charming and filled with lots of interesting Americana and thoughtful decor. Our room was well appointed and comfortable to stay in, and the common areas were nice to relax in with lots of games to play. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommend anyone staying here for their vacation in the Berkshires.

This is the B&B of all B&Bs. No wonder they won a Michelin award. My husband and I stayed while visiting family during a frosty Berkshire weekend and couldn't have been more impressed with Granville House. Terri and Terry make the whole experience friendly, private and so luxurious. As a longtime luxury travel writer, I have stayed at many boutique hotels, and this is more of a luxury boutique hotel at B&B pricing. A considerable value! The decor, coziness, sophistication, Americana souvenirs and fireplaces all added to the immense charm. Terri was so friendly and helpful and gave us great suggestions for dining and antiquing. The bed was comfort PLUS, with beautiful soft linen sheets that made getting out of bed only possible by the promise of their sumptuous breakfasts and olive oil muffins. The tomatoes and rosemary salt on the bagel were divine! Also, they have a record player room with vinyl that re inspired our love and now we are running out to get one for the house. All in all, a gorgeous place that I would have gladly stayed a week in if time allowed. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Granville House last summer and had a great stay. It was very relaxing. The property is very cozy and homey with lots of little nooks to hang out in. The breakfast is also excellent. Would definitely recommend. We can’t wait to come back!

A superb B&B that we’d highly recommend. Wonderfully decorated, comfortable beds (loved the linen sheets), super breakfasts, the hosts background in high end hospitality shines through. Hope to return!

Our stay was beyond lovely. We fell asleep listening to James Taylor on the record player in the ultra comfortable bed! Quiet, quaint & cozy. Breakfast was incredible and I didn’t want to leave. Perfect getaway.

Wow.... As one who frequents many BnBs, historic Inn s, and the requisite work travel corporate hotels. All I can say is that I have never never never encountered as nice of a place - and as nice of hosts, than at Granville House. We were lucky enough to score a room here during the 2021 holiday season and we took it without high expectations - but holy snowflake Batman! This place is amazing! And I had the pleasure of meeting both owners and connecting as nice easy going human beings. What a find! Our first night was especially special because we got a size-able snowfall! So I spent quite a bit of time downstairs by the fireplaces, playing billiards, listening to vinyl records, and under the front porch space heaters. Magical is a word I might use but it's inadequate. I think I prefer transcendental. I tend to give emphatic reviews seldom - only when a place really impresses me (or disappoints me). All I can say about this place is please don't book the nights I want next year!! And in the meantime - go find out what you are missing!!

My husband booked this as a surprise for me for my birthday and I could not be happier! It is gorgeous, and Terry and Terri were wonderful hosts. The property is so inviting and cosy and comfortable - we didn't want to leave! We booked room 5 which was very spacious, with a gorgeous bathroom. Bed was super comfy. An unexpected pleasure was the record players and vinyl collections to choose from... we had lots of fun playing records in our room in the evening The breakfast was absolutely perfect! And I don't know what they put in those olive oil muffins but they're heaven! Just do yourself a favour and stay here! We also had a wonderful dinner at John Andrew's Farmhouse, and enjoyed hiking Monument Mountain during our stay.

My wife and I just returned from a weekend away and stayed at the Granville House. This was a great experience. The house was beautiful. Terry and Terri were amazing hosts and great cooks. If you're staying in the Berkshires, this is the place to stay. Quiet, centrally located and amazing hospitality.

This review is based on my first and only experience with B&Bs, but after staying at The Granville House with my wife last week I'm confident that I don't need to stay anywhere else. The hosts, Terry and Terri, were very kind and welcoming and we felt right at home within minutes of our arrival. I don't know how they did it, but they literally thought of everything and spared no expense in the process. The lighting, bedding, and over all decor make you want to move right in. We loved the extensive record collection that is free to use on the record players in your room or the one down stairs. There is a pool table, plenty of seating for all guests throughout, and even a selection of whiskey of which a free glass is included with your stay. I could go on, and honestly there were so many positives that I'm having a hard time formulating them into a coherent review. I'll spare the reader from my rambling and leave you with one last thing, do NOT skip out on breakfast. I'm drooling just thinking about the omelet and olive oil muffins. Can't wait to go back!

We've been coming to the Berkshires for years to see family. We just discovered Granville House and stayed for the first time over Thanksgiving. This is our new favorite accommodation in the area. Terri and Terry have created a stunning inn that is everything a B&B should be. Inviting public spaces and generously-sized, well-thought-out rooms come with a yummy breakfast service that reflects the hosts' background in NYC's celebrated restaurants. Record players in each of the guest rooms with access to a music collection off of one of the stylish sitting rooms is nice touch -- a secret sauce of sorts that gives the house a bit of a hip sensibility. While we wish the Coughlins all the success in the world, with only five rooms, we selfishly hope their creation doesn't get so popular that we can't get back in -- as we definitely want to return!

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Granville House. Every aspect of our experience from the daily breakfast to our initial welcome, from the clean, comfortable bed to our ramblings around the beautiful property was outstanding. We cannot recommend this B&B highly enough, and we look forward to many happy returns. Can't wait to see it in the snow!

My only fear about writing this review is that they'll get so popular that they'll be booked next time I want to visit! Wow - what isn't there to say about Granville House?! As someone with a BA in Hospitality Management I can be critical about hotels, motels and B&Bs. From the warm welcome, to the great location, the delicious food, and more - Granville House stands out as one of the best accommodation options in Western Massachusetts. Some of my favorite features: -Record players in every room and an extensive vinyl library to borrow from -Friendly and comforting personalized service from the owners -Luxurious bedding from BrookLinen and comfortable beds & furniture -Quiet and rustic location with easy access to tourist attractions such as Kripalu, Stockbridge Main St, Norman Rockwell Museum, and Tangelwood. -Amazing homecooked breakfast (with the best Olive Oil Muffins!) -Tasteful and modern decoration with fun wall hangings We can't wait to return and are already planning another visit this summer!!

Wow, just wow. This place is amazing. If you're looking for an amazing getaway, Granville House is it! It has 5 bedrooms total, which allows for a personalized experience. The owners thought of everything. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The shared space is warm and welcoming. Book now! You won't regret it.

We had the pleasure of staying here for one night... we only wish we could have stayed a week! The place was immaculate... the design, decor, layout, bedding, you name it! Breakfast was delicious. Terry and Terri are amazing hosts. We will stay here again, and again... highly recommend!

Amazing. Terry andTerri are perfect hosts. This place is beautifully decorated. There are multiple sitting areas downstairs which includes a fireplace, a pool table, a music room with a sitting area and many records. There's also a area with a card table with a shelf full of games. The room nbr 2 which we stayed was nicely appointed again with record player. The bed was sooo comfortable. The whole room and bathroom was completely redone and beautiful. The breakfast was all homemade and yummy yummy from the muffin to the eggs and the coffee. Everything was thought of including a sound machine in our room. Can't wait to go back.
