Staff were very nice and welcoming. Service was excellent! Food was really good. Thanks to the guys (sorry I lost your names that I typed down) who made our evening one to remember.

Google
Nice quality food paired with warm, attentive am genuinely friendly service from all the staff. A delightful experience. Don't be shy to ask for a wine taste when you are unsure of what to have for a drink

Google
The food was absolutely delicious. A perfect authentic cuisine, everything you could wish for in Lisbon. And our server, Monica, was so sweet and made the experience even better.

Isabelle Roth-Meyer

Google
Perfect experience here at grapes and wines, mostly because of Monica’s excellent hosting talent and advices, but also thanks to a simple and very lovely concept: you eat very well, you drink even better ! We’ll be back !

Google
Prahlad was our server he was great. Good was good and they have good appetizers and the meat appetizer with garlic sauce was great. Recommend land open late.

Google
Used to go here with friends of mine and had great (amazing) times, yesterday i went again and its a shell of its former glory. The food wasnt that good and they didnt elaborate on the wines. They automatically recommend the expensive wines without elaboration. It is obvious that the bar is under new management and it shows its quality. I dont think ill come here again. Shame. Waitress was sweet though.

Google
What a fantastic evening at Grapes and Bites Winehouse! We enjoyed delicious traditional Portuguese food, beautifully crafted cocktails, and warm, attentive service. Special thanks to Prahlad for his spot-on food recommendations and to the lovely Monica for the wonderful conversation that made our night even more memorable. A perfect mix of great food, drinks, and genuine hospitality - highly recommended when you’re in Lisbon!

Google
Visited tonight this place finally for the first time, after passing by it daily and always seeing it full, — loved the whole experience. Staff is so friendly and professional (they intruduced me so many different wines, which I loved), the atmosphere was just amazing, food good, and Jazz & Soul R&B playing. Would not change a thing! Loving that a place like this opened in the area. Thank you!

Yelp
Enjoyable experience. A true wine bar- many choices by the glass and bottle. Staff were very helpful providing recommendations. Food was excellent. I had the shrimp w garlic appetizer - yum. Baked cod entree was also flavorful. Stuffed chicken entrée was good but a bit dry - this seemed like the most popular entrée coming out of the kitchen. All the dishes served around us looked good. Live music was a nice touch to the evening.

Yelp
The food was so amazingly delicious, we wish we could have gone back for a second dinner, especially the octopus and pork.....still drooling. Service was excellent and the live music was such a nice touch. One of the best meals we had in Portugal

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner of Petiscos (Portuguese Tapas) and a selection of outstanding Portuguese wines including the expected Porto. But the star of the evening was our server Ricardo a true food and wine connoisseur and a great singer too. Don't miss any of this when you are next in Lisbon.

Yelp
Feeling bad for giving so many 5-star reviews in Portugal but just can't help it. So many great places to eat and Grapes & Bites is another. We happened on this restaurant for our last dinner in Portugal. Reservations are available on-line which is great for those of us on a budget and not willing to get a cell plan for a week-long visit. Anyway, our waitress was fantastic, super helpful and with excellent wine recommendations. She selected a very nice Duoro red by the glass for us and it was perfect - full bodied, dry, slight fruit on the nose - another of the many under-appreciated Portuguese wines out there. My wife and I shared the cheese and charcuterie board along with a mix salad. For $4 euros, the salad was actually quite sizeable and with the mixed board and 2 glasses of wine, we were quite full. The mixed board was covered with tasty soft and hard cheese as well as 4 different types of salamis and sausages, each slightly different in taste and texture but all excellent. There were also 2 different types of jams / marmalades and an assortment of nuts. Refer to the attached photo. Highly recommended but was a little pricey at $20 euros. They had a separate cheese only board for $10 euros and a charcuterie only board also for $10 euros. I saw these other boards on other tables and they are quite large so if you have a bigger appetite, then order each separately and you will pay the same. My son the carnivore had the steak with a pepper sauce which was also quite good. The sauce was just slightly spicy and the sauce was creamy and paired very well with the steak. My daughter had the pork cheeks. I was quite jealous as I had been wanting to order this delicacy throughout our stay in Portugal but had opted for other dishes instead. She did let me have a taste and it was super tender, moist, and the sauce with amazing. The wine we had, also pictured, was as described above and paired very well with all of the plates we had. To make the night even more fun, a guitarist was playing and singing classic rock tunes including Dire Straits! All-in-all, I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Lisbon. It is on a busy alley with many many different restaurant and bar selections so try to avoid being distracted and get to this retaurant!

Yelp
OVERALL - Great dinner spot with live acoustic English music around 7PM and a fair amount of selection of different types of appetizer and entree dishes (seafood, meats, vegetarian). Would recommend the pork cheek. FOOD - Appetizers: The veal capparccio which was quite tasty with a buttery smooth texture but the cuttlefish with garlic and wine sauce was the better of the two. Entrees: The pork cheek was really well made and the highlight of the meal - it was very soft and tender. My friend got the veal with Portuguese sauce and was super tasty and flavorful with very thin cut lightly seasoned fries. Desserts: we got the thousand layer cake which we didn't love - the ice cream was a sour lime sorbet like flavour that we didn't think paired well with the cake. SERVICE - Great service, no complaints! VIBE - There was a guy playing an electrical acoustic guitar and played popular English covers which was really pleasant and relaxing - not too loud or soft.

Yelp
My company rented out the restaurant for an event and I fell in love with it to the point I came back on my own The food is wonderful and the wine selection is , quite frankly, epic. But what really makes it special is the staff. So friendly and as an American who doesn't speak Portuguese, the staff was fluent in English and so accommodating. They suggested wonderful wine pairings and were just lovely. The ambience is cozy & relaxed and both nights they had a really wonderful singer on piano (though she never plays so loud you can't have a conversation. Really wonderful place.

Yelp
Great food & ambience! We had the charcuterie plate & delicious Portuguese wine. Live music was a plus. We would definitely go back.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner while wandering around and having no luck finding GF food. It's a nice little wine bar with a cozy interior. The server was great when I asked about GF options and assured me they could make me a risotto and that the charcuterie board would be GF. They had an amazing singer and an extensive wine list, which made for a great dinner atmosphere. The food, especially the charcuterie board was very good but extremely filling as the portions are quite large. This is a great place to spend a more low key evening just enjoying the music, food and company.

Yelp
Exzellent food with a great appetizers. They serve fresh food and offer good price to quality value fish! In Addition the wine menu is amazing. A recommendation in relation to the food we ordered was a perfekt match. A big recommendation

Yelp
Don't accidentally stumble on this spot but search it for a delicious dinner. We needed a good Rose and we were given an excellent Rose. 3 dishes shared for a delightful experience Live music started quietly at 8. Music is a bonus to table conversation not a deterrent. Diners around us seemed happy with their orders. Nice atmosphere intimate charming

Yelp
Wonderful little wine bar and cafe I found while wondering some of the back streets in Lisbon. The waitress was very attentive and found wines that were pleasing to my palate - they have an enormous inventory of Portuguese wines. Try the ports here for desert, they are to die for. I had a meat and cheese board that featured Portuguese dried meats and cheeses that were exceptional. The place would be hard to find so use google maps, etc. to find it. It is a bit pricey, but worth the excellent wines.

Yelp
Yummy tapas and wine at reasonable prices. Located in the heart of Barrio Alto, there are many restaurants in the area but this one is a standout. We split the 20€ meat and cheese platter and there was more than enough for two. The cured meats were pretty standard (no jamon included) but high quality. Nice variety of hard and soft cheeses as well (cow, goat and sheep's milk). Quince paste along with two varieties of jam topped it off. The pumpkin jam was unique and I would highly recommend it! We also split an appetizer of sardines in herb sauce. It was delicious but I wish the sauce was on the side so we could choose how much to take with the fish. Overall a fab experience!

Yelp
Great place, great service you will not be disappointed for sure. Ask for Nuno, he is great with recommendations wine and food.

Yelp
Outstanding place to eat in Lisbon. Music was good and servers very attentive. I'll definitely go back!
google avatar

Neelam P.

Yelp
Not too many vegetarian options on the menu, but the things we tried were good. We tried the 11 month aged cheese served with pumpkin jam which was really good. Padron peppers stuffed with cheese - also very good and something different for us. Mushrooms stuffed with veggies - very tasty and a generous portion. We tried 2 different red wines from the Douro valley which our waitress picked out for us that we enjoyed. There was live music after 8 the night we went (weekday) which added to whole ambiance of the place.

Yelp
Wonderful wine bar and restaraunt in downtown Lisbon which is a short walk away from the touristy areas. My wife and I had some late afternoon wine and cheese and everything was superb. The owner was extremely knowledgable and the wine and cheese was delicious. As we were leaving, folks were ordering dinner and he food looked amazing. A real hidden gem in Lisbon's historic district.

Yelp
What an exceptional find in an other wise very touristy area; we ended up being served by the manager/sommelier who literally walked us thru Portugal's wine regions from north to south, ending with a very special port vintage from 1996. The food and music that accompanied our virtual journey through Portugal was also quite excellent but it was the wine and the professional service that will bring us back to this hidden gem

Yelp
Good selection of wines, nice ambiance, helpful service. We stopped by at 9:30 PM as a party of two, and the place was pretty bustling. We split a few different wines and small plates, and there were plenty of options and helpful staff to boot. The food is a bit on the pricier side, but overall it's a good experience and a good place to try different wines.

Yelp
I'm very surprised that there are not more reviews of this fantastically wine bar. The have more choices than most any wine bar in Lisbon. A bit challenging to find as the numbers on the street go from 79 to 84. Keep walking and the are on the left hand side of the street. They are extremely knowledgeable of all the wines they serve which are all from Portugal. Both Jaoa and Gonçalo k ow their stuff! Seriously dude!. Our son in in the wine industry and they have a good feel for the wine they present. Very welcoming and priced appropriately. Describe the wine type and they will bring it to you. Jaoa is a level 3 sommelier and without a doubt, he's got it going only so does his partner Gonçalo. Even though we came later that evening, they had time to be great hosts. Many thanks, gents. We will certainly be back. From your new friends in surf town USA..dude!

Yelp
Came in late afternoon for drinks and light food. Staff was extremely knowledgeable of different wines and space was cute. Would recommend.

Yelp
Stumbled in here randomly to find ridiculous wine and food. The mussels were on point and made with cheese, fresh veggies and a killer sauce. The pork cheeks were even better. Awesome joint on a quiet street embedded in a hectic part of Lisboa.
google avatar

Jurriaan V.

Yelp
Nice little place with awesome wines and ports. And the food isn't too shabby either! Busy even on weekday evening, live music and knowledgeable wait staff help it along, albeit a little slow sometimes and the English can be poor for some staff.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Good service, delicious food, a bit pricey. I found the itemized oil, olives, pesto, and bread amuse-bouches to be petty... either give free of charge or as one set. None the less, the food was worth the visit and they have some reasonably priced wines (for the neighborhood at least).
google avatar

Yelp
I won't be able to come up with superlatives that are more interesting than anyone else's, but I do have to tell this story...I got hopelessly lost in a downpour, like for a couple hours, & I must have asked for directions a dozen times, & no taxi would pick me up, so by the grace of God I finally found the river & somehow managed to turn the right way, & then I found a street that looked familiar, & I slogged back up the hill to the hostel, by now completely soaked to the skin. This place down the block I'd noticed before, it's a Sunday afternoon & empty because of the crazy weather, & even though they have 800-euro bottles of wine on the menu, I sit down in my sweatshirt & flip-flops & proceed to have the classiest traditional Portuguese meal you could imagine, & a flight of local wine that probably earned me secret college credits. I had a cheese plate from another planet, & then a really tasteful house salad & some cornbread-encrusted bacalhau with potatoes. I was joking with the waiter early on, like, "Anybody ever come in here & order a beer?" Because they have an encyclopedic wine list & all the walls are covered in bottles everywhere, right, & we got a good laugh about it, but then the day drifted on, & after a couple hours some other people finally showed up, & it was a couple speaking French, & sure enough...two beers! xD It was a gorgeous afternoon, & at nite when I'd walk by the place was always hopping with a great variety of people, live music sometimes, definitely a great destination in a neighborhood already dizzy with spectacular food options. I hope this was mostly correct, but I told the guy at one point when I was rhapsodizing about the meal, ""Finalmente eu entendo por que o casal do filme Casablanca queriam fugir e vir para cá." Finally I understand why the couple from the movie Casablanca wanted to escape & come here. Hahaha. :-] CR

Yelp
Great spot in Lisbon, Portugal for cured meat, cheese and good local wine selection. Pregame here then head out to the local bars and lounges within the five block radius...
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
My wife and i had a wonderful time at this lovely venue. I would tecommend reservations the day of or the day before as we had to wait 40 minutes on a saturday. But it is worth it!! The menu changes so i can't recommend anything. There is always live music and the wine selections is awesome.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Nice wine bar with excellent tapas. Got the Cod salad, jamon and octopus, all were great. Excellent service and beautiful place. Prices were higher than most similar places in Lisbon but worth it to us.
google avatar

Andreas N.

Yelp
Food was great. Good live music. Good ambience. Perfect for a date. The wine sommelier was really helpful and friendly and he let us taste different wines before choosing one. Would recommend.

Yelp
We had a terrific tasting experience here with knowledgeable and kind staff. We ordered a few glasses of wine and port and a delicious cheese plate. Highly recommend for exploring Portuguese wines and ports. We bought a few bottles to take home.

Yelp
Just had a quick snack with wine before dinner. It was cute with a quaint atmosphere; reminded me of Italy. It was quite busy. The menu had a very large selection of wine and port. The goat cheese and the fig and onion compote was delicious.
google avatar

Kirstin K.

Yelp
What a wonderful establishment in Lisbon. Live music every night, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful onion jam and cheeses. Just love everything about this place.
google avatar

Joanne L.

Yelp
Live music on a Sunday night. Great variety of wine and cheese (my first experience with green wine!). Main courses were traditional and well portioned. Lots of fish options, but also meat and vegetarian dishes. Fun place to hang out with friends!
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
The staff here knows their wines. The drink list is massive, and I had no idea what I was in the mood for - at 10 pm after dinner, after stumbling upon this well-reviewed spot (thanks yelp!). Turns out I was in the mood for sparkling wine! Food looked great but I only had the marinated olives. Live music was fabulous, a young man with a guitar singling Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder. I'd come back, particularly for a wine flight at daytime and try lots of new tastes.
google avatar

Rita V.

Yelp
Beyond 5 stars! THE FOOD! THE SERVICE!!! THE VINTAGE PORTS! You simply can't get better for the price, the quality, the vibe, the personal service! The hams, cheeses, traditional dishes, and SUPERB down to earth service... We came on a gastronomic walking tour, and left dancing on water - they just made us feel SOOOOO welcome, so at home. EXCELLENT!
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
What's not to love about a place where the drinks menu has 12 pages just for port? Well actually I was a little overwhelmed so shared a bottle of sparkling wine with my friends instead, but this place is great! It was really busy but we managed to get a table for three for our late dinner and a drink. I don't eat sea food or fish do the menu was a little limited for me but I really fancied the flame cooked chorizo. When I ordered it the really friendly waiter said that it was just a plate of chorizo and didn't come with anything. That was fine by me as I love chorizo and we were having a cheese and bread board with it anyway. My friends went for fish dishes - one salmon on sweet potato and the other some kind of fish pie. They were both very impressed. My plate of chorizo, was exactly how he said it would be, just a plate of chorizo, but it was much bigger than I imagined. It went well with the delicious cheese board and bread and it was the nicest chorizo I've ever had. The cheese was lovely on the whole. Our favourite was a really creamy sheep cheese. There was one which was too strong for us but the others were tasty and it came with a really sweet but tangy chutney and seeds and nuts. They didn't have any of the cheaper bottles of sparkling wine we wanted but the waiter very kindly gave us a bottle of a more expensive one for the cheaper price. Winner! It was a really lovely rose sparkling wine which went well with the food. It's a great little place with shelves of so many different wines all around the room. There was live music and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in/going to Lisbon. The only thing it lost a star for is that it is a little pricey.
google avatar

Shon G.

Yelp
Wonderful experience here! As wine lovers we are still confused by the enormous variety of wine regions and grapes in Portugal, so we got the server to help us choose wine according to our taste. He had us taste numerous wines and recommended really interesting ones. We learned a lot and enjoyed every sip, alongside one of the best cheese platters I've had anywhere in the world. Definitely check this place out!! And compared to everything else in Lisbon this place is not actually that expensive. Two Euor symbols at most.

Reona O.

Yelp
We made a reservation at 8pm on a Valentine's day weekend and were glad we did! This wine bar/restaurant was packed with people throughout the night. The place had a great atmosphere, everyone was enjoying great wine & food, conversation and live music. There was a special course menu for two that included a variety of tapas food and chocolate fondue with sparkling wine for dessert. Since I didn't eat meat, they offered to include more seafood and fish items to substitute for meat, great and flexible service! We had a hard time choosing wine (the entire restaurant wall is covered with wine!). We asked for some fruity white wine and brought us a bottle of Morgado Sta. Catherina. As soon as we tasted it, we knew it was the wine for the night! This local wine was very fruity and light like water and went with fish and cheese very well. The tapas food was served in a tree. Smoked salmon wraps, codfish cake with deep-friend potatoes, octopus in a pastry shell, sardine, jam, baked cheese, ham and chicken sausage (meat was just for my boyfriend). I enjoyed them all with bread and olive oil. This is one of the places that made our trip to Lisbon very special :)
google avatar

margaret g.

Yelp
Excellent place ! We ate here 2 x during our 4 day stay in Lisbon. Great service, wine and food and live music. Our server Nadia was excellent as well as the other staff. Her recommendations were perfect. The best dish was the grilled octopus. But everything else was excellent too. Nice atmosphere and they take credit cards! Not all places do in Lisbon. Will definitely go back next time!
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Fabulous! Best wine list we've seen in Portugal. Not to mention our waiter knew the list very well and was able to recommend some white wines we had never tried. The food was also good, but if you go for anything go for the wine. We went at 8 pm on a Saturday night & there was also live acoustic music.

Lawrence B.

Yelp
A perfect place to chill. We went in to use the wifi and have a glass of wine while we sorted out a problem with our hotel. The waiter was knowledgeable and suggested some delicious wines. Excellent selection of wine. Fast wifi. A super relaxing place to be.
google avatar

Nina T.

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday night around 6:30pm and were seated right away. There was live music going on starting 7-7:30pm ish and also when the restaurant got crowded. Overall it was a pleasant experience with music and tapas. Also the huge collection of wine is also a place for wine lovers. (Though you might be overwhelmed too..) The only con is that they serve you bread, olive oil, crackers and fruit plate without explicitly telling you they CHARGE for it. This might be a little bit annoying for some when the charges show up your bill at the end of the meal.
google avatar

Boris K.

Yelp
Certainly one of the nicer options in the area. It was a recommendation of one of the shop owners nearby. We had an absolutely great bottle of wine recommended by the waitress, and the food was nicely presented and good - nothing to die for but nothing to complain about either. The place itself is lovely and they do have live music, in our case a really good acoustic guitar player/singer that played a lot of great pop songs. In short if you happen to be in the neighborhood and get a table you won't regret it- it is easy to spend a nice, even romantic evening there. If you are in a different area with its own choices, no reason to take a detour here. There are plenty of great options in Lisbon - go out and find your own favorites!

Sharon G.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Food was good. Wine was great. Owner very knowledgeable, was interesting to hear his explanations as we were overhearing him speak to another table doing a wine tasting. Probably an excellent place to do a tasting.
google avatar

Nosmo K.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service in the heart of Chiado. We dined here twice in a week. Both times the waiters had excellent wine suggestions. I would eat here again, but....make sure you sit at a table with a chair and not the stool, the chairs are way more comfortable.
google avatar

Adam R.

Yelp
This is one of the best wine bars you will experience in Lisbon. The owner is amazing and dedicated to showing you the best products available. As we were paying our bill he told us to wait and brought over a 20 year old port wine to try as we were drinking the 10 year old. It is these kinds of experiences that make you appreciate a venue.

Laura F.

Yelp
The place is very cosy and classy. It has a fireplace and the whole restaurant is decorated with wine bottles, which creates a good atmosphere. Staff is friendly and they are willing to describe the traditional Portuguese dishes for tourists in a very nice way. Furthermore they've got a huge range of wines that one can choose from with the help of a sommelier. Eating there was really good. The only reason why I cannot give 5 stars is that the servings were smaller than expected. But I guess that is typical of that kind of haute cuisine. Dishes looked and tasted delicious, but were a little too small at times. So I am glad me and my friends were not too hungry altogether before going there.
google avatar

Bronwyn B.

Yelp
Excellent service and great knowledge of wines and a huge range. Lovely, romantic and cosy atmosphere atmosphere. More upmarket than some other places but worth it. Lots of seafood on the menu.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Fantastic place. My wife and I were here on a two day trip through Lisbon, and can say this was one of the best all around international dinning experiences we've ever had. The food was excellent, the service was superb, and we could not believe the wine selection. Ask for Alex, and have him select everything for you.
google avatar

Varia M.

Yelp
I agree with many other reviews here - it's a nice enough place with a pleasant ambiance, but nothing for which to go out of your way. I found it quite overpriced. Didn't love that they charged me for the bread that came with my cheese plate (??!!).The wine list is extensive and there's plenty of fun to be had if you have a lot of cash to drop and/or are trying to woo a romantic prospect.
