What a fabulous find. The grasshoppers hotel is basically on top of the train station, which you think should be very noisy and busy. It was so quiet (we had a rear unit). Location was great. Food was great. Staff was exceptional and the little things they do just blew me away. Homemade ice cream and pastries outside your room. Tasty breakfasts and more smiles and welcoming faces than I can remember in any hotel. Rooms are smaller but very well equipped and clean. Highly recommended and would stay again

This hotel ranks up there as one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. I love the atmosphere here! The staff is exceptionally friendly, and so helpful. It’s in a great location; just a hop, skip, and a jump from the main train station, and near to many sites. The room is super comfortable. It is located on the sixth floor of a building that has secured access and also an elevator. The rooms are lovely. Mine was a single and generously sized, with a desk, a large shower, TV, and plenty of storage, along with the ability to make tea and coffee in the room. And the hotel itself has a wonderful selection in the lobby of homemade cupcakes, both vegan, and regular, along with a section of homemade ice cream, also with vegan options. All of them are free for guests. There is a lounge with books, coffee, and tea, makings and wine that is available for purchase by the glass or bottle at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is free if you book directly with the hotel and it is delicious. I would definitely stay here again. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially for the price.

Absolutely fantastic hotel!! The room was clean and the free ice cream, cake and Smarties made the stay feel really homely and welcoming! The location isn’t difficult to find and is clearly marked with a sign outside, as well as instructions on how to get to the right floor. The lady in reception was so nice and friendly, she gave us all the information we needed during our stay and checking in and out was super quick and easy. Will definitely be staying here again!!

Super close to Central Station. It’s on the 6th floor. You have to look closely to see their sign. Rooms are cozy. They have a common room with tea and coffee available whenever you want. Delicious cakes made by the staff and ice cream and also an ice machine are all close by for your enjoyment. A delicious breakfast awaits you in the morning. I would stay here again if I ever return to Glasgow. Truly a gem 💎

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We originally booked a twin room with single beds and we were given a twin room with two double beds which was great! The location is very convenient. Right next to the train station with a lot of restaurants and super markets around. The only downside was the bathroom door. It was a sliding door with a big gap so a lot of bathroom smells went into the sleeping area.

Friendly and welcoming hotel. Simple and comfortable room. Very fresh and clean. We greatly appreciated the ceiling fan to keep the room cool. The location is first rate being in the same block as Central Station. Don't be put off by the humble entrance! We enjoyed the Self service breakfast with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. Whilst this hotel isn't super plush it is perfect for a short stay in central Glasgow . Great value.

Google
A classic case of not judging the book by the cover. You enter a building right next to the central glasgow Station with initial fears that you've made a mistake and booked a shabby hotel.. only to find a clean and bright 6th floor hotel with the kindest and most hospitable staff imaginable. Freshly baked treats were provided with coffee and tea in the lounge. Staff made gluten and dairy free as well as other treats and there is a freezer with stocked ice cream for vegan and non vegan alike. Quiet and clean rooms. Beds were too soft for our liking and coffee wasn't aromatic but the hospitality and warmth of the place makes it totally worth it.

Cute lil boutique hotel above the train station. Rooms were small but had everything you needed. Breakfast was great. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. Fairly quiet considering the location. I would love to stay again…. And can’t forget about the free pastries!

Yelp
Wow! What a fabulous find. Everything about Grasshoppers was top notch and wonderful. The location, the rooms, the bed, the bedding, the amazing breakfast, the super-friendly staff and the overall vibe and atmos were fabulous! All I can say is that we will be back next time we're in Glasgow. We won't stay anywhere else.

Yelp
Excellent central location, comfortable rooms, and super friendly staff. It's a small hotel and as a result you're not just another nameless guest. The staff makes you feel at home. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Quirky but nice. The standard rooms are quite small and lack some basics-like a closet and dresser so your clothes hang on a wall hook and there are no drawers. Also, there is no iron or hair dryer in the room, but you can ask at the front desk (which you have to walk to as there is no phone or alarm clock either.) The layout is odd too-it is the 6th floor of a building that requires a code to enter. However, it is very welcoming. There is a nice common area and "the kitchen" is on the same floor and stocked with complementary snacks. The staff are friendly and it was nice to walk down to "the kitchen" at night for free cupcakes when hungry. The beds are comfy, good, free wifi and satellite tv has many options.

Yelp
Sanctuary amid the bustling streets of Glasgow. Very quiet and peaceful amid convenience to everything you could possibly desire in a holiday. Love is in the details for guest comfort. Thick bath sheets, down comforters. Easy temperature control in rooms. Safe access. 24 hour reception. Well appointed breakfast lounge. Complimentary cupcakes. Q car park a few blocks away is clean and well monitored. Organic food cooperative, restaurants and coffee houses within steps.

Yelp
Reminds me of a trendy youth hostel, although it serves some business customers. Prefab bathroom, no closets (short hanging bars stick out from wall), no carpet, fairly spartan but with some bright colorful touches. Dining room is nice and convenient on the same floor

Yelp
I stayed here on a Friday night after a gig for a friend and I. We got a very warm welcome (once we had located reception) and the room was lovely and bright while being warm and cosy too. I think the free Smarties and the French Fancies that came with our coffee helped too :) The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was clean and had amazing Arran Aromatics soaps and shampoo etc. The sky+ was great in the morning while we nursed our hangovers as was the self service breakfast! I would highly recommend staying here if you have a couple nights in Glasgow, friendly, warm, clean and very central.

Yelp
This is an outstanding location and facility. The grasshopper was a wonderful place to stay when exploring Glasgow. if your arrive by train it is especially convenient to the central train stations and in the midst of all the shopping and splendid restaurants. The most challenging part of staying here is choosing between eating in, or which restaurant a short walk away. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. everyone make you feel at home. Sean can find anything for you, had great recommendations for just about everything! their tag line is "you never left home..." and they go out of their way to make you feel that way. plates of cupcakes and short bread available for snacks at all times of day, fruit, in room coffee and tea, bottles of water and smarties in every room. if you don't see something, just ask they probably have it for you. The rooms are very comfortable. bath room worked perfectly and it all seemed very new. large flat screen tv with sky plus, awesome. free WiFi that works everywhere. it would be hard to find something to ask for. breakfast was wonderful with both cold and hot options. amazing breads, fresh tea or coffee, a selection of juice. hard to beat and all available in a friendly, family like atmosphere. this is truly a great place, I will most certainly return.

Yelp
I wish I could give this hotel more than just five stars. Everything about it was top notch, and at a great value. We spent a long weekend here after exploring Oban, Mull, and Iona. We were greeted warmly by staff at reception, who helped us figure out how we could have mid-vacation laundry done (and the service she recommended had it back in an astonishing 3 hours). The hotel is well-appointed. We'd read in some of the reviews that the rooms were small so we booked a "deluxe double" for just a bit more, and found it spacious. We got glimpses of the smaller rooms, and they would have been plenty big as well. The hotel is centrally located, and surprisingly quiet for being over the central train station. Oh and there are cupcakes whenever you want. Really, don't even think about staying anyplace else if you can book a room at Grasshoppers.

Yelp
I loved staying at the Grasshopper Hotel for 3 days of exploring Glasgow: it's centrally located and if you like a very clean, charmingly done small room with down duvets and pillows enrobed in crisp white cotton--this is for you! The bathrooms are also small and charmingly architectural, and impeccably clean as well as attractive. Every room and hallway is adorned with lovely artwork. Additionally, the staff is wonderfully friendly and make you feel like a family-guest; the morning breakfast room is welcoming, with very good food. I'd return to Glasgow just to be able to stay here again! The rooms facing the glass top of the train station offer quiet and lovely evening light. Also, the artwork is original, local, and part of the hotel owner's personal collection (he befriended the artists when designing the hotel). Be sure to get a detailed description about how to enter this tucked-away boutique hotel! It's a bit tricky because the hotel's on the sixth floor of the building, but it's worth the small confusion in finding the way up there!
