I've been wanting to visit this place for years and finally had the opportunity this year. Admissions is free, they do have donation boxes and QR codes posted if you would like to donate. The place has a lot of videos and interactive screens/tablets. It's worth stopping in and at least seeing once in your life in my personal opinion.

Neat educational spot that can be explored in an hour. Amazing to see how many shipwrecks took place in the area. The interactive touchscreen map really put the scope into perspective. Admission is free and they do accept donations.

Great museum! Not too large, but that's what makes it special. There is so much information, but not so much that it's overwhelming. I loved the interactive exhibits. My children loved it. They also did a special scavenger hunt for the younger ones! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended!

Overall for as big as the building is, exhibit was smaller than expected however the items that are there are very neat and they all have a nice read to them. Crazy to think where those items came from.
Worth a trip from nags head maybe not, but if you’re in the area it’s worth a visit.

Went here for a break from the beach. My kids all enjoyed it. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids to complete which engaged them into the exhibits. Place was pretty interesting and it was free.
If you’re down that way you should stop in and check it out.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum. It was educational without too much detail (after all we are on vacation lol)

This is a very cool place. It’s a small museum with a gift shop and it’s free and it’s been renovated in the last year. I mean, if you’re in Hatteras and it’s raining it’s something to enjoy or if you just need a break from the sun highly recommend checking it out. Got a lot of cool information there also.
