This Is the Best Season to Visit the National Parks in the American West

"I stayed at The Radcliffe, a new boutique hotel in the Moab area, and appreciated its minimalist rooms designed for outdoorsy go-getters; the staff can help arrange biking, climbing, canyoneering, and hot-air-balloon adventures." - Maya Silver

This was sold as an elevated Gravity Haus 'experience' and we were definitely oversold for this location. The decor is nice and it photographs well, but it's a converted roadside motel on a busy highway with a hot tub and pool in the middle of the parking lot. It had a broken elevator, disintegrated grout in the shower and rotten wood trim in the bathroom. Plus the bathroom floor had toothpaste splattered from previous guests. The room was terribly noisy from the traffic and only having an exterior side entrance available cheapened the whole stay. The thought of exiting via the stairwell to the main road sidewalk, rounding the building and then crossing a dirty parking lot to get to the hot tub? Well, we never bothered… They highlight their onsite cafe but it was closed the whole time we were there (apparently permanently) and there was rarely anyone at the front desk. Amenities say that breakfast is available - but not when the cafe isn’t operating. The ’smart’ TV didn’t work with the remote they provided, and the men’s room faucet in the lobby didn’t work. Dirty shoes were left in the hallway by other guests and we had staff knocking on our door to see if they were ours - after they had been there for 3 days! This was just not a nice place to stay and I can say I’ll never choose a Gravity Haus property again. I was willing to pay a premium for what I thought would be a elevated experience in Moab, but in the end I wish I would have stayed in a newer, nicer, and less expensive hotel further up the road and away from traffic (Element or Field Station for example). PS I never write reviews, but I’m hoping to spare others from similar disappointment.

Loved my stay at Gravity Haus Moab! The hotel is very centrally located - across the street from a grocery store and pizza place, 10 minutes walk to the center of Moab, and about 20 minutes drive to Arches National Park. The rooms are so spacious and have everything you could need, including bike storage. Didn’t have a chance to try out the pool but it looked great. Would highly recommend staying here on your trip to Moab!

Great staff and room was super clean. A few negative points: - Our room was right along the road and the traffic is pretty dense. If you book there, ask for a room with the parking lot view… Far better if you are looking for a quieter room. - pet friendly hotel, which is great. However $50/ night? Really? This is far too much, especially when there is no additional feature in the room for the dog. - we were considering going to the pool/hot tub area, but honestly the idea of crossing the public parking lot to go there, in additional to the nearby road work and dust…was too much. - only one elevator. It can get pretty jammed depending on the time of the day. Keep that in mind if you cannot use the staircase. Overall: great location next to the city center, great staff and very clean place, a few down features to take into consideration. Clearly not the place to stay at if you are looking for a quiet environment.

Nice place, the parking lot is a little small so parking can be limited depending on what time of year you come. The elevator was unfortunately broken during our stay but they only have 3 floors so it wasn’t terrible. The restaurant is also closed, not sure why but they have complimentary coffee in the morning in the lobby which is nice. The rooms are nicely sized, very modern looking. I love that they have a vanity outside of the bathroom, it makes getting ready in the morning quicker. Overall, a good place to stay!

Google
For our famiily of 4 the suite on the 2nd floor was a great layout but the road noise was so bad throughout the night that we won't be back. Even earplugs didn't help. In addition, there was no gym, could not use member bike tokens, no cafe/restaurant onsite, and the pool and hot tubs, while nice were in a parking lot. The location was great and we could easily get to Arches and Canyonlands, but between the road noise, the sounds from the people walking above us, and the air conditioning noise kicking on and off, we got very little sleep.

I loved this hotel! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was one of the best designed rooms I've ever stayed in. We were on the third floor overlooking the parking lot and it was quiet. Having a small sink inside the bathroom and a larger one outside the bathroom made it so easy for two people to get ready. The bathroom had a great shower, fluffy towels, and nice toiletries. Other amenities included a hairdryer, clothes steamer, safe, coffee packets and a small refrigerator. The bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. We did not have our room cleaned during our stay, so can't speak to that but when we asked for extra towels, they immediately accommodated us. The pool and spa area were clean and we loved the swinging chairs and lounge area. The filtered water and free electrolytes were an added bonus and were much appreciated. The hotel is located within an easy walk of the downtown area and if you have a car, parking was easy. For food, there is Expedition Eighty8 in the lobby where you can get breakfast and the best burgers.

Google
Loved staying here. It was our first time in Moab and glad we had the experience of staying with gravity haus. We’re not big outdoors people and only went to arches twice during our stay so the pool and hot tub and hang out areas by the pool were key for us. Everything was so clean and convenient. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Would stay here again.

Cleanest, nicest accommodation we’ve stayed in for years! The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were just right. The entire experience from check in to departure was seamless. Not to mention the price, which really made it all that much better. We were not familiar with Gravity Haus, but we’ll watch for the brand on our travels from now on.

Yelp
I came down to Moab to do some hikes and booked a room here. Great customer service; the place was clean and is well centered with many restaurants. They have a restaurant where you can grab a delicious meal.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Large rooms comfortable beds great shower. Also pet friendly. Road noise gets one star off for how close to the road rooms are, we moved across the hall to the parking lot side of the building solved the noise problem.

Yelp
Formerly Radcliffe Hotel, they are currently transitioning to a Gravity Haus property! Dog friendly, with Purple-brand pet beds at the front desk to keep your four-legged family members happy! A middle of the road adventure hotel with a small restaurant serving Mediterranean style breakfast and boxed lunches. The rooms are spacious and even offer bike racks in room with a cooler to take along on your adventures. We also found a sound machine in ours which was a nice touch. There's even an in-house gear store for all of your adventuring needs. Don't miss the famous Gravity Haus coffee served each morning in the restaurant! Only downsides: no closet space and all bath products are coconut making it a no-go for me (with a tree nut allergy)

Yelp
Still owned by Radcliffe but now branded as Gravity Haus. Radcliffe had great reviews but I was nervous after booking and then seeing reviews for Gravity Haus. Can't for the life of me understand the poor ratings here. Stopped in for the night on the way to Denver and we couldn't be more pleased. Clean room(passed black light), great shower, very friendly staff! I mentioned it was my daughter's birthday under "requests" in my reservation and they left us a nice happy birthday note and a couple of smore making kits. Also, the staff recommended taking the scenic route 128 through the Colorado river which connects us back to the i70 for Denver. Google and Waze didn't even have this route as an option, we would've never known! There are rooms that face the main road/highway through town so maybe there could be some noise pollution? But we requested a room facing the parking lot and had no issue. Definitely our go to next time we come through town! Thanks Gravity Haus Team for a great stay!

Yelp
The room had an extremely strong odor when I walked into the room. It hit me like a sack of bricks. I called the front desk and asked about it, and she said it was the cleaning supplies that were used and to open the window and let it air out. I opened the window and left for dinner. When I came back, the smell was equally as strong. I told the girl at the front desk I could not stay in the room because the smell was so strong and it was triggering a migraine. I asked to switch rooms and she told me all the rooms smell that way, but if I wanted to check out I could have the second night refunded. I opted to leave the hotel, since the smell made the room impossible to stay in. When I left, I asked for confirmation that I could have a refund of the second night and the girl at the front desk refused to give me anything in writing. When I reached out to Hotels.com and they tried to initiate a refund, the hotel told them they would not refund me anything. The customer service was terrible, the hotel room was unacceptable and I will not ever stay here or recommend that anyone stay here. There is no reason for such strong deodorizers in the room unless you are trying to cover up something else.

Yelp
Solid place if you need a mostly clean and hip-presenting place to crash. Bed was comfortable and curtains blocked light well. But generally mid hospitality and okay amenities. Maybe the price point is just the expense of Moab, but we expected more basic amenities (1 microwave per floor? Coffee shop is actually closed down). We booked a King room, for the price, some details weren't super there. The small fridge opens up the opposite way of the cabinet it's in, making it a little annoying to get in to. Bathrooms are clean, but a little on the small side. Floor by the entry was was dirty and sticky, although you wouldn't tell by looking. Wiping the floor with wet wipes came back grey/black. Our room was facing the street, which isn't just downtown main street, it's the highway. So if you love to hear semi truck engine breaking and loud motorcycles into the night and early morning, the street side is for you. Otherwise, people with sensory issues or disabilities, this place may not be for you. (The lobby had an overwhelming artificial scent and when we asked for a fragrance free room, they said they couldn't accommodate because they put the fragrance into the HVAC or circulation system).
