This is a quaint location! It feels like walking into a home in the 1850's, but it is fine dining. The oatmeal pie was fantastic and the candied apple was quite the surprise! The staff were friendly, calm, yet funny. We had a good time and can't wait for the snow to go away so they are open more often.

We stayed at the Alaskan Inn 2 blocks from here and everyone couldn't stop reccomending this place a 5 course meal $25-35 a person and made from scratch with fresh local ingredients. Its well worth it and ask about the story of the place it just adds to how amazing that place is! They do take reservations but we didn't have one. They heard it was our anniversary and put candles in our desserts. We had like 3-4 waitresses always making sure we were good. This place truly is a one of those hole in the wall treasures and we will surely be coming back with friends and family!

The drive here is beautiful. The location is outstanding with a stream by the parking lot. Building is full of charm and history. Our server, Jody, was amazing!!! We ordered zucchini appetizers, dinner was prime rib and NY strip with grilled shrimp, with choice of fruit cup with raspberry sherbet or tomato juice, salad or homemade soup, baked potato. Desert was cranberry apple crisp...you could taste the cinnamon, hint of tartness from cranberry and vanilla with ice cream, last desert was brownie ale mode . Let's not forget the rolls and cinnamon rolls too. A must visit, with a repeat visit in our future. Amazing!!

Google
The food was delicious, but what made this place extra special was the kind and attentive staff and their 1930s formal ambiance (think Titanic dining room) building tucked away within Ogden canyon. We took my 92 year old grandma and she accidentally spilled her small cup of honey mustard on her plate. Our wonderful server overheard her saying how much she hates honey mustard... Well, without even being asked, she came over to our table and offered to replate everything so the sauce wouldn't touch her food. Really, really really, wonderful staff. A wonderful gem in Ogden canyon to eat a very nice meal!

Google
Nestled next to the wall of the Ogden canyon it's a surprisingly elegant place to dine. It has a great atmosphere with quite jazz playing in the background and very nice dining areas. It was a full 4 course meal with a starter, soup or salad, dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls, entree, and a good selection of dessert. The food was good, especially the cheddar potato soup. The halibut was well seasoned and not overcooked. I would say the prices are on the lower to mid range of what I am accustom to for this level of dining. $27 for New York strip and halibut. The service was outstanding. Not only pleasant, but if we had a need it was addressed before we could ask.

This gem takes you to a time of years passed. The ambience is wonderful. The food is delicious and fair priced. The staff was attentive and kind. Their Christmas decorations were incredible. One of my husbands and my favorite local restaurants.

Google
This place is a hidden gem. We are so happy a good friend recommended it. This is a true 5 course meal and well worth the price. I had the halibut and it was AMAZING. My husband had the filet and it was tender w great flavor. The cinnamon rolls were great, the husband got a 1/2 dozen to go.

Google
The service was excellent. The ambiance was like going back in time 100 years. The food was good, but a little over priced. I would plan on making an evening of this place as each meal comes with palette cleanser fruit cup or tomato juice, rolls, salad, full side, and dessert with entree.

Cody B.

Yelp
Went here for a work dinner recently for the first time. They were very accommodating, and really treated our group well. I got a filet steak, and it was honestly kind of average. The salad was good, rolls were good, didn't love the fruit cup or tomato juice. Steak was not super flavorful, but I've had worse.

Yelp
We enjoyed dining here on its last open night before the owners retired. The former summer home is a lovely example of art and crafts architecture. Unfortunately some of the charm has been lost over the years. However, the main dining room has been mostly untouched since it was built in 1912. Gray Cliff Lodge could easily be restored to its former glory. The food was excellent, focusing on old fashioned home cooking entrees like prime rib and trout. Each entree comes as a 5 course meal. It included a small appetizer, soup or salad, delicious rolls and dessert. The beautiful setting in Ogden Canyon is the icing on the cake, so to speak. Hopefully someone with vision will restore this historical treasure and continue to provide the wonderful dining experience people have enjoyed for the last 70 years.

Yelp
This place has enormous potential. Large space, beautiful home style look, right in the canyon on the river, just amazing. The food, decor, and dated vibe was not great unfortunately. It is odd to me that you come into the restaurant from what looks like the front but it takes you into a side room. My wife and I stood there for close to 5 minutes before I went into the dinning room to talk to someone about being seated. We got a free appetizer for checking in on Yelp so we ordered the deep fried mushrooms. Never had something like this and I enjoyed them. I would have eaten all of them but the last one had a large grey hair on it. I ordered the Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon. My wife the Halibut and Chicken. A pricey plate but worth it if it is cooked right. Before the steak arrived, we each got several starters and sides with the meal. They start out with either a fruit cup or tomato juice. A very odd starter option. The fruit cup seems to just be a fruit medley out of the can with a scoop of ice-cream on top. The presentation of which looked like I was back at my grandmothers house, small little platter dishes with a weird mix of food. I do like Tomato juice and happy I ordered it because it helps regularize digestion, a sign of the issues ahead. THEN, after the first starter, you get a side of soup or salad. The salad was pretty good, tasted fresh and had some weight to it. The soup was beef stew and tasted exactly like the can from the grocery isle. I only had a few sips because I still had an entire steak and fries coming my way. THEN, they brought a basket of dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls. The dinner rolls were very good. Warm and soft, just like my grandma used to make. The cinnamon rolls were very dry and crumbly. Very disappointing due to it being the reason we came, they also are mentioned on their sign out front. These things should slap me in the face with pleasure. There is no glaze on them! You need something to keep in the moisture and add some flavor. Maybe we caught them on a bad night or we got the rolls they made the day before, just not ideal. FINALLY, the main course arrived. The Steak was very large and very tasty looking. The Bacon was a thick cut that wrapped the entire edge. I am a slight pink kind of guy, I don't like it super raw. Because of this, I was not able to eat all of it. The center was blood red, very raw. My wife ordered the halibut and grilled chicken. She loved the taste of the halibut but the center was cold. The chicken was very low par. It seemed to be a few days old and tasted a bit off. When we brought it up to the waitress, she apologized and mentioned that the chef was new. I don't understand the leaf of lettuce and orange wedge on each dish. It brings the look and feel down to the level of a diner. Get rid of them and we are headed in the right direction. Over all, we wont be coming back here but that doesn't mean this place does not have massive potential. I really hope someone sees a vision and takes the reins. For now, it is not worth the price and the strange food and order they serve them really did a number on our stomachs. Thank goodness for the tomato juice.

Yelp
We were visiting Utah over the Christmas holidays and luckily came across Gray Cliff Lodge. They were so incredibly hospitable and sweet. Our meals were absolutely delicious and the desserts were so memorable. The restaurant is charming with a historic delight and they staff could not be more charming. We loved it.

Yelp
If you've been missing the Gray Cliff Lodge restaurant like I have all my life, this is something to experience. The building itself has been around since 1912, but a full time restaurant since the late 50's. Up Ogden Canyon, the restaurant is full of historic charm. Even a ski museum. Okay. Let's eat. Everything on the menu is made from scratch with recipes that date back decades. If you're lucky, Jody will great you and help you find your table. Oh, she's one of the owners. Their house specifically is fresh mountain trout. As an appetizer, we ordered the breaded zucchini strips. Bet you can eat more than one. Outstanding! Dinner is all inclusive with fruit cocktail or tomato juice to start out. Then the salad or homemade soup of the day. Fresh cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls. Then the main course. I had the chicken breast AND trout. I'm not a trout fan, but loved every bite. My date ordered the prime rib and it was tender and very well seasoned. We both had baked potatoes, no microwave spuds here. And dessert is part of the deal and there are more than six different choices. We had the carrot cake, and the oatmeal pie. The pie being an old family recipe, that if they told you how they made it, they'd have to drown you in the Ogden River right outside. The wine list is basic and well priced and the service staff was on point all evening. Looking for something to try that's truly an adventure? Then try the Gray Cliff Lodge Restaurant in Ogden Canyon.

Yelp
We ate here while in Ogden canyon and it's not bad a bit more pricey but we felt... out of place we were the only young couple there at that time and when we sat down it even said senior menu. So needless to say it wasn't for us but maybe in our retirement!

Robert C.

Yelp
Amazing old school restaurant in the best 5 course meal tradition. Ordered the trout which was exceptional and it came with wild rice homemade tartar sauce, salad with homemade dressing and desert! (Don't forget to order the fruit cup & appetizers) Service was fantastic, efficient but not obtrusive, very genial, and the owner was so welcoming and knew what you needed. Hidden Gem.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
The food was very good and plentiful. The staff was very efficient but unfortunately none of them smiled. It was very uncomfortable and we really didn't feel welcome. They were doing road work and so I tried to make small talk with our server and I asked her " Is the road work hurting you guys" she said snarky " are you kidding,? look at this place. (They were a little busy) but it brings it back to not welcomed. I will not be back.

Yelp
I was looking for a really nice place to go for our anniversary dinner, I found Gray Cliff online the dishes and menu from the website looked fantastic. The dinner is a full course meal, the first course was either tomato juice or a fruit dish. I opted for the fruit which consisted of 'canned fruit cocktail swimming in the canned syrup with a single Club cracker and a micro scoop of sorbet' in the dish- IMO not edible or desirable. The salad was 50/50 wilted lettuce- but the ranch dressing was housemade and fantastic (for the bites of fresh lettuce). Dinner Roll/ Cinnamon Roll was very "firm" and not fresh, not edible. The prime rib tasted amazing, however, it was served in a plate of au jus making it more of a soup-ish feel. This made cutting it very difficult without the risk of splashing over the edge and hopefully not into your lap. The bowl of veggies was also placed into this hot soup plate of au jus and so was a bowl of horseradish. WHY? The french fries were subpar and left for the trash can. Moving on - The desert was ok, we had the cheesecake (It was a great talking point and joke while we decided if is this from Costco? with ice cream raspberry syrup drizzled on top?) and the brownie ala mode- Meh. If they would really find their niche in each dish they offer it would be worth the well over $100 price point for 2 to dine here. (fresh fruit, lettuce, or rolls cannot add too much to the overall cost- can it?) The setting is very historical, musky, and full of crooked paintings and lace. It was trending for a much older crowd, we are in our 40's and the youngest ones there. The ski museum was interesting to read and see. Some fresh paint, new carpet, and either replace or wash the lace window covering for a more appealing smell to eat dinner in would be recommended. With dishes exceeding $60 per person, I also would love to see a table setting without the bright-colored paper placemats that we find at Denny's (let's save those for the kiddies) If I could go back and just order the steak, I would in a heartbeat- the rest of the meal was just not worth it.

Crystal P.

Yelp
Quaint old home turned restaurant. In need of some update but clean and pleasant. Food was very good. I had trout their specialty and was tasty. Sides were good husband had filet mignon and was very good. Prices seen high but all sides, salad and desert come with. Great homemade desserts. Odd starter of tomato juice or fruit cup with sherbet-we asked this is a traditional palate cleanser before meal which has been a thing since they first opened over 75 years ago. Try this place it's worth the price.

Heather S.

Yelp
Fun little spot to eat -The dinner prices are for a 4 course meal. -Decor reminded me of a cozy cabin. -Fruit cup did taste like the packaged kind but it was sweet and tasty with the ice cream on top of it. -The cinnamon type rolls are really good if you eat them while they're hot. -The salad is just a regular salad, nothing too special. -The stir fry vegetable medley came out pretty hot. It tastes very simple, moist, and the melted cheese on top added a nice flavor to it. -There's a lot of desserts to choose from. I tried the banana creme pie, oatmeal pie, carrot cake, and bread pudding. All the desserts were flavorful. -Staff was nice and friendly.

John J.

Yelp
Beautiful drive into the mountains and a scenic restaurant with high quality dishes, hot and tasty and excellent. The atmosphere was a combination of classic and rustic. It was a great meal to eat slowly and enjoy the company. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will do it again.

Yelp
Nice place in the heart of Ogden Canyon , the service is great, the atmosphere is amazing, the history of it is pretty cool. The food is delicious especially the Prime Rib & Halibut

David S.

Yelp
1st Time here! We knew where we were going, this is not brand new! This is old school that what you need! We knew what we where getting! No surprises! Got the owners Wife for our waitress, she is blunt and to the point! That is what old school is! Don't sugar coat it! Put still courteous and got whatever we wanted! The reviews are mixed on what they serve, we knew what we where getting and it was on time, plenty of it and the location is amazing! Our Steaks where cooked perfect! Service was great, got seated on time, with reservations. We will come here again! Thanks!

Cathy M.

Yelp
Great place! The trout is always delicious, service is very good, and the porch has a very relaxed & inviting ambience. Like having a Sunday dinner with friends and family!

Emily K.

Yelp
The prices seem expensive but the food is delicious and every dinner comes with two appetizers, a side, and a desert, plus fresh baked plain and cinnamon rolls for the table. I had the New York steak and it was delicious. They were down one staff member and still managed to keep up good service. Note that they DO take credit cards!

Rae R.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and service! The food was amazing! We got the zucchini appetizer and it was great. The steaks were incredible!

Christine B.

Yelp
One of the highlights of our ski trip to Utah.... Jody the owner (and our server) was incredible...the food was incredible...(her husband the chef)......the ambiance was incredible too, OLD SCHOOL CHARM! This is a hidden gem, and anyone traveling to ski Snow Basin should eat here.....absolutely unbelievable food and service!!!!!! Thanks for the to-go pie Jody!!! C&C Buhrman NH Ps. Alaskan Inn nearby was great too, cooked to order breakfast was included and delivered to our cabin each morning!

Sandie G.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Vibe is very much homey/vintage cottage style . Jodi the waitress (and owner?) gives a little bit of sass and definitely makes sure you are well taken care of. Food is delicious and affordable. Each meal includes appetizers, fresh made breads, sides and dessert. I got the trout which Jodi de-bones at the table. It was simple and well made. I'm pretty sure I ate the whole thing in less than 5 minutes. The rest of my party all enjoyed their food - halibut, fried chicken, t-bone steak. The dessert was amazing as well and all home-made. We got banana cream pie, brownie, strawberry-rhubarb pie, and oatmeal pie. As others have mentioned there's also a cute ski "museum" to walk through as well! We definitely plan on coming again!

Lauren H.

Yelp
Friday night, first to arrive. My first time here. Quaint old house turned into a restaurant. Nestled back in the canyon. Seated right away. Ordered off the senior menu. I had the prime rib, backed potatoe and salad. Food was good, have had better. Friend had the trout. She said it was mushy and old tasting. Peach cobbler and brownie for dessert was tasty. A bit pricey for the meal. Didn't care for cinnamon rolls with my meal. Very stale tasting. Something was lacking in the place.... may be awhile before I come back.

Jen J.

Yelp
I loved this place. It reminded me of restaurants I went to as a kid. Great food and wonderful service. Will go again and again!

Jann M.

Yelp
We went for Easter Brunch. I remember going there as a little girl and I guess I wanted some nostalgia along with Brunch. It's a cute little place that I'm sure used to be someone's home. It sits right next to the river and it is like stepping back in time. It was a buffet but it was so small and really wasn't adequate for the number of people that were in attendance. It was one small stainless steel cart and had very interesting food. For example Chicken Gizzards, Oatmeal and other food that maybe people who are not my age eat. I had lots of hashbrowns, creme puffs, fresh fruit and some really good sausage. The price was right at only $15 per person and my Mom had a great time seeing people she hadn't seen in years. That was the nostalgia I was talking about.

Mike C.

Yelp
Had a great dining experience this Thanksgiving Day (2022) at the Gray Cliffs Lodge. The buffet was very nicely laid out, with great food. The service was top notch. Overall a great dining experience!!

Roy C.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere incredible brunch great wait staff and added affordable cost I give it five stars

Anthony M.

Yelp
As noted, dated as in 1960s supper club dated. The meals have include the weird fruit cup, sides, and dessert. The only component of the meal that felt satisfying was the bottle of wine. The proteins are reasonable prepared but the entree plates are spartan and ordinary.

Courtney R.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the (super) short drive from Ogden. The scenic drive is absolutely gorgeous, taking you past a waterfall and through mountain trees. The restaurant itself is in an beautiful historic home. We loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. We chose to sit in the sunroom, which was full of plants and local art. The food was amazing and a great deal for the price (it includes salad/soup, breads, fruit& sorbet cup, main course and dessert). We fell in love with one of the paintings and decided to come back the next day to purchase it. Unfortunately we didn't take note of the restaurant hours and they were closed. We called the google number and the owner answered & met us there in 20 minutes so we could purchase it- talk about amazing customer service. He was incredibly kind and friendly. We highly recommend checking out this beautiful restaurant when in Ogden.

Amber L.

Yelp
It's a cute average brunch in the canyon. Food was okay. Service was okay. It's a cute place though with lots of history.

Victoria M.

Yelp
My cousin and I came to visit for their Sunday Brunch. This place is cute and cozy. The service is pretty good too. I have a few gripes though since I have to agree with what other reviewers have stated. This place could really be a gem with some changes. For instance - it's super outdated and could use a renovation, updated vintage decor and deep cleaning. I didn't notice until I was waiting to leave in the waiting area how outdated and dingy it looked. The dining area isn't so bad, but still they could update the decor a bit and food selection wasn't the best. It just tasted like normal buffet items that are comparable to Golden Corral, and that's not a good thing. I'd love to come again since I definitely dig the feel and ambiance. Also, the bathroom has a shower with some pink lace curtains that kind of creeped me out - but I'm petty so it could be just me. The desserts also surprised me - in a good way! So that was a big plus for me since I'm not big on desserts. My favorite in particular was their cocoa brûlée. My cousin says the pumpkin one was too sweet.

Melyda C.

Yelp
I'm so glad we found this place the food is delicious, the service is exceptional. Everyone is so nice specially Jody. We will definitely come back.

Morton B.

Yelp
This place is great. It's like eating dinner at Grandmas place. We had dinner with family and we're very happy we went. We will be coming back. The food is great and the staff was very pleasant. I highly recommend Gray Cliff Lodge.

Amy Scott C.

Yelp
Extremely outdated and rundown. We went for sunday brunch, a small crusty buffet was the only option. At $15-adults and for $8-children it was definitely not worth the price!

Kensi S.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere of this place! So nice for any time of day meal. We stopped for early dinner after skiing - perfection. Has a cute ski museum attached to look at the history of the near by slopes

Denny W.

Yelp
Based on the menu and the prices, I was expecting a nice semi-formal restaurant. I was surprised how run down the place looked. The drive to the restaurant was very pretty, winding through Ogden canyon. I only wish we had stopped further down at the Timbermine. I give 2 stars as the menu prices do include a dessert, however, I did not expect to start my dinner with canned fruit cocktail. Yes, you read that right, canned fruit cocktail just like my mom served me when I was a kid. They did too it with a little scoop of sherbet to give it that sophisticated touch. Strike one The canned fruit cocktail was followed by a salad which looked just like the stuff you get from a bagged salad mix at Walmart, with a slice of cucumber and croutons thrown on top. Strike two I ordered the the lamb chops which is apparently the specialty of the house. They were decent enough but very small and not terribly filling. My wife ordered the steak and halibut combo. The halibut was tasty. She ordered her steak cooked medium and it was just shy of well-done and not of the highest quality. Strike three Needless to say, we were disappointed. The cost for all of this? $71 BEFORE the tip and we only drank water! This was a $35 meal max.

Lifewater A.

Yelp
A very fancy restaurant atmosphere. But not my favorite. I ordered stake.. It has too much pepper corns. I couldn't eat it at all. I felt like I wasted my $30. It's not worth it.

Steve M.

Yelp
What a great experience...from the time we opened the door to walk in until the moment we left. The ladies who waited on us were absolute gems. You could tell they took pride in their work. It was a 5 course meal starting with a fruit cup or tomato juice. Course 2 was a salad or soup. Course 3 was the main entree and course 4 was dessert...all this was built in to the price of the meal. Oh yeah...course 5 was the delicious hot cinnamon roles they served with the salad. The meal was fantastic! I ordered the prime rib which was cooked just the way I like it. I wasn't sure what to order for dessert...banana cream pie or peach cobbler. I went with the peach cobbler but because I was so indecisive, our wonderful server brought a slice of the banana cream pie for our entire table to try!! We were spoiled for sure. I will stop on next time I'm in Ogden and revisit this restaraunt. The great service, outstanding views and good food make this one of Ogdens hidden treasures.

Mike T.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Great attentive service with happy smiles. The food was comfort food of the highest quality. Wife and I enjoyed every food item we tried.

Kelly F.

Yelp
The atmosphere is quaint, the ski museum is cool, the service is good, but the food was terrible. We were there on a Thursday (April 27). I ordered the trout and my husband ordered the prime rib. Both were awful. The meal started with a palate cleanser of canned fruit cocktail. I had the selection of pea soup instead of salad. I wasn't happy with it as it tasted pretty watery. My main dish, the trout, was a mushy consistency and had no flavor. The prime rib tasted like a cheap piece of meat. It was flavorless and dry. Particularly, the fat was not rendered so I don't believe it was correctly slow-roasted. I had to saw my knife through the meat just to cut a piece. Most Prime ribs are just so tender and soft, but not this one. I wouldn't recommend this place because of the low quality food and the bad preparations.

Yelp
Took my girl to Gray Cliff Lodge Restaurant for her birthday. We are staying at the Wolf Lodge Resorts in Eden, Utah and we wanted to find a good spot to eat and Yelp didn't disappoint at all. The restaurant was very easy, parking was very adequate, and the restaurant was easy to find and we was seated quickly to our table. We had a coupon to get two cocktails for 7.50. We asked the waitress if we could use the coupon towards a bottle of Ste. Chapelle, Chardonnay and the head waitress, which turned out to be the owner said that would be perfectly fine. The waitress also bought us complimentary Dinner Rolls and Cinnamon Rolls that she said was made from scratch and the cinnamon rolls were so Yummy. Overall, this was a Great Way to start out dinner. I ordered the 16oz T-Bone Steak, My girl ordered the New York Steak, and my step daughter ordered the Combination plate which consisted of a Fried Chicken Breast with Halibut Fish. My side items consisted of the Cream of Chicken, Wild Rice and French Fries, and a Chocolate Sundae for dessert. My girl got the baked Potato, House Salad, and Oatmeal Apple Pie with her meal and my daughter said she wanted tomato juice with French Fries with Oatmeal Apple Pie. The steak was absolutely delicious. Very tasteful and tender. My girl loved her food so much that she couldn't finish it. The Food was so good to me that I didn't want to even finish my meal so I could have some leftovers to eat on later so I could savor the taste again. The waitress highly recommended the Crispy Deep Fried Chicken and told us the batter was made with cinnamon that is used to make the Cinnamon Rolls and my daughter ordered the chicken plate and she shared some of the chicken with me and my girl and the Chicken was probably some of the BEST fried chicken I have ever tasted from a restaurant in UTAH. The next time I go I will definitely get me a plate of that delicious chicken! The dessert just ended the night they way it started. Out of this World! We ordered dessert to go and it came with the meal. They brought my girl dessert out with a candle but it was one of those candles that would light up again after she blew out the candle. Getting dessert included with our meal makes this restaurant one of the best dining experiences I have had in Utah. The people was very nice, very attentive, explained the menu, and the food was to Die For. I will definitely be trying out this restaurant in the future!

Don W.

Yelp
Excellent dinner. Lamb chops, which is their specialty, was excellent . asked for rare and it was. That is a rarity! my wife had filet mignon and it was perfect. The final was the free desert, strawberry rhubarb which was great finish. We had leftovers for breakfast and lunch. 3 meals for two for a hundred bucks. Do it!

Nicole N.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here. The setting is beautiful. The staff is attentive and friendly. The prices were very reasonable and the place exudes vintage panache offering tomato juice and fruit cocktail with each meal. So charming. The food is all made onsite and is delicious. The cinnamon rolls that come with the meal are to die for. Their oatmeal pie was just great. I can't wait to go back! I am definitely bringing out of town guests too to try a little taste of Utah.

M B.

Yelp
We found this 4 years ago skiing Snowbasin and come out of our way to go back. We are from Cleveland and can't wait to go back and eat there again. Signature cinnamon rolls fills the air. 1912 antique property is unique Absolutely wonderful food. Jody a owner is the server too. Real pride in this place. Recommend the fresh river caught tableside-fde-boned trout. It will make you come back

Johanna W.

Yelp
This is the best food and experience I have had this entire trip to the Salt Lake City area. It's just a must do! I had the mountain trout, caught that day! Best zucchini sticks EVER! Make sure you save room for the house special dessert, warm oatmeal pie with ice cream!

Tony C.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing place to have dinner! The food was delicious! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And the price was well worth it! The home made deserts were to die for. I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, if you can, make a reservation for by the fire for the ultimate experience on a cold winter evening

Oz S.

Yelp
Excellent food on the Sunday brunch buffet. Took my wife here for Valentine's Day and was pleased with the atmosphere, the staff and the food.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Cool looking restaurant but it seemed pretty run down. The building is old so that is to be excepted. The service was fabulous and quick. My review is for the food. It was a lot of food but the quality was not the best. I got the fried chicken with fruit cup, green salad, and a baked potato. The fruit cup was just fruit cocktail, I was expecting fresh fruit. It kind of reminded me of school lunches. The green salad was fine as was the baked potato. I like ranch on my baked potatoes instead of sour cream and they remembered which most places don't. The fried chicken was huge and that made it hard to eat without looking like you have no manners. It had an intense orange flavor which was not what I want in a fried chicken. My hubby got the prime rib and he wasn't very impressed with it. He said the rice he got as a side was decent but a little dry. We were here for a surprise birthday dinner and there were quite a few of us. The staff was very attentive and got all our orders out as close together as possible and nothing was delivered wrong. The way the place is now I won't be going back. The food just wasn't worth it for me and that is the only reason I return to restaurants. If they could revamp their menu and have better quality food instead of huge quantities than I would give it another shot. I really hope they do this because the location is amazing and even though the building is old it is still a cool place.

Yelp
Went there after getting a Groupon - probably would have never heard of it otherwise. Looking at the clientel, most were quite old, but every younger couple we saw there had a Groupon with them, so I imagine it helped them introduce the place to a new group. As for the review: This place (like several in Ogden - not sure why) is stuck in a different era - in this case, the late 1940's or 50's. I don't have a problem with this, as it means a lot of food included in the basic menu prices. The restaurant is in the old Dee family summer home, and has that kind of feel. It's quaint. The bar is ringed by old snow skis and posters (there was no bartender on duty the night we went). The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and eager to please ("Now for dessert, and you can't say no because it's included!") For your entree price you get cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls, a fruit cocktail ("out of a can" said the waitress) or tomato juice, soup or salad, entree with choice of side and dessert for the menu price. Most items are very reasonably priced. Parking is limited, but seems ok for the size of the place. I had the House Specialty Crispy Fried Chicken. I've been looking for good old-fashioned fried chicken for weeks, and this met my expectations. Nice and crispy, meat juicy inside. For dessert I had the brownie, which was very good. My partner had the prime rib, which was a little tough - this might have been because he asked for it medium well (I know, I know...). Overall I would totally go back. It's a great little piece of local Americana, locally owned and operated. I'll go back.

Yelp
This place is so disgusting. Honestly #1 for worst meal ever! We went for the Sunday brunch. The whole place is weird. It's old and the food is worse than fast food. I'm not even joking. I can't even understand how people go here more than once. The service is bizarre and you feel like your inconveniencing them to order drinks. The food is old and takes forever to refresh the buffet. There was something on the buffet that I swear was warmed up Alpo dog food. Gross!!! Save yourself the trouble of going somewhere after and don't stop here.
