The portion sizes and quality of the food were good, though foods were a bit fatty and greasy. The fries served on the side were generous, but some items, like the sauce on the supreme pizza, felt a bit overdone. The restaurant was fully booked on Friday night, making it hard to find good seating, especially for large groups and families.

Google
Come here for the top tier burger and pizza. They really don't hold back on the sauces/flavours and ingredients tasted fresh. Seen other reviewers saying they travelled to Canberra to eat here and can definitely see why. Only let down was the service which came across very 'too cool to care' which I had thought was a thing of the past. Something you might expect from a neighbourhood Chinese takeaway joint. It could be because we arrived quite late on a Monday night and it was near closing time.

Google
A great vibe, good food and friendly staff. The pizza was super cheesy n just enough grease, this isn't diet food, but great wings, burgers n pizza slices.

Google
Delicious, greasy burger. Exactly as promised. Good fries. Dog friendly. Kids meals come with drink and ice cream which is always a winner. Reasonable drink prices.

Google
Hits the spot every time! Quick service and consistent products make this burger and pizza joint a must visit whenever you've got a hankering. Quality ingredients of classic combos, killa chip seasoning and Greaseys burger sauce all add up to an awesome experience 🤤🍔

Google
“Freaky friesday” worth $22 is not value for money at all 👎👎👎👎 its just plate full of chips with 10 small pieces of chicken with some yogurt and sauce!! Such a wasted experience!!

Google
Loved the food (pizza was awesome!) & atmosphere with nice staffs! Highly recommended

Google
Overall an okay experience. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. The service was quick, however the staff were not as helpful or attentive to the customers.

Yelp
Great burgers; nice, juicy, and flavorful. Good beer selection. Staff is friendly. Not much bad to say about this place.

Yelp
We visited this establishment and were instantly greeted with exceptional service! We placed our order at the bar and found a table out on the patio. Our service was fast and the food was great! Good atmosphere with several TVs hung to watch sports.

Yelp
The burger was fine, albeit over priced. The chips though, they tasted like yesterdays left overs refried. Tough, chewy and old tasting. Wouldn't recommend over other nearby venues.

Yelp
Meh. Enjoyed the chicken, not so much the burger. The burgers are bland. Very simple, nothing special. Putting a fried piece of meat inside a bun does not make a great burger. That is called barbecue. They should put more effort into it. Or call themselves a barbecue joint. The fried chicken and potato mash and gravy though are really good.

Yelp
Please come to Melbourne, OMG best burger ever had, the layout in an old garage, the seating, ambience was amazing, the venue adds to the hipsterville precinct and the burger was just amazing. I will be back for more and I must say the art work was interesting.....

Yelp
Nice spot for beers and some snacks. We had the Pear and Juniper pints and they were excellent. Nice casual vibe that's a bit like a burger joint but it's also a nice general casual vibe to just drink and chat in.

Yelp
The burgers aren't bad, but I this place is overrated. I had the double-deluxe burger and substituted the fries with cole slaw. The burger was juicy and flavorful, but I wouldn't call it the best I've ever had. Also, it was a bit small for a "deluxe" burger. The slaw was void of flavor and too wet. By the way, I think their marketing could use some rethinking. Advertising a "greasy" burger made out of a used garage really isn't that appetizing. Don't get me wrong, I love a good burger, but I'm health conscious too. If I merely came across them by surfing their website, I would totally pass. In sum, it was a decent but not outstanding burger. I wouldn't object too strongly to coming back, although I'm not planning a second visit either.

Yelp
It's not a burger joint. It's a very tiny and noisy bar. You cannot take drinks to the outdoor area which is much quieter with heaters (it's the dead of winter). Overpriced average quality. Need to ask for no spice in the chips. Yuck.

Yelp
For a burger joint, I expected taste but I was let down. A $15 burger should be awesome not average and what is with the packet bag chips. These guys should check out In and Out burger. Staff need to smile more. Since my last review this place has picked up its game, burgers are better presented and staff are more attentive.

Yelp
Ridiculously good burgers. Seriously. I'm yet to find a better burger in Australia. Go for the pulled pork. The pork melts in your mouth! We tried the place on a whim for dinner, and went back the following day for lunch just so we could try more menu items.

Yelp
One of the best places to hang out and eat in Canberra. TVs everywhere and plenty of room. Schnitzel burger was good. Wings were good. Smash Test burger was the best. Highly recommended by bartender and did not disappoint. Definitely a place I will go back to next time I am in Canberra.

Yelp
Within an hour of my first ever visit to Australia's capital city, my husband whisked me away from our BnB and into this burger joint. What a glorious experience! We had the house standard burger (the "Greasy") and a basket of fried chicken. I wouldn't say it was precisely reminiscent of my beloved American burgers and chicken, but I could taste some Shake Shack style flavors in that burger (which is cooked nicely with a charred crust) and a hint of southern influence in the lightly battered and perfectly fried chicken. I'm absolutely stunned that this place doesn't have better reviews. It's an excellent lunch spot, has gorgeous food, a decent beer and wine list, and wasn't very busy when we arrived just a little after Noon. Maybe the fine folk of Canberra are spoiled for food (they aren't), or are opposed to the prices (the prices aren't any higher than other Australian burger joints), and if so they should feel free to walk past this place. But if you are visiting Canberra, don't skip the Grease Monkey!

Yelp
Great customer service and beautiful place to get food in Braddon. Food was amazing and the vibe of the place was cool. Definitely a place to keep going to and great for all occasions. Food was reasonably priced but the quality was truly amazing. Awesome drinks and food menu with a great range to suit everyone :)

Yelp
Fantastic Grease burger and amazing soft shell crab burger with sweet potatoe fries Well worth the visit when in Canberra

Yelp
Went here upon a suggestion and was disappointed burger was really average not a fan of anything in it and the spicy chips weren't great ever. Really pricey $26 for a very small burger, chips and a shake. The shake was not good either just tasted like chocolate syrup yuk!! As others mentioned the venue is like a bar not a burger joint although they specialise in burgers it just doesn't make sense.

Yelp
A decent selection of burgers and drinks. It is pretty popular place so gets loud, but overall a good place to grab a burger and a beer

Yelp
Nice American style burger. I had the 'double deluxe', reasonable sized but seriously 20 bucks for it probably not worth it l, but it's Braddon what can you expect. I did enjoy the meal and the spicy sides of chips was awesome. Sad to say it won't be a place I'd go to all that often to due to the high expense of it, however very decent burger.

Yelp
So much Potential. If you want a burger and a beer, this place is good. The burgers are simple and tasty and the beer is good. Great atmosphere especially on summer afternoons. However, cost does not reflect quality, taste or effort. I'm not disappointed, just hope for more from these guys in the future. You should definitely check Grease Monkey out, you just might not do it twice.

Yelp
I think previous reviewers were too harsh. First time at this restaurant and thought it was great. My friends agreed. I had the "dirty bird" chicken burger which was awesome. Maybe could have used a bit more garlic in the mayo as a aioli but that's my personal taste. My friend had the "full service" burger and said the textures of the combined egg pineapple cheese and bacon were great. We all liked the chips with the spice on it. Outside area was nicest. No smokers to speak of with Canberras smoking laws in place. The manager requested that we moved indoors as there was a large group booked for our table. However he gave us a free round of drinks (any drink!) to compensate which is over the top good service in my book! The beer menu is really enticing with some unusual ciders and alcoholic ginger beers that left me indecisive. Having tried a few I was pretty happy with the drinks menu. The music gave a good vibe and wasn't too loud (and I'm sensitive to that sort of thing). Perhaps could have been a bit softer but I'd be nitpicking. I think it suits the target demographic. Overall service was quick and friendly. Tables and cutlery were spotlessly clean. The burgers weren't huge but we were stuffed at the end of the meal anyway. The atmosphere was great and the decor had a cantina feel to it which makes you immediately relaxed. I would definitely recommend. If I were to have any negatives it would be that the price of some things were on the high side so they do raise expectations a lot. However I felt like they delivered for my experience.

Yelp
Fantastic place for burgers. Can't get enough of their vegetarian Nimbus burger and sweet potato fries. Definitely a regular haunt!

Yelp
Grease Monkey is so good, it makes the modernist planned desert of Canberra seem ok, at least for a little while. Yes, the burgers are good. Very good in the (proper) American style (is there any other acceptable style? Are there excellent Norwegian burgers? I'm not sure), but the real revelation is the fried chicken. Aunt Jemima and the Holy ghost! That chicken is good. Trust me, I know and love good fried chicken, and this is it. Combine it with great fries, sauces, and beer and you have a recipe for greasy nirvana. I like this place so much, the last time I was forced, for my sins, to visit Canberra I literally ate at Grease Monkey three nights in row. My only complaint is that I have to go back to Canberra to get it.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Great food despite prices. Double deluxe burger is fantastic. Good staff. Good drinks. Nice venue. Lost a star because of prices.

Yelp
Love Greasy's. Go to after gym for their burgers and beer. Greasy sauce is a must on the side.

Yelp
I visit it with my family we all take the standard one it comes with herbed french fries side, we all loved the burger it is very tasty and melt in your mouth just like "Shake shack" an American restaurant, even the potato is good. But if you too hungry it is better to take the double burger. It is a must visit for burger lover. And it is my favorite until now at Australia.

Yelp
Terrific burger, gotta be one of the best I've had on Oz. compares favourable to In'n'Out and SuperDuper. Pricey though, so pricey

Murray W.

Yelp
A great place for quality burgers and all that goes with them. Good range of beer including local boutiques. Always crowded and noisy but hey, that's how they roll. Not your best choice for a first date

Axel D.

Yelp
Good place for a burger and a beer in civic. The burger could be bigger, but at least it comes with fries. Upping it to the Double Deluxe or the Full Service is worthwhile. If the burgers were cheaper I'd go here more often.

Paul H.

Yelp
Slowest & surprisingly incompetent service I have ever experienced. There were at least 4 other people who ordered AFTER me but got their food BEFORE me. WTF? Little did I know but I was actually looking at my food for 20 minutes sitting on the warming bench before 1 of the 4 incompetent staff realised it was ready. I can't believe that this place is still running. On the other-hand, the food was great.  2 competent staff could've run the bar / restaurant with ease.

Anthony C.

Yelp
maybe a little pricey for what it is, but i guess Braddon rents are pretty steep and the burgers are to die for! Gotta go for the pulled pork every time.

Patricia C.

Yelp
Burgers were ok but I've had better. They're not very big for the prices you pay. We sat at the bar after circling the place twice (all tables taken), passing 3 miserable wait-staff who all ignored us. When I finally got the attention of someone behind the bar to ask for a menu, she replied "They're on all the tables." When I stated that we're not at a table, we're at the bar, she huffed and then reluctantly handed them over. We again had to get their attention to place our order, then when our food came out we had to ask for cutlery and sauces. One staff member behind the bar stood in front of us prepping lemons etc. and looked directly at us a hand-full of times; not once did he smile, say hello, or ask how everything was. We then had to ask for the bill and it was put through with neither a smile, a thank you, or an invitation back. Staff need to go to Customer Service 101 training. I will complement them on the cleanliness of the restrooms, but we will not be back.
