Great American Cookies

We came across this shop while walking around The Shops at Heavenly Village. We came to Lake Tahoe with our big family group in Sept 2025 so this review is a little late. The cookies were soft, chewy and delicious!! A little too sweet though. When we arrived, the cookie glass case wasn’t too full. I like that have a variety of cookies and brownies.

Stale and hard cookies, tasted old. Minimal ice cream selections. Horrible. Go somewhere else. Also, employees seemed to hate their life. I hated my life also after eating these cookies.

We were in South Lake Tahoe for Christmas and I ordered a large cookie cake for my son’s birthday while we were there. The good news is that it looked good which made the $54 cost a little easier to swallow. The bad news is that it was totally underbaked and had a paper lining stuck to the bottom of the cake that was hard to cut through and would not come off without effectively destroying each slice. On the bright side, they apologized and immediately refunded the cost when I called the store a few days later.

Such a perfect way to enjoy delicious dessert!! Mini chocolate chip cookies are so soft and the mini sneaker doodles are so soft..also the ice cream sandwich was so yummy,My husband enjoyed the rocky road ice cream..

Very good cookies, staff are all wearing masks, social distancing is practiced. Mildly expensive but worth it for a nice treat after a long day at tahoe. Update on 5/6/21- wanted to add a pic of my cookie sandwhich 🤤

I'm not usually crazy about hitting up a chain, especially in a place that's new to me. But it was the end of our evening and I hadn't found a treat that really did it for me. I was craving some sugar that would punch me in the face and this place delivered. I went with one chocolate cookie with dark and white chocolate chips and one - I don't know what to call it. Basically, they molded a peanut butter cookie into the shape of a bowl and then filled it with milk chocolate and swirls of peanut butter. Both were exactly what a wanted and super yummy! Especially the latter - it was pretty darn sweet and the salty peanut butter gave the perfect balance.

We tried the red velvet and pecan chocolate chip cookies, but they were too hard, like eating hard sugar. We expected them to be fresh and soft-baked, not stale. Not good! We do not recommend it.

You look at the picture on wall of this delicious peppermint hot chocolate what you get is regular hot chocolate and you have to ask to add whip cream and no sprinkles in top great disappointment. Will never return here.Not to mention the service is terrible.

It's not amazing but satisfying. It tastes better than it looks!! Be clear on your order as there is confusion

This was our first time out in Lake Tahoe. We came across American cookies. A bit expensive for my taste because the cookies we dry and were not that great. Honestly the cookies were dry and crumbly and were flavorless even though they had a good variety of flavors. I guess being one of the only cookie shops in town they get business either way. They had some cool big cookies that I posted a picture of; I don't think they were editable. It looked like a cool little cookie spot and service was ok, they were busy. Maybe I just picked the wrong cookies on the day we were here. Cookies seemed like they had been sitting for a couple days behind the counter.

A little slice of dessert heaven! Everything we tried was delicious, the flavors were on point and the ingredients were high quality. The red velvet bar was my favorite! I think my biggest issue was just the thickness of the cookies. The slice of cookie cake and the cookie sandwich were both crazy thin. The store is in the center of a strip mall so you'll need to park elsewhere and walk up. The price is pretty typical for state line and the staff were super friendly.

Stopped here briefly while my family was checking out the shops before heading back home from our weekend trip at Lake Tahoe. The interior is nice. Feels homey and rustic. Appropriate for a cookie place located here, I think. Immediately upon checking their display case, the chewy chocolate supreme caught my eye. Debated on getting the cookes & cream cookie, but... I'm going to be honest it looked sad and flat. It may actually taste good, but the presentation left a lot to be desired, so I just purchased the one chewy chocolate surpreme for roughly $3. It was good, just fine. Wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was a chewy, caramalized chocolate cookie. Not sure if I'd ever specifically go out of my way to get a cookie here again though.

Solid spot for cookies and ice cream! We came in really quick for a snack to hold us over until dinner. We just got two cookies and they were pretty good. A little on the thin side but overall very good flavor. Husband got snickerdoodle and I got the cookies and cream. Pretty good, just a bit thin and flimsy. Definitely a good place for kids and families.

Right at heavenly ski resort base. My kids live coming here every time. First choose 2 cookies , different flavors, then choose the ice cream flavor. You e got cookies ice cream lol. My favorites are the cookies, bought 2 dozens, the macadamia white chocolate and red velvet are my fav. Quick service, the girl was really nice and patience with my 2 kids. No line, as it was around 2-3 on that Sunday. Will definitely be back when we're in town for more cooked

Two of my favorite fruits, banana and mango so I got the smoothie very delicious. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely DELICIOUS cookies! We tried the snickerdoodle, peanut butter, birthday cake, oatmeal raisin, and M&Ms cookies. What earns them 5 stars is that they made a cookie-cake from scratch for my mother-in-law's 75th birthday within hours notice when typically they request 24 hours in advance. Thanks for helping me make my MIL's birthday extra special!

The cookies have great taste/flavor but the texture was off in my opinion. It's my preference to have softer cookies and out of the 6 we got, 3 were super hard/crispy and 3 were hard with a slightly softer center. But amazing service and great selection!!! On second thought... they do offer cookie ice cream sandwiches here so maybe that's why the cookies were flatter and harder to not break apart in the sandwiches?

The staff is friendly the place is clean and not only are the cookies good their milk shakes are too.

Service was quick. The ice cream is super good and creamy. But I wasn't super thrilled with the politeness, because there wasn't any. But they were also slammed.

Ordered an iced caramel latte for more than $7 and it tasted watered down and like McDonald vanilla iced latte. I wouldn't pay that much for something that tastes like that.

The smoothies were really good. Didn't taste like they're full of chemicals like some places
