Good food and a nice selection of beer all served with a laid-back, casual vibe. Service was excellent, prices were very reasonable, and there was plenty of parking. The outdoor seating area has lots of traffic noise, but it didn't hamper our table conversation. We're from out -of-town and this was our favorite dining experience in Reno so far!

Adam C.

Google
Local craft brew house offering a variety of craft beers and a good selection of food. The menue has some unique items along with the standard American fair. The burgers and pizzas are well made and loaded with flavor The atmosphere is typical brewery with lots of hustle and bustle. This is the only complaint as the service was slow to get good out. The staff was friendly and helpful and apologies for the slow food service.

The H.

Google
Their beers are always the main reason to be here. The food is quite typical brew pub grub. I heard that a chef bought Great Basin, if thats true, then they really need to upgrade their food game. The nachos I had were a good value for 10 bucks, but honestly you can make ones at home that are on par with theirs.

Google
Fantastic place. French dip is one of my favorite dishes. I order it anytime it's on a menu. I've traveled all over the country, and this was by far, the best french dip I've ever had. So good, I came back for it a 2nd time while in town on business. PS-- The beer is good too!

B H.

Google
Great ambiance and amazing service (best service I've had in a long time). Their food wasn't anything exciting. I got their Hef beer and salmon mango tacos, with an upgrade for sweet potato fries (which were so salty). The tacos needed more mangos and more toppings. Wished I ordered something different, oh well.

Google
Great food and beer, I really enjoy this location due to the selection of the menu. I like that they use local meat from park ranch and that they have a bigger selection of actual dinner entrees. We will definitely be back to this location.

Catie C.

Google
The service and atmosphere was great! Plenty of outdoor seating and very attentive staff. The Nashville hot crispy chicken sandwich was delicious! I'm not a big beer drinker personally so I tried their cider and it was so refreshing. I would absolutely come here again.

Corey S.

Google
If I could split this up, it would be 4 stars for beer and 5 stars for food. The beer is fine and they had plenty of options. The service staff was great. The food though, was super good, all 3 members of my party loved their dishes. Except the Fried Pickles, they were fine, but fried pickle spears are an abomination. Fried Pickle chips OTOH are amazing. But alas, they had spears. They were house pickled though, so that was awesome. We got the Grilled Cheese, Stuff Jalapenos, a Burger, and some Totchos. We enjoyed them all immensely.

Yelp
One of our usual haunts as we like to sit at the bar and eat our meal. Tonight we went with mom as she wanted to share a pizza. It is usually exactly what we ask for, good bar food, good beer and drinks. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Monday night burger and a beer is a good deal. Always a special - just depends on the night. Tonight my burger was well done - ordered medium due to training a new chef. Manager comped the burger and our beers. Very receptive and apologetic and not indicative of the quality of food we usually get. I would recommend Great Basin a thousand times if asked. Always good service, food and beer!!

Yelp
Man, every time I come here it's either great or poor, and this last visit was subpar at best. The service was great as a starting point, but outside of that we had a poor experience. From walking in and smelling the same cleaner they use at the dog kennel is not a great intro to a food establishment. But we brushed that aside and tried to enjoy our dinner. Drinks were prompt but the food didn't taste right, and that was for our entire table. I don't really know what it was, I wish I could pinpoint it but both the burger and patty melt were off and all 4 of us didn't eat more than half our meal, which is disappointing for a dinner out. I'll just leave it at the fact that I won't be coming back anytime soon as there are better options with better quality and a better smell and ambiance.

Yelp
A friend and I stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were promptly seated and asked what we wanted to drink. Soon our server was there to take our order. My friend ordered the Honey Jalapeño Chicken salad..... it is a favorite. I ordered the salmon bowl. I asked our server her take on the dish and she said it is her favorite. Our food came out quickly. The Honey Jalapeño Chicken salad was full of greens, tomatoes, onion and cucumber. The dressing is served in the side. The chicken was very good and compliments the salad well. The salmon bowl was excellent! Nice piece of of salad on top of brown rice, edamame, red onion, carrot, cucumbers, ginger, avocado and cilantro. All of the different items blended so well. The aioli was served on the side. It was a bit too spicy for me, so that was a welcome thing!l We were checked on throughout the meal It was a great experience! The server also said the crispy fish tacos were another favorite.... Can't wait to try them!

Yelp
Busy Friday night and we in the spot, don't believe me? Just watch Great Basin handle it Al with Grace and ease. We rolled in like liquid thunder, two four year olds, one two year old, a seven year old and three tired parents, each with their own agenda. One kid has a headache, one needs the bathroom, and the other two can't stop bugging each other, and all the parents want is a little quiet and a drink. The solution? Rescue in the form of that delicious sticky icky bread from the register! That sated the littles for long enough to allow the big kids to get their drinks and some real food in before happy hour ended. The butchers platter with two choices for 10 bucks is a killer deal on this happy hour menu. I got the pork belly with hot honey glaze and a link of their basket style chorizo on mine and it came with a side of spicy brown mustard and some pickled onions plus a little horseradish And a piece of garlic bread. Just the perfect little meal, but of course I had to order some of the smoked chicken wings with the house dry rub and also some of the brewery fries while my friends added on the brussels sprouts and we pretty much have the whole menu. Kids went with the mac & cheese, which is a huge portion, and there were no complaints. Only quiet kiddos. Service was on at attentive, quick and super helpful which makes signing out with kids just that much easier. Serious shout out. This spot is a winner. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I really like the Truckee River red here. Excellent beer and I had fish and chips with garlic fries and coleslaw. All very tasty so I'll be back especially for that Truckee River red and I appreciate the waitress explained to me the difference. The server was angel M nice person good server.

Yelp
We haven't been here in quite some time but a friend chose coming here. They liked the beer. The food was good. They have HH during the week so we will try that. Overall it was pretty tasty
google avatar

Deanna H.

Yelp
We had the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken sandwich and the Crispy Fish Tacos, and they were both delicious. Though, I thought the sandwich could have been a bit bigger. However, I was also a huge fan of the Garlic Parmesan fries as a side. They were hot and the garlic was loaded on! My fish tacos were great, the chipotle sauce and coleslaw toppings really added to an already great piece of fish. The tacos are a decent size, and you get three of them! My margarita-esque cocktail was also good, but did taste a bit like mixer only. I have never been here before, but know this is a popular place! The restaurant was pretty packed when we came, even though it is big with plenty of indoor seating and a patio as well. I'm not sure if it was because it was super busy, but the service we had might have been too "laid back," but she was nice when she was there.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Haven't been to this location in a while. Went with my parents and my daughter. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside and it was a tad loud because of the football game on but not at all anything to complain about. We got the beer battered zucchini sticks and they are definitely the best in town. I got a cup of the beet cheese soup and a pepperoni pizza. My daughter got a side salad and the fish and chips. My soup was good but my pizza was a little over cooked. My daughter loved her fish and chips.

Yelp
this food is so god damn amazing i lived in reno 25 years and now i felt those 25 years were a waste because it took me this long to eat this pizza. I been craving it multiple times, this place is bomb dot com, i'd divorce my spouse if they ever deny me access to this place.
google avatar

Amber Z.

Yelp
Relaxing sports bar with great food and atmosphere. The wait staff was kind and attentive. The patty melt was fresh and juicy. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Yelp
Stopped in for my birthday dinner. Started with a fried zucchini and pretzel with beer cheese appetizers. Both were great, especially the beer cheese and pretzel. Soft pretzel and gooey cheese was wonderful. Generous portions for the kids menu with their chicken nuggets and fries with apple juice. We ended up taking just about a full kid's meal home because it was so plentiful. Eight crispy chicken nuggets and a basket of fries. The rest of us had the fish and chips. They were also great. Fish fried crunchy and delicious served with coleslaw, ranch dip, and tartar sauce. Was a great birthday dinner. Our server was fabulous too. He was very attentive, and our order was accurate and delivered in a timely manner. Parking is never a problem out front. We had a booth for the five of us and it wasn't that busy so we could have our conversation at our table with no problem. Great Basin Brewing is a great place for family and friends to gather and enjoy great food reasonably priced.

Yelp
I still really enjoy Great Basin. They do a good job and the beers are really good. Still gonna complain about the Sheppards pie being taken off .
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Excellent every single time. I swear it seems like I constantly have a new favorite menu item after each visit. There's a great amount of space in both seating areas including the wrap around bar. The patio is nice also, but doesn't always offer the best protection from the sun. The service is always outstanding and they are usually very fast when taking orders, bringing drinks and food. And should you ever need any help selecting a beer, the staff are always so happy to help and will bring you samples to narrow down the decision. For my lunch choice I decided on the chicken Ceasar wrap with fries. The wrap is light and refreshing, and the absolute perfect amount since we also had fried pickles and split a pretzel. (not pictured, we were too excited and dug right in lol!) There's another menu item that I highly recommend which is the fried chicken sandwich. That have the regular option and also spicy. It is beyond perfect and I was hooked on it for awhile. This is one of my favorite places in town, whether you go to the Sparks or Reno location you won't be disappointed. * tip- Add a spread of beer cheese while it's hot on the chicken fried sandwich, it's amazing!

Yelp
Reno for the weekend so had to check out Great Basin. We came with a last minute party of 8 and they were accommodating ! Service was good, nothing over the top but good. Bbq chicken pizza definitely needed more BBQ sauce but I was satisfied. I would come back, good place for family to come
google avatar

Weston P.

Yelp
Came in for lunch and struggled to pick something as everything looked so good in the yelp photos. Had been craving a wrap so I got the special. The food didn't disappoint here. Kennedi was my bar tender and she did a lot phenomenal job and deserves 5 stars. Service was excellent. If you're in the area it's definitely worth stopping in.

Yelp
I had to stay the night in Reno after leaving Burning Man and waiting for my flight. Looking at the map of nearby stuff I noticed this brewery. Of course I had to try the local watering hole. The waitress serving me was super cute, friendly, and attentive. I didnt order food just beer so I cant attest to their food. They had a lot of great beers on tap and they had an excellent variety, not just a dozen tired IPA's! The ambience felt like a rustic old western cabin. I would certainly visit again if im in Reno again.
google avatar

Tammy W.

Yelp
They graciously accommodated a section to fit about 25 people! The service was amazing from start to finish and since we were a volleyball team, they separated each bill by Jersey number and made it easy for each family to pay individually. To top it off, food and drinks were on point!

Marie P.

Yelp
I love the dependability. Great Basin Brewery has been a staple of the Reno Sparks area for years now and hasn't declined the way some restaurants do. They've stayed true to their menu and their originality.... Ummm fresh pretzel twist! Their service is amazing. Their food is clearly made in house and served fresh. And the beer... impeccable. The vibes are easy going and fun with a little something for everyone. When I can't decide, this is always my go-to.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Basin Brewing has good food, good beer, and great service. We visit occasionally and we always enjoy the experience. They consistently make good burgers and sandwiches. And, the staff are always friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and casual. It'd be hard not to have fun here.
google avatar

Bryan K.

Yelp
Great Basin is your standard brewing company with a full service restaurant. They were able to accommodate a large party for us and provided good service. The food was a little slow to arrive but it was very good. The restaurant is nice and clean. Kind of rustic with paintings mounted on the ceiling. We had mini corn dogs, and zucchini fries as apps. The corn dogs were interesting as they are like a bratwurst. The fries were fantastic. For my meal I got the spaghetti and it was really good. I think it could benefit from more sauce as it was pretty dry. The icky bread was good too. Nothing special but was very fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
We had dinner at Great Basin Brewing Company last night. last night. The atmosphere was great, the server, Jamie, was wonderful. I ordered the fish tacos and my husband ordered the fish and chips. My only disappointment was that there wasn't very much seasoning on the fish. It was pretty bland. I added lemon juice, salt, and it made it a little better but I was still disappointed. The fries were delicious. There was plenty of food that we had enough to bring home for lunch. I did see our server take a big huge plate of nachos to the table across from us. It was big enough for a family of four. I was amused by this sign above the entrance to the bathroom area so I thought I would share it.

Yelp
Went with a party of about 8-9. The appetizer, food and drinks were ok. A little spendy but seems to be the normal these days. Waitress did not come around very often. Was there for almost 2 hrs and never even got a refill on water. Did manage to get another drink but only because she brought out some soup and i asked her. Gratuity was already added to the bill which is ok, but does that mean for them not to come by?
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Service. Service need improvement. Twice we went in and twice the Person tending the bar area totally ignored that we were there. She was to busy tending the bar and the patrons that came in after us. Both times we were there she ignored us. Only reason why I knew she was our waitress we had asked. The first time we gave her the benefits but when you sit and wait for approximately 30 minutes for a glass of water. We got up and left. The second time the same thing, we got up to leave and the waitress tell us she was just about to come and take our order. We told her "NO" that we wanted and watched as she served others that came in after us. Called to complain and the owner or manager said nothing. So we haven't been back needless to say. And yes we are locals.

Yelp
First off the service was 11/10. Sat at the bar and was served by Rich. On top of drinks and food; very attentive. Thank you Rich!!Also noticed how staff attitude was while working, generally speaking. We tried a special: fried mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese / jalapeno with a spicy sweet dipping sauce , and a roast beef sandwhich with mushroom, Swiss and garlic mayo. It was the best tasting food we had in a long time! I hope they make that special again because we would travel an hour to eat it! The food just melted in our mouth. As far as drinks go, they have an amazing award winning spicy beer too. Perfect pairing. Ambiance was warm and cozy. Very comfortable and spacious. Definitely returning again when in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
On mondays free beer with purchase of sandwich or burger. This place is part of the beer passport and the service was great. Beers on tap and they take card. Lots of parking. They also sell their bread. I really liked the beer cheese soup
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Nice selection of craft and bottled beers, along with a full bar. Slots available at the bar if that's your thing. Decent food menu with specials just about every day. Staff is very friendly offering samples of the draft brews.
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
Good brews and food. Great casual place to knock back a couple of cold ones with some music and friends.
google avatar

Paul P.

Yelp
Drunken Stuffed Jalapeños starter was a fabulous starter with plenty to share. We have not had anything bad at any location of Great Basin. We are regulars working our way through the menu. Join the loyalty program it's worth it. Always clean tables. Great environment.
google avatar

Nate L.

Yelp
We have been coming here for their grilled salmon with carrots and broccolini, but they took it off the menu, so we haven't been at Great Basin for a while. We happened to be in Reno, and we thought we see if there were any new items on their menu. To my surprise, they added a Salmon Bowl, and it is outstanding. It's a filet of salmon over brown rice with avocado, pickled ginger, edamame, marinaded carrots, etc. Great Basin always had fresh tasting salmon, and this dish is really refreshing and NOT a diet killer! We will be returning to Reno and this will be our first stop!
google avatar

Jovina B.

Yelp
Food We opted for a bunch of appetizers to go with the several flights of beer we ordered. The appetizers: willy dilly pickles, kung pao brussel sprouts, battered zuchinni and stuffed jalapeno cream cheese were all good. The brussel sprouts and zuchinni were our favorites. The beer flight was incredibly helpful if you just want to taste several beers and don't know what you want. Service was good and ambiance was typical of a brewing place. Lots of parking. I recommend this place.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
I feel like Great Basin is nearly synonymous with the Reno/Sparks area and for good reason; they have some memorable beers (although they never have Witty Bitch on tap enough IMO) and a sizable menu. Admittedly my past few visits haven't exactly lived up to the legend. This most recent visit had the fries on the burnt side and the meat of the burger was fiercely dry unfortunately. Service was surprisingly absent although the dining room was maybe 20% capacity, but not totally MIA. The dining room has always had a chill vibe and I love seeing the tanks though since Revision has taken over their brewing I'm not quite sure if they are used or just for show these days.
google avatar

Nishant S.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had dinner here a couple days ago. Seemed like a great place to go and have some good dinner. Place was great inside and out. Our waiter was also really good, got us everything we wanted in a good amount of time. We had the platter with ribs, jalapeño sausage and chorizo. The ribs were great but the sausage and chorizo were absolutely horrible. Almost made me puke while trying it. I can't believe they would ever serve something like that. Might come back to try other things but DO NOT ORDER THE SAUSGE AND CHORIZO

Mary-Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Dear Great Basin (Reno), Please be mindful of your to-go orders. Your salmon bowl is my go-to dinner when I find myself in the area. Today was the third time there was a missing element to the bowl. One time it was the seasoned cucumbers. The second and third (today) times the sesame vinaigrette was missing. While I understand it's a change from the customary spicy mayo, it's never been a problem making this substitution. No vinaigrette makes for a very dry, very blah salmon bowl. Please do better.

Yelp
We stopped by for drinks and some snacks while we waited to drop our friends off at the airport. Our cocktails were good, with the exception of our espresso martinis. We got some desserts to satisfy our sweet tooth, which were warm and delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Easily one of our favorite places to eat for special occasions and weekend brunch. The food is not only delicious but it's consistent and you know it will be great every time. Yum!

Yelp
Every thing was good ! food was tasty and delicious The service grate she was friendly and fast, the time it took for my order to get to the table was experience! fast too!!

Yelp
Just stopped in for a beer and they had a nice selection on tap, but it was a little pricey. The place could use a good cleaning because it was not very clean. And we got there when they first opened.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
The food and service was great when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. We chose to eat outside as it was a great day for it in August. Definitely recommend Great Basin.
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
I think what helps Great Basin Brewing Co. earn a five star review is that their menu offerings have something for absolutely everyone! My husband and his buddies love going for their burgers and beers! Great Basin offers a special on Mondays: buy a burger and get a free beer. I am a total sucker for their salmon bowl which is both delicious and nutritious. This location can get pretty busy, but I have found that Great Basin is usually well-staffed and we never have any issues with the service. Everyone is always incredibly friendly and as prompt as they can be. In addition to dining and you can order online for takeout.
google avatar

Smaly K.

Yelp
We had all just eaten breakfast and not quite yet ready for lunch, but we were waiting to check into our Air BnB, so we stopped here for a little bite and some drinks. I got the Bacon Cheesy Fries and a Paloma. Everyone else was having fun with their beer flights, and some others also got some food. Service was excellent, and we all enjoyed our time here.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday, late afternoon, just before the dinner rush. First time here so I was eager to try lots of different things from the menu. They also have daily specials!! Starting off with the Onion Rings! OK 10/10. Highly recommend. Don't skip it! It's perfectly fried, beer battered deliciousness. For my main entree, I ordered from the daily specials - Chicken Poblano Pasta. Love the sauce, it's got a mild kick to it. Savory dish. I had a few bites of the pork belly mac n cheese. In my opinion, the mac n cheese was a little bland. We also ordered from the Butcher Platter (mix and match pork cuts and sausages) We had the pork belly, pork ribs and Green Chorizo. For $18, this was a great deal! The BBQ sauce they use is in the sweeter side. Fall off the bone ribs! I was hoping they would have beef brisket as an option instead of all pork. Service was a little slow considering the place was not too busy. It was hard to find the server and when she did come by it would take her awhile to bring us back the stuff we asked for. Ironically, we didn't get to try any of the craft beers. But they have Happy Hour M-F. The more reason to come back and have some beer tasting next time
google avatar

Mark T.

Yelp
Great Basin is a Reno standard. I've been to both locations (Virginia, Victorian) and the food/beer quality and service is similar. The menu, atmosphere and service is casual like a brewpub should be. Try the Heat of the Moment-it's a pineapple habanero hazy and it's tasty.
google avatar

Jackie T.

Yelp
I was there during hot August night on the 8th 2025 and I had 3 carne asada tacos and chips and they were so delicious and the staff was nice and environment was great shout out to Robert
google avatar

Michele H.

Yelp
We had the potato skins, fried jalapeños, mac n cheese, and chicken wings. The potato skins were pretty good 8/10. Jalapeños are too breaded and the grease was a bit much and the dipping sauce was way too sweet 4/10. Mac n cheese was decent as long as you got some of the topping with it 7/10. The chicken wings, we had the sweet chili and those were more sweet than spice. Would've loved more spice to them. Meat was good quality but flavor lacked 5/10. Service was okay, dropped food and never came back. And they were out of quite a few beers.
google avatar

Cheryl C.

Yelp
Busy for a Friday night before Tim McGraw concert but able to sit outside. We got to go cups so we could enjoy our beers listening to the concert outside the venue. I like a light beer so chose one after a recommendation by our waiter. It was very light with a touch of orange flavor but not sweet. Blood orange blonde ale, I'd order again!
google avatar

Carson L.

Yelp
Excellent service great food deep fried pickles so good! Great place to enjoy a meal with the fam bam!

Yelp
Wife and I stopped in, before watching fireworks, on the 4th, at the Nugget. We happened to arrive during happy hour and were seated on the patio. Lucy was our server. Despite how busy the holiday rush was, she took good care of us. We ordered the happy hour, wings, fried pickles, ribs, and meat plate. The ribs were good, for a non bbq place. The wings were crispy and the beers were on point. We ordered our beers and watched the band. It was a good time. I'll be back, when in town.
google avatar

Raymond L.

Yelp
I think I gave this place a try before and it appears it's slid further down the abyss. I ordered their large shepherds pie. lol I have a piece of bread in the entree, that was their large portion. I never order the child's serving and this was an embarrassment even if it were a child's portion. By definition a shepherd's pie is supposed to have piped or topped with mashed potatoes and heated in the oven. Their version has melted cheese on top, not the traditional and proper way to make a shepherd's pie. On top of the dinky portion which is considered a large portion it was real salty probably due to the cheese on top. I really wanted to like this place but in conclusion that's not gonna happen.

Yelp
Interesting art & ambiance. Epic "Used Beer Department". Decent food, noisy dining room, booths too small, yet still worth going back for some time.
