"Great Leap Brewing is a Beijing craft beer institution. The #6 location is where it all started about 10 years ago when the founders launched Beijing’s first microbrewery. GLB specializes in crisp craft brews that incorporate flavors from Chinese cuisine like Sichuan mala peppers, which induce a tingly numb feeling on the pallet, and oolong tea, which adds a floral note. Note that there are three locations throughout the city. The original #6 is in a converted 120-year-old hutong; the other two locations are in contemporary structures. If you are looking for a taste of western food, good old beers, burgers and pizza. Great Leap is the place for you. With a huge variety of locally made beers. I would recommend this place solely for that reason. It's just an added bonus that the food is great too. Pizzas are huge so you will most likely need to share it. But they do sells the per slice thankfully

Good atmosphere and decent food. Nothing was outstanding but still solid. I made the mistake of being adventurous with my beer selection and go the one with Sichuan peppercorns for the novelty. It wasn't spicy or anything but it just didn't taste very good.

I looooooved this brewpub so much I went two nights in a row on my recent trip to Beijing. It’s so cozy, amazing beers on tap, great food (the buffalo wings were fantastic) and the staff were really friendly and all spoke English.
