GReaT Trails Riverview Resort Thanjavur By GRT Hotels

A very nice 4 star hotel off Thanajavur. Set by the river, we were upgraded to the Heritage rooms above the dining area. ||My thanks to Chef Sundar and Rajesh in the dining room who attended to our dietary needs during the 3 days stay. We chose this hotel as we had to visit a very specific temple approx 40 min away and 60 min from Trichy Airport - Location was the prime motivator and it seemed like a nice 4 star from the pictures posted. ||||We selected the half board option and the breakfast and dining options were per the 4 star standards. ||The pool is a nice sized one while the fitness room leaves a lot to be desired. Though the weather outside didn’t make me miss the gym.

Resort is at excellent location at bank of river and very peaceful. This is little far from the town, this is ok for me. Greenery is excellent in resort and maintaining very well. Stayed in Garden Room with River View in ground floor, we cannot see river from balcony only Garden and riverbank wall, simply putting name as river view. Rooms is excellent, very spacious and very big bed. Room has the balcony, dressing room and big bathroom along with tub. Room maintenance is very good and clean. Recpetion and staff are very good and cooperative. |Breakfast is ok as per 3 start hotels, not many options and quality is not good for few items, looks few items are not fresh at all, few packed items are almost expired, and taste is very bad. On order items in restaurant are good and food expensive as per 3 start hotels. Used bar as well and bar room is not maintaining well, overall service is excellent. As this is famous tourist place, everyone should speak English, but some people suddenly speaking in their own language while serving and at reception, so we have to ask multiple times.

We had a lovely stay. The staff are extremely attentive, from the manager, to the chef, to all the other staff who keep this place beautiful and running smoothly. The food is delicious: it's a bit pricey but the portions are extremely generous. Grounds are immaculately kept and rooms are clean. It's a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the river roll past. The pool is a delight. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very good hotel. We had a very spacious room and bathroom and a balcony with river view where we could relax in the evening or morning breeze. Wonderful huge garden, well maintained, and big swimming pool. Very good restaurant and excellent SPA. All the staff in every section professional and helpful. They arranged us a car for visiting Thanjavur and for going to the airport at an honest price. We can highly recommend this hotel.

One of the highlights was the in-house tea—rich, aromatic, and absolutely worth staying in for. Huge kudos to Mr. John from the kitchen, who literally rushed out to let us know it was included in our package, saving us a trip into town. That kind of attentiveness is rare and deeply appreciated. The kitchen team was truly outstanding. Chef Sunder and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our kids were not only well-fed but also pampered with dishes tailored to their tastes. The attention they received made them feel so special, and it added a lovely personal touch to our stay. The lighting setup and riverside view were simply breath taking—perfect for winding down in the evenings. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of options and live counters serving fresh dosa's and omelettes just the way we liked them. And just when we thought the experience couldn’t get any better, the reception surprised us with a thoughtful final gift for the whole family. It was the perfect ending to a perfect stay. This hotel truly exceeded all expectations and stands out as the best stop on our summer road trip. We’ll cherish these memories for a long time!

Senior Sous Chef Sundarlingam truly excelled in preparing the dishes we requested. The food was not only extremely tasty but also mouth-watering, showcasing his culinary skills. He is a true gentleman, always friendly and attentive, ensuring that he listens to each guest's preferences. By tailoring the dishes to suit our taste buds, he made our dining experience exceptional.

My trip was about 3 days stay, had a wonderful and unique experience in the resort. Pleasant sceneries lush greens was so good. We had a spacious room , good view balcony . The service offered by the staffs was very well and neat. We had opportunities for using all the amenities placed there. Maintenance and services was in a good standard.

One of the beautiful and scenic properties in Thanjavur. We had a great stay, the staff is polite. Breakfast options can be improved for vegetarians. The “Big temple” is 9km away but if you are looking for a quiet and calm place to stay with luxury accommodation then it’s a great option.
