Great Wolf Lodge | Grand Mound

Our kids BEG us to go here as many times as possible. I feel like it is the perfect three day weekend if you have kiddos between 4-14 years old. We have kiddos. This visit we had the best time in the arcade with our younger two, a great time questing with our older two, and so much fun all together at the water park. An odd review but something that stood out was how much and quickly the staff were cleaning the lobby and the girls bathrooms. I have never seen staff work so hard. The girls bathrooms were so very clean in the pool area and the main lobby was constantly being cleaned by a gentelmen. Both worked so efficient and fast.

To start off, we had 4 adults, 6 kids between 4-17. This is my 2nd Greatwolf Lodge experience and I have to say, it was not as nice as the other one. We stayed on a Sunday/Monday the 1st of Feb. It was so crowded. It took over 30 minutes to get on an elevator because they are so slow and the lines were insane. Their MagiQuest game for the kids is spread through 4 floors and it was impossible to use the elevators for this. We used the stairs 75% of the time. Their parking lot was extremely packed. Now to the waterpark itself. 2 large group slides, max weight one the spiral tornado was 600lbs for group the other 800lbs for the group. 2 innertube type slides. 1 kids play structure with 2 mini slides, a toddler spalsh area, a wave pool, a play pool with like basketball hoops and a couple play floats. And then a hot tub that was half indoors and the other half outside. (Loved being outside in winter and in a hot tub 😍) but they were so packed the majority of the time. The whole water park area for the 2 days was uncomfortably crowded. On top of it, food is not worth it. $5 for a small fries the size of McDonalds small is too much. Same with the $8 corndog. They also give great discounts... if you pay for the insanely expensive add on passes. You can get a build a bear for $7 with a pass, $25 without. But the pass is $70+ per person. Overall, I would not pay full price to stay here. If I have a good deal, 50% off or whatever, but not a normal full price family vacation.

We had an exceptional first stay at GWL. The best part was the customer service. Every single employee had a cheerful attitude, seemed to genuinely enjoy their job, and made us feel like welcomed guests. We loved the water park and the evening story time. The only complaint I have is that the room was not able to cool down below 70 degrees overnight and that is not really a comfortable sleep temp for my family. Next time we will bring a fan and it will be better.

We are used to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine... Comparatively this place shocked us at how bad it was. The staff are extremely rude and obnoxious. They literally are constantly blowing the whistle and yelling at an already loud waterpark it was extremely grating. Their "fraud" policy is really stupid and deserves a Darwin award and not to mention the constant upsell. If you don't want to use their moldy shampoo in the room you have to buy a $5 dollar shampoo. $80 dollars for a stupid quest that makes it impossible to get an elevator especially if you have luggage. A wave pool that is a massive 5 ft deep and no lazy river. Not to mention the fun of constantly getting pelted by balls and footballs while the staff does nothing about that. My son puts his hand in front of a water cannon and he gets a whistle and yelled at " STOP SPLASHING THE GUARD" the water didn't even touch his feet. So all in all this was not a great way to spend my son's birthday. If you're reading this save your money and go somewhere you can actually have a good time because it absolutely is not here.

We had an outstanding stay at Great Wolf Lodge. From the moment we checked in, the staff was welcoming, upbeat, and genuinely focused on making sure our family had a great experience. The water park alone is worth the trip—tons of slides, a huge wave pool, and plenty of areas for younger kids to play safely. Everything felt clean, organized, and well-run, even when it was busy. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for winding down after a long day of swimming. The food options were solid, and the activities outside the water park (like the arcade and nightly story time) kept the kids entertained nonstop. If you’re looking for a fun, stress-free place to take the family, Great Wolf Lodge delivers on every level. We’ll absolutely be back!

We purchased a discounted day pass during the week, because otherwise it is way too expensive for what is offered. The waterpark is not very big and they overcharge for everything. Lockers, water, snacks. The most frustrating process is their parking system. They automatically charge a $20 parking fee after you have left, without making you aware. At the end of the day I received a statement for the entry tickets (which were paid upfront already) and all of the sudden there was a parking fee added on the statement (it wasn't on the original). They just assume you came with your own vehicle. What if you were dropped off?! When you get there you pull a parking ticket which you have to pay by phone before being able to exit. So they charge 2x $19.57. After contacting customer service I was told to request a refund from ACE parking even though GWL was the one wrongfully charging me and should have just refunded me! It has been a week since requesting my refund and I still haven't received it. They should definitely get a better system instead of making customers jump through hoops. Who knows how many people didn't even notice they were double charged!

We had a great overall experience at Great Wolf Lodge. The stay, food, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere were all outstanding. Everything was well-maintained, and the resort truly delivers a fun and comfortable experience for families. The only area that could use improvement is the check-in process. While there was a staff member who helped me and was polite and supportive, the process itself felt a bit slow and could be more streamlined to make arrivals smoother—especially for families arriving after a long trip. That said, this was a minor issue in an otherwise excellent stay. With a more efficient check-in experience, Great Wolf Lodge would be close to perfect. We would definitely consider coming back.

The room and water park were fine and clean, the issue my wife and I had was the customer service, or lack there of. We booked 2 nights with our son for his birthday. We purchased the extra "birthday pass" which the lady at the front desk would be in our room. We get to our room and no pass. We ask housekeeping in hallway and they said there was no add ons for our room and to go to front desk. Wait for one of the 2 working elevators, then have to wait in line at the front desk for a half hour to just ask a simple question. Got passed around to multiple people before someone finally got us the birthday pass. Then on check-out day, we paid for the later 2pm check-out, but our wristband stopped unlocking the room door at 7am. Had to go down to front desk again and wait in line for another 30+ minutes to get a new wristband and was told "yeah our system for the wristbands went through an update and has been doing this for a while" that would have been nice to know beforehand and not just get locked out of our room way earlier than normal check-out time. And why does it take sooooooooo long for everyone to check in. Every person in line takes 20-30 minutes to pay, check ID and get wristbands. There has got to be a way to expedite check-in. This is by far the slowest front desk I have ever experienced.
