Greater Palm Springs Now Has a New Autism-Friendly Resort - AFAR

"Visit Greater Palm Springs became a Certified Autism Center in 2022 and has encouraged several attractions in the Coachella Valley to achieve individual certifications. The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens, the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, and the Rancho Mirage Library & Observatory have all achieved CAC honors. These efforts help neurodiverse families feel welcome in the community, promoting inclusivity and understanding of autism." - Matt Villano

We booked a 3-room and a 2-room units for a family trip, and as soon as we opened the door with anticipation and entered, the room was filled with a pleasant smell, the carpet was dirty, and the screen door attached to the door to the veranda was broken. It doesn't feel like we're at a resort. It feels like we're in a cheap apartment in a slum. A place I wouldn't want to stay again

I don’t remember actually going to the visitors center but I can say that our trip to Palm Springs was awesome. Went for a wedding and made a trip out of it.

Extremely hot weather but I love the mountain view. A laid back and peaceful place to relax. A quick getaway place to go from San Diego, 2 hours 15 minutes.

What can I say it's Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. Absolutely beautiful place to be beautiful scenery lots of things to do. Excellent restaurants and bars from Palm Springs to Coachella. The winter months are absolutely gorgeous the summer months can be brutal what temperature is hitting 125°. Plan your attire accordingly and enjoy the valley.

During my recent trip to Rancho Mirage, I got to meet Susan at the Greater Palm Springs Covention and Visitor center. I had an unbelievable experience. Susan and her team were amazing.
