Greco Hotel

Wonderful family run hotel less than 10 minutes from the harbour in a quiet area. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was served in a beautiful terrace just at the entrance with lots of green surrounding. A truly relaxing place. I highly recommend.

I stayed here in Sept 24 Very kind hostess, very accommodating. Lovely cool sitting room full of antiquities and books. Beautiful cool shaded relaxing paved areas with cats Super quiet and peaceful, a great place to begin your morning walk up into the hills past sheep donkeys and farm houses to the Church at the top. Amazing views! Easy flat paved walk out of town to swimming.

Maria is an extraordinary host. She was at the ready to meet all our needs. Room was very clean and comfortable in a recently renovated hotel. Also, the hair dryer was the best out of the five hotels we stayed in. The garden is absolutely beautiful and provides the perfect place for breakfast in the morning and a bottle of wine in the evening. I would highly recommend!

I stayed here very last-minute to meet up with some friends and it was so lovely!! The lady who runs it is so sweet & made sure I was taken care of, the rooms are well-maintained (even though some of the hinges could use some WD-40) and there’s a lovely Greek breakfast buffet. If you’re planning to stay on Hydra I highly recommend this place, it’s a short & easy 10 minute walk from the port to a quiet neighborhood, you’ll know you’re there when you see all the plants by the breakfast area♥️

The hotel was superb, but what spoiled it for us was the package our son booked for us included a gift pack on arrival. We had to ask four times for this, and by the time they decided to deliver what had been booked and paid for it was the day before we were due to leave. The manager was very apologetic, but it is true. It is a lot easier to apologise than it is to get systems right in the first place. So the last impression of this hotel for us was of disappointment.

While the Greco Hotel has a lovely location near the heart of Hydra, it really needs to improve its facilities, amenities, and services. The rooms are spartan and the beds are hard as rocks. The bracket to hold the shower head was broken...so you needed to hold the shower head in your hand to shower. Other travelers in our group also had complaints about broken showers and leaking toilets. The breakfast was below average....with scrambled eggs put out on a plate so they were cold by the time you arrived to eat. ||The best part of the Greco was the location and the lovely outdoor courtyard full of flowers.

Awful plumbing in the hotel. Our toilet would not flush for the 2 days we stayed here. We let the owner know immediately on the first day but it was not resolved during our stay. We were a tour group w 14 rooms and other rooms had the shower to overflow on the floor & AC drip from condensation on the floor. Others had to take cold showers. The outside garden is lovely as was the breakfast. Just a shame they have such poor plumbing. Check other reviews before booking to see if this issue is resolved. At this point, I would not recommend, unfortunately.

Great place to stay, good location and a really pretty terrace out the front, I immediately felt welcome and have done throughout my three day stay.
