Grecotel Pallas Athena

Great value hotel. Beautifully decorated throughout, definitely uniquely boutique. No shortage of comfortable sofas and chairs, the hotel oozes comfort appeal wherever you choose to sit.|There is a small fitness centre in the basement, a covered outside garden area, reception area inside with plush sofas and armchairs. The hotel is close to the flea market and the swanky shopping stores. No shortage of cash machines within yards of the hotel entrance. |The staff are amazing, always available without being intrusive. Polite, friendly and professional, they are a credit to the hotel.|The restaurant was quiet most lunch and evening times but it had an outside balcony area and spacious tables and chairs. The food was limited in some respects, particularly for vegetarians, but the quality and price was very good. Breakfast was faultless with an impressive array of every food imaginable. The wine list may be pricey for some but the quality was first class. The hotel room was spacious, as was the bathroom with a large walk in shower. One minor fault was how warm the hotel room was. The thermostat was set at 24 degrees and couldn’t be changed but the bathroom had no heating. Opening the bathroom door lowered the temperature in the bedroom which was good. The bathroom had frosted glass windows but no blinds which was not ideal when you put the light on as the building opposite was about 20 feet away. Seemed odd.|Overall this hotel for the price, convenience of position plus the standard of service is hard to beat.Spent a week here over Christmas and very relaxing it was too.

On the whole, the hotel was wonderful. A great, central location, very clean and spacious and very comfortable beds. As other reviewers have commented, the breakfasts are spectacular, a huge choice and variety of fresh, good quality dishes. A huge thank you to the wonderfully friendly and helpful breakfast room staff who were an utter delight to engage with. ||Why have a given this review 3 stars then, well it may seem trivial, but it is down to the air conditioning. All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning panels but you can’t actually control the temperature of the room, these are apparently set centrally by hotel management and cannot be altered. When we arrived the room temperature was 25 degrees according to the control panel and it was very warm. I turned the temperature setting down to 18 degrees to try and cool the room and nothing happened. After several calls to reception they advised that the best option was to turn the air conditioning off in the room and they sent up a fan. The air conditioning is set centrally to ‘warm’ during the winter, and ‘cool’ during the summer so the guest cannot control the level of heat (a ridiculous situation in a 4 star hotel). Due to the location of the room at the front of the hotel, we were unable to open the windows due to the excessive noise from the traffic outside. The noise never really abated night or day and this was not a problem when the windows were closed, but created excessive noise in the room when the windows were open. ||Not sure if I would stay here again, but if you’re a fan of warm bedrooms then this is the place to be.

Our five day stay was perfect. The room, a family room athough we only booked the most basic, was spotlessly clean and comfortable and very well equiped with coffee/tea making equipment and small fridge. The complementary breakfast was very generous with a good choice of cold and hot dishes and fresh fruit. The staff were all smart, helpful and professional. All of them, the bellboy, the receptionists, the housekeepers and the waitresses. Even the short blonde lady taking care of the breakfact pastries showed a clear pride in her job. The management can be proud. Coupled with an excellent location close to the Metro, what is there not to like. Maybe the painting of the mermaid above the bed!

Stayed for 4 nights with wife and 2 kids 7,10 yo. Location is perfect, every attraction is in walking distance, breakfast is great with wide variety. we also ate twice in the restaurant with the hotel, tasty food and fair prices. The stuff was very nice and assisting. A minor issue: The electrical sockets are not easily accessible, but we had an electrical strip. Otherwise there is not enough sockets to charge 4 phones and other devices

It is the fourth time we choose this hotel for our stay in Athens. We are extremely satisfied by the quality of our accommodation as the Grecotel standards are obviously very high in Pallas Athena. |The welcome is always warm and the rooms are very clean, spacious and well decorated. The amenities in the rooms very nice and there's always a nice welcome offer there for us.|The restaurant is the best part of the hotel. For two reasons. The high quality of the breakfast, which combines the Greek traditions with the international breakfast varieties but most of all for the smiling and hard working staff who are doing their best to ensure everyone will enjoy! |Thank you for the hospitality!

Spent 2 nights here at the end of a cruise, booked via Imagine Cruising UK. Arrived around 9:45 am and was able to check in and store luggage and told room would be ready at 3pm. On our return we were given the key to room 103 and told luggage was already in the room. On entering the room my wife and I were literally gobsmacked.|This is a room designed for a disabled person not a normal couple. It had a double bed pushed up against a wall meaning there was only access from one side. The bathroom had a hand held shower only, no bath, no worktop to place toiletries etc., a disabled adapted toilet, dreadful. Also it was opposite a large fridge making lots of noise. All in all a dreadful room to allocate to us. |We immediately went back to reception to ask for a room change. The receptionist was responsive but clearly could not make an immediate decision. She made a couple of calls, spoke to other people and eventually told us to go back to the room and she would see what she could do. Around 1 hour later we were told we could move to room 401 which was a lot better but still in the “more basic” category of room for this hotel. We know this because others we had travelled on the cruise with described their rooms which all sounded much better than ours.|So a very, very disappointing start to our stay. To be fair the breakfast is good and in general the staff are fine. But to give us such a dreadful room on arrival is to me, unforgivable and spoilt our stay.

Brilliant stay from check in to check out. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Rooms immaculate and beds very comfy. Great breakfast. Perfect place to stay for exploring Athens. Open top bus stop nearby. Taxis can be called from reception for you. Would definitely recommend to others.

GREAT hotel, very nice room & public spaces. Breakfast was a gem with an impressive variety! The staff was VERY attentive and accommodating and aimed to assist. The gym was acceptable (not more). The location is good. I would definitely recommend!
