Lovely Sunday roast dinner on arrival. Breakfast not so much, sausage and bacon undercooked for our taste. Sadly I wouldn’t return as it is a base for outdoor activity and I’m getting to an age where I struggle walking any distance. If you’re active this is a great place to stay

We were there for a wedding and had a great time. Room interior was lovely, with a comfy bed and great shower, but it definitely could have been cleaner. Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to provide us with a later-than-usual breakfast. The food overall was decent, but nothing to write home about. The location was beautiful and quite serene. No shops within walking distance, but there was a stunning waterfall. Would visit there again.

Just had 2 nights in the little gem of a place, from checking in to checking out,I felt totally relaxed. The inn has kept the old charm, with open fires, old furniture, stone floors and many more features. Food is wholesome and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was huge, with a lovely walk in shower, plenty toiletries. Huge bed, really comfy, with crisp clean sheets. Tea and coffee provided, and a nice touch is the fresh coffee with cafetiere. If I had one complaint it would be, management, please put a black out curtain on the window, plastic blinds do not shut out light. Room 1. The highlight of the wonderful place is the waterfall, literally in the back garden,it is stunning, and such a peaceful place.

We were staying at the nearby campsite and wanted to visit the Hardraw Force waterfall. We walked there in the rain paid the very reasonable £4 entry fee and walked the well cared for paths to the amazing waterfall. As it was lunchtime we returned to the Green Dragon for lunch and a quick dry. The staff were extremely pleasant and the food and drinks were delivered quickly and were very tasty. The bill was also very reasonable, would not hesitate to return to this delightfully old fashioned pub.

Superb pub, owned by the same people as Tan hill inn. Similar menu. Very close to Hardraw Force waterfall. Good selection of beers served by friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

We stopped for drinks after visiting Hardraw force. Having a child who has allergies we checked if any of the childrens menu would be safe with the bar staff before the busy evening food service began. The male barman who helped us was brilliant, he took the list of allergies and what options our child would prefer and he went and spoke with the chef, between them both they were able to offer the top choice. This gesture was greatly received by our son who was very excited and enjoyed his meal very much and safely. The quality and portion sizes of all meals were good value for money, with a good menu selection of options available for food and drink. The atmosphere of the pub was lovely, very traditional and smokey from the multiple open fires burning which smelled great, there was also a selection of games and cards available to play whilst waiting. I would highly recommend the Green Dragon and would definitely visit again when in the area.

The All creatures great and small pub from back in the day. Lovely modern rooms with everything you need. Fabulous old pub with fire going. Had an excellent beef stew and pint of Landlord. Would recommend you book a table for dinner as very popular
