Good:
First, the staff kindly welcomed me in and explained house rules to me. That was the only good part of this place. She allowed me to use the first floor from 11ish to 15pm until check in time. She was super nice 🤩
Bad:
- The whole entire building smells bad
- Also it seems like there are multiple old ladies and man moved in to this guesthouse. Once I walked in to the female dormitory room, there were pile of clothes hanging from their bed. And there was man watching baseball and News in the shared living room from the morning. I tried to say hi thinking they were travelers at first but they avoid eye contact and ran back to their bed.
- apartment shook a whole entire time 😫
I felt unsafe through out my stay. Like someone else said, I felt like I was homeless. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for some fun and clean stay. I think it’s better to book hotels by paying little bit more 😭

The male staff member wasn’t polite and despite living in Japan for 4 years this is the first time I felt someone was rude just because I was a foreigner.
Also they used a poor analogy in their signage of saying that wearing sandals/even slippers inside was equivalent to getting raped.
The only good thing was probably the location of being close to the port

It's quite okay but the rooms are stuffy, there are few shower rooms and toilets. The host doesn't privide towels and razors, the guest even have to buy a single bottle of drinking water...A plus point is the location, it's quite near the downtown and Kagoshima Aquarium

Close to ferry for Sakurajima, everything was clean and in good condition. The long term residents in the dorm was a bit strange, but other than that very value for money. Only two showers and two toilets, so had to queue for bathrooms quite a lot.

It's a bit far from the city center, but it's definitely a great guesthouse! Everything is very clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable. The place is spacious enough, and there are plenty of tables to study or work on. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful.
P.S. there is no elevator, but you can store your heavy bags on the first floor.

It was too far away from Kagoshima-chuo Railway station to walk. Have to take the bus. First city in Japan that I could not use my SUICA card on the buses. Make sure you got small change. However, it's only about 10 minutes walk to the Tenmonkan Street, the shopping/eating area in Kagoshima.Nice kitchen if you want to do your own cooking. There is a vending machine on the 4th floor with beer and vodka on the rocks. Also, there are 2 laundry machines and dryers - one set on the third floor and the other on the rooftop. The rooftop had a gas dryer which is much better at drying clothes.

Beautiful location and rooftop, terrible manager. The male manager with medium-longer hair is incredibly short tempered, disrespects his foreign guests, and will single you out for making an honest mistake. Genuinely, the man acts like he is out of his mind. I’m really no Karen - I promise you’ll notice the same thing if he checks you in at the desk. He needs to learn how to relax.
The female coworkers are very kind and the only redeemable part of this place other than the location.

I really liked it as I even saw the owner who was cleaning the bed of a person who just left which means that they seriously clean it well after someone leaves. Shower room is normally clean but not that much and doesn't have shampoos, etc. For towel, you need to pay only 200 yen. Bedrooms are clean and people you meet are nice.

Such a nice and well-organized hostel, just 5min walking from Kagoshima port.
Everything you need is there. Internet, computers, tv and dvd's, bookshelves full of Manga and so much more.
There is a kitchen too that you can freely use.
The whole place was super clean and pleasant. I could not be more satisfied.
Oh, and on top of that, they had a rooftop terrace where you can see Sakurajima!
