Google
Always love shopping here. Definitely one of the best places for local gifts and supporting small businesses!!

Walked in ..employee guy on phone was speaking LOUD Spanish on speaker phone. Walked right out. No thanks.... this isn't the bus.

I had a terrible experience here. I went in to buy some soap and laundry detergent and the woman was on her phone which is fine until I needed help and 15 mins passed by she was still on her phone. I interrupted and asked a question, she answered it quickly and goes back to her phone and says, “sorry, I usually don’t work on Tuesdays.” Then I ask her another question and she looks annoyed. She didn’t answer half of my questions so I just left. I guess she had no interest in sustainability. Update: Not sure where there’s a misunderstanding. She was on her phone and apologized to her caller because I had a question during her personal call. She couldn’t answer any questions I had regarding the products. Took her 15 to acknowledge I was there.

Google
This place is the best when looking for yourself or something personal enough to give to a friend. It’s a nice atmosphere, with chocolates, jewelry, postcards, soaps, and green products existing together. You always leave feeling good.

A mom-and-pop with a great selection of products! Try the bulk lotion (it's so nice, my friend who's obsessed with hand lotions asked me where she could get it after borrowing some). I also love the Buck Naked Bath Bombs they carry. They're all-natural, and my skin actually feels hydrated after I get out of the tub.

Google
I love this store — it's a regular stop for soda stream refills, environmentally friendly soaps and more and gifts. Friendly staff too!

Google
One of my favorite local shops, great selection of items, friendly staff and hands down some of the best customer service in brooklyn. Things are on the pricer side like most stores of this nature but it's nice to know where the things you're buying are coming from and having a trusty source for green products. Sure you could save some money ordering offline but not only are you creating so much excess waste getting the item offline but you're also missing the opportunity to support an incredible local small business. Also a great place to pick up locally made gifts for friends and loved ones. All around an incredible shop, go check it out.

Google
I never write reviews but this shop is awesome! They have reusable, recycled, organic etc. home goods, chocolates, gifts, and things for pets. I told the owner/lady working there? I just moved to the neighborhood and she was so sweet, she even gave me a couple of free neighborhood guides. She made my day! Shop local :)

Yelp
Green in BKLYN is a great place to shop for eco friendly sustainable products and gifts. The grandkids love the nastalgic toys and I love everything else they have to offer.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Wonderful little store filled with tons of items that would be great gifts for family, friends, or even yourself! Most of the items are eco-friendly, fair trade, and/or local which makes shopping at Green a positive experience in that you can give back to the community and the planet. If you're looking for natural beauty products, sustainable options for kitchen supplies, or a place to refill your Sodastream or cleaning supplies be sure to stop by this gem in the neighborhood!

Eric L.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Been coming here for years now, and Elissa is always so warm and welcoming. By all means, support this wonderful local business!

Grace K.

Yelp
Super helpful staff! They didn't have what I needed, but they gladly and kindly helped me find nearby places.

Yelp
What do tourists do when they come to NYC? Shop, eat and go to shows, right? F the shows. I rather spend those two hours eating and shopping the city (and the boroughs). Some of that shopping time was spend here, at Green in BKLYN. I first heard about this store from my cousin, who lives down the street. I just knew I had to stop by. We were greeted by the owner, who kindly let us bring in my cousin's dog. I must admit the dog may have gotten more attention from the super-sweet owner than we did as customers. But that's cool, the dog is so ugly that she's gorgeous (and needs that attention) and anyone that likes dogs is cool in my book. The store carries all kinds of eco-friendly, green and recycled products, along with some very 'interesting' art pieces. (Dog art, anyone?) There was definitely some cool items that I considered buying but, sadly, I only went home with a greeting card. I especially loved the re-purposed drinking glasses and other eco-friendly kitchenware. The kitchen items were totally cool but they're totally lost on me, as my cooking skills are limited. Honestly, this was another store where I could have totally walked away with shopping bags full of gifty items. Yet I was limited by that damn suitcase...if it was larger I probably have gotten a bit spendy in here.

Yelp
I've been meaning to yelp about Green in BKLYN for some time and I'm sorry I've not taken the time sooner. Every time I walk in I'm greeted with a warm hello and always asked if I need any help. Although the shop itself is small I've never felt overwhelmed by overbearing sales pitches. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable and the product offerings are always interesting. We all need to buy gifts from time to time and Green in BKLYN is a fantastic place to look, especially if you're not sure what you're looking for. I love the environmental bent, but more importantly the selection is fresh and forward. It's the best place in the neighborhood (and maybe beyond) to pick up locally made goods, which I personally appreciate and love to give! Nothing makes me feel better than supporting a local business that supports other local businesses that make thoughtful things that I actually want to buy. The owner has a sharp eye and her finger on the pulse of Brooklyn. Bravo!

Rahim R.

Yelp
Cool shop with a bunch of cool lil gift items and stuff. I wanted a blank greeting card for my gal and viola. The staff always seems helpful and friendly. So while I am not into it, there seems to be a lot of natural soaps and other products in that lane. Also there is a $10 minimum on debt cards. FYI. I'll be back soon. Cheers.

Natalie W.

Yelp
I absolutely love the store. I found it when I was looking for a place to refill the carbonator is for my soda stream. From there I found a wonderful place for gifts. The woman who owns the shop is so nice and so inspiring really. I have gotten great face lotion there too. I'm about to head there now in fact!

Cem N.

Yelp
Needed to get a solar charger for an upcoming trip, did some research and it lead me here, I live right on Bushwick Ave so it's not far at all and decided to take a walk down to see what they had in person. She knew her stuff and told me of the different models, she didn't try to force me into buying and respected my wishes to look around a bit more. After some research I settled on the model she had described to me. I'm ordering a crap ton of stuff online and while it would have been easier to just get it shipped to me (because of it's price it would have been free) I decided to go in and order it from her because she was so friendly. If she hadn't been nice I would have just ordered it online. Kindness makes a difference. Great store, on the pricey side yeah but well worth it.

Yelp
Great local shop with some REALLY fun and interesting gifts and items for the home. The staff is also ALWAYS friendly and helpful. It is nice to walk in on any given day and be greeted like you have been shopping there for years and years. Another great addition to the neighborhood.

Amy D.

Yelp
Whenever I need gifts for an occasion I stop in here before I stop in anywhere else. Sure it's convenient as I live across the street, my windows look out at it, but it's also great for finding something special. Every card I've sent in the last 6 months has been from here. I did all of my holiday shopping here in one swoop. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and the gift-wrapping adds a nice touch to the gifts. I'm happy this place is in the neighborhood -it adds a little variety to Myrtle ave. I'm excited to see when new things come in in the future.

Kay M.

Yelp
A wonderful store with some essentials for the home and unique gifts. They are also so nice and helpful here. A neighborhood gem.

Claire B.

Yelp
I needed a last minute holiday gift for my mom and I'm so glad I went in here! The staff was really helpful when I asked for something interesting and local. I ended up getting a cute apron and beautiful tea towels. My mom loved them! I'll definitely be back.

Chuck M.

Yelp
Great spot! The owner is very nice. The one drawback is the selection is small but that's due to it size. Hopefully with more success she will be able to expand. If your Eco-Conscious and live near downtown Brooklyn this is a good place to shop!

Olivia S.

Yelp
I like this place and have been coming on and off for a few years. However, I just moved back to Brooklyn and went to refill my sodastream. I realized that they charge $18+ for a refill and most places only charge $15. My total for three canisters normally under $50 came to over $60. I think I will find another place to refill.

Ariel L.

Yelp
It never disappointed me every time I visited. A cool place to check out on myrtle avenue. The owner is knowledgeable for the products that she sells. And she is kind and friendly that always prepares to answer your questions.

Kristin S.

Yelp
Really COOL place with great GREEN products and wonderful staff... Renae and Little Ruby her dog were fun to chat with!

Liz S.

Yelp
I was excited to discover the brand new Green in BKLYN store in my neighborhood. Just opened on Earth Day (of course), they specialize in eco-friendly housewares, cleaning supplies (including my favorite Mrs Meyer's Clean Day), gifts, baby items, doggy items and even some cosmetics. I like when a shop specializes, and if people keep on the "green" bandwagon, I expect Green in BKLYN to do well. Especially since there is no Whole Foods Body or similar nearby. Go green!

Alice L.

Yelp
Shop owner is very nice! I like that they carry a bunch of other cute things besides cleaning supplies. I got a bunch of old brooklyn post cards for my friends. They also have awesome things like natural bug repellant and bulk cleaning supplies that you can go and fill up your old containers with! Highly recommend!

Erin K.

Yelp
Cute place. Beautifully set up. The woman behind the counter, who was probably the owner, was friendly and polite and did a free gift wrapping. Thank you!, Some of the things were a little expensive. But I understand small businesses don't have the same advantages as corporations that can order in large quantities and I like to support community owned businesses.

E L.

Yelp
I'm so glad this place exists, even though the prices are quite high. The owner is very cool and helpful and clearly wants to contribute something unique to the neighborhood. I bought a SodaStream there and am very happy with it so far (warning: it doesn't carbonate as much as pre-bottled, but it's cheaper and more eco) and she replaces cartridges. It's awesome to have that option in the neighborhood.

Luv2 L.

Yelp
Green in Brooklyn is an awesome neighborhood shop with just about whatever cool thing you are needing. Postcards, jewerly and accessories, kids stuff, foodie stuff, paper goods, books, magazines, coffee and coffee stuff, seeds, lovely soaps and incenses, yada yada yada just about everything you could need. I love the shop owner and the other employee. Great unique store focused on also staying green. Worth going to for the perfect gift (even if it's for yourself!)

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Can we have more stars for Green in BKLYN? Elissa, the owner, is probably the most helpful and friendly store owner ever. She's sweet and gracious, and loves to stock and promote locally made products. We started going here to exchange our SodaStream cartridges, and now whenever anyone needs presents, cards, eco-friendly and all-around amazing, I send them here. Prices are exactly what you'd see in any other "green" store around Brooklyn/NYC. All-around, LOVE this store. Everyone should shop here!

A M.

Yelp
I started going here because the Spike Brand pet supplies were recommended but I keep going back because Elissa, the owner, is so ridiculously charming with a very cute dog who likes my dog. I do love the rest of her inventory - household items, knick knacks, toys, reusable bags, jewelry, beauty & skincare products, gifts, etc. Definitely check it out.

Jas B.

Yelp
This place rocks! Elissa and the staff are incredibly helpful--and simply a joy to be around. Any time I'm there, I walk out with great green products, including storage containers for food and drink and the most amazing smelling candles. Thank you for making our neighborhood that much greener!

Maria C.

Yelp
I always shop here because it has the most unique gifts and Brooklyn souvenirs. It also has great green skin care and cosmetics, and the perfumes they carry are very high quality and unique. The only downside is they carry soda stream, which isn't exactly the most "human friendly" company (to say the least). But all in all, the staff is really friendly and highly knowledgeable, and happy to special order anything for customers.

Kasie S.

Yelp
I love this store for all my stationary and gifts. They have a wide variety of items including and I love supporting local businesses especially female owned.

Keith R.

Yelp
Stopped in for gifts and staff was more than helpful. Helped me not only pick out my gift but helped me orient to the neighborhood. I forgot my credit card. They called me just after I had cancelled it but no big deal. Then one week later, I received a hand written note apologizing for my inconvenience. Would highly recommend

Tess G.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood. Every time I stop in, the owner is super friendly and draws my attention to a treasure I must have. Is a God-send for my Soda Stream refills and now all my cleaning products. I'm slowly getting greener despite myself...

Tom B.

Yelp
I don't normally do this - write reviews, that is. But this is a local biz, and Elissa's treated me so darn good every time I drop in, that I need to return the favor. I get all our household's cleaning products here. Period. Her selection of cards is also pretty darn good (not Hallmark-y). She carries a certain kind of drinking glass I wanted (the Boylan's bev bottles, turned into drinking glasses) and ordered more specifically for me when I mentioned how much I liked them. Drop by whether you're into green/earthy stuff or not. Elissa's good people, and her store's a good store.

Tracy H.

Yelp
They have soda stream refills here and the owner and her dog are both lovely.

Karen A.

Yelp
Super nice and very knowledgeable staff. Very helpful and I can bring my pooch. The prices are reasonable for the quality of items they offer. Will definitely go back.

Pearl H.

Yelp
A big fan of this place! Found a lot of interesting stuff here and Elissa the owner was super friendly and helpful. You can always find something that you need here, from body products to stationery to baby clothes.... I love the concept of this store - Elissa really poured her thoughts and passion into it. She gave me great recommendations on the skincare products and still allowed me to use the coupon after it's expired, which I didn't realize until the moment I showed her my phone. I got the recyclable stationary bag, the Pangea lip balm and facial mask (6th time winner of some skincare product award), and had my purchase beautifully gift-wrapped after I told Elissa that this is a gift. After learning that it has been my first tim exploring that neighborhood, she showed me good coffee shops and local fairs on the map. It might not be too hard for me to find a second green product store, but will I find someone as generous and as warm as Elissa? Probably not. Will definitely go back to explore more and to catch up with Elissa.

M H.

Yelp
Has some nice items but is price gouging. Charges 50% over MSRP on certain items. I am comparing prices to other independent stores too, not chains.
