What do tourists do when they come to NYC? Shop, eat and go to shows, right?
F the shows. I rather spend those two hours eating and shopping the city (and the boroughs). Some of that shopping time was spend here, at Green in BKLYN. I first heard about this store from my cousin, who lives down the street. I just knew I had to stop by.
We were greeted by the owner, who kindly let us bring in my cousin's dog. I must admit the dog may have gotten more attention from the super-sweet owner than we did as customers. But that's cool, the dog is so ugly that she's gorgeous (and needs that attention) and anyone that likes dogs is cool in my book.
The store carries all kinds of eco-friendly, green and recycled products, along with some very 'interesting' art pieces. (Dog art, anyone?) There was definitely some cool items that I considered buying but, sadly, I only went home with a greeting card. I especially loved the re-purposed drinking glasses and other eco-friendly kitchenware. The kitchen items were totally cool but they're totally lost on me, as my cooking skills are limited. Honestly, this was another store where I could have totally walked away with shopping bags full of gifty items. Yet I was limited by that damn suitcase...if it was larger I probably have gotten a bit spendy in here.
