The visit to Green Island was a first stop on a tour excursion.
Green Island is a small yet beautiful slice of paradise and well worth the trip. The Island offers hotel accommodations, shops, eateries, a museum to see crocodile, some local wildlife, parasailing, a nature trail, snorkeling and pristine beaches. Only one section of the beach, to the left of the entrance, has a Life Saver.
It took about 30 minutes to reach the Island for our 2.5 hr visit. I decided to take a walk around half of the Island with a few others before enjoying the beach. The walk included quickly perusing some of the shops. Unfortunately, the oldest living crocodile, Cassius, had just passed away recently so we didn't get to see him. After passing through the shops and following the path (that's about cuts the island half) we ended up on a rocky beach. We continued the walk along the rocky beach until coming back around to a path that lead to the entrance.
We settled on the beach area to the right of the entrance, without a Life Saver. The water was calm, beautiful and clear. It is fairly shallow, less than waist height, for a good distance. There were many fish swimming in this area if you don't want to go out to far for snorkeling. Of course, this close to shore you won't be able to see any reefs and you must go further out.
Overall, a great place to spend time regardless if it is for few hour, the day or even a few days. I definitely recommend checking out Green Island.
