On the Grid : Green Leaf Vietnamese

"Green Leaf is an I.D. mainstay for good reason: everything on the menu is delicious. If the vast selection seems daunting, we recommend one of the many vermicelli bowls. Its tucked-away location means less tourists, and more patrons serious about their Vietnamese food." - Shore

3/7/25- Green Leaf Friday evening presented an opportunity for a kid-free dinner date with my wife. Following our visit to the Friends of the Library sale, we searched for a dining experience. We rarely venture to West Lafayette due to its remote location from our residence. However, tonight we craved Pho and Green Leaf was our choice. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by Aaron. Our arrival occurred close to 8pm, and the self-seating policy eliminated the need for a wait. Aaron promptly provided us with menus and thoroughly explained the available options and refreshments. The menu boasts a diverse selection of dishes without being overly complicated. Prices are reasonable, with options including Appetizers, Salads, Noodle Soup Pho, Rice Noodles, Rice Dishes, and a variety of refreshments and Bubble Teas. My wife opted for the Beef Meat Balls, while I chose the Combination, both in the large size. The condiments provided were fresh, featuring cilantro, alfalfa sprouts, Bay leaves, and jalapeños to customize our Pho. Aaron demonstrated exceptional attentiveness, ensuring our beverages were consistently replenished and offering additional items. Notably, Aaron did not mention the establishment's closing time of 8:30pm, instead allowing us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. This act of kindness is particularly appreciated, as many establishments would have rushed us or requested our departure. The Purdue vs Illinois basketball game was televised, making it challenging to expedite our meal. We recommend visiting Green Leaf with sufficient time to enjoy your meal. Be sure to try the Pho and a Bubble Tea – a delicious combination. Aaron's exceptional service warrants a 5-star rating. Having previously dined at several local establishments offering similar cuisine, our experience at Green Leaf was thoroughly enjoyable, and we intend to bump it up to our preferred dining destination for Pho.

Google
Great pho in West Lafayette! I have gone here multiple times over the years and always find myself pleased by the food and service. Seriously, one of my favorite restaurants in this city. Also within easy walking distance from Purdue which is super convenient.

Google
Food was decent not great. Service was good and place had lots of options on menu.

Google
Spent $14 on noodles with pork skewers. There were about 2 tablespoons of pork. The kitchen guy and the server (manager?) tells me that’s how much meat comes with the order. So had to buy an additional $7 side of pork skewers to have a decent meal. They were rude. This is not the first time food portions were tiny. As someone who is Vietnamese and grew up eating this stuff, this restaurant is sad and embarrassing poor representation of my beloved cuisine.

Google
We had the Rice Noodles and Rice Combination with Pork with some Pork Dumplings on the side. The main entrees are pretty good - they hit the spot, but the dumplings seemed either old or extremely overcooked. This is a fine place to hit if you're on campus with a hankerin' for some Vietnamese, but I'd stick to the main dishes.

Google
simple restaurant with good food and great service. i’ve been coming here for all four years of my undergrad and they’ve taken care of me all this time. some other reviews say that the staff is rude but that’s just not true at all, i’m sure they antagonized the staff and got a reaction back.

Google
Legitimately my favorite restaurant in West Lafayette. I’ve had everything on the menu (several times) and everything is delicious. Best pho I’ve ever had, but the rice noodles and rice dishes are excellent.

Google
I recently came here for the first time and had the chicken pho. It was really delicious and the broth had lots of flavor. Some restaurants don't prepare the pho broth well enough and it becomes really bland but this restaurant did it right! The prices were reasonable and the service was really good as well. My only complaint is that the chicken in the pho was a little bit bland and dry, but I think it is mainly because they use chicken breast as the meat.

Yelp
First, I wanna say that the server was very friendly and definitely showed me that he likes his job. He was very attentive and listened carefully on how I wanted my pho to be and I really enjoyed it. So far, this is the best phô restaurant I've been to. The place was very clean and quiet. I wanna come back because the soup didn't taste like muddy broth and the server catered to me with respect. He didn't mind giving me extra lime because most places don't. Their unsweetened ice tea was brewed fresh and tasted amazing. They have reasonable prices and it was nice to go with my boyfriend for company and we will definitely come back for more!

Yelp
Greetings! Once again it's time to tell you about a place you need to know about: Green Leaf Vietnamese Cuisine. I stopped in West Lafayette for dinner and Green Leaf got the nod as it had a solid reputation with Purdue University students (Boiler Up!). I wasn't planning on writing about Green Leaf, but after my first bite I knew I had a worthy contender to share if the meal continued to deliver. It did, so here we go! Tucked away on a quiet street is an unassuming entrance...you walk into a friendly wide open space with twenty foot or higher ceilings and the host invited us to sit at any of the twenty tables. Upon seating, our server, Will, approached and our experience was underway. Will immediately impressed me with his heart for service. He was attentive, informative, engaging, and diligent. We ordered fresh spring roll as a starter and our pho entrees. Will appeared with the spring rolls and sauce...sadly I cannot eat peanut so he brought me a sauce without peanut crumble. He explained that he made the sauce, cooks, serves, and manages Green Leaf. As my pictures show, one bite and I knew that Green Leaf was a local gem! Our pho was fantastic. We ordered a flank steak pho and a signature pho that included several meats, shrimp, and tripe. Both pho dishes came with generous portion of rice noodles, side veg to put in the pho, and plenty of broth. I later learned that the soup cooks for twenty hours...talk about flavor development. Bathrooms and general decor are serviceable, but should be as great as the food. A fresh coat of paint in places, a revisioning of how supplies are stored, and an overall look with eyes open will reveal where Green Leaf can make some strategic improvements. To me, the little things matter as much as the big things. The food is great, the space should be great, too! Green Leaf will get a return visit in the future...I loved my food, and I loved the heart that is put into the service and the recipes. Will: Keep up the great work with Green Leaf, your efforts and products will keep customers like me coming back again and again! Until next time...tk

Yelp
I had been wanting some pho especially since it's been so cold! My friend suggested coming here and I said of course, I love going to new places. Our server was great! He was nice and provided us with info about which meats he recommended for the pho. Our pho came out pretty quickly and we never once got below half a cup of water before someone came and filled it up. I do wish they would've added some spice because it was a little bland for me. I also prefer a little kick of spice in my food. I didn't care much that the cashier questioned why I skipped the tip section when paying with a credit card, I was leaving cash, but that comment didn't sit well with me. Parking is easy, they have a parking garage out back with plenty of parking.

Yelp
In West Lafayette for the day, I asked my son what he wanted for lunch, and he said pho, so we went to Green Leaf Vietnamese Cuisine. On entering, an employee asked us how many, then told us to sit anywhere. Amusingly, he had the exact same interaction with everyone who came in after us, regardless of if their party was 1, 6, or anything in between. After a short wait, another nameless employee brought us menus, then took our orders. My son got the round eye steak pho, I selected the shrimp pho and a hot tea (which never came), and an order to crispy tofu to share. Before tax and tip, our bill came to $28.94 even after my tea was removed, which felt kinda pricy. While the restaurant was about a quarter full, our food was ready pretty quickly. My son and I both agreed the crispy tofu was very good. My shrimp pho was good, but not great, while my son said his round eye steak pho was pretty average. Frankly, the portions were pretty small given the price, so I was glad we had ordered the appetizer, otherwise we would still have been hungry! Service at the restaurant was ... sparse. We interacted with our waiter just four times: when he brought our menus, took our orders, brought the tofu, and finally when he brought our pho. At the end of our meal, we were not even sure how to check out, until we saw another table walk up to the counter with their credit card in hand. PROS: best (only) pho in town, the crispy tofu appetizer was very good CONS: pricy, small portions, lack of service Overall we found Green Leaf Vietnamese Cuisine to be Good Enough, and would return.

Yelp
There are no other pho restaurants in the area, so there is zero competition with this place. I never have to worry about parking here even though the lot is small as it's in a location where many people can get to on foot. The restaurant always has lots of seating, so it's a good place for large groups. Depending on the day, you'll likely get a server who is doing bare minimum to get a tip. The pho portions are small so ordering a size up or extra noodles will probably be just right. This place is really a 2.5 star, with food that will leave you with msg overload and possibly still hungry and a lighter wallet. But since I am sometimes desperate to satisfy that pho fix, I end up here because other places are hours drive away.

Yelp
It is great The best Vietnamese restaurant ever .5 stars for sure. This is my favorite place for Pho in towns.

Yelp
This is my fave pho spot! Love the broth here. Plenty of parking, decent bussling location, and large seating area! I've read a few poor reviews, one mentioning they came from a city known for their pho, they believe the herbs are sparse and portions are small. Let me just ask yall this... do you think in 2024, a small business is really just going to be giving away all their ingredients? I mean, they are keeping their prices low, their service is quality, their ingredients and most importantly their broth is on POINT!! You are in West Lafayette, Indiana. Pho options are slim here, so yes, it may not be comparable to the pho capital of the world where you are coming from, but to locals, this place is smack!!! Please be kinder to small business owners as they navigate through these trying times, because they are likely barely making it in this economy. With love, from a combination pho fan!

Yelp
Horrible experience, the food is "okay" but definitely not worth the price. We asked for some napkins but they never gave us, and they forced 2 of us to pay 19 percent tips even on the menu it says "large table" with more than 4 people will charged 19 percent tips. After we report it to the manager the manager told me I quote: "grab your skateboard and get out!" Never gonna come here again.
google avatar

Yelp
A really nice place to grab a quick bite. While there are really no other options in the area for pho, this place holds its own with their broth. The pho tai is my favorite, the meat quantity could be more, but I usually get a regular size. The large may have more. It's always clean and the service is nice and usually really fast. I did take away one star because if you're dining with 4 or more they add a default tip (can't remember the percentage but I think it's pretty high). The first time this happened we didn't notice and left a second tip on top of the first. They should make it more clear that it's added automatically. This is usually understandable for large groups, maybe even 6+, but for 4 people, it's quite unexpected and unnecessary.

Yelp
The food at Gre n Leaf is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I got the delicious rice noodles with pork skewers and egg rolls. The server is friendly. Nice place and clean

Yelp
I consider myself a Pho connoisseur. I've had pho all over the country, this place just ain't it. All I can say is DO NOT go here for pho. Their sister restaurant Bahn Mi in Lafayette is the same way too. Pho is sad, flavoreless broth, small portion of meat, way overpriced! It may be OK for Non-Asians. I'd rather drive to Indy for my pho fix. However, they do have other dishes that I like. Just not their pho

Yelp
Predictable yet restrained, great spot for quality and tasty Vietnamese inspired cuisine on a simple menu of appetizers, soups, and dishes with most a noodle or rice base. There's a few great dishes but majority isn't that appealing for me. I'd prefer more hits of heat and flavor like the lemongrass chicken - that's my jam! Good service, polite staff, place felt clean and open, and menu is good for wheat and other allergies. Our food arrived fast and fresh. My curry was perfect both flavor filled. Will definitely come back!.... Update: Was just back four months after the above (took way too long). Tried the Rice and Yellow Curry Tofu, friend had rice, egg, and sausage. All super! Teas are super tasty but overpriced for tea flavored sugar water.

Yelp
Very disappointed for our Lunch!! This Noon we've wanted to Eat Pho , even try the Restaurant since it's on the way, things were okay at first but then in the process of ordering. The waiter, wasn't even friendly with us, nor smile Or even ask if we're okay or need anything. After ordering our food waiting when we asked for Extra Bowl to Share, the Waiter didn't, say anything but gave a unpleasant Expression. He got us the bowl and walked back away to the kitchen, even Charge us more for the customer service. Oh also the Portion, for the Pho Toppings was Less like what the heck?. On the Pho there's 2 Meat and less noodles even on the combination it's Less as well, if you guys want to have more people don't be Uptight, with the Ingredients the more you give, the blessing come. That's what I've learned, even other places give more toppings the same amount of the, food.

Yelp
Their pho, egg rolls, spring rolls, and chicken w/ noodles are much better than Banh Mi. If you are trying to decide between these places go here.
google avatar

Chase L.

Yelp
Such good food and friendly staff. I plan my trips so that I'm passing by around lunch time and I always stop in for lunch and am never disappointed. My wife is not a fan of Pho in general but she enjoys the curries with rice. I like to try different things each time.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the rice noodles with sautéed beef and it is absolutely delicious! Great price, quick pickup, I definitely recommend trying this dish!
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
Edit: I went back, because my boyfriend wanted pho and i wanted to try something else on the menu. I went with the chicken yellow curry. It only had chicken and potatoes in it. the chicken was very dry and the potato tasted like a hash brown (crispy on the outside soft on the inside). I think that they pan fried the chicken and potatoes then put it in the curry, hence the dry chicken and crispy potato. The curry was a little oily and bland. I also ordered a side of sausage which was pretty decent. Tasted like the Chinese sausage my mom would get from the grocery store. It was sliced and cooked well! I really tried to give this place a second chance but eh not a fan! My boyfriends pho wasn't oily this time though!

Yelp
Green leaf was pretty good but they made two fatal mistakes in my to-go order. One was that the spring rolls didn't taste fresh. I suspect that they placed the rolls on top of my hot food which gave them a texture and taste that made me toss them in the trash. The second mistake is that my boba coconut drink was served lukewarm. I don't know about you but I always see ice in my boba drink. No ice here. Just straight up liquid. Instead of a nice refreshment. It made for awkward temperature and taste. Everything else was delicious.

Heidi F.

Yelp
Got flank and meatball pho and egg rolls for takeout. As someone who moved from a city known for their pho, this is a sad, sad excuse. Portions are tiny and not worth the price. Egg rolls look like they could be the ones from the Purdue dining hall. Pho is edible, but it is not good. Weak broth, three meatballs in a large portion, and barely any herbs.

Yelp
If I could take a star away and rate this a zero I would. I can't blame the second visit on my wife. I wanted PHÓ so I decided since I didn't actually eat the last time I was here I would order what they have and give a complete review. For starters RUDE waiter/server, yes one in the same. Let's just call this dude the beatnik. He took our drink orders by saying can I get you guys waters? We both said yes but I ordered a Thai Tea as well. As he dropped my TT off my wife attempted to get his attention but was ignored. He returned with our waters and my wife stated she was trying to get his attention to order something else and his response was "ok so tell me". Just seemed off putting. We ordered the pork dumplings and I ordered the Green Leaf Special PHÓ, my wife ordered the flank and round PHÓ. The drinks were delivered and the raspberry tea my wife ordered was like juice not tea, the Thai Tea was package product not made from scratch. The dumplings which I expected to maybe be pan seared but steamed, these were fried hard all the way around, 2 out of 5 and don't attempt with chop sticks. While eating apps we surveyed the dining room. Walls by our table were disgusting. The ceiling had water stains and there was clutter on tables close to the register. There was also a sliding glass door fridge in the dining room which a cook came and retrieved items from items from multiple times. Food arrived and the broth was more akin to water than broth, I have seriously had better from a box. First observation of mine was lacking. My PHÓ the house special all the meat, flank, round, tripe, meat ball, chicken and shrimp. There was no flank, two shrimp, 3 slivers of shredded chicken and two meat ball quarters. It all seemed bland, no color on the meat and just no flavor. I added the cilantro, basil, jalapeño and bean chutes. Another taste called for salt, pepper and a heavy dose of sriracha. Both my wife and I ordered a large but my bowl was twice the size and not for meat sake, crowds of noodles. I would never ever ever order this PHÓ or any other from GL again, it's a waste of $38.00 w/tip. Leave this place to the college crowd and hopefully they will go out of business.

Yelp
Only went once and on my own, but appreciated the tasty pho, friendly service, and nice space.

Yelp
Summary: Recommend, but don't expect to be wow'd Location: Good Decor: Good Food: Okay Price: Good Service: Meh Details: I have to start by stating that I love my Bun Bo's more than I like regular pho. The fact that this Vietnamese restaurant didn't have it was a small disappointment but I was willing to let that pass, if their pho was great. What disappointed me more was when out server told me that I could add sriracha to the pho and it tastes just like its spicy cousin. Not true. I was not impressed by the pho either. The side veggies were not even washed I felt like. The pho was lacking in flavor and did not bring any joy, like Vietnamese food usually does. The place was packed, so maybe it could have just been the food that I got which was subpar. Or maybe, folks didn't have a better option anywhere nearby. Whatever the reason, I don't think the pho will ever draw me back. Prices were reasonable, especially for a college campus. Very disappointed with the service. They were barely there, didn't respond to requests for water. Had to put in multiple requests. I also didn't like how our server shouted out to us from across the room to come to a table.

Yelp
It's a good hole-in-the-wall place to casually meet up with good friends. The place itself is kind of hidden away and not quite in view. If you know where Pint is at RiverMarket Apartments (the bar across the street from McDonald's and Triple X), just continue down the walk along the building, pass Kibu Cafe and the hookah place, and it's the last restaurant. Super casual, and you might have to pull chairs and tables around because of the crowds during the busy hours. During those dinner rushes/lunch times, service may be a bit slow. Food is decent. Lots of options and things you can adjust. I'm not as much of a man, because a lot of the things have the exact same flavor profile. It doesn't take long for different appetizers to taste the same as your entree, depending on what you order (ex. spring rolls then pho). Which, honestly, not surprising. That's just how it is. I'm just not a big fan of it. But the food is good and filling, and it's a great place to go with friends. Bubble tea and boba are the same as any other place. Let's face it, pretty much everyone in the area uses the same powder for taro milk tea. Finally, I suggest going for the pho rather than the rice plates. I find a lot of the grilled meat options here rather dry and/or one-note. Go up to the cashier to pay. Be aware that this place is usually almost always just filled exclusively by college students. Unsurprisingly. It's also quite popular as a hangout and gets crowded really quickly. Even those hours you think are peaceful can suddenly get extremely busy and loud, so I don't suggest working on things here.

Rich R.

Yelp
This place is awful and overpriced. Don't waste your money on the iced Vietnamese coffee. Unless you want to spend $10 on what tastes like instant coffee mix and to make worse, only a half glass. The $15.95 pork chop and sausage was only average. The curry dishes below average. In the end it was over $100 bill for a below average meal. Adding more: one day later my wife has diarrhea. Did anyone else have trouble after the chicken on Sunday 2/13?
google avatar

Tabitha B.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here so we ordered 4 different dishes. I ordered carry out and only had to wait about 15 min. I was craving Pho but was disappointed in the lack of flavor. It wasn't bad but the broth and meat didn't have much flavor. Once I added some sauce it was good but I preferred to not have to put anything in my pho. I did get it to go so that might have been why. The portion size was good and they did a great job of separating everything for me to be able to travel. We also got two rice dishes one was pork it was good but I wouldn't order it again. The star of the show was the rice with beef cube. The meat was cooked perfectly extremity flavorful and all the side items were very fresh. The atmosphere was very nice with a mix of students, families and patrons of all ages. I would eat here again but wouldn't for pho.

Yelp
Sauteed chicken rice made me homesick!! It tasted something like chicken rice (雞肉飯)in Taiwan but with XO sauce (salty dry fish and scallop sauce). This dish caught the delicate balance between of seafood saltness and chicken savory with peanut fragrance. Green onion on the rice was also a genuine combination of Asian taste. I took out the rest of my rice and crazed for more next time. Spring rolls were large and fresh. The sauce for rolls was so great that I used it up! Cornish chicken was another awesome pick! It was savory and tender.

Yelp
I enjoyed myself at Green Leaf. I was once a student at Purdue and have since moved here permanently to raise our family. I have always loved pho and was disappointed when there were no real options in town. The Union has a small place called Lemongrass, but it offers very little variety and you get what you get when ordering their one pho option. This little place is hidden away, so I never experienced it as a student. I wish I had known! The pho was super tasty, savory broth, and they had several options to pick from. They also had a pretty big menu selection of other items, if you aren't interested in pho. We ordered our little one the pork dumplings. We stole a bite and they were delicious, with or without their yummy dipping sauce. My husband and I both tried their Signature pho and we were not disappointed. The serving was generous, noodles were nicely cooked, and the broth was super savory. The Signature pho lets you try a little of everything (chicken, flank, tripe, shrimp) but you are more than welcome to "create your own." They also bring out a plate of clean, fresh vegetables to add in as you see fit (sprouts, lime, jalapenos, cilantro, basil). I also tried their Thai tea with pearls and I liked it just fine. My daughter ended up drinking more than me, but I would order it again. Nothing "unique" compared to other bubble teas, but it tasted good. For our entire dinner we paid $29, so super affordable. Service was a little show, we waited for our check for quite some time, but other than that we will definitely be back again.

Yelp
They are the only PHO in West Lafayette as far as I know, and as someone who loved Pho I am just disappointed in them. Last time my friend ordered flank Pho with extra flank, and altogether there were only 3 pieces of flanks in his dish, and it costed 17 dollars.
google avatar

Yelp
Go to pho place in West Lafayette! I always get the #13 large and it's always fast, cheap, and delicious! Their bubble tea tastes good and they have a nice selection of flavors. Ive always wanted to try the other rice dishes and appetizers they have to offer, but I keep coming back for the pho. The place is CROWDED at lunchtime on the weekends, so service can be a little slow. I'd definitely recommend this place. A local, inexpensive place for good food!
google avatar

Sophie S.

Yelp
I absolutely love Green Leaf! I'm still shocked at all the negative reviews though. To a college student, Green Leaf is ideal. It's inexpensive, and the food is tasty and flavorful. Green Leaf's pho is the best hands down. It's filling, the broth is rich and has great portions. I have never been disappointed in the quality of food. Green Leaf also has a variety of bubble tea at a reasonable price, and generous portions as well. I even took out of state students to Green Leaf and they all agreed that the pho was one of the best. The only downside to Green Leaf is the service, which is understandable because it is so popular. I would definitely avoid going on a Sunday night, as dining courts are closed and many students venture down to Green Leaf. The service is decent, however I always feel rushed because they are always trying to serve the huge crowds they come. If it does get too busy, such as the weekend for dinner, you may not be served for another 30 minutes. Besides service, I would definitely recommend Green Leaf! Especially if you're just visiting West Lafayette, as it is one of the better restaurants for Pho or Vietnamese food! :)

Yelp
FIRST OF ALL, their staff has forgotten to put my order in on three separate occasions. I can understand a mistake every once in awhile, but this is just too much. I've wasted so much time sitting there for food that isn't even going to come. They gave us 20% off once after we waited an hour and half just to get food. Their service is extremely slow in general because I feel like they are extremely understaffed for the size of crowd they get, during their dinner hours especially. I only come here because I love pho and the cravings are real. I love pho but their pho is so bad. It's tasteless and lacking in portion of meats. The side veggies (bean sprouts, lime, cilantro, basil, and jalapeños) don't always look very fresh or ever tasteful and you barely get any. They cut their limes into such small halves of a normal slice and you only get one or two. Their other foods in general is just ok. I just feel like they're really stingy on portions and what they give you. We ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls and there wasn't even pork in it!

Hao X.

Yelp
Their service is slow AF. We arrived today at 12:50 and we got some drink at 13:40 and got our meal at 13:45. If you don't mind waiting extra longer time this is a ok place. After we checked out I found my card was over charged. I only ordered a rice noodle about 11$ and a Diet Coke. The bill charged to my card today was 20$. They force you to make a selection on tips for at least 15%. You can do the math.

Hugo M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the beef pho I got (#13 on the menu), but the thai boba tea and spring roll left more to be desired. That being said, I would come back if I craved Pho!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Greater Lafayette. Pho is always a good choice here, and I also enjoy the curry dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Cheap and filling Vietnamese rice noodle dishes and pho. While this place may struggle in a more urban area, it was a pleasant vibe in the sometimes chain-food area that can be West Lafayette. Ordered a beef dish with rice noodles and demolished it, paid a little over $10. The pho is also pretty good according to my friends and fairly inexpensive.

Yelp
Usually I would rate Green Leaf 4 stars compared to the surrounding restaurants in the surrounding area. They have pretty good food and service for the price. However for this visit, it's a different story. We got here around 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and put in our orders promptly. We always get the signature because it has all the types of protein on their menu with a big bowl of noodle soup. Right now it's 2:30 and I am writing this review. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen, but waiting for over an hour to get food is pretty ridiculous. Also, a guest who came in later than us got his food served first. We hope we get our food soon!

Yelp
Met my buddy for lunch. He got #18 (chicken pho). I had beef. Excellent. Parking when Purdue is in session might be more challenging.

Yelp
Green Leaf is the best place to get pho at Purdue! My friends and I always come here when it is cold, rainy, we are sick, or just craving yummy pho. They have a good selection of pho and the prices are very fair! I haven't really tried anything else on the menu because the pho is that good, but I probably will soon! The staff is laid back and helpful, and the environment is clean and relaxed. For affordable and delicious pho Green Leaf is my go to!

Yelp
Service is very very very very slow, inefficient and rude especially one of the Asian guy waiter . I am curious wether he is only rude to asians or not. Food is ok, no surprise, no disappointment Price is ok. Also The kitchen never care about your special instruction. Told them every time NO cilantro!!!! They never did it :-)

Yelp
Great food and generally great service. However, the guy who always wears a beanie is ALWAYS in a foul mood. I momentarily sat in a chair at a larger table while waiting for the smaller table to be cleaned, and he stared me down from across the room, said "NO" loudly while wagging his finger. We weren't trying to take the larger table, and even if we were that's not how you talk to customers--especially not people who regularly frequent the establishment. If that guy hates his job so much, he should find a different t one.

Yelp
I have tasted spoiled chicken several times from this place, so it is very true that they serve you spoiled rotten chicken, the diarrhea is also very true, as a matter of fact I'm typing this live from my toilet seat right now.

Yelp
I come here pretty often and I felt that they are fairly consistent with their food and service. The pho is hands down the best you'll probably find at Purdue and their service is decent. In addition, their rice plates are very respectable. There have been a few rare hiccups on the restaurant's part. Once, my friends and I waited about 45 minutes for our food. Another time, the pho barely had any broth in it (the manager graciously gave us more brother). These hiccups are very rare, however, and it has not deterred from me from going back. Also, their Thai tea is amazing!

Yelp
I was excited to see pho in Lafayette so ordered Pho Tai Nam and spring rolls to go. However, when I got home my pho had pieces of fatty beef and TRIPE everywhere which I really dislike. I had to pick it all out. The broth was pretty bland. The spring rolls had a ton of chopped iceberg lettuce, some shrimp and pork, and the lettuce was wilted. Overall, not a good experience since my order was messed up and the food was rather bland/not fresh.

Yelp
Greenleaf is one of my favorite restaurants on campus! The combination pho is my go to on cold days - it always warms me up and the flavor is great. I definitely recommend adding the veggies to the soup for a nice variety of flavors. If I want to mix it up, I'll order the rice noodles with egg rolls and pork skewers or the yellow chicken curry. I also love the pork and shrimp spring rolls! They're light and refreshing. The service is always great, all of the servers are very kind and polite. I have noticed that if I go at peak dinner hours (5-7), it tends to take a little longer for the food to come out. This makes sense because they seem a bit understaffed, but regardless I always enjoy my food when it arrives! I would recommend going for lunch or at times when it's less busy for the best dining experience.

Yelp
Around Greater Lafayette this is the only place to get Pho. Maybe I haven't found another one, I don't know. Their Pho is good, being the only one around I go there often. We taken friends there and they seem to like it as well. Favorite appetizer are the Shrimp and prok spring rolls and the Pork dumplings. T(he Pork Chop meal is really good. It's well cooked and a lot of my friends really like it. Bubble tea - in my opinion their bubble teas is one of the better ones in town. I've tried a few other bubble teas around here but personally I prefer Green Leaf. I will say that the quality of the bubble tea depends on when you go. I'll explain under service. Service - I do feel like they are understaffed especially during lunch and dinner. For that reason during those times it does take longer to get your food. The bubble tea takes forever when it's busy! Since it's so rushed it taste really bad. During peak hours it's packed and the ambiance feels so rushed. If you go on a not so crowded day service is usually good. They do offer beer.

Yelp
Amazing!! First time eating here and definitely in the top 3 asian restaurants on campus. Authentic pho and great service. The staff were kind and the food was filling! P.S. the signature pho is spectacular and can definitely fill up 2 people.

Yelp
First time here yesterday and it proved to be a great lunch spot. Good crowd and very friendly service. A great lunch combo of Shrimp Pho and a Thai tea. The pho soup is accompanied by a plate of fresh cilantro limes bean sprouts and sliced jalapenos so you can modify to your liking. Very hearty and flavorful soup. Look forward to a future return trip while in West Lafayette.

Yelp
Tonight was my second time getting food from this restaurant. The first time I got the tofu soup. Tonight, I called in an order for pick up & asked what vegetarian options they had. The girl told me all of their soups are made with beef broth so none of those would be an option. Which didn't make much sense to me to offer a tofu (meatless option) and be made with beef broth. So I asked what else she recommended. She told me about a rice and tofu dish so I went with that. Super disappointed with it. It is a pile of white rice, shredded iceberg lettuce and extremely dry tofu with a side of soy sauce. The sauce was good but the tofu was so dry it was inedible. As soon as I got home and ate it I called to tell them that the tofu was extremely dry. She asked if I wanted a refund or another food option and I said it did not matter either way. The lady put me on hold and came back to explain to me that tofu is fried which makes it crispy and that next time I can order more sauce. I told her it wasn't crispy it was extremely dry and completely tasteless even with using the sauce they provided. Very disappointed with the food and their response to any criticism of their take on a vegetarian dish.
