We stayed at Green Park Resort in Chitwan and overall had a great experience, especially with the activities and guiding. The front desk personnel felt a bit transactional compared to the warmth we experienced elsewhere in Nepal, but the staff member who coordinated the programs—and especially Ravi—were very friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in our stay. The resort arranged a guide for us named Hem, who accompanied us for bird watching and both of our safaris. He was fantastic. With his biologist background, he had deep knowledge of the local plants and wildlife, and he could spot and identify birds before we even realized they were there. He made sure we saw and learned as much as possible about Chitwan’s flora and fauna. Highly recommend requesting him as your guide.
The buffet food was consistently good, and the dining staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The bar staff were also welcoming and present without being intrusive, letting us enjoy quiet conversation.
Our room was huge and included an exterior balcony overlooking agricultural land—great for bird watching right from the room. Everything was clean, the beds were firm but comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. One item to note: removing the key card when leaving turns off all power to the room, including the bathroom fan. If you shower in the morning and leave for the day, you may return to a musty room even with the patio door left open.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Green Park Resort, especially for travelers flying in, as the drive from Kathmandu is long and quite bumpy.
