Green Park Chitwan

Had 3 excellent nights at this hotel. They organised as part of the package the tours of the national park,river and surrounding area of nature. We had the most excellent and attentive guide with driver in a small ranger transportation. So lucky to see a tiger and rhinos as well as the other bountiful wildlife and local villages. Food at the hotel and attention of service by all the staff was excellent. Thanks for a great and very memorable time.

Stayed for three days. Best jungle stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was too good. Dinner they had buffet option. Tea that we had for snack was not good. Swimming pool was clean and had a good time. The resort itself arranges for show, which is little costly (as we can donate it to the people who danced). It’s better we go and get it by ourselves and donate. Otherwise good stay and best experience.

Caution for Future Guests – Disappointing Experience with Billing at Green Park Hotel, Chitwan We recently stayed at Green Park Hotel in Chitwan and had a disappointing experience, especially regarding billing and customer service. On the day of our stay, the room rate was listed as NPR 6000 on Booking.com. We called the hotel directly and agreed on a rate of NPR 5000 per night. However, at checkout, we were unexpectedly charged NPR 8000. Despite repeatedly reminding them of our verbal agreement, the staff refused to honor it and responded rudely. We also had dinner for five people — only one person had the buffet and a small amount of alcohol, while the others had simple vegetarian meals. Still, the food bill came to NPR 13,000, which felt excessive for what we ordered. Altogether, the total bill (room + food) was NPR 21,000. After the disagreement over the room rate and the unhelpful attitude of the staff, we chose not to argue further. This experience left us feeling misled and disappointed. While the hotel may have a good reputation in some areas, our personal experience showed a lack of transparency and respect for guests. If you plan to stay here, be cautious — confirm all agreements in writing and review your bills carefully. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and works on improving guest relations and fair business practices.

This resort is self-contained. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The restaurant has many buffet options for each meal. There are several outdoor seating areas, including the pool and bar. You can choose how to structure your visit with a variety of activities. A great place for singles, couple and families. A safari in the early morning or late afternoon would be better than the mid-afternoon safari we had. But, we enjoyed the safari too. The resort is outside of Chitwan but we didn't feel like we were missing anything.

The food was an amazing buffet of Indian and American food for every meal. The staff was kind, considerate and professional. The hotel tours of Chitwan were amazing and they were eager to change the itinerary with minimal up charge so we could do an extra safari. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All in all a wonderful experience

However, when it was time to check out, I was shocked to find the price had changed. The final bill was significantly higher than what was agreed upon. When I brought this up with the staff, they were evasive and offered no reasonable explanation. This kind of behavior felt dishonest and manipulative. Additionally, we ordered food during our stay, and again, the pricing on the bill did not match the menu prices or what we were initially told. We were overcharged, and the staff was unhelpful when we questioned it. This felt like a pattern, not just a mistake. It’s important to be very cautious here — always get everything in writing and double-check every bill. Room Cleanliness and Comfort: At first glance, the rooms appeared clean, but once we settled in, we noticed several cockroaches. This was extremely off-putting and unacceptable for a hotel that markets itself as a high-standard establishment. Furthermore, the bed was quite uncomfortable, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. For the price they charge, you would expect basic cleanliness and comfort — sadly, both were lacking. Overall Impression: I have traveled extensively around the world and stayed in a wide range of hotels — from budget to luxury — and I have rarely encountered this level of dishonesty and poor service. Chitwan Green Park may have a decent appearance on the outside, but beneath the surface, it’s a place that misleads its guests, overcharges them, and fails to deliver on even the most basic hospitality standards. Final Verdict: This hotel is not worth the money, and I would not recommend it to other travelers. There are many better, more honest places to stay in Chitwan. Be very cautious if you do decide to book here — always confirm everything in writing, and don’t expect much in terms of comfort, cleanliness, or food quality.
