I usually don't write reviews, but this retreat genuinely deserves one.
I spent a week at Green Peace Inn on a yoga, meditation, and breathwork retreat, and I've rarely experienced this level of care and thoughtfulness anywhere.
From a practical point of view: I have a gluten intolerance (including non-wheat grains) and don't tolerate lentils or chickpeas well. Not only was this taken seriously, but the kitchen went out of their way to cook separate dishes and prepare individual plates for me throughout the week. I have honestly never experienced that level of attentiveness before, and it made a huge difference to how supported I felt.
The retreat itself was beautifully structured. Each day we were introduced to different tools and approaches: yoga, meditation, conscious connected breathing, and pranayama, all woven together in a way that felt coherent and deeply respectful of individual experience. Alex brings a lot of depth and authenticity to his work, drawing from his own long personal journey, and the breathwork sessions in particular were powerful and very carefully held. The music and playlists during the sessions were exceptional and clearly chosen with great care.
What stood out to me most is that the work didn't end when the retreat ended. In the days afterwards, continuing with breathwork and meditation on my own made it very clear how powerful and accessible these tools are beyond the retreat setting itself.
All of this took place in an atmosphere of warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness, something that seems to come very naturally here, and perhaps also reflects the spirit of Sri Lanka itself.
I arrived curious rather than looking for change, and I left feeling nourished, grounded, and quietly enriched. I'm very grateful for the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well-held space to explore yoga, meditation, and breathwork.
