"Discovering Biodiversity in Green Point Park The Green Point Park and Biodiversity Garden is tucked behind Green Point Stadium near the Atlantic seaboard. Because Cape Town (and South Africa) is a biodiversity hotspot, the creation of this park was an essential part of the 2010 World Cup planning in this area of the city. If you're curious what people are talking about when they mention "fynbos" and the "Cape Floral Kingdom", this is the place to find the answer. It’s a 12.5 hectare area that includes a rolling lawn and a fantastic biodiversity garden. There is a pond with water that flows underneath (and next to) parts of the main walkway that the kids love to run through and play in. I can tell the city invested a lot in this park, and it’s a nice place to bringing the whole family for a picnic. If you need to find a place to pick up food, try New York Bagel in Sea Point for deli style sandwiches or the Woolworths Food at the V&A Waterfront."

We had a very nice time today at Greenpoint Park. Our school had our end of year picnic with our students and they had tons of fun. There was alot of other groups at the park having their end of year functions. There was ample of space to move around. We walked around the nature reserve and it was absolutely amazing. It was some of the students first time at Greenpoint Park and they were in awe of the beauty, the space and the beautiful Park or play area. We made use of the benches to sit on as well as our camp chairs that we brought with. We really had a great time.

The park is open for picnics and just to enjoy a day at the park with the kids. There are various different parks for the kids to play. Various open spaces with benches to sit. Various history pieces throughout the park. Very nice place for photo shoots as well. The place does tend to get full as the days progresses but it really is a beautiful place to spend the day at

Green Point Park is a beautiful, family-friendly space with something for everyone. It features indigenous gardens, plenty of birds, fun jungle gyms for kids, and a safe, fenced area for dogs. The on-site café has nice options, and they serve Popco lollies, which are vegan and vegetarian. A peaceful, well-kept escape in the heart of the city!

This is such a beautiful spot to have a walk and have lunch under a tree and it's free. There is so much to see. Beautiful birds, fish, frogs, tadpoles and so much more. The view is spectacular.

Green Point park is a lovely family park with a rich biodiversity. Beautiful to see the array of plants and trees and learn as you take a walk through specific areas. The humorous plaques are cute found amongst the shrubs. The playground areas are designed for small and bigger kids. I do find it disturbing that teenagers are playing among the little one infringing on the space designed for them. I however do not feel safe with the hovering unofficial car guards.

The best park in Cape Town. Plenty of open spaces, multiple playgrounds for toddlers and children, a cafe for the adults. Location is also perfect. Depending on your fitness level you can walk to Seapoint, Cape Town Stadium, and the waterfront

Beautiful, well maintained urban park in the Green Point area of Cape Town. Several play areas for children. Lots of walking trails with interpretive signage about the plantings in the biodiversity and wetland areas. The presence of a cafe in the park is a highlight! July 2, 2025 C & J
