Good common areas, nice breakfast, good location, nice and clean, good water pressure. Dorm rooms a bit tight for the number of beds.

If you try to book a private room here you will be scammed. I had a reservation of a family room with supposedly a balcony and city views, split in two levels (that’s the one they use to promote their rooms on Booking and here). When I got there the guy at the reception tricked me into to doing the check-in well aware the room I had booked and paid for was not available (so no refund from them). I got put into a dormitory with bunk beds in the back of the hostel with a translucent door (not possible to see through without opening it, no views) to a backyard of other peoples apartments. From the beginning the guy was very rude, telling me that there was no mistake with the room: “you get what you get”. Even knowing the room was not the one I had booked, he wouldn’t even apologise, making me feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. The next day passing by him in the morning he yelled at me for having eaten in the communal space, screaming at me to the extent I had to tell him to calm down. I was really scared and started shaking from the whole incident. Apart from that, it is not a pet friendly hostel, not allowing your pet to stay with you in the common area. It might look “cool” in the pictures but don’t be deceived by that. Look for something better as there are a lot of places in Cuenca, and better prices too. I had to leave after one night in this place of fear of how I would be treated there after getting yelled at (and assigned the wrong room). I’ve never in my life experienced, in any country, such a horrendous treatment of a guest.

Fantastic location situated next to the Green River! 10 minute walk to the Old Town and 5 minute walk into the town centre and all its amenities. The hostel is very modern, super clean. It has been very well thought out regarding bed linen, pillows, individual bed lights, plugs, laundry, hairdryers etc… The free breakfast was a bonus! Unlimited coffee, tea, toast, cereal, juice from 8.30am -10am. The common area on the 1st floor was very comfortable and lead to an outdoor terrace. The receptionist was extremely helpful and very friendly and gave us so much valuable information as it was our first time visiting Cuenca. We parked outside the hostel for free on a Sunday until 9am the following morning. Beautiful building with wooden beams and lots of original features. The ground floor dining area is fully equipped to be able to take your own food and heat it up. Coffee and tea is available throughout the day for only 50cents. I would recommend this hostel to everyone visiting Cuenca! I cannot fault this hostel! 10/10!

Excellent location, literally 10min walk to the old town. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, great lady working there that gave us lots of information. The lady was very kind. You could go in at any time, lovely clean modern rooms and bathrooms, everything you needed, hairdryer, washing facilities. Breakfast was included too.

The receptionist is lovely. The kitchen, rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was coffee, a selection of teas, toast, cereal and prepackaged muffins. It’s also a good walking distance to everything. There are lockers under the bed, but they are small so don’t rely on them. ||||Overall, it was a relaxed environment and a lovely view.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Green River for a night on our way from Madrid to Valencia. It is spotlessly clean, has basic kitchen facilities for guests to use (toaster/fridge/microwave/cutlery/utensils) and laundry facilities for the small fee of €2 per wash/dry. ||The room was spacious (we stayed in a private ‘family’ room), with a comfy bed and really powerful, hot shower. The bathroom in the room isn’t very private, but there are separate toilets in the corridor if you want more privacy! ||The owner, Juan, was really lovely - very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, a 10/15 minute walk to the old town and 5 minutes to the main shopping street. I’d definitely recommend this hostel, very good value for money.
