Google
Classy and cozy- and absolutely hopping when I visited, so clearly beloved by the community. Elaborate and sophisticated drinks that may be a bit high priced, but they also offer free pizza every night while supplies last.

I love love LOVE this place! Speakeasy vibes but the bartenders are the nicest people on the planet. Not to mention I’ve had the best drinks of my life here. Kind of a hidden gem in NoHo but honestly amazing. And they have FREE cheese pizza! Def recommend.

Google
This is a brilliant cocktail bar, in a fine atmosphere! They serve complimentary pizzas until they last. Highly recommended!

Google
This bar is really something special. The staff members are completely lovely - so friendly and conversational and generous. The ambiance is more sophisticated than you’d expect to find in Northampton, without being even the slightest bit pretentious. The drinks are fantastic, and the pizza (when they have it) is top notch. The non-alcoholic cocktails are incredible, too!

Google
I have been coming to the Green Room for years and have always had delicious and unique cocktails with wonderful service. Now they have added great pizza, free for the classic pie, with all the drinks. Northampton is lucky to have this fantastic bar.

Google
This is a sleek elegant bar with craft cocktails. The server was very nice and the drinks were very good but very pricey. A gin and tonic and a bourbon cocktail cost $30. That is steep…

Google
For an upscale cocktail bar, the bartender looked like he was out of a 90s grunge movie and played the most annoying pop punk music ever. He still took care of the customers though. I almost left until I opened the menu. These cocktails were impressive, so I had to try it for myself. The glasses alone were stellar and based on the drinks and even coaster choice, i would totally come back. Even the garnishes were on point. Aesthetics were on point and drinks were fabulous. Giving it 4 stars because the drinks are THAT good and never judge a book by its cover.

Amazing bartender who definitely knew what he was doing! The complimentary pizza was so good I forgot to take a picture of it because we ate it so fast! 😂

Yelp
I had loved this gem of a cocktail bar, and frequented often. When they made the decision to close, I was sad - but then happy to learn they were soon under new management post-Covid. Unfortunately, the relaxed ambiance of the past now long gone. The bar had ridiculously loud music, so loud my friend and I were screaming at each other and we could barely hear the bartender, and vice versa. It was not a fun experience, especially for expensive craft cocktails.

Yelp
Loved the cocktails! Excellent gin martinis and delicious sazerac. Perfect pre or post dinner hangout.

Yelp
Oh. My. Goodness. Kayma is amazing, let her make you whatever she wants and you will thank me later.

Yelp
Fantastic drink, plus fun showmanship. Can't speak for food, we already ate and there were very few places open after we got out of the Tunnel Bar. We wanted a decent drink and didn't want to travel. Yelp reviews are spot on! This was 1/3 mile away. You want a solid drink then Kale will deliver! He makes a delicious drink but it is a treat to watch the process! Sounds funny, but there is a lot of science going on with this bartending. He is an artist. Sunday night was dead and a great time to go! Weekends are packed and wall to wall. You will not get a better cocktail in the area. This is a NYC level cocktail bar.

Yelp
Excellent spot. Stopped her for a couple of cocktails before dinner. on a snowy wednesday night, we were the only people there at 6 before a couple others joined. Excellent bartender with solid suggestions as well as recommendations for dinner both in NoHa and in Easthampton where he was from.

Yelp
Expertly handcrafted cocktails served with style. Harry and his gang create an ever changing delicious cocktail menu and will also make you anything you can dream up. Like bourbon and citrus flavors? Piece of cake. Like champagne with perfumy aromas? Done. Want a cocktail with gin that will make you feel like you're on vacation in a 1950s Caribbean resort? They can whip something up tout de suite. Definitely sit at the bar so you can get them to riff off of different drink ideas with you. I've been a few times with regulars who like to visit in the off hours. Early at opening and during dinner time is good. I've heard it gets more hectic later after dinner and good cocktails understandably take time. Green Room is a wonderful gem of a cocktail cave in the area. Give it a go.

Yelp
Really nice time at the Green Room this evening. Interesting drinks but I went with the basic Bees Knees (not the weird milk and cereal one on their menu) and another gin drink. Guys working there were helpful with suggestions for Northampton dinner places. Cute space, would def go back.

Yelp
I enjoy cocktail bars where it's all about the drink, and everything else is obligated to take a back seat, even the seating. If need be, send one person to the bar to place the order while the rest of you grab the better seats among what's currently available. The regular drink menu is really interesting, but check out the specials on the blackboard too. This is a great place for a small group to go for drinks, though larger groups might find it difficult to get space together, otherwise they stand. Even so, savor your concoction - or several, if your blood alcohol content will permit that.

Yelp
Wide range of awesome cocktails! Inviting and energetic atmosphere. Bowen has been behind the bar all four times we've been. He's a friendly, skillful, and knowledgeable bartender who makes the experience welcoming and fun. Our favorite place to grab cocktails in Northampton. The cocktails are well thought-out and top-notch. The bar offers frequent specials and classic cocktails and works off-menu as well.

Yelp
Very nice cocktail bar serving up classics and new creations at very reasonable prices considering the ingredients. We stopped in and had one of the bartenders whip us up a couple of Remember the Maines. Very well prepared and of a nice size. I also tried the Falcone, which was rye, bonal and mole bitters. A semi-spicy and tasty drink billed as a 'high octane Manhattan' which it certainly was. After dinner we came back and I tired the Italian Stallion which was prepared with bourbon, Montenegro, lemon cinnamon simple and angostura. Another very well-prepared and delicious cocktail. The ladies all had the Honorary Gardener which was London Dry, cucumber, lemon juice, simple, St. Germain and club soda. This was a big hit and reordered a few times. I noticed they were also featuring cocktails from other establishments like E.O.'s Billionaire. My only issues with this establishment was the odd policy of having to order at the bar and then someone brings you the drinks and that it was far too loud in the space to have a conversation as it got quite raucous and with all the hard surfaces you could barely hear the person next to you.

Yelp
First time coming here Saturday night. I don't drink cocktails too much, but I knew this place was known for them. My friends and I went to check it out. It has a speakeasy kind of vibe a little dark inside but a cool ambiance to it. Nice big bar with 3 expert mixologists manning it. My 2 friends got some custom cocktails which did take some time to make but that's understandable. I got a simple beer, not much of a cocktail drinker. The place was by no means full when we got there but it did take a while to get served. We all enjoyed our drinks but don't expect fast service here as it takes time to make all the fancy cocktails and such. The bartender's were all very friendly and talkative. Come here and check it out if in the area.

Yelp
This is one of my bf and I's favorite cocktail haunts in Northampton. Super strong drinks made with great attention to detail. Their menu changes every so often and they are more than willing to make you something that's not on the menu. Last night I asked for a sweeter rum drink. The bartender, who has served us multiple times there, was excited to create a 'weird rum drink with a little sweetness' for me and made me one of the strongest drinks of my life, haha. It was very smooth with almond hints, like, and simple syrup. My bf loves their whiskey sours with the egg white, which makes for a nice foam that lingers as your drink. It's a busy place after 8 on Friday and Saturday nights, but they have ample space. We always love sitting at the bar, and the ambiance of the place is super cool. There is always some unique film clip or video playing that gives the place a hip vibe.

Yelp
I am a big fan of the Green Room. I have been in several times and always enjoy myself. For me Green room is a 5 star candidate but I am knocking off 1 star because of the menu. It's not large enough. When I first started going to the Green Room they had a menu theme of doing Prohibition era cocktails. They dropped that and now have some suggested cocktails, all of which are very good, but are on a pretty small and relatively short menu... Compared to a place like the Tunnel Bar, with a large and great cocktail menu, ... well the menus just don't compare, even if the cocktails, service and value do compare very well. I have been in with my kids and their friends and they don't always know what to order... Anyway, all that said they will make you whatever you want, and I go off menu all the time. They even made me a caipirinha! So feel free to order from the menu, or order off the menu, go in and have them make your favorites, or have them make something special for you. I am certain, you will love whatever you get. The atmosphere is cool and the location is right next to the Iron Horse. Service is good, but sometimes they do not offer table service. Also, since the drinks are so well made, painstakingly so, sometimes it takes a little while for the drinks to come out. That said, I love watching these guys work! It is entertainment in and of itself. Prices are on the higher side so be prepared and don't squawk because the drinks are fantastic and pack a punch. The bottom line is that The Green Room delivers value. I totally recommend The Green Room.

Yelp
The Green Room is like an itch that's finally been scratched~~ So that's what was missing in Northampton all this time! FINALLY an honest-to-goodness craft cocktail bar in Noho.. and the GR is a bar that takes its craft seriously in the style of the best speakeasies/cocktail bars in NYC (as my liver can personally attest to). The "craft" of cocktail making is all about precision and an attention to time-tested recipes with an emphasis on using the best ingredients be they house-pressed juices, home-grown bitters, syrups or small-batch spirits. Harry (an excellent bartender I met while he tended at the Lumberyard in Amherst) and Noreen (by way of Chez Albert) are both great and will skillfully mix your cocktail of choice using choice ingredients from their varied and excellent menu. Current favorites: 1) the PENICILLIN -scotch whiskey, lemon, honey, ginger, topped with a Laphroaig float for peat&smoke to achieve an almost medicinal depth to the sweet base.. from the famed Milk & Honey in NY 2) the PINK LADY -gin, applejack, house grenadine, lemon and egg white.. a well-balanced sweet cocktail that's easy to drink and popular among my female friends.. ok, I like it too geez

Yelp
There are very few old school (and I mean Golden Age) cocktail establishments on the planet. Places where artists work. The Swizzle Stick in New Orleans. Bar One in New York. The Red Star and The Whiskey Library in Portland, Oregon. At all I've found masters of the Art. I just experienced two of the best cocktails I've ever had in my life in, of all places, Northhampton, Mass. These are bartenders who are not just passionate about cocktails. They are artists. In particular Harry may be a mixologist Mensa member. After the restaurant and hotel bars close you will find many area bartenders drinking here to see what Hank, the bartender wunderkind, can do. I had two New Orleans specialties including their menu Sazerac, which was wildly great. I watched a whiskey sour unfold, replete with egg whites, an early 20th century version, when the sour was a work of art and not a cocktail of the spigot and serve school, that was artistry and no less. The bar is minimalist elegance. You will be served not only well, but you should watch them work your drink. There is a poetry to the master at their craft that is as exciting as watching a celebrity chef at their best. TRUST YOUR BARTENDER. They put things in drinks like egg white to froth up a whisky sour the way it was designed in its origins. They are here to take you on a journey. If you want beer and wine there is a bit here but this is not really why you came. Your curiousity will be rewarded with excellence many times over. If you want an EXPERIENCE you must come here. Drive. walk. Run. From a great distance if necessary. You will not be disappointed. At prices that are, for what I have experienced, beyond modest. My only great sadness is that my favorite bar now lies out of reach...

Yelp
Very well made whimsical and inventive craft cocktails. The interior seemed a bit sterile but what you go there for are the drinks and the conversation.

Yelp
Best Old Fashion, hands down. Go visit Harry and Bowen on Friday nights. You won't be sorry!
google avatar

Crystal K.

Yelp
I once met a friend here, and the bar was impossible to find. I get it, the speakeasy theme and all, but more signage would be great. The drinks are those fancy drinks that sound like they would be super cool to drink, but they tend to be more on the bitter side and in the end you'll end up having to muster through the less than favorable flavors.

Jill R.

Yelp
Great ambiance, even better curated cocktails. Loved the music and vibe. The Venus was light and flavorful, and the Black Manhattan was dark and complex.
google avatar

Jane F.

Yelp
I have to say, besides my extremely poor first impressions we had an awful experience here. The atmosphere is suspect, overly staged, depressively dark and dreary. Appears as if they thought of a theme and said "f it" and went home before finishing. The emptiness inside leaves the bar without anything to fill the bleak space and the smallest sound produces deafening echoes. On top of the douchèy and depressive ambiance, the motto "no skinny jeans, no hipster beard, reigns supreme. If that isn't enough forget about civilized conversation unless you enjoy debating what brine to put in your freerange pickle canning mixture. I doubt i will scare off anymore folks as there wasn't a line at the door, sometimes keeping it real goes really wrong..

Yelp
I love this place ! The cocktails are so interesting and creative! The staff is welcoming and inviting.. the music is great and they always have something strange on the T.V. I have only great times here in my many times visiting. This is great place check it out

Julian R.

Yelp
Go there now. The drinks are delicious. The people are really nice. They have an excellent menu but if that doesn't work for you tell them what you like and they'll hook you up. It's that simple. Also this place makes a Sazerac

John L.

Yelp
Went here week of Thanksgiving and had an awesome night. This was my first time at the Green Room and I look forward to coming back. Extensive cocktail menu with bartenders that have plenty of knowledge. Kale was our bartender and offered a great experience.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
awesome date spot... lots of dark corners, cozy vibe, sophisticated cocktails, great soundtrack. be clear in what your drink preferences are- dont stick with the proposed menu. i opted for a mezcal drink off the menu which really didn't suit me. should have just discussed what i wanted with the bartender who was more than happy to accommodate!
google avatar

Yelp
I judge bars on their ability to make an Old Fashioned. 99.9% of the time, when I order an Old Fashioned at a bar, I am handed some horrible pink concoction with too much ice and a mini fruit salad smashed up in the bottom of my glass. It tastes like kindergarten snack time gone horribly wrong. When I ordered an Old Fashioned at The Green Room, the bartender asked me, "Bourbon or Rye?" THIS. Is a sign of a good bar. And it wasn't a fluke -- I've been back a couple of times, and have had Old Fashioneds made by two different bartenders (Harry was one of them; I forget the other guy's name). They're great. And for folks who don't know their way around cocktails, liquors, and all of the (admittedly obnoxious) geekery that can surround the cocktail "scene," the bartenders at this place are ridiculously knowledgeable and super smart. Want something sweet that has some gin? They can make something you'll like. Want something to sip on a cold fall evening? They know exactly what you need. Seriously, go to this bar. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Clive J.

Yelp
This place is unusual. Kind of divey, but also kind of hip. DH and I are big Old Fashioned fans, and this place did NOT disappoint. Craft cocktails? More like a cocktail apothecary! So many bottles of different bitters and other ingredients on the bar - never seen anything like it. Low but hip music. Not too crowded, but not dead. Not cheap, either, but still a good value. We liked it so much that we went back the next night for another nightcap!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know anything about fancy cocktails, but when I'm trying to impress people by acting like I do, I go to the Green Room. The bartender Harry is very friendly and knowledgeable about drinks. I didn't know what to order so he made a suggestion. I don't even know what the drink was but it was FANTASTIC. Even better my friends now think I'm cultured. Thanks, Harry
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
Fun and classy. The Green Room is the kind of place that makes it fun to drink--not in a keg stand kind of way, but in a "what's in this drink again? It's delicious!" kind of way. Barkeep/Manager Harry was welcoming, interesting, and had a great touch with a drink; it was entertaining to watch him at work with his eyedroppers, muddlers, strainers, and shakers. He gave good advice and adjusted recipes when necessary. The drinks were affordable AND much more skillfully made than at the Tunnel Bar, Hinge, or Spoleto, the kind of drinks that make you laugh and talk too much and decide that your childhood wasn't so bad after all. I'm a little worried to think how often we'll be going back.
google avatar

Melanie A.

Yelp
Harry, the bartender, is friendly and a great mixologist. Had a couple of great craft cocktails. My friend didn't pick off the menu. She told Harry what she was in the mood for and he delivered every time! Great cocktails in a chill environment. Love it!
google avatar

Evelysse V.

Yelp
Best cocktail bar in Northampton! Great funny and creative mixologists. Love their ability to come up with something on the spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The bartenders were friendly and extremely talented. I drank the two best drinks I ever had in my life. If you haven't been yet put the green room on your must visit list!

Yelp
My boyfriend summed up this place perfectly: "It's the kind of bar where you want to be a regular." And we will be. We just moved to the Northampton area and stopped by here for pre-dinner drinks. We initially only planned to have one each, but they were so scrumptious we had to have two. Our first drink was a bartender's choice. We told him what we liked and he made us drinks based on those flavor profiles. My boyfriend likes scotch, gin, no bourbon. I said I like whiskey, ginger, citrus and no vodka. My boyfriend received a blended scotch, mixed with ginger and citrus, with a single malt floater (delicious) (bartender said it was a Penicillin with a single malt floater- a very peaty scotch). I received a ginger margarita with a mezcal floater. Also delicious. For our second round I ordered the most delicious old fashioned I have ever had (my go to drink). My boyfriend ordered another cocktail (name is escaping us), but it was gin based with lime and a kumquat syrup. Also very good. We are looking forward to sitting at their barstools again soon.

Yelp
Came here with a cousin and her newly married husband. I drink a LOT. This was the only craft cocktail bar in the area. First drink was a 737- mescal base it was ok but not anything special. I tried my cousin's drink- kiss from a rose. Again, it was ok but not entirely special. No garnishes in either drink. Third drink i just said "aquavit base, peppermint, Nordic, go from there". In return i got a chartreuse/ fernet mess. So look, they try but need work. Need I say more.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
The Green Room is the post-prohibition speak-easy that we all secretly pine for. Where no-one knows your name. TGR has made me sit up and say, "Hey. Alcohol is Good. I want to drink some more."
google avatar

Beryl K.

Yelp
Had drinks here last Sunday early, about 5:30 PM, before going on to supper. Plan to be leisurely, at least on Sundays, because there was only one bartender, and specialty cocktails take time to make. There were seven of us, and some had wine, some had liquor neat, some had signature cocktails. I am normally a bourbon or rye drinker but sometimes order a cocktail. I don't like sweet drinks. I figured that at a cocktail bar, I should have a cocktail, so I ordered a Black Metal Manhattan. It was made of rye, cynar, bruto americano, ginger bitters, and fire. Fire was described as a lemon peel charred. (This was strained from the final drink.) I enjoyed the drink, though I didn't get the fire part at all. There is no food here at The Green Room. As we were headed to dinner and having one drink only, that wasn't a big deal, but I'd have liked to know I could have ordered some sort of snack, especially if we were having more than one drink. I'm not meaning cooked food. Peanuts, popcorn, pretzels would satisfy my desire.
google avatar

Norco B.

Yelp
We have a sort of love/hate relationship with this bar. The make truely art worthy, fantastic cocktails. However it always is EXTREMELY dark in side. Every single time we've gone we had to use our phones as flashlights on the menu. Also the service is a bit weird. They have tables for groups, you sit and they come over with menus and water, but you must get up and go to the bar to order your drinks. After ordering, they tell you to go back to your table and they will bring your drinks to you. Then after delivering drinks they tell you to come back to the bar when ready to pay or oder more. Kind of a half service establishment?
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Loved this place! Drinks were delicious and very well made. Bartenders were really nice and know what they're doing!

Yelp
The cocktails are artisan magic. They will make anything your unicorn heart desires with some guidance. A lively experience.

Yelp
Best old fashioned we've had, great knowledgeable bartender, relaxing atmosphere. Great quiet place to have a drink and enjoy one another
google avatar

Yelp
My go-to bar every time I come into NoHo to see friends! Best drinks in the area, hands down! The French 75 and Judgement Day will mold your drinking days to a more sophisticated pallet. Enjoy! Harry makes a mean prohibition cocktail that'll make you wish you had hung out with Capone!!

Daniel K.

Yelp
Dude! These guys made me and my wife amazing drinks! They were friendly and intelligent and the music was great! There was some weird Japanese show on TV which kept distracting me and I try not to watch it. If I had more time I would've gotten too drunk to drive home but as it is I had one drink and enjoyed it thoroughly thank you so much!

Roger G.

Yelp
If you like real tiki drinks, not the watered down cool aid with way too much rum and a pink umbrella, than I highly recommend their Tiki Tuesday. They could use a few more Polynesian-head mugs to put them in but the drinks are as good as any I had at Trader Vics if not better.
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
Excellent specialty cocktails in an unpretentious bar. Stopped in on a Thursday night. Bartender was super nice, brought our drinks to us (and water) while we sat in the small booth. Look forward to returning!
google avatar

Craig M.

Yelp
Small selection on the menu but very personal and engaging atmosphere. Some experienced mixologists can make you anything your heart desires
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Great spot for cocktails in Northampton! We went early on a sat night and grabbed seats at the bar. I asked for recommendations and the bartender made several creations that I loved! He was super friendly and he chatted with us about other places to check out. Would definitely recommend this spot and look forward to going back.
google avatar

Min C.

Yelp
Need more employees. Waited at the bar for more than 20 minutes to get a drink but was unsuccessful so we went somewhere else.

Stella K.

Yelp
We have a daughter at Smith College and I think we drive to Northampton from our home in NYC often not because we're so intent on seeing her, but because we want to hang out at The Green Room. There's a tightly edited menu of creative, quality cocktails, but don't worry if you don't see something that looks interesting to you. Tell the nice bartender what flavors you like and he'll come up with something on the spot, customized for you, and it will be delicious. You can also get any of the classics, like a Manhattan. I've had a Pisco Sour that was fantastic. Don't be boring and order something pedestrian like a vodka tonic. Nothing wrong with it and they'll certainly make one for you, but you can have that anywhere. You come here for a specialty cocktail and that's what you should get! Oh, and there is no food, so eat beforehand if you're hungry.
google avatar

Johnna M.

Yelp
The Green Room offers fantastic craft cockails. The menu is similar to a lot of craft cocktail places in other cities, but is unique to the Northampton scene. We tried all kinds of drinks, made from all kinds of liquor, served in all kinds of glasses, and none were disappointing. I don't think you can really go wrong here when it comes to drinks. I found the minimalist space to be gorgeous and it felt really open and airy. Perhaps too open as seating is lacking. The cheeky reminder on the menu to not be too loud seemed a little out of space as the space echoed and seemed really noisy. I would deal with standing up and having to scream to sample these delicious cocktails.
google avatar

Yelp
Best bang for your buck in Northampton. Had a gin and tonic there after work with a friend and that thing was no joke!!!
