Green Woods Beach Resort

Cool place, especially if you can land an upstairs room with balcony looking onto the greenery. Very quiet, close to the beach, Shore Temple and all the tourist eateries. No security issues, clean, beds a bit on the hard side. Ask for a discount if you're staying longer.

I had a wonderful week at this resort! I had a beautiful room with a bed on the balcony that I will never forget. The owners were kind, helpful, and spoke Tamil and English.. The room was affordable and close to all of the shops. I liked that the guesthouse wasn't on the main tourist road so it was a little more quiet. If I go back to Mahaps, I will definitely be staying here again!

Rooms are old and feel like a guest house rather than a beach resort. Don't get deceived by the name. It's a homestay good for a night. Won't recommend staying with family as you won't get proper facilities at this location. AC working and the bathrooms were pathetic. Very close to the beach. Check out the rooms prior to checking in. And they collect ur Id before checking in, never encountered such a thing while staying in other hotels/resorts.

This GH is run by three very kind, caring and helpful Indian ladies, and Mani the always smiling young house boy. The GH is very nice with the trees, flowers and Ganesha in the patio. It's quiet, well kept and renovated old rooms, comfy beds, everything is clean and works well (like fan, ac, shower). They have many different rooms in various price range. The location is great, close to the beach and to all restaurants and shops, walking distance to all sites and bus stand.||We used their taxi service to go to Chennai airport and it was impeccable, comfy car, on time and professional behavior.

We had a stay lovely here. |Well located, clean, great garden, and run by a bunch of women who were super friendly and helpful. |Our room was big, clean, own bathroom and had a swinging chair in it! |Walking distance from where the bus drops you off, it’s on the Main Street of town, walking distance to the beach and all the sights. |Restaurant upstairs was lovely and run by a very friendly and helpful man. Also was hands down the best chai we have had so far in India!

The property has rooms tucked away here and there. It is unusually quiet even though on a main road. People are helpful and kind. We stayed in a room on the first floor with a tiny balcony in the front. The Ayurvedic centre is quite good and pocket friendly. The only things lacking were a few woollen blankets, a better satellite TV connection with more channels and a better parking place.

We stay at Mahabs quite frequently since that's the closest getaway from Chennai.||One of the most beautiful assets of this place is the amount of trees and plans that the place holds. It's a great feeling to have so much green around you and then you just walk up to the beach.| The rooms are decent and clean. The AC rooms are between ₹ 700 - 1000 and non AC between ₹400 to 600 depending on the season you travel in. The beach is literally a few steps on one side and the foodie street on the other.|If you need a place to stay for a few nights on a tight budget, this is one of the perfect options in Mahabs.

Good place to go stay. It is a family run hotel... So it won't be anything like a corporate hotel but it is a small beautiful property with nice greenary inside. No marketing and no price variation. It is also not on any of the hotel booking platforms. I'd rate this just less than Sea Beach Restaurant but just one third the price.
