Greenhouse Bolivia

This is the place to start you trip across Bolivia if you want to get invaluable advice about where to go and how to behave in the city. Especially if your Spanish is not too strong (Diego is an amazing guide with perfect English, who is also the nicest person). The vibes in the hostel are great and very friendly, you really feel like a part of a community. The rooms are decent, everything is clean and functional. We were very lucky to spend our first days in the country here!! Highly recommended!!

We had the most amazing stay here. We extended our stay three times! All the staff work their hardest to keep the place clean and homely, you get a lovely free breakfast included served with warm smiles all around. Diego made our stay so special recommending lots of different places to visit and restaurants and sorts the most amazing tours. One of the best places I have stayed in South America ! Felt like a home away from home :) x

The Greenhouse is a very nice hostel in the beautiful neighborhood of Sopocachi. The rooms are simple but comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is very nice. Highly recommend :)

Diego and the other staff looked after us so well. Diego was so attentive, funny and kind and me and my friends felt so well looked after! Not only did he help make our stay comfortable he helped us with so many elements of tours and activities from la Paz ! Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in la Paz ! I stayed here on my first trip to La Paz and also returned twice after a tour for huayna potosi and the Amazon.

Stay here in La Paz! The best location for the price. Best to stay outside the city center and Sopocachi is a hip neighborhood with lots of cafes and dining. The Teleférico station yellow is right around the corner, so you can get anywhere from there pretty cheap and easy. Juan Carlos and the rest of the staff are super helpful with plenty of information and tips. Breakfast is simple, so it’s a good idea to supplement it with some of your own cooking. But the kitchen is fabulous! And the common area is large and comfortable. If you’re going for a private room, pay the extra 25bos for the room with the balcony. Totally worth it!

Great hostel has a very homely atmosphere. Diego who works here speaks great English and is the most helpful worker I’ve met. Always advising on what to do in the city and helping book tours

Rooms and shared toilets were clean. The floors are creaky so bring earplugs so you can sleep in the evenings. The breakfast was good. Location is good. Open kitchen is great! Taking drugs/ smoking weed in the room right next to the kitchen seemed to be accepted by the hostel workers. If this is something you don't want to see, I would stay away.

Good location, extremely helpful staff (really helped us with everything when we first arrived to Bolivia, from how to navigate the financial crisis and exchange currency at black market, recomending places to eat and visit, to transporation tips and navigation + have spoken a perfect English, which is not a standard in La Paz), cool and pleasant shared area and kitchen. If you look for a friendly and cheap hostel in a safe and hip neighbourhood, this is dedinitely good choice.
