I surprised my nieces with a candle making class at the Greenville Soy Candle Shop! It was fun and very informative. We learned a lot about the different types of candles and now understand, and appreciate, why soy candles are more expensive and totally worth it! Our instructor Tina was great! We enjoyed choosing the fragrance, color and creating our own labels! It was a Wick-ed good time 😉

The scents smelled so good, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. There were a lot of cute items inside.

I really enjoyed my time at the Candle Making Experience which is a wonderful excursion in Downtown Greenville. The location and ambiance of the shop makes it a must visit destination. We were primarily interested in candles and found a myriad of scents that were soothing and transformative. Riptide was my favorite. It really feels like a sitting oceanside on the beach. There was no shortage of creativity and imagination in the candle fragrances. Everything from cookies and Christmas to Surf and Summer. It's a scent experience. The Candle Making Experience was fun and informative. I learned things about Soy candles that I could've lived my whole life never knowing but found myself intrigued and fascinated. The owner, our host was whimsical and entertaining. She definitely has a career in stand-up comedy waiting when she's ready. I would greatly recommend the candles and the Experience to anyone looking for a fun date activity. My expectations were exceeded!

I took my mom here for a candle making class for her birthday and we both loved it! We had so much fun picking our scents and learning how to make candles. Not only that, but the class was very informative and we learned so much.

I booked their candle making class this past weekend and had such a great experience! I did not know paraffin wax is a derivative of petroleum and hence, when burned, creates soot. I was fascinated that they make all their candles in-store by hand. What creates that tunneling in certain candles is because the wick is the wrong size, they do a lot of testing to ensure that doesn't happen. This is a creative activity, date idea, or gift!

Tina, the owner, led our private party and first off, thanks to her for waiting and being SO PATIENT with us because our group did not all arrive on time. She was a delight and super knowledgeable about her craft. Everything there is made in- store, by hand and you'll enjoy the myriad of scents in the shop. I loved the tart melts because I have warmers throughout my home so because I loved a few scents, the tart melts were perfect. Even the essential oils are made in- house and I purchased an eucalyptus oil bottle that smells phenomenal. Apparently the fragrance is the most expensive part of the candle making ingredients but I also thought how it was so cool that this company works with fragrance experts and has their candles lab- tested to ensure the fragrance to dye ratio isnt unbalanced. The candle making class lasted about 45 minutes and the color adding was the most interesting because you had to mix colors sparingly to get the color you really wanted. This is their second store (original is in Kansas) and I definitely think I'll be back for another candle class and to make a purchase!

Candles here are awesome. Plenty of choices but the prices are steep. They also have candle making classes which sounds extremely fun and may try that next time I’m in town. I love how many different varieties they have, many of which are unique. I like the atmosphere too.

I love this place a lot more than the commercial yankee candle and bath and body works. I did the refill last time and I loved it got it in a few days. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The soy candle burns cleaner and last a whole time longer and I don’t think the cost is that much more. Definitely a must visit and there are so many wonderful scents. I would also like to take that candle making class one of these days. Have a blessed day.

Dropped in this place just to see what they had and ended up leaving with 3 of the small 1-wick candles, staff were super friendly. Answered all our questions and helped pick out the best candles for our home. Can't wait to come back!

Greenville is one of my favorite spots to spend a long weekend! Lots to see, do & great foodie places to check out. Greenville Soy Candle is located on Main St downtown district. Parking kind be a task of course, but they do have street parking and garages thru out the city. I made reservation online to guarantee our spot in the candle making class. I believe they teach other classes also, check them out online for details. Pricing was very reasonable, not overpriced for what you receive in class. The instructor and employees where very kind and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. Our class had only 6 people in it, which was great, do to Covid. You will have alot of scent choices to choose from...Each person was able to make one candle per person, we came back before closing time to pick up. Yes I do recommend, if your in the local area to attend. Great way to have a dinner date or maybe group meet up for some fun.

I had such amazing time making my candle. The shop is well organized and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this shop for a date night or for friends just wanting to have a great time of fellowship.

I love this shop!! The staff are all so sweet and personable. The decor is well curated and the candles are all to die for. I am obsessed with the tart melts, personally. They are so much better than any store bought bc they have SO MUCH MORE SMELL IN THEM. They last forever and I don't have to stress about burning my house down. I really recommend booking a class to make your own candle and inviting your friends or significant other to join. It's so fun! Stop in and treat yourself or snag a wonderful gift for someone else. You can even get candles poured into old candle jars or any cute container you bring in! So save that cookie tin you thought was so cute, but couldn't figure out what you'd ever do with it... it's now an amazing smelling candle! Their soaps and lotions are also the JAM. Don't sleep on this shop!

Delightful evening with friends. The staff is so cordial and PATIENT. We booked our evening about two weeks ago and also made reservations at a nearby restaurant for dinner after our "chandler" event. All in all it translated into an evening of creativity, crafting, and culinary that was "totes awesome" as the millennials might say! The inventory is extensive if you are interested in just popping in to select a ready made gift!

I wandered in here while walking through Downtown Greenville during a short visit. I left with a candle warmer and a couple of packs of wax melts. I love that every scent is available as a wax melt as well, as I don't trust myself with open flame candles.

We attended the Candle-Making class as a part of out anniversary celebration and we absolutely loved the experience! I would definitely recommend doing it as a Girls Day, Birthday, or date! Even just for fun!

We were in Greenville looking at fun things to do on a Saturday afternoon, and were referred to check out this candle making class. I have to admit, at first I was a bit skeptical, making candles couldn't be all that cool, could it? Well Hunter proved me wrong, starting out the class with great information about the scents that we were to choose. I was blown away by the depth that they go into with their candle making, ensuring that the wax is soy, for better, safer burning. After learning about all of the time, effort, and materials that go into a candle, I will only be purchasing soy, or paraben free candles in the future. In addition to choosing the scent, we also were able to set the wick, pour the wax, and choose our colors. It was a great idea for a date, Hunter was an absolutely amazing teacher, and I can't stop smelling this amazing candle that I produced. This is a can't miss in Greenville if you're looking for a unique and fun experience.

I'm giving it a solid 5/5 because why would someone give it 4/5 for no reason like the lady below . So this place is awesome. I smell amazing all day with just one use of their lotion. I love the dude lotion and actually all of them I lied I'm not going to get specific because they all smell amazing. The little ladies in the work shop are not the friendliest they seem to hate life but that's okay if I was pouring wax and mixing stuff all day I would hate life a little too maybe they just need a hug. But other than that I love everything here. I won't go to the mall and buy cheap lotion from Bath and body works I will buy it from here. It's really awesome and I would wear it when I die too like just bury me in it kinda thing. Highly recommend this place.

CUTE CANDLES AND SOAPS What a cute little store. This is a shop that sells candles, scents and homemade soaps and everything is made in house. They have a variety of candles in jars and tins, (for travel) and even a special collection for men. The scents for men have names like water and leather but are very nice and subtle. My husband loves the smell of teak so he purchased a couple of the small scented wax melts that can be placed in our warmer. All products are made in- house and of natural products. You can actually schedule a candle making class with your friends, family or as a date night activity. I love that you can actually see their little factory space at the rear of the store. If you need a special gift for a friend or family member, this store is a great choice.

I really enjoyed my day trip to Greenville with my girl cousins. We booked a candle-making class here and had an absolute blast. It's a 2 hour class and you are an active candle making participant. The scents are amazing. I left the class thinking that I may have learned a new hobby (probably not). I really enjoyed the location in the heart of downtown Greenville. It was within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and other cool stores. While we were waiting on our candles to dry, we stepped out and grabbed some food and then some ice cream (yikes). When we got back, a few hours later, our candles were bagged and ready for us. I will definitely be back. The class was $25 per person which is really a great price.

Having experienced a creative edge for delving into the bath, body and candle gig, I can appreciate those who make a go of it. It is not easy to make artisan bath bombs or soaps as one might think. It's a science, an art, and takes a vision. Magnolia Scents by Design does a good job of marketing its brand and can compete well among the other contenders, big and small. This is a charming cottage industry business that specializes in quality small batch production. The website looks professional and the Greenville store is a cute, rustic shop with a touch of urbanite. I walked in after a band was playing downtown among a roped off Main Street event. This city is truly picturesque and not too large to lose its southern appeal. The lady who assisted me had a darling English accent. I discovered from speaking with her that she once lived in my area. Wow, What a small world! I selected two 10 oz. candles, Oatmeal, Milk & Honey and Roasted Bean. There were some cute gift giving items I couldn't resist. A little metal claw foot bathtub featuring a soap and little lotion, and a soap dish with a slab of Oatmeal Bliss. Prices were reasonable. After I got home, I lit the oatmeal candle. The wax burns very clean and even leaving no pooling of wax. There's no smoking wick, no soot, and the scent permeated the area without overpowering. Packaging is nice; worthy of giving as a gift or cherishing for yourself. There are so many scents to choose and other products that I would consider ordering online to enjoy more Magnolia at home.

Candle making with friends. Great fun! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Many scents and colors to choose from. A large selection of wonderful candles made in house. You will have a hard time just choosing one!!

Love this cute little shop on Main Street! I especially love their hand soaps and bath products made with essential oils. Their candles are awesome too.

We were so happy to find this great candle company. All of the candles and soaps and made in-house of natural ingredients. There have a wide assortment of custom scents that range from light and floral to deep and herbal. We stopped by while exploring Main Street as out-of-town wedding guests and were delighted to find out that they will ship for free if you spend $50. We spoiled ourselves and built a wonderful custom gift basket assortment for a relative. We will be sure to stop in again if we're ever in Greenville.

Magnolia Scents by Design is a feel-good shop of soaps and candles made right in the store. The staff is so friendly that you just don't want to leave. Despite an overcast Greenville sky, my spirits were raised by handmade candles that I could smell from the front walk.

Great smells! Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. Looking forward to making my own candle with friends. The will refill used containers with your favorite colors and scents, pretty much what you want at reduced costs. Also did some custom candles for retirement party, weddings and such. Again great place to visit.
